@HoneyLemon29 congratulations!! Got everything crossed for you for the next few weeks, I know it'll be a nervy time but try to keep yourself busy to stay distracted.
@MrsL2021 welcome! You're definitely in the right place here, sounds like we are in a very similar boat, I've just started trying again last month after an ectopic in late November. Im also just taking folic acid.
Ditto trying to find causes for the ectopic, I went out and bought new work trousers as I convinced myself it happened because they were too tight!!

LJF234 · 03/03/2022 15:49

@NewtoTTC87
My doctor said similar about the causes of ectopic, basically one of those things that just happens but certainly doesn't make it easier!
Good luck with the TWW, as you say you've done all you can now🤞🤞

Mummyme87 · 03/03/2022 16:10

Congratulations @HoneyLemon29 super exciting for you.

Sometimes it is just bad luck having an ectopic, there are risk factors, prev CS, prev abdominal surgery, pregnancy with coil in situ etc

HoneyLemon29 · 04/03/2022 10:05

Thank you everyone, I've peed on the last stick I have (may as well have it was there) 😅
8dpo
9dpo and 10dpo
I've also rang EPAU and they want me in next week when my periods due to start monitoring HCG.
🤞 everything's okay 😮‍💨💜

TTC with one Fallopian tube
Chantal90 · 04/03/2022 10:11

Hi Everyone!
I hope you don’t mind me joining. I had an ectopic pregnancy which ruptured my left Fallopian tube in October 2021 and I’m currently back on the TTC wagon.
I’m both terrified of conceiving and not conceiving (if that makes sense!)

@HoneyLemon29 congrats on your bfp! Do you mind me asking were the epau good when you called them? It sounds silly but I’m worried about having to advocate for all the tests and scans etc…
I hope it’s all good news for you ☺️

HoneyLemon29 · 04/03/2022 10:34

@Chantal90 I'm sorry to hear about your ectopic 🥺
Yes the EPAU is actually joint to the ward I had surgery and they said to me if I fall pregnant again to call them straight away. The sooner the monitor the better chances of catching it early and having better treatment to save the tube 💜 because chemical happen most the time before 4 weeks they've advised I wait until my periods due date then they start the bloods asap until they're high enough to scan x

Chantal90 · 04/03/2022 10:47

@HoneyLemon29 That's reassuring, thank you! We moved across the country since my surgery so I'm going to be calling a different EPAU, probably worrying over nothing.
It's rotten that chances of it happening again go up after one ectopic. Doesn't feel fair, although I do try not to think about it that way...

Mummyme87 · 04/03/2022 12:38

AF arrived today! 24day cycle this month, was 25 the month prior, I’m usually 26 days. So I definitely ovulated earlier, maybe CD11 instead of 13. Very odd. Anyway, I’m fine, I get a bit of a sigh of relief once it comes, like I know where I am for the next couple of weeks

HoneyLemon29 · 04/03/2022 12:57

I'm sorry to hear that @Mummyme87 :(
I really hope this cycle is the one for you 💜

MrsL2021 · 04/03/2022 15:54

@HoneyLemon29 lines look good and getting stronger! 🤞 I'm so pleased they want you in next week! Keeping everything crossed for you 💕✨🌈 xxx

LJF234 · 05/03/2022 07:47

Sorry to hear that @Mummyme87, I get what you mean about knowing where you are for a few weeks and not having to worry about it all. 🤞for next cycle though

Glad to hear the EPU sound like they're going to do a good job looking after you @honeylemon29

@Chantal90 Welcome and sorry to hear about your ectopic! My ectopic was in nov and we've recently started trying again too so in a very similar place and I completely get what you mean, I so desperately want to see a positive test but I'm equally terrified at the same time.
My consultant said the same to me following surgery, ring as soon as you find out you're pregnant again as they will monitor your bloods and scan as soon as they think they could see something. As @honeylemon29 says if it were to be another ectopic the earlier they find out the better the treatment options. Im sure this is the same nationally so def call when you get a positive test (🤞🤞 it will be this cycle!) X
X

I am 4 weeks post ectopic surgery my left fallopian was removed! We are about to start our journey TTC again and I would love to go through it with someone else in the same position :)

myrainbowjourney · 06/03/2022 17:58

@Chantal90 @Emily5674 welcome to the group, and sorry to hear about your ectopics. It definitely helps to talk to people who know what you're going through. We are always here for you to express any thoughts xx

@Mummyme87 sorry to hear AF arrived. Also get what you mean about the next couple of weeks. Nice to not think about it for a while.

@HoneyLemon29 lines are looking great. How lovely to be so well looked after by EPU. Please keep us updated about your results xxx

HoneyLemon29 · 06/03/2022 18:33

Thank you @MrsL2021

@Emily5674 sorry to hear about your Ectopic 💜

@myrainbowjourney I will keep the thread updated, my blood tests are beginning on Wednesday at 4+1
I've taken another test today 48 hours from the last because I had a chemical before the ectopic and lines didn't progress x

TTC with one Fallopian tube
Emily5674 · 06/03/2022 18:39

@myrainbowjourney thank you! I am just excited now to get back to TTC it took us 14 months to conceive first time so I’m hoping it’s not as long this time we had a few tests and nothing wrong so fingers crossed.

@HoneyLemon29 congrats on the pregnancy can I ask how long since your ectopic did it take to conceive again? Will they give you an early scan :)

HoneyLemon29 · 06/03/2022 18:47

@Emily5674 being completely honest my ectopic was in January and I've only had one natural period since. I know I was supposed to wait 2 cycles. But I was in a bit of a low place thinking a pregnancy would never happen again 😢 and just had unprotected sex thinking it would take longer 💜

Emily5674 · 06/03/2022 18:53

@HoneyLemon29 I get that feeling I have been the same thinking it’s never going to happen! That was great that it took only one cycle - my doctor gave me the green like to try again once I had 1 period seems different doctors give different advise I wouldn’t worry that you got pregnant this soon 💕

My ectopic was February so waiting on my cycle to resume soon and the we will try again :)

HoneyLemon29 · 06/03/2022 19:07

@Emily5674 your period will come any day now won't it? I ovulated 2 weeks after surgery and then got my period 2 weeks later 💜
I have my fingers crossed for you and it makes me feel better knowing your doctor advised 1 cycle x

Emily5674 · 06/03/2022 19:35

@HoneyLemon29 haven’t ovulated yet but did a random OPK this am and was fairly positive so 2 more weeks and it should be here :) they said can be 4/6 weeks post op so just about right. delighted now as means we can move forward!

Keep us updated on the pregnancy!

LJF234 · 06/03/2022 19:38

@HoneyLemon29 great progression in those lines! Please do keep us updated
@Emily5674 welcome, there's a few of us here in a similar position so we can keep eachother company. I also got the green light to try after one cycle (my ectopic was late nov) but didn't get a period until nearly 7 weeks post surgery and then had another less than 3 weeks later so not even sure I ovulated that cycle 🤷‍♀️ I guess everyone is different and your body will let you know when you're physically and emotionally ready.
I've been trying to track my ovulation using clear blue for the first time this cycle but on day 6 of flashing smiley, might just give up as think its stressing me out more than helping!
Hope everyone else is well x

Mummyme87 · 06/03/2022 20:09

Great progression lines @HoneyLemon29

Emily5674 · 06/03/2022 21:16

@LJF234

Thank you - it is nice to have other people in the same position to chat about as I don’t personally know anyone who has had an ectopic pregnancy before. I have read that periods can go a bit out of whack after the surgery I hope this cycle for you is better :)

I used the clear blue ovulation when TTC before and I got a week of smileys and then about a week later I ovulated late on day 20 so I don’t think they work well for me - I reckon buy a box of the cheap ones as at least you can see what’s on the strips! Good luck!

HoneyLemon29 · 06/03/2022 21:41

@Emily5674 have you heard of the Premom app and OPK strips? X

Thank you @Mummyme87

Will do @LJF234

Emily5674 · 06/03/2022 22:11

@HoneyLemon29 yes I have some OPKS I do find they help we used these the month I conceived :)

I have t used Premom app I will give that a go thank you x

HoneyLemon29 · 06/03/2022 22:20

@Emily5674 I find Premom easier because the app takes pictures of the OPKs and charts them up for you, and it's cheaper. This is mine from this month, I also take BBT x
