Yes please let me know @Ladylou17 and let's hope it's a success with little to no side affects. Good to know re HycoSy - I'll call next week. 13/14 months now I think. We have MFI but not to the point where it definitely won't happen naturally, just that it will take longer than normal. X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 26/04/2022 09:57

Hi! @Ladylou17 any update from you?

I had my HSG and it was totally fine and everything looked normal. I'm having a call with the doctor on Thursday so I'll ask about an AFC. I was in the radiology dept for the HSG so I don't think I could have a my follicles checked as part of that appointment.

The lack of pain and zero spotting makes me think there wasn't even any tiny blockages so I don't hold out much hope of this boosted fertility stuff. X

Hi ladies, I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing? Xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 17/05/2022 13:37

Hi @Cruz86 how are you doing?!

We are going ahead with IVF. It should happen in the next few months - depending on my cycle and my OH being away for 2 weeks which can't be changed. It has been a tough, but we are ready now. X

Cruz86 · 17/05/2022 14:43

Hi @FlyOnTheWall89! Great to hear you've made a decision about what you're doing next, albeit not the route you wanted to go down. It must have been very hard to come to that conclusion. But perhaps not as hard as month by month going past unsuccessful 😞 How are you feeling about it all? I'm good thanks, 16 weeks on Friday and things are going well so far which is a relief! X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 17/05/2022 17:42

Wow 16 weeks has flown. I was just thinking how everyone else's experience fly by whereas my own feel like they are going at snails pace. That's really exciting and I'm so pleased all is okay this time. I'm definitely feeling much happier now we have a plan. The hardest bits were 7-11 months when we didn't know why things were taking a while and then more recently just making that decision to give up naturally. I'll keep this thread updated for sure xx

Lucyasc · 19/05/2022 15:01

Hi all so sorry I've been gone for so long I stopped receiving notifications and everything has been so busy since the wedding! How is everyone doing? We are still trying this will be our 3rd month trying using ovulation tests, I've found I ovulate later than the average predicted day on the apps usually about day 17 or 18 and I've now got myself worried my luteal phase isn't long enough as my cycle is between 28-30 days. I'm also trying to focus now on losing some weight as I am a plus size woman so hoping this will help us. Just been finding TTC a lot harder recently but i need to relax during the 2WW! Hope everyone is well ❤️ xx

Oooo @Ladylou17 there is something there. How many DPO? we are starting next cycle I think 🤞🏻, but would LOVE to get that pre-IVF positive!

Ladylou17 · 27/05/2022 11:21

Oh @FlyOnTheWall89 thats exciting! Are you doing long or shift protocol?
im only 8DPO but have felt a bit off xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/05/2022 11:48

@Ladylou17 long sadly but I think it's quite standard and probably the best for large egg collection. Just hope I respond okay with not too many side effects. Well if that's 8DPO, I think that's quite positive because there is defo a line.

Cruz86 · 27/05/2022 14:22

@FlyOnTheWall89 forgive my lack of knowledge but what's the process with ivf? How long does it take?

@Lucyasc keep going! Now that you know you ovulate later, hopefully you'll have some good news over the next couple of months ☺️

@Ladylou17 I can see it! That's exactly how mine looked at that stage. Good luck, keep us updated 🤞🏻

Xx

Ladylou17 · 28/05/2022 08:49

Thank you @Lucyasc @Cruz86 im in shock after so long I can’t believe it. Feeling quite queasy and headaches but I’m so happy fingers crossed all is well. How are you?xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 28/05/2022 17:32

Huge congratulations @Ladylou17 - did you do anything differently? Classic Qu I know. No they've not said anything about melatonin...? What is it?

@Cruz86 so the process is as follows for long protocol:
From CD21 1-2 weeks of injections which will be followed by a bleed, at which point you begin FSH injections to stimulate follicle growth. Every few days I'll be scanned to see how it's all going. At some point within a 2 week period, they'll say yep it's time for the trigger shot. Then 36 hours later, I'll go in for egg collection. They'll add the sperm to the eggs and then we will get a few calls in the following days to tell us how many have fertilised and then what quality our embryos are. Depending on the situation, they'll either transfer them on day 3 or 5, or freeze them for transfer a bit later. Short protocol works with your normal cycle I think so it's less injections, less side affects and quicker...

Ladylou17 · 28/05/2022 17:46

Thank you @FlyOnTheWall89 I did- I’ve been taking melatonin 5mg every night for 2 months now advised by the clinic which improves egg quality. There’s quite a bit of research on it which is all positive. I also ate no processed foods (which was hard!) but I’m sure it’s something to do with it xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/05/2022 08:49

@Ladylou17 did they think egg quality was a factor in your not getting pregnant? It's really interesting because I've not seen this mentioned much on the forum but having read into it, it sounds great. I sleep very well although only 6-6.5 a night. Don't think I'll take it but fab that it maybe contributed to your success. Hope all continues okay 🤞🏻 xx

Ladylou17 · 30/05/2022 06:34

@FlyOnTheWall89 no they didn’t but they said prior to starting long protocol they recommended to have for 12 weeks as sometimes can be quantity over quality and can help spontaneous pregnancies xx thinking about it I had my first two acupuncture sessions this month I’m not sure if that’s helped xx

Mama500 · 30/05/2022 10:11

WOW @Ladylou17 SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!

Massive congratulations!!!!

How many DPO now and how long did it take it in the end?

Hope everyone else is doing well.

cant wait to see your bfp @FlyOnTheWall89 in so sorry your journey is a long one
