@Ladylou17 @Mama500 @FlyOnTheWall89 @Lucyasc @FlipperyGibbet

Just started this new thread because ours is full. Hope the name change isn't confusing 😂 Tagging you too @rita83 if you ever pop back in to say hi! Have I missed anyone? I'm so rubbish with my memory 🤦🏼‍♀️ x

@Cruz86 aw that all sounds so positive, really keeping everything crossed for you, you deserve it after everything. Hopefully you can see more at your scan next week!! xx

Aw thank you, yeah we're in a much better headspace now. Basically the first 12 months we didn't stand a chance because I wasn't ovulating (I'm going to blame 15 years of the pill on that!), so now things have sorted themselves in a way it's like the last couple of months have been starting afresh. DH does have low morphology though so may take us a while but at least we know there's hope Smile xx

Lucyasc · 07/03/2022 16:33

@Cruz86 very exciting 💕🎉 how are you feeling?

FlyOnTheWall89 · 11/03/2022 14:58

How is everyone!? A little chart update. Where in your cycles are you if you're still trying.

How is everything with you @Cruz86 xx

The pill really does mess things up doesn't it @Janey3090! When are you due to ovulate?

@Lucyasc how are you doing?

Ooh that looks like a good chart @FlyOnTheWall89! How are you feeling about this cycle?

I'm okay thank you, just trying not to think about things before the scan on Thursday and keep myself busy!

Xx

How are you feeling physically @Cruz86 ? Keeping everything crossed for you.

Weirdly my FF has now moved ovulation to CD20... but I don't think it's right. Feeling fine. I know chances are so so slim so I am sort of used to the disappointment now. I'm going to have a HSG either this month or next depending if the hospital can get me in before we go away. X

Lucyasc · 12/03/2022 10:56

@Cruz86 not too bad thanks my partner has been hit with the dreaded virus on Wednesday and we get married a week tomorrow so it's been all panic and tears! I moved in with his mum until he's negative and I'm still testing negative so that's a positive I guess x

Cruz86 · 12/03/2022 19:44

@FlyOnTheWall89 I'm absolutely shattered constantly, feel nauseous pretty much all day and my boobs are starting to hurt more now. It's the tiredness that's killing me 😩

Yeah I'm not sure I'd put ovulation at cd20 either! Stick with what you think. Ah it's good that you're having that done next too! Are you going away anywhere nice?

Oh I'm sorry @Lucyasc, that must be sooo stressful!! Is he feeling unwell with it too? X

Hope everyone's okay xx

@Cruz86 thank you so much! That's so kind of you it was the most amazing day! Covid had no involvement in our day thank god haha. I did get my AF day before the wedding which was horribly timed but never mind! Hope everyone is doing ok x

Ladylou17 · 29/03/2022 09:21

Hey @Cruz86 @FlyOnTheWall89 @Mama500 and hope you had a lovely wedding day @Lucyasc sorry I’ve been MIA have been a bit down about things. I’ve seen a fertility doctor and had a Hycosy which showed a bit of something left behind from mmc which could’ve been causing my issues. Fingers crossed we catch this cycle or will try letrozole next cycle so feeling slightly more positive. Hope you guys are all doing ok?x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/03/2022 11:25

Hi @Ladylou17 ! What else did the doctor say? How was the hycosy? How many months since the MMC ? I'm having a HSG in 3 weeks if nothing happens this cycle. My OH feels blindly optimistic after morphology jumped from 0% to 9% but total speed count is still borderline. He is totally burying his head in the sand about our probable need for IVF. We see a urologist next week so hopefully he will be a bit black and white with him about it.

Ladylou17 · 29/03/2022 11:36

@FlyOnTheWall89 that’s positive news about morphology, I think it’s really difficult for our size but actually with IVF they do very little 😂 hopefully in the meantime you will conceive naturally and have discussions with urologist.
All my bloods and tests were fine Hycosy was a bit sore but not unbearable definitely take some paracetamol before hand and you will have some spotting and pain afterwards but not bad. Reassuring to know everything is ok and all removed now. Feeling really annoyed that the NHS didn’t rescan me after my mmc in august the consultant was shocked.
He’s said see how we go this cycle and to think about letrozole next month (he’s given me 3 months worth) +/- trigger shot. He said if I get pregnant I should start progesterone immediately for 12 weeks too. Put my mind at rest to be honest I’d definitely recommend it. How are you feeling?x

Ladylou17 · 29/03/2022 11:36

@FlyOnTheWall89 size = other half 😂

Cruz86 · 29/03/2022 14:51

Af arriving the day before must have been so frustrating @Lucyasc!! Have you gone on a honeymoon?

Hi @Ladylou17! I'm so sorry you still had something remaining from your mmc. I can imagine there's a lot of anger about the fact that it could've been picked up earlier and you really should've been scanned again. Hopefully this is the start of moving in the right direction now though.

That's a great % increase @FlyOnTheWall89! Forgive my naivety, but is there anything that can be done about the count?

I'm okay thank you, around 8 weeks and saw a heartbeat about a week and a half ago. Feeling constantly nauseous though and am completely useless to anyone right now!!

Xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/03/2022 16:14

Arh that's so great @Cruz86. Just want it to happen for us now. Feels like it's taking forever. I think it's more about if there is a reason we can identify for the low count. For example as varicocele which is basically lots of blood vessels in the testicles which overheat the sperm. It count be a hormone thing. All these things will be checked next week via the urologist. Not sure what else it could be, but there are plenty of things for sure .... it's a learning curve and the NHS have zero to do with it. We are paying privately. I'm just so shocked that male factor isn't treated... it's just like oh okay IVF for you then.

Yes that is so bad that they didn't scan you @Ladylou17 - glad to hear the hycosy was okay. I'm curious - why have they given you letrozole if you already ovulate? Presumably the progesterone is the same ones you're given post IVF?

X

Ladylou17 · 29/03/2022 16:24

Glad to hear all is ok @Cruz86 so happy for you.
@FlyOnTheWall89 I’ve lucked out a little bit I think my consultant is the medical director for a tertiary woman’s hospital and he said letrozole based on studies just done are superior to clomid in overstimulating the follicle which hopefully means more eggs= more chances of conceiving though it could potentially mean twins but again it’s much rarer with letrozole. With the progesterone he said if I was his patient at the time (I bled for 4 weeks before mmc all scans fine) he would’ve started it asap. He said I likely would’ve continued the pregnancy which was sad to hear. He spoke about aspirin too but I guess see how we go. It’s a bit overwhelming but feel more positive this month xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/03/2022 16:36

Interesting @Ladylou17 - maybe the hycosy will also help. I'm on another thread and 2/3 of the girls got pregnant 1st or 2nd month after the hycosy. One didn't. I know lots of people say different things about it, but I'm inclined to say it helps so fingers crossed. Urgh that's horrible - I think it is so important to really push and self advocate (whilst being polite 😊). A really sad lesson to learn. Sorry you had to hear and go through that. Xx

Ladylou17 · 29/03/2022 16:55

Thank you xx yes I have definitely learned when you know somethings not right to keep pushing for answers.
That’s interesting, my consultant said that too. Fingers crossed for both of us sounds like we are on the right path xx

Mama500 · 04/04/2022 12:57

Hi @Ladylou17 @Cruz86 @FlyOnTheWall89 @Lucyasc

Sorry for my radio silence. Like @Cruz86 I’ve been so sick and nauseous and very much useless!!!!

@Ladylou17 I’m so glad olive got answers but I can imagine that was so hard to hear. Sounds like you are really on the path to your BFP now. And you wasn’t imagining those faint BFP!! What cycle day are you?

@FlyOnTheWall89 that’s great about your OH % I hope your appointment went well! The ball is really rolling for you too!

@Lucyasc hope you had an amazing wedding and honeymoon.

@Cruz86 how are you feeling? I’m having good and bad days now but my first pregnancy was definitely not this hard 😷

X

Cruz86 · 05/04/2022 08:16

Hi @Mama500!! I'm the same as you, this pregnancy feels so much worse than with my son 🤢 I had another scan yesterday and I'm measuring slightly ahead now at 9+3! Can't believe it. How are you doing? Xx

OP posts:
Ladylou17 · 15/04/2022 08:00

Hey @Cruz86 @Mama500 @FlyOnTheWall89 hope you are all doing ok xx
I’ve started letrozole this cycle, bit of a whirlwind to be honest. Finally had my formal fertility appointment she said everything normal apart from slightly low follicle count for my age so would say to start ivf. I said when? She said oh in a couple of weeks 🤦‍♀️ and she wouldn’t have recommended letrozole as I ovulate well on my own. But I’ve decided to do it and have a scan on day 10 and see where we go before moving forward with anything else. Cross your fingers for me ladies. Hope you guys are all well xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 15/04/2022 08:10

Hi @Ladylou17 no news here. About to start AF again. I am going to ask for a follicle count and if a medicated cycle is worth trying but I presume they'll say no as I ovulate every month. Have you had an AMH blood test? They do seem to jump to IVF as if it's no big deal but tbh we are still not ready to do that. X

Ladylou17 · 15/04/2022 08:16

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes I totally agree I was a little shocked. I said I’ve taken one dose of letrozole so can you continue with my monitoring initially they said no but I work for the nhs so know they can’t really leave you without monitoring with risk of super ovulation. I’m hoping this month will be it. If I were you I don’t think you have anything to lose with trying letrozole before big step into ivf and the evidence suggests it’s got a 30% chance better than 0% right.
Yes my AMH was 9 so not great really either. Hope you are doing ok xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 15/04/2022 12:37

@Ladylou17 I think I'll push for 3 medicated cycles post HSG. Mine was 10.7 so I expect my FC not to be great. Maybe they can do a scan when I go in for my HSG on day 9 of my cycle. I've had 2 days of almost like EWCM which I never get at this point in my cycle so allowed myself to be hopeful but temps and BPM down so must be knocking on the door of AF. 😭 how long have you been trying? I can't remember? Xx

Ladylou17 · 15/04/2022 20:13

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes my doctor did afc at the same time as the Hycosy. Around 14 months but that’s with the mmc as well. How about you? To be honest I’m glad I went cause all my other tests were normal.
I have a scan next week to check my follicles with letrozole I’ll let you know how I get on. I feel absolutely fine so far so fingers crossed xx
