Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Kizzy, hugs are a staple of this thread, as is virtual choc cake and the odd drink!

munnzieb · 23/11/2004 17:50

congrats wilbar, (at last we have a graduate) fingers crossed for all those testin this week)

Rudy/ Rantus, in my warped world of logic, a walk for the dogs is enough to warrent a 200gr bar of choc, so I think excersie=choc even if it's not ment to work that way, and is not aiding my fertilty.... doesn't matter anyhow as we'll all be PG here soon enough anyways!

Geordie -I have also decided not to go on the pill after getting PG, I was on microgynon 30 for 6 years, If the dr told me then that it would make it harder to fall PG I don't know i would have gone on it, on the plus thou I had 6 years of clockwork AF, (scratches head.... it was clock work before as well, no pains or anything or moodiness)

kizzy212 · 23/11/2004 17:51

NOW 24 NOW I THINK I THINK IM IN FOR A SHOCK OF YOU LOT. BUT A HAPPY SHOCK...LOL

munnzieb · 23/11/2004 17:51

I'd agree with that twiga.

munnzieb · 23/11/2004 17:53

kizzy212 · 23/11/2004 17:55

still trying to work out abbreivations so if i aint making sence please excuse me.

kizzy212 · 23/11/2004 17:55

is anyone else on her fertile this week???? (grin)

hester · 23/11/2004 18:01

Kizzy, at 16 you can pretty much get pregnant standing at opposite ends of a room! As you get older it gets harder, but the good news is that at 24 you are usually still very fertile. And if you're not, you have plenty of time to seek medical help. Take it from someone old enough to be your mother (oh god - jeddah, where are you in my hour of need!). So I do hope your stay with us will be a short but happy one. But be warned: there is almost nothing anyone can say that would shock us on this thread - apart from 'I don't really like chocolate', obviously.

one of ymfriends here mentioned about having a smear test done, my last one was done about 18 months ago, and I know they normally like to wait 3 years beefore testing agin, but is it worth asking for another one to be done? the last one was clear.

hester · 23/11/2004 18:28

Thanks for asking, munnzieb. I'm feeling low, to be honest, but loads better than last week. Am enjoying being back on the thread in the company of you gels. Oh, and I met our lovely Pamina3 for coffee earlier and she gave me a box of chocolates - have eaten most of them already

my friends*

munnzieb · 23/11/2004 18:29

lol, that was nice then, (don't worry aboutt he chocs, as i say we'll all be pg soon so it won't notice! lol.

hester · 23/11/2004 18:29

Not clear why your friend thinks a repeat smear would help, munnzie. Is there something I'm missing?

hester · 23/11/2004 18:30

This crossing threads is a bit odd, isn't it?

If you were here, munnzie, I'd let you share my chocolates. As it is, I am sadly forced to get through them all by myself.

munnzieb · 23/11/2004 18:32

I know it's odd, tell you what, i'll let you pick a choc fo me, and have it urself! lol.

we were talking about clomidya at the time and i'm sure i'm still clear as i've only been nr DH, but it's just to check all the goings on down there are normal as apparently that one can affect your fertility.

hester · 23/11/2004 18:37

Chlamydia is shockingly easy to get and not realise you have it. And it's very common these days. If your dh has slept with any other women, you may want to consider having a general sexual health screen. Normally I'd say why go looking for trouble, if there's no reason to suppose you have a particular disease why get uptight about the remote possibility, but I do happen to have experience of - ahem, embarrassed cough - being diagnosed with chlamydia which I reckon I had had for years without ever realising it .

Sorry girls, was that TMI? I warned you, kizzy...

OP posts:
munnzieb · 23/11/2004 18:46

er, well, i don't have any reason to doubt him, besides we'll be passing it back and forth! lol. i'll leave it then I think and see wht becomes of the gyno visit.

hester · 23/11/2004 18:58

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that your dp may have slept around - just meant that if he slept with anyone else BEFORE you met him... IYSWIM.

OP posts:
munnzieb · 23/11/2004 19:01

lol, don't worry, i had the smear done 2 yrs after we met and it was all ok.

RudyDudy · 23/11/2004 19:02

well things have certainly livened up on here! Thanks for the lovely BFPs to cheer us all up piffle and wilbur

Had a really annoying day (mainly a jobsworth at the council ggrrrrr!!!) so off to open a bottle of wine. See you later. Glug

wilbur · 23/11/2004 19:28

Thanks for all the lovely messages! And big congrats to piffle - does that mean we might be on the same "due in" thread? Yes, rudydudy, this will be my third (ds is about to be 4 and dd is 18 months) and that will be it for me. I feel very blessed to have the family I always wanted.

colinsmommy · 23/11/2004 19:53

Can I join, too? I never ever paid any attention to anything having to do with pregnancy, and can't believe how stupid I am about anything regarding TTC. Now we want #2, and am not at all sure what to do to actually try this time. Have been reading a lot this morning, though, and already feel better.
