Just a 2nd thread for people ttc after miscarriage ✨🌈

Hope you are all doing well ladies?! Practising a bit of self care over here 👈..went horse riding today for the first time in years and I've not been scrolling Mumsnet all day. Honestly I feel a million times better, going to try and stay positive and busy. Lots of baby dust to you all 💖 xx

@Cruz86 definitely it's a tough old road this ttc sometimes u need a good laugh 💕

Stupidly tested for HCG hoping to get a near negative even though still bleeding....how long does it take? :(

@Ganesh2022 honestly I've been up and down, really down this last week. But doing something just for me, which I enjoyed, seemed to press a reset button. I know I won't conceive with my current mindset..xx

Hi everyone been lurking for a while hoping to jump in hope you lovely ladies dont mind
I suffered a natural miscarriage on Christmas day at 7 weeks, already have a 14 month old girl and we were trying for baby no.2, absolutely devastated, miscarriage and negative test were confirmed by EPU on new years day. Ive decided not to wait as I’m absolutely desperate to be pregnant again and have been tracking my ovulation, looks like I’ve had positive ovulation tests for the past two days and negative today just like you @Skl2021 ! So am I now in my TWW or do I need to DTD again tonight? Have lots of fertile mucus too. We have been doing it pretty much everyday for two weeks as I was unsure of how my cycles would be after miscarriage so we are pretty sore and exhausted not sure when I can take a break

Also not sure if I need to add I’m still breastfeeding my little girl in the evening and night time and have been worried that may have caused it, all the health professionals say that there is no correlation. Just also wondered if any of you had experience with breastfeeding during a successful pregnancy x

@Ganesh2022 sorry your having a hard time. It's so frustrating when the tests are still positive. Mine didn't go negative until after first af 😩. It is very up and down some days better than others 💕 hope you feel a bit better soon ✨

@Cindy974 welcome I'm sorry to hear your joining this club too 😩 glad you have got positive tests and can try again. I would say you have ovulated or due to today bit like me! So tww would start tomorrow. But if you want to DTD again tonight then to make sure then go for it! Especially if you still have ewcm! Good luck with the tww 🤞 x

@Cindy974 so very sorry, and on xmas day :( To answer your question, I was breastfeeding my daughter (18 m) while trying to conceive our second; breastfed til third trimester. It started to hurt when she latched on, and supply dwindled so much she lost interest when she was just under 2 and I was nearly due, but pregnancy was totally fine and none of the midwives were concerned about it in terms of the pregnancy. And fwiw, her giving it up was pretty painless...for her. For me it was another story :P

@Skl2021 so you ovulated with HCG still in system? Don't want to miss it though sex is the furthest thing from my mind...

@Ganesh2022 yes I ovulated 3 weeks after miscarriage. Well I got positive ovulation tests so I presume I ovulated! Then my period came two weeks after like clockwork so I guess I did! My tests were faint tho so I can't have had much HCG left. X

Sorry you're finding things so difficult at the moment @Ganesh2022. I actually didn't do any tests following the mc because I couldn't bear to see a negative one. I only did one recently because I was convinced I fell pregnant the cycle straight after (even though we only had sex once) and it was so heartbreaking to see. I also found sex the first couple of times after the mc really difficult to do. Thinking of you x

Hi @Cindy974, sorry for your loss and what a terrible day for it to happen on 😞 I don't have any experience with bf and pregnancy because my son is now 4.5 and we're only just trying for our second! Hope you don't have to wait too long x

@Ganesh2022 thank you that is so reassuring to hear, I didn’t want to end our journey until she was ready too so happy that it won’t affect things and well done for having such a nice long breastfeeding journey. I guess you just look at everything you did and think what could have caused it and blame yourself so I was worried incase breastfeeding did that. I was blessed with such a lovely easy pregnancy with my DD so the miscarriage hit hard, although I always think the worst I never thought it would ever happen to me I guess. Awful how common it is but so lovely to have people to talk to to share our journeys x

@Cruz86 Thanks so much, it's really been a day... it does help just to say it like it is to people who are going through it/have gone through it, too. I think I'll test every week, every day will destroy me. So heartbreaking when you want it so badly; my fingers are crossed for youand everyone elsefor this coming cycle.

@Cindy974 My sonresult of aforementioned pregnancyhas just about stopped at 5! I never set out to go that long, it just kept going and amidst a whole sea of things that didn't go easily that has been one thing that has, and that's been very nice! I know, I'm also looking at everything I did and trying to find a reason, I think our brains like things neat and tidy and if there is a reason it means we can try to avoid it and it feels more controlled :( I've heard of a couple of people having trouble conceiving while breastfeeding, b/c their body just wouldn't let them ovulate, but never that it could cause an issue once pregnant. I even know some superheroes who fed the toddler and the baby at the same time.

Oh, I definitely couldn't have tested every day @Ganesh2022. Be kind to yourself and try to steer clear of the things that will bring you upset and pain. If you're still bleeding, I wouldn't worry with testing just yet ❤️

@Skl2021 did your opks turn really dark and then faint again or were they just a little bit dark? 😂 I've just done another one and it's sooo nearly there now!! X

@Cruz86 you're right, not sure why I thought it would be nearly gone...I wish I could just pretend this is my period and then not care, but...it becomes so obsessive over here. Not how 2022 was supposed to start...

@Cindy974 re: people having trouble conceiving while breastfeeding...just to clarify (anything re ttc can make me spin out so would never wanna do it to others lol) these were people with tiny babies, and they just hadn't gotten their cycles back yet at that point xx

@Cruz86 well mine have been really dark all month hence me DTD all month 🤣 I thought I was near ovulation and I guess I wasn't then they went like darker than the control! I would say your hitting peak if it's getting darker! 🤞 Tomorrow or day after 🙌 xx

Hi everyone, was lurking on the last thread, so hoping I can join again? TTC #1 and has MMC Dec 2021. I had to come off Mumsnet for the old mental health as I got a horrid EVAP on FRER and it knocked me for six.

I've just started my first AF since the surgery (after spotting for five days running up whilst I've been on hols, fun ) and feeling a bit fragile but pleased we're onto a new cycle.

I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on tracking without going mad. I use OPKs but should I be doing BBT to ensure that I actually ovulate? I got a high OPK last month but my period came before the end of the TWW so I'm assuming I didn't ovulate?
I don't want to obsess but I also want to get it right and give myself the best chance!

I'm sorry for dipping in and out of threads but I'm not very good at regulating when Mumsnet is a positive, and very helpful, versus 4am obsessively reading things and catastrophising I'm working on it!

@Ganesh2022 that’s amazing! Well my periods came back about six months post partum when she started to drop feeds and then when we wanted to start actually “trying” it only took two cycles which I couldn’t believe but then obviously it ended the way it did Im worried about being pregnant now i think like people say it takes the shine away when something like that happens and brings worry. I would love to tandem feed but i guess ill see how it goes! Sending you baby dust

@Skl2021 We DTD last night hoping thats enough now dont have to do it today do we glad I have a TWW buddy. I feel sick this morning but think that was the takeaway last night haha!
