Anyone fancy starting an ongoing thread for those who are having IVF/ are planning to try again via IVF soon?

Ds was conceived via IVF - he's now 2.6 and we're stepping back on the scary rollercoaster ride with a FET - I started taking the drugs yesterday!

Bambilocket, don't worry about the cyst, it may be just your lead follicle, a bit ahead of the game. I am always warned about OHSS, I think I had it the first ivf cycle I did, but very mildly. Just drink loads of water, and the real sign is if after treatment (about 5 days) you become breathless or your symptoms become worse and not better, I shouldn't worry about it too much, it is v rare to get seriously and is usually just v uncomfortable!

soosy, your advice is spot on. by the way, did the bank give the right answer?

bambi, have you had another scan? how are you feeling?

CD1 here so we're booking in! Will mean we're actually doing EC/ET in the last week of May, which still seems ages away. I'm feeling excited and nervous all together.

ps have started over on booties as I found a modification for newborn size (original pattern comes out far too large) but I promise I will get them done before babymakecakes arrives

I had scan agai this am. Cyst is now 5cm and other follicles coming up fast too. My dose of puregon has been dropped to 150 from 250 and probably going to bring my ec forward to next Monday (was Tuesday). I'm getting excited now. This time next week I will be pg (even if it's only a brief one). Am I being foolish by kidding myself that this means that my ancient and flabby old bod is doing better than expected and therefore IT'S GOING TO WORK!!!! My mum always expounds on the power of positive thinking!
PS do cysts explode?

Hi Bambilocket I'm getting excited for you too - not long now! I have no idea about cysts expoloding - it doesn't sound good though. I am still checking on this thread every now and again but I'm currently waiting for day 21 to arrive so I can actually start the down-reg drugs and get this show on the road. I have a hypno CD for ttc which a friend sent me so I'm going to give that a try - I believe in positive mental attitude too and if it works/I like it then I'm going to get the IVF one too (it's got one CD for before EC/ET and one for after)

Bambi Hope you're ok and they didn't cancel your treatment and you've got loads of eggs today.

ooh I hope they all do well - 10 sounds good to me, is it a good number of eggs? I really don't know what to expect!

Hi again, just had the call to say that one of the 10 was immature and only 5 have fertilsed. Of course you only need one but I'm a bit disappointed as it's not so good as last time (10 eggs, 7 fertilised) which produced dd. Still, it's just a roller coaster isn't it! The consultant said he was hoping to collect 10 - 12 eggs so I presume that's a good number (not sure if it's a good number given my age (40) or just a good number...got a feeling younger women produce a lot more)...so et will be tomorrow at 1pm!!!!!!!!!!!! got to get my morale back up again asap...wish I'd had the spare cash to do the acupuncture now! 2ww here I come, anyone at the same point?

Not as good as last time but still good. Will you have 2 replaced? Will you freeze any others? I really ought to think to ask the clinic about how many to expect, I realise how much I don't know about all this now!

Bambi, well done! that's not bad at all. Age has something to do with how many eggs, but not everything. I know someone in her mid thirties who is lucky to get 3 eggs from the harvest. We're all sending those bubbles lots of positive thoughts and hoping they're dividing evenly and well. I hope you're relaxing and feeling ok after the anaesthetic.

me again! Yes, doing my best to relax given that the clinic phoned back to postpone my ET til tomorrow as the nurse taht was going to do it today has a personal matter. Hope she's ok. Man, this cycle is NOT going to plan, still it ain't over yet.

Many thanks for the postive thoughts. I suppose that the extra day might actually help to work out which emby's are doing better. I was considering asking about letting them go to day 5, anyone done that? I'm a bit reluctant about freezing any from this cycle (if any are good enough) as I need there to be an end of IVF in sight - for my sanity.

Our house buyers mortgage has been approved so things seem to be going the right way and I may have found a house for us to move to, only problem is that DH has to see it on Saturday and I think it may be a popular one, so might have move quickly and pay the asking price, which although we can it seems odd to in this market.

I am waiting for af to arrive so that we can do an FET, and of course I think i am going to have a longer cycle, should be due today, but no sign yet....

Can I just ask is it normal to have a little bit of blood after baseline scan/trial ET? I'm assuming so (guess catheter nicked lining?) but thought it might be wise to ask the wisdom of MN

You may have a tiny bit of blood after trial ET, did you have any cramping during the trial ET as they my have irritated the cervix, more likely than nicking the lining as the catheters are quite soft. But I would ask the clinic, just to be sure.

Af arrived today so I suppose I should ring for a day 7 scan for FET!

Hello ladies, thank you SO much for your good wishes, it really helps! I had two 10 cell grade 3 (4 being the hightest) embryo's transferred. The others were not good enough to freeze. FINGERS CROSSED! I woke up boiling and had really vivid dreams last night but do realise that that's going to be due to the progesterone rather than the emby's - much too soon for symptoms (not too soon to start trying to spot them tho). I feel quite hopeful as the emby's looked so much better than the two that were transferred after the FET last NOvember, they did not look well, even to my untrained eye. So, what do you think? I was really happy about them being 10 cells until I read something about overdevelopment....hmmm, you just have not choice but to wait and see 2ww, slightly reduced by having a day three transfer, 12 days to go! Hoping everyone is getting the lovely weather we're getting here!

Oh and

nomore...I was told I might get some spotting after the transfer!

It didn't turn into anything too heavy - more like a little bit of blood streaked in CM/discharge from lube the doc did say I would feel a crampy AF type pain as she put the catheter in and I did - exactly when she said "about now"
Bambi That sounds good if they're both good grade embryos, fingers crossed for you for the next two weeks. We really deserve a BFP on here don't we (or two..or three..)
