I'd be testing if it was due in the next couple of days, I think with my first I did after about 10 days!

Shabz22 · 30/12/2021 19:58

Congratulations to all those with BFPs! So lovely to see tests with 2 lines 😍

I don't temp here either, I tried it for one month and they were all over the place, it stressed me out more than helped me pin point OV so I didn't bother again.

I don't think I'm going to even take opks this month. Feb will be a year since I had my coil out, and although we did have to stop trying for a few months so I wasn't heavily pregnant for our wedding this year, and we did have a MC too, I really thought things might have happened by now. I'm testing from 6dpo recently and it's not healthy, so if I don't know when I ovulated, I'm hoping I can just wait until AF is due and test then if it hasn't shown up.

I feel like the longer it's taking, the less interested OH is in trying. We ummed and ahhed for so long about a 3rd (would be his 4th) and left it too long really, our youngest is 7 now and OH feels like he's getting too old. I'm the opposite and just want it more and more each month, but I do get where he's coming from. Nothing is ever easy is it 🙄

MindZGap · 30/12/2021 20:26

Wow it's impossible to keep up with this thread - you go away for a few hours and so much has happened 😁 Congrats on those sneaking a BFP into 2021 at the last minute, amazing stuff.

That's hard @shabz22 when you feel like you're in different headspaces with it

madeleine85 · 30/12/2021 20:26

@Sunrise321 I had a 10/11 day luteal and got a BFP this cycle. The changes I made were to take extra vitamin C and B6 to lengthen the luteal. God knows if it worked, or if it was one of the other 50 things I tried lol. Might be worth a shot!

MindZGap · 30/12/2021 20:29

I think stress can stop ovulation @jazmine38 and its possible to have random cycles where you don't ovulate. But keep testing as it may be your body tries again a little later.

Or it may have ovulated and you missed the peak reading? That's why I started temping this month as felt I was missing things with OPKs alone.

jazmine38 · 30/12/2021 20:42

Thanks @MindZGap tmi but defo no EWCM. Last day tomorrow for a week I'll defo keep using the OPKs and hope my body sorts itself out 🙄

muddypuddlejumping · 30/12/2021 20:45

@Shabz22 if you don't mind, how old are you? I do worry about how long it will take now I'm mid 30s. It's so impossible to know whether there will be a negative impact.

HeyFloof · 30/12/2021 20:51

@jazmine38

Can work stress stop you ovulating? Started back on Wednesday and the ovulation strips were progressing nicely until today when they dropped a good bit. Work has been horrible App says due to ovulate Saturday but I seriously doubt it now 😏
Don't forget there's no real "progression" ad such with OPKs. It's not like pregnancy testing with a bfp.

Your luteal hormone levels rise and drop all cycle depending on what time of day you take the test, how much you've had to drink etc.

The only real thing you need to concentrate on is when you get a positive. That's your surge. Then it's about 12-24 hours till you release an egg.

So just DTD every other day or so prior, so that the sperm can be there to meet the egg is the best way to be prepared for ovulation.

Nico89 · 30/12/2021 20:55

@madeleine85 I'm pretty sure you already said but I can't find the post. How many dpo did you get bfp?

madeleine85 · 30/12/2021 21:05

@Nico89 I was 10 dpo. I don’t think it would have come much earlier tbh as the line was very faint. How many are you on?

jazmine38 · 30/12/2021 21:10

@HeyFloof mmm I did test at 6pm today I normally do the test around 2-3pm. But defo no EWCM which is a dead giveaway for me. So no peak yet and no DTD tonight as im so tired I could fall asleep standing up 😅 one of my colleagues announced her pregnancy today too.

What cheap pregnancy tests do you buy? Last time I bought clear blue but they're not cheap ha.

Diamondbabe · 30/12/2021 21:22

I think they're worth it if you can resist testing until a couple of days before your due lol

Nico89 · 30/12/2021 21:29

@madeleine85 only 6dpo currently. I was aiming to not test until after AF is due (due weds) but with the random spotting yesterday and crying over a film I have watched 100 times today! 🙈 I'm hopelessly starting to wonder if there is something to it and wondering about testing a bit earlier.

madeleine85 · 30/12/2021 21:37

@Nico89 that would really be great, I hope that it is a sign! I read that if it is an implantation bleed then it takes 3-5 days for hormones to get strong enough to test positive. Maybe you could test at the weekend to see with a more sensitive test?

CB89 · 30/12/2021 22:04

Hi everyone,
Congratulations on all the BFP x
Can i join?!
CD4 for me, 1st month TTC baby number 2, Little boy has just turned 4.
Fingers crossed for you all.

Nico89 · 30/12/2021 22:08

@madeleine85 I have a FRER stashed in the cupboard that I have saved for time when I think it might actually be it. I'm going to hold out over the weekend and if no signs of impending AF then I may test Monday if I can't hold out til Wednesday. The past few cycles I have spotted for 3 days before AF turning up properly so I would hopefully notice if things are a bit different this cycle and if it is worth testing.

Only 4 more days

Nico89 · 30/12/2021 22:09

Will be 10dpo Monday

jazmine38 · 30/12/2021 22:12

@Diamondbabe easy@home pregnancy tests are really good. You can get them on Amazon x

Coastaldreamer · 30/12/2021 22:14

Hi all!
Can I join?!
TTC baby no 2, my little girl is 19 months.

Already planning my OPKs etc for this first cycle and forgot just how down the rabbit hole you can go Blush

Wishing everyone a BFP!!

Diamondbabe · 30/12/2021 22:20

Thanks how early can you test with them?

Shabz22 · 30/12/2021 22:21

@muddypuddlejumping I'm 30, which doesn't concern me at all, but my OH is 38 and has been a parent since he was 23 so I can see why he's not so keen on starting again as time goes on. My parents didn't have me until mid 30s, then had my brother late 30s with no issues both times and apparently conceived quickly. It's just hard to know isn't it, it's something you don't think about until it's a problem. Sending you lots of luck, and I hope you get your bfp soon!

Well CD 29, sore nipples but just did a Clearblue digi test ahead of NYE (🥂) and it’s a ‘NOT PREGNANT’. So I guess that’s it.

Back to drawing board next week and see if I can get a scan to see if there is remaining tissue from my MC in Oct.

Now just need AF to come so get the ball rolling again 🙄
