Ttc #1 and cycle 1. Anyone else?

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5

How are your new journeys going?

@lakejupiter I've not done temping, I'd forget and found it confusing. How have you been getting on with it?

@RMS0209 ooh I just had a team meeting and only my manager was in the office for it, I quickly changed out of my pjs 5 mins before the call 😂

I’ve been temping this cycle but I don’t think I’ve been doing it very well. Not always the same time every morning.

I’m currently bursting for a wee lol but Im trying to hold it until after 12.

My morning OPK with FMU was 0.25 so slightly higher than yesterday.

I have to remind myself that this is normal for my cycle length. CD16 is the average on a 30 day cycle. I’m only on CD14. Last month when I got my peak on CD13 that is actually early for a 30 day cycle. I think I shouldn’t have started testing so early on because that’s why it feels like it’s never going to come so my own fault lol

@Newbiemg that's what we are here for, to listen! Good job on the chocolate and biscuits, I wouldn't be able to give them up! I'm also on tea number 5 and I didn't wake up until 08:45. I was late as I normally log on for 08:00, the dog kindly woke me up 😂

Hi @Newbiemg - I was told you shouldn't use OPKs with FMU but I might be wrong...totally get you on the early testing!

Yes this is my first cycle TTC after a lot of planning/ovulation tracking/admin w my coparent. Hopefully I chill out!

@SMD16 I have been getting on okay with it but a) have been using a super basic boots own brand digital thermometer, which prob isn't accurate enough and b) I don't always wake up at the same time each day and have terrible "sleep hygiene" lol, so I'm not sure my readings are very accurate. I've bought a femometer which is a bit more accurate so will start using that instead and might try to get better at waking up at the same time every day...

Checking in ladies! All this biscuit talk is making me peckish!

@lakejupiter we can do it! I'm holding off testing again until Thursday/Friday and it it was just a false positive, that's dry Jan gone out the window this weekend!

@Newbiemg I hope cold is a pregnancy sign as I'm feeling abit sniffly myself! I've also had such a bad back over the last few days 🤞😬

@lakejupiter I have read that too about FMU but I was thinking if I also test afternoon and evening and pay more attention to those ones should be ok. With the CB tests you have to use FMU so I tend to just use the cheapie too with the same urine just because I have it there.

I have the Femometer bbt thermometer too but same as you haven’t been tracking at the same time every morning so not sure how accurate I've been.

@Newbiemg that makes sense! And yeah it's confusing that the CB sticks need FMU but the OPK sticks don't. I basically enjoy any opportunity to POAS so I think I did some morning OPKs too.

@5manc yes let's stay strong! How many DPO are you now? I'm 8dpo - AF due 24th/25th

@lakejupiter I'm guessing 'sleep hygiene' means sleeping with your mouth open? If so then yes I would be no good for the BBT testing 😂 I can't breathe through my nose at night with my sinuses lol.

Ooh let's hope a cold is a pregs symptom although I'm only 4 DPO so be too early yet.

@RMS0209 I would like to say I will wait until next week to test but tbh I think I will probably start testing Thu or Fri - never thought I'd be one of those people but it's too long to wait!! How about you?

@SMD16 by sleep hygiene I mean getting 8 hours, going to bed and getting up at a consistent time etc. I'm rubbish at all that though trying to take sleep more seriously as part of TTC self care! But yes I also sleep with my mouth wide open and have been known to snore 😴

@lakejupiter maybe we should test together for support, I'm scared already.
I'm thinking Saturday . It's my mums birthday on Thursday so don't want to be sad then if it's negative x

Okay @RMS0209 we can test together, this might help my resolve as my Amazon delivery just came and it has FRER & cheap HCG tests in it 🙈 but after testing way too early yesterday and feeling silly for doing so I may have got my urge to POAS out of the way for a few days!

Friday with FMU sounds more realistic for my bonkers desire to POAS tbh @RMS0209 - and yeah I know what you mean about the nerves.

On a side note has anyone thought about a lot further down the line when it comes to SMP? I've just got my payslip this month and I've paid more in Tax and NI then a monthly amount of SMP... it's got me worried about how on earth i'm going to adjust 😂
