@TheDaydreamBelievers Woohoo for Letrozole! I really hope this is just the ticket you need Grin

@Gracie2021 I hope your IUI went well?

I'm CD5 and on my last cycle of Clomid... i'm not hopeful. But...

I had my follow up appointment with the consultant today. She gave me two options for my 'next steps': Private IUI, or NHS IVF. I said that I had previously considered both procedures and was keep to pursue IVF.

She said the waiting list was pretty short at the moment, and as we tick all the boxes the funding should come through about 4 weeks after my partner and I have had a BMI check at the clinic.

My next appointment would be at the clinic with a nurse who will show us how to inject, talk us through IVF in more detail and witness us signing the consent forms. Consent forms will be sent in the post shortly.

She mentioned that my risk of OHSS was higher and as a result I would likely need daily blood tests/scans, so it was good that I live close to the clinic. If I get more than 25 follicles then they will cancel, but I can continue to take Metformin which will help reduce the risk of OHSS.

So this is it... its starting to happen... eek!

Oops... looks like I missed a whole page of chat here!

Congrats @ChinChilly, a little girl... how wonderful!!

SkeletonSkins · 15/02/2022 18:43

Oh wow @Kay00 I am so happy for you that there’s not going to be lots of waiting. So will it be pretty quick after this cycle then that you can get started?

8DPO for me. BFN this morning but not sure what I expected really or why I even tested - just couldn’t help myself. Have had two days of brown spotting, very sore nipples and period cramps so was convinced my period was coming but it’s not arrived yet. All symptoms have stopped for now so who knows. Wouldn’t be surprised to see AF tomorrow BUT to be honest, I’m just over the moon to have ovulated, so whilst obviously I’d rather not see AF, in many ways it’s a massive achievement for me.

Kay00 · 15/02/2022 18:59

@skeletonskins thank you 😊 I think it could happen fairly quickly, with down regs starting in April or May, she suggested egg collection could be in June.

Congrats on ovulating and making it to 8dpo 🙌 its still very early to test as most eggs don't implant until 9dpo and then it can take a couple of days for hcg levels to rise enough for you to get a positive test. I have my fingers crossed for you! 🤞

MissC07 · 15/02/2022 19:03

@Ams19 so lovely of you to pop back in! How are you getting on?

Ams19 · 16/02/2022 07:21

Hi @MissC07 im good thank you! Still so invested in you all i try to check back when i can. My little rainbow twin boys are a month today 🥰 so excited to see you all get your little ones, whatever the journey ❤❤

MissC07 · 16/02/2022 07:44

@Ams19 they are so gorgeous!! So glad you are all doing well ☺️

Juno231 · 16/02/2022 08:05

@Ams19 aaah look at those little fellas! How are you coping with the twins so far? Must be twice as hard! Did OH get some paternity leave to help?

@chinchilly yay for another girl! Is your morning sickness completely gone now? Have you been buying things for the baby yet?

@Kay00 @TheDaydreamBelievers I'm so glad things are moving forward for you and hopefully we'll see your bfps very soon!

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow. No bump yet and now I've got no scan for another 7 weeks so I'm in that weird limbo where if I didn't know I was pregnant there would be nothing indicate I was 😅

ChinChilly · 16/02/2022 08:18

@Ams19 oh my gosh look at those two, how adorable 😍

@Juno231 I was so shocked when I saw pink 🤣 I was convinced she was going to be a boy I was almost buying blue 🤣 so it's taken a couple of days for it to sink in, we brought a couple of bits in the tesco clothing sale last night while we were doing the shop but apart from that nothing 🙈 need to get organised! Have you brought much? The sickness is still lingering but I'd say I'm 75% better and able to eat normally.

@Kay00 that's really exciting! So pleased the wheels are in motion for you x

Ams19 · 16/02/2022 09:13

@Juno231 not going to sugar coat it...it is so bloody hard! I got a total of 75mins sleep last night. But wouldn't change it for the world. Feel so blessed to have them, i just miss sleep Smile
Yes he has been off for the whole month. Back today but works from home and only back 3 days a week until April so I'm super lucky.

Enjoy every second of your pregnancy. Take all the bump pics. It feels like it goes slow but you'll miss it when the little ones are here!

Gracie2021 · 16/02/2022 10:16

@Ams19 the cuteness. Congratulations, they're so gorgeous.

@ChinChilly girls all round at the moment so. Glad ye got the big reveal even if she made ye work for it.

@Juno231 glad you're doing well and hope the time flies til your next scan.

So brilliant that you got your dates @Kay00. Think you're dead right going straight to IVF. Statistically IUI only adds an extra 5% over clomid cycles so when IVF is an option dead right to go for it. Sounds like they'll be on top of things keeping an eye on you with the daily scans. Great to hear good news for you.

Fingers crossed AF holds off @SkeletonSkins and as you say brilliant that you ovulated! Funny what you said about the temping anxiety, I stopped for the same reason, just found it had me starting my day thinking about TTC every time.

Fingers crossed the Letrozole works well for you @TheDaydreamBelievers. What dose are you on?

IUI went well. They were chuffed with my OHs numbers, 56m injected in which I have to be honest, was a very weird thought. Least one of us is working well. Just paid the balance for our duo stim rounds in March now and they're adding clomid to the protocol. I also queried a dual trigger today. Dr google remains alive and kicking. My doctor will hate me 😂😂🙈🙈

Kay00 · 16/02/2022 12:36

@Ams19 oh wow, super huge congratulations on your twin boys 😍 they are so gorgeous 😍

@gracie2021 @chinchilly @juno231 thanks 😊 I'm still building up the courage to tell my mum... but need to do it soon before the Mexico holiday is booked 😆

The clinic (Exeter Fertility) has pretty poor results amd some bad reviews... which worries me somewhat 😅 but it is based on old data and I think they had a bit of an overhaul a couple of years ago, so I'm hoping they have improved. They seem attentive and on the ball so far, so no complaints from me, but if things don't work out and I need to pay private then I'll probably choose a more successful clinic in Plymouth or Bristol.

Ams19 · 16/02/2022 12:40

Ah thanks so much ladies! Worth the wait 🥰

ChinChilly · 16/02/2022 20:41

@Kay00 I wouldn't worry too much about the reviews, people tend to complain more than they compliment these days.

I was told at work today I will need to permanently work from home once I'm 28 weeks because our corporate guidelines aren't changing around pregnant women and covid, quite sad really because I'm quite a sociable person and I like the general chit chat of the office, also means I've only got about 9 weeks left in the office.

Juno231 · 16/02/2022 21:44

@Kay00 oh god it's pretty damning on the hfea website isn't it 😬. Their 2020 data on their website looks a lot better though so hopefully it's even better by now.

@ChinChilly from 28 weeks already! Perhaps you'll end up okay with it depending on how uncomfortable the third trimester ends up being? I can't believe you get nauseous still though 😱

ChinChilly · 16/02/2022 22:18

@Juno231 I know! I guess on the brightside I won't have to worry about not fitting into my work wear! Haha. Yep I'm still on one anti sickness tablet a day aswell, my GP is starting to get abit twitchy about me having them still but honestly I still need one to get through the day, I'd love to stop taking them.

Kay00 · 16/02/2022 23:38

@juno231 I know right? 😕 hopefully they have improved a little in the last couple of years.

@chinchilly that will be a bit of an adjustment, but could be a blessing too. Will have much opportunity to video conference colleagues, so you still get a chance to chat face to face?

ChinChilly · 17/02/2022 07:54

@Kay00 I think you're right, atleast I'll be able to be comfortable at home when I'm the size of a house in the summer 🤣 we have a team meeting once a month so we do those face to face atm but I'll have to join virtually. Some of my job involves dealing with the public so it is best I'm not here after 28 weeks.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/02/2022 20:28

No idea @Gracie2021. They can't do anything till next period and sadly because they cancelled the appt on the Thursday when they saw us on Friday it was CD3 so too late

mrsmacmc · 18/02/2022 15:53

Hi all

Sorry I've been MIA, nowt much to report as been playing the waiting game for lap & dye which I was told had a years wait list from December. Explored our medical insurance and because it was related to TTC they wouldn't cover it (worth a try) and we had started to save to pay privately which was quoted in the region of 5k. Anyhoo, I got a call this morning as they've had a cancellation slot which I've jumped on for the 10th March! Let's see if it shows anything 🤞🏻

mrsmacmc · 18/02/2022 15:54

@Ams19

Hi *@MissC07* im good thank you! Still so invested in you all i try to check back when i can. My little rainbow twin boys are a month today 🥰 so excited to see you all get your little ones, whatever the journey ❤❤
Congratulations 🥰
Kay00 · 18/02/2022 16:12

@mrsmacmc oh phew! That's much closer than December 2022!! How are you getting on generally?

mrsmacmc · 18/02/2022 16:33

Agree @Kay00, nothing much happening really 🤷‍♀️

Still getting horrid 🩸 along with cramps from hell and mid cycle bleeding. Had a really long cycle after my COVID booster but it seems to have righted itself again.

I've lost a stone in weight with a stone to go as our referral to IVF clinic goes in next month and my bmi needs to be 30 or below before start of any treatment. The referral is to be added to their wait list 😂 feels like work where they love a meeting about a meeting. When I get the final stone off my bmi will be 28.8 so it gives me wiggle room 😂 Very jealous of DH as he's lost 1stone2lb so far!

How's things in your world 🥰

Kay00 · 19/02/2022 22:44

Excellent weight loss! Well done @mrsmacmc 👏 I'm hoping to start IVF in the next few months so will be starting a big health kick too. Im within BMI range but want to be as healthy as possible 😊

mrsmacmc · 20/02/2022 23:30

@Kay00 thank you 😀 I don't 'feel' like I've lost it though 😂 I know I have as my clothes feel different and I had to buy smaller work trousers.

🤞🏻 for your IVF journey 🥰
