@SkeletonSkins welcome back! You and I are similar 'vintage' - I've been trying since march 2020. I also have v long cycles but not PCOS, unknown reason.

Have you been referred to fertility services yet? My initial appt with them is soon.

So sorry AF showed her head @TheDaydreamBelievers but great that you can go ahead with the Hycosy. Hopefully 10th Feb comes quickly. Glad it's all lining up for you.

No not referred to fertility yet, gynae said they would refer me in April if the metformin doesn’t do anything. I’d rather get in the list now to be honest but I’ll just have to wait. If we get to April and it’s going to be over a year wait or soemtning I’ll potentially pay for some of the tests/a round of ovulation drugs privately I think.

My metformin is officially ready, going to collect it later and start tonight after my tea. RIP my stomach!

@thedaydreambelievers Boo! ITs good that your HyCoSy can go ahead though, and I cannot see why the Assisted Conception clinic wouldn't accept the NHS test results.

I'm not sure what is going on. I'm 17DPO and have been spotting for 5 days. The first two days it was very light, watery and light pink: so definitely spotting. The last three days it has been a bit darker, but not heavy enough to consider full flow, nothing bright red and no big clots. I don't know when to count CD1 ?? Maybe CD1 hasn't happened yet? I had bad cramps yesterday and more cramps today, but still nothing to warrant wearing a pad.

Urgh. I know I'm not pregnant, so just want CD1 to show up, and I need to know when that is so I can start to take my Clomid.

I was also diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed Metformin. I have got on really well with this medication; a few episodes of nausea whenever I upped the dose, and I am no longer a fan of Nutella (sad, I know!) but I have no side effects now and i'm on 2000mg per day. My cycles are much more regular and I seem to ovulate on around CD14.

I was also prescribed Clomid to force a stronger ovulation which has been working well, but I'm on my 5th cycle now (I think... see above message for the confusion) and no pregnancy yet. Hopefully Metformin will help bring your cycles into line. Has anyone spoken to you about Clomid yet?

Sorry, I just re-read and you're not with a fertility clinic yet. Hopefully the Metfromin helps you as much as it did me. Although I have to also say, that I started taking Conceive Plus Ovulation support about a month before I started the Metformin and that cycle was much shorter too, so I take them both side by side.

@SkeletonSkins I would ask the gynae now if they could refer you again. They should refer at a year trying, which you are well past. Plus the assisted conception clinics have loads of waits so faster on the list is better!

That’s a good point, why drag it out any longer?!

@SkeletonSkins I go by the "can't hurt to ask" approach too sometimes. Worst they can do is say no....

Working away through the last TSI here and I won't miss them tbh. Triggered last night and have managed the last three days so -3 to -1 which is good for us. Will try catch this evening or tomorrow too just to give the last medicated cycle the best chance we can. Was thinking this might be the only time we make money doing the deed as if it works we save ourselves thousands 😂😂🙈🙈 however need to call and order all my IVF meds too as the pharmacy needs a weeks notice so can't wait to see how this cycle pans out before ordering them. Oh well!

@Gracie2021 not happening today anymore! Period still too full on. So next week (and unless I get covid19 I cant see anything stopping that going ahead).

@Kay00 any luck AF wise today? I can't believe your LPs just kept getting longer.

Not much to report here. I'm 9+2 now and have a scan/NIPT booked in for Tuesday. Once that comes back okay I'll be able to relax a lot more I think! It also means I'm finding out the sex this month which I'm super excited about.

@TheDaydreamBelievers a pain to have it delayed but glad it's for sure next week for you anyway.

@Juno231 best of luck for your scan. So exciting to get the gender too. Will you be sharing or keeping it a secret for you and your partner? You've actually given me such hope for this last cycle. I'm sitting there saying to myself "well if it can happen for June right before IVF" 😂😂😂 how are you feeling these days? I'll be murdered if we have multiples as I convinced my hubby that triggering later than advised was worth the risk. The words "what's the worst that can happen" may have been mentioned 😂😂😂

@Gracie2021 I think we'll be sharing as our parents are dying to know and we'd feel awkward arbitrarily telling them they can't know 😅. If he murders you it'll be a quadruple homicide no? 🤣. Honestly I really hope one sticks for you! I still very much wonder what the heck was different about my 24th egg that randomly made it work.

I'm CD10. Have ovulated CD11 on last 3 cycles. Loads of EWCM last few days and positive OPKs (not that they can be trusted with my hormones). Anyhow, I'm such a crappy mood because we haven't had sex since CD6 and I've been knocked back for the past few nights! I've stopped short of saying "ffs I don't care if you are tired, we need to do it NOW" but I've been heavily persuasive!! How do you guys handle this?? How do I put the pressure on without putting the pressure on?

This morning I almost had a weepy moment when he suggested sex later this evening and then I said we'd probably missed the boat but that it probably didn't matter as much ovaries were completely done in anyhow.

Just back from acupuncture. Was meant to be relaxing but actually I was in such a mood as I feel we've missed our slim chance this month. And then I get depressed because why am I getting angry when my ovaries aren't working anyhow??

God, bring on the IVF. I'm so done with TTC today.

@WhirlingD I dont have an answer for you but I understand 10000%. I'm actually a bit worried for starting medicated cycles as it'll bring it back to trying to have sex on specific dates and I still remember 6 months ago getting really upset and angry when DH was "too tired" some nights or once when he struggled with the pressure [ahem]. That, of course, is then extremely sexy, a crying woman shouting "but it has to be today!".

We have really benefitted from taking a big step back the last two cycles/5 months, though that was mainly due to losing faith that its gonna happen naturally anyways. Different situation and your shoes I would feel the same as you do.

I do wonder - if you have a conversation about it I would maybe avoid doing so when already in bed? Maybe a calm message during the day to say 'I'm keen to get naked with you tonight so we don't miss our window and also cause I miss being close to you'? Trying to make it positive focused and casual (when I know you feel anything but casual!)

@WhirlingD PS: I also feel like "bring on the IVF" - I know IVF is shitty in so so many ways but at least it totally seperates your sex life from your conceiving! I feel like in many ways TTC has kinda ruined sex for me - so much "well we really should" sex. Even on the nights where its really great, I find myself thinking "wouldn't it be nice if that was the time that worked".

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm completely with you on that. I'm just looking forward to TTC being completely separate to our sex life again. Even knowing that we "have to" this evening or tomorrow takes the sheen off the whole thing.....

@Juno231 will be lovely to be able to share it with them and it'll start being real. Do ye have any guesses or keeping an open mind? Quadruple homicide 😂😂😂 god forbid. Wouldn't say no to a nice set of twins tbh and wouldn't even have to worry about TTC again. God I'd take anything at this point.

@WhirlingD so sorry you're having such a rough time of it. 100% been there and it's rotten. At first I found the medicated cycles helped as at least there was only pressure around the trigger day and the rest of the month it was "recreational sex"..... 🙈 but the pressure is so much and it 100% takes away from the fun/romance of it. In two ways IVF takes pressure off for me, firstly on that side of things and also the potential to have embryos banked and assuming success, not to have to go through this bloody awful process again. Picturing trying to juggle medicated cycles etc with a smallie.... also 100% getting ahead of myself on that one. Sorry this turned into a bit of a tangent but just to say I've been there and it sucks!!

In terms of advice I give mine a heads up when I need to "jump" him and try to keep it to 2-3 days max around trigger. Giving it socks this month since we have three follicles and success now would save us 💰 but the fourth go tonight might be dodgy 😂🙈

@juno231 wow, you'll know the sex soon, that's come along really quickly! I'm going to guess a little girl .

I decided this cycle had no definite beginning so I made yesterday CD1. Even though the day started with light bleeding, it was dark, and ended up heavy by the evening. So I started my Clomid again today, i'm doing:

CD2-6, 25mg, 25mg, 25mg, 50mg, 50mg

I also called the fertility clinic yesterday and I'm on a list for the 'next steps' call with the consultant. The lady on the phone said there was still hope I could get pregnant in the next two cycles, and a callously laughed at her, maybe that was a bit mean, but it just came out .

@Gracie2021 @TheDaydreamBelievers thank you! Lovely to have your support. I've decided to put a smile on my face for the rest of today. What is really not sexy is me huffing and puffing around the house and being passive aggressive because I'm annoyed I'm being turned down. I will try to have a nice chat (outside the bedroom!) about the importance of timing (dh seems to think that you just have sex anytime and babies happen, because that's the way it was for him at 25!!) and the fact that unfortunately DTD needs to be prioritised for a few days. But I'm not having that conversation tonight! Too raw.

I may also remind him that I probably can't have sex during the whole IVF cycle and he'll have to save up for his deposit for a few days before that. So he should get it while he can....

@Kay00 I understand the laughing at the lady on the phone. A few friends have said similar things to me and I just laugh rather than going through my whole life story!

@WhirlingD I'm lucky that my OH has a high sex drive and can easily be persuaded even when he isn't in the mood. But he has told me that he finds it off putting if I talk about ovulation/cycles/babies etc around sex, so I try not to ( although apparently I'm not very good at this).

My OH is also of the belief that you can DTD any time and you get pomegranate, he said the other day "I'm not surprised we're not pregnant, because we hardly ever have sex". I swiftly explained that we have hit every ovulation for the past 19 months with good to great coverage!

My OH prefers not to know when it’s an important time but then I find myself worrying like you say about whether we’ll do the deed at the right time. What hasn’t helped is the number of times I’ve been like, okay we’ve smashed it, definitely ovulating and definitely covered, and then ovulation fails and it’s back to square one. It ends up me going off it!!

Second day of metformin today. First day was fine, second day is kicking my bum a bit. Only taking 500 to start with but very bad stomach pains tonight. Hoping my body adapts to it pretty quickly.

@SkeletonSkins you are I are cut from the same cloth - so many times DH and I have covered all bases, literally and metaphorically, then ovulation doesnt actually happen. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Honestly at times I’ve had to stop myself from saying ‘well that was a waste!’ so as not to offend him ha! It’s so frustrating isn’t it, I really empathise. You feel so powerless.

@SkeletonSkins sorry to hear about the metformin! I've still been an absolute nightmare and not taken mine yet as I'm too worried about what it'll do to me (yes I know I'm ridiculous 😞)

CD23 for me and a temp shift this morning. Will keep taking temps the next few days to see if it was ovulation. Am hoping after 14 months off the pill my cycles have now settled down a bit 🙏

@SkeletonSkins welcome back and oh my god I so get you. I feel like a total sex champ and then then no ovulation. To be honest, even when we've been sex champs, it doesn't work so I don't know why I bother.

I think I'm probably 1DPO or on ovulation day. I'm going to try it on again tonight and then I'm literally not bothering for 2 weeks. Might even say no when he asks. Oh the power

I had a bit temp shift today but I forgot to put my ovusense in last night and only remembered at about 4 am so I think it's a dodgy reading. So perhaps I haven't missed it yet.
