Anyone testing this week between the 18th or 26th October? It’s my 2nd cycle ( first where I’ve tracked ovulation) ttc first child. Im trying to avoid temptation to test too soon! I’m currently 5 or 6 DPO and hoping to wait until Thursday where I’ll be at least 9 DPO.

Meeeee!
I am on the first cycle of TTC second child. I think I’m around 6DPO too. I am going to try and wait until 24th October which is the date my period is due but I do have a lot of the cheapie tests in the cupboard so I’ll probably cave and test early!

tink339 · 17/10/2021 19:14

Hi! Yep, me!! Lovely to have company! :)

How're you all doing?

I think I'm around 6 dpo. Trying to have a second but not very hopeful, took us so long to have our first... Despite telling myself not to think too much about and not to get worked up, I'm finding it's still hard to get through the 2WW! Hmm

Seriously trying not to symptom spot like crazy and keep the willpower to wait and test until after my period is due. Grin

Peonies94 · 17/10/2021 19:47

Hello @Moonshine160 @tink339 I’m also either 5 or 6 DPO. Are you both planning to test at a certain point? I’m thinking Thursday, if I can hold off until then! It’s my first, and cycle 2 (but first proper one with OPK’s etc, and with an irregular cycle I didn’t have much chance cycle 1)
It’s so hard not to symptom spot isn’t it? I’ve felt a few twinges this evening, but I’m sure I’m imagining them! I‘be also only recently come off the pill and have been on it for so long, I’m out of touch with my body and usual PMS symptoms 🤷‍♀️

Hi! Lovely to have some company. I think I am either 8 or 9dpo, so will probably test on Wednesday. I always end up testing ridiculously early so trying to not do that! This is cycle no 5 trying for no 3. No 1 and 2 took a long time so really trying to be as relaxed as possible.

Peonies94 · 17/10/2021 20:16

@Tefiti3 how old are your children? Ahh you’ll have to keep us posted on how you get off on Wednesday! I’m planning to test 9 DPO

It’s so hard to be relaxed about it, I’m hoping I’ll calm down a few cycles in 🤞

tink339 · 17/10/2021 20:33

Hey, they say that you're more fertile in the months after coming off the pill @Peonies94. It's cycle 2 for me as well, and yes, super hard to be relaxed about it...

@Tefiti3 - well done on keeping your cool! Our daughter took 7 years... so after all that heartache I'm just approaching this as it's worth trying, but if it doesn't happen then it's ok. :)
That being said, I'm still hating the 2ww bit... haha
So nice to have company!

Peonies94 · 17/10/2021 20:38

@tink339 I know, I’m like a crazy person atm, I’m hoping it’ll ease the next few cycles, if not successful, and stop consuming me so much 🤞

Peonies94 · 17/10/2021 20:38

@Tefiti3 wow 7 years! That must have been so hard! Good luck!

Hang in there @Peonies94, I don't know if it really gets much easier, but for me, I had less and less hope and so when it didn't work, I just accepted it. We finally decided to give up, started the long adoption process, and that's when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter...!

Peonies94 · 17/10/2021 21:02

@tink339 🤞 you’ll have a less complicating journey this time around! ❤️

Hiya, I’m 10dpo today on my second cycle using opks for our first. Been off the pill 10 months but not actively ttc. Not feeling hopeful this month, had some cramps this evening so I feel like it’s AF on her way in a couple of days. Fingers crossed xx

Moonshine160 · 17/10/2021 21:16

Hi everyone!
Yes it’s so, so hard not to symptom spot. I wanted to be more relaxed about everything this time around but I feel just as anxious and excited as I did when we were trying for our DS! I’ve been getting lots of twinges but I usually get that in the run up to my period anyway. The only weird thing is that I never usually have a good sense of smell, never have done, and all of a sudden everything smells really really strong to the point of it being off putting. It’s probably coincidence but it’s giving me a tiny bit of hope!

Peonies94 · 18/10/2021 06:03

Good luck both! Are you both waiting for AF to be late or testing beforehand?

OP posts:
beckybabyx · 18/10/2021 09:02

I have some cheapies in the cupboard @Peonies94 so probably end up caving in beforehand! I don’t have a lot of hope this month though xx

weathervane123 · 18/10/2021 09:58

Hi all, I'm 6dpo today. No symptoms at all. Testing on either Sunday or Monday. I'm pretty busy atm so thankfully time seems to be flying this TWW. I bet it slows right down for me by Weds though! Smile

Peonies94 · 18/10/2021 16:32

It’s so hard waiting! I think I’m going to do my first test on Thursday, I have a lot of cheapies though, and I think maybe testing every few days will make me feel better as I’ll be gradually let down if you know what I mean!

Hello! 👋🏻

I am currently 4DPO and will be testing in all likelihood from 9DPO on Saturday. Grin

However, not holding out much hope this cycle; I had a chemical last month, followed by an unexpectedly early ovulation on CD11. As I was caught off guard somewhat, we didn’t DTD as much as I had hoped. We only managed it twice: the day before ovulation and two days before ovulation.

Decaffe · 18/10/2021 16:44

To add, because I really don’t feel I’m in with a chance this month, I am ignoring all symptom spotting and attempts at analysing CM etc! In a way I think I am just waiting for AF to arrive and hope that my ovulation gets back to normal in my next cycle.

Oliver5 · 18/10/2021 16:45

Hi, I'm around 6dpo... I think, according to the flo app. Period is due 27th October (my birthday 🙈) this is our 1st month ttc baby no.3. Very sore breasts and tiredness but not sure if its all in my head, going to try and hold off until at least Friday to test. 🤞 for everyone.

Peonies94 · 18/10/2021 18:33

@Decaffe I know how you feel! I have irregular cycles which are between 30-50 days so I have no clue when I’ll ovulate, so I rely on OK’s so much, it can be hard o cover the day before a positive! Yeah I think 9DPO is when I’m going to cave as well! I also feel like I’m out this month, I covered day before positive, positive and 2 days following ( which would be ovulation day and the day after) so I covered most, however I’m just feeling like it hasn’t been successful! 🤷‍♀️ I am holding onto some hope though!

Peonies94 · 18/10/2021 18:34

@Oliver5 hello! It’s so hard not to symptom spot isn’t it! I’ve had some symptoms but not sure if they’re in my head! I’m going to test Thursday ☺️

TTCThyroid2021 · 18/10/2021 19:13

Wishing you all BFPS this week! I’m 9DPO , haven’t tested yet but have sore boobs today which is a usual PMS sign for me so not sure whether to test or wait for AF 🥲

Oliver5 · 18/10/2021 19:42

I don't even know if we hit ovulation, my cycles aren't regular they vary from 26 days to 35 days, but flo is saying I'm due AF 27th ,I just go on symptoms of ovulation iv not tried doing the ovulation tests yet, just feeling very impatient maybe because it's our 1st cycle 😕

beckybabyx · 18/10/2021 19:53

@Peonies94 that sounds like you covered all basis! We didn’t DTD as much as I’d have liked around O this month so I’m not holding out much hope at all .. a bit like what @Decaffe said just waiting for AF to arrive and not symptom spotting xx
