Hello hope you can find me I'm off to get the list.

OP posts:

Thank you so much digitalgirl and NatalieJane! - how is it that when fellow MNutters say nice things I believe it and when my mum tries to do the same I don't believe a word?!? Poor mummy! Have booked a doctor's app for 31st to discuss it with her, am just worried that if that was the cause of my mc I'll have to go through the whole thing again before they'll investigate it... but doctor has been very helpful so far so fingers crossed (BREATHE BREATHE don't forget to BREATHE !)

BECAROO LISTEN TO ME !! one of my good friends is a coeliac, she has 2 baby sons, eldest is just 2, youngest is 3 months. The first was conceived within 6 weeks of starting trying and the second took precisely 4 days of trying (obv I hate her!)Both her boys were about 8lbs. IF you are coeliac - and you and your ds can have a blood test to check - that doesn't mean that was the cause of your mc. Lots of us have mc'd, and one of the hardest things I think is accepting that we'll probably never know why. (memo to self: remember this when obsessively looking for reasons, current favourite = overly long follicular phase) Good luck lovely, and best wishes to your mum, you'll both be fine!

For anyone else it means that the body can't process gluten which is found in lots and lots of food, obv ones being things like bread, pasta, cous couse, wheat based cereals, but some of which you wouldn't think of, eg many types of sausage, some brands of cheese & onion crisps and soy sauce! If your body can't deal with it, it can make you feel very unwell, but it's not like a nut allergy which can obv be instantly incredibly serious. The problem is that it becomes very bad for you if you have it and go undiagniosed for a very long time (just cos B's mum's only just been diagnosed doesn't nec mean she's always had it) and it can cause nasty things like osteoperosis and bowl cancer. BUT THAT IS NOT THE NORM!! It's just a case of adjusting your diet and you won't have any symptoms. I think that the use of the word "disease" is very cruel as it makes it sound so terrible. Sainsburys and Tesco now sell A LOT of "free from" stuff which is all fine for coeliacs, including an AMAZING chocolate cake mix, might make you feel better Becaroo! it's a fairly major adjustment but it doesn't have to take over your life.

Sam CD19 would be incredibly early to have any symptoms, why don't you look at signing up to fertility friend? (can google it)They do a free 20day course which asnwers a lot of the questions you have been asking. HTH. xx

hi ladies
sorry for not being here for a few days girls poor DD has been ill and i just havent had time to post so i have lurked a bit to try and keep track of whats happenin!! you girls can talk...ALOT!!
first things first... AF still AWOL here despite the fact that i did a test on thursday mornin and BFN either i am havin a super long cycle for me (im usually at the most 31 days but more recently 28 days has been my regular day!!) or i am up the duff wit a hormoneless pregnancy!! i am still feeling rough as a dogs bum and soooo tired, headaches and heartburn like i have transformed into a dragon (i havent i checked...twice) i have got no idea what is happenin with my body now so i am gettin another test tomorrow to do on sunday to see if that changes my view on the matter!! thats if i dont get a visit from AF before then (i doubt it there has not been even a sniff of my usual AF symptoms but i suppose this is turnin away from bein a normal cycle now so...)
also saw the doc on thursday over somethin else an meantioned it to him and he wants to see me again on thursday comin to investigate things further if i dont come on before then!! he said he didnt want to make me wait too long as i have got an underactive thyroid and it can cause problems!! i assumed that as it is under control it wouldnt be an issue but what a good GP that has started to work in our surgery!!

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 20:57

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 21:23

MrsEi25 that's fantastic news your GP's gonna investigate. I've also got an under-active thyroid which is under control but still getting mega long cycles. They're gonna test for PCOS on 4th Feb. Have you been checked for that?

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 21:31

i had the blood tests to check for quite a few things before i found out i had the thyroid thing one of which was the hormone check for PCOS that was normal as far as i know. my old gp was not very thorough though and said i had a normal thyroid level at that point when it was not normal. i asked to see the resultrs as she had got the result wrong with my iron levels not too long before and i was rather anaemic at that point too!! she was an idiot!! (i spend alot of my time reading blood/urine test results in work so i understood them iyswim!!) this was also the same GP that told us that our DD had no breathing problems and she was asthmatic- clearly!! i took her to the walk in centre when she had a bad sounding chest and they got the out of hours GP to prescribe her an inhaler due to the obvious asthma and she is now fine and dandy!!
gosh i ramble dont i!!!
xx ei xx

LittleMissEllie · 11/01/2008 21:34

Make that 3!! I too have an underactive thyroid. I had it checked last month and all my levels are normal but funnily enough this month i also am having a long cycle!! They do say in winter that everyone needs a little more thyroxine to keep going in these harsh winter months. Obviously we cannot get more as we are on the same tablets every month. So i'm putting this month's long cycle down to the winter lag and hopefully next month'c cycle will be more back to normal. Of course i don't want to have a cycle at all if i get that wanted BFP!! xx

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 21:35

well I'm glad to see your latest GP seems to be doing their job properly!
Maybe you should get them to give you an abdominal scan?

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 21:37

My Thyroxine is over by 25mgs so I can't use that as my excuse. I'm hoping my long cycles are down to the pill coming out my system. Although they've always been mega long .

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 21:40

i might ask the new GP to refer me as i might need a scan anyway just on my bladder so i could ask them to do them all at the same time!!
im hoping that all the long cycles are BFP's this month!! (and all the short ones!!) i had a weird dream that i put my pc on and there was like 6 BFP's for this month!! (i think one was DG[shock) lets hope im psychic eh!! my mum has those kind of dreams all the time and hers come true aswell!!
xx ei xx

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 21:43

how do you mean 'over' fruitloop?? i thought your GP has to adjust the level according to your thyroid function thats what mine does up to now anyway iyswim!! i wanted them to give me a high level for selfish weightloss reasons but these tablets seem to interupt my sleep alot so im glad im only on 50mcg!! my MIL is on 200mcg and is still goin up and up!! when i met DH she was only on 100mcg!!

cricri · 11/01/2008 21:46

Evening everybody! I go away for a day and look what happens - so many posts! It took me ages to catch up.
Welcome to all the newbies, hopefully you won't be here for too long, meant in the best possible way of course
I also have an underactive thyroid (under control for the past 3 years and my medication was reduced a couple of months ago too) and I have been concerned about overly long cycles too, although compared with some they're not actually that long (32 and 35 days since mc and one 35 day one when ttc prior to bfp). I'm hoping the acupuncture and agnus castus will help.
MrsEi your GP sounds very much on the ball. I'd be interested to hear what he says next week if AF doesn't appear, if you don't mind sharing that information of course. I'm hoping you get a BFP on Sunday though and I hope you DD feels better soon - she's having a rough week isn't she?
Hello to everybody else and hi to sambrads my cycle buddy! I understand your impatience - I'm starting to symptom spot too!

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 21:50

Well my GP said at my last blood test results that my dose was slightly high but nothing to bother about, he said it was about 25mgs high. I'm on 150mgs at the moment. I didnt see any point changing it again (selfish reasons too - scared to put anymore weight on!)

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 21:51

Is there anyone who's not got an underactive thyroid? It's amazing how common it is

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 22:00

yes cricri DD's been through the mill this week!! poor love was so ill on her birthday(tuesday 8th) and wasnt even interested in her cake or candles she usually pushes you out of the way to blow them out!! im just glad we had her party on sunday 6th so at least she had a lovely day then and she is too young to know the difference yet anyway!!(she is 2)
yes fruitloop i didnt realise how common thyroid disorders were until i was diagnosed myself!! everyone just crawls out of the woodwork so you dont seem like you are the only one!!
xx ei xx

sambrads · 11/01/2008 22:11

hi ya fruitloop looks like we are not the only ones with an underactive thyroid!!!!!

i am taking 200mg and my doc says that i am at the top end of normal so i like to keep it there!
i found when i went down on my doses that my period stopped completely and my body shut down with is the reason i am not ovulating.

my period comes every 30 til 33 days if my levels are ok !!!

hi ya cricri me ayou and fruitloop are on and around the same day so exciting but totally dragging

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 22:48

I think I might go for the record this cycle. I'm aiming for 89 days.
I reckon a bit of reverse psychology should do the trick . How about all the rest of you cycle veterans? I'm just a little bored with hoping for a short cycle. I need a new game.

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 22:52

well, you lot had better be busy baby dancing. I'm off to do some in a bit if I can tear my man away from the screen. Wish me luck.....................if anyone's still there!

Emmsy1 · 11/01/2008 22:52

Thanks fruitloop and mibbes re:EPO
kate I think that the reason women miscarry when they ovulate after day 22 is because the egg doesn't have enough time to produce enough HCG to maintain the pregnancy, so the oestrogen kicks in and starts the AF, you usually need about ten days after 'O' to allow for implantation and for the HCG levels to rise enough to help in the production of progesterone to stop your AF, your luteal phase is long isn't it? I'm sure you should be ok! I have never heard of the eggs ageing if you 'O' after day 22? The only 'geriatric' eggs I have heard of is 'mine' because I'm an old git!

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 23:11

hi girls just thought id let you all know i just popped the loo and that stupid cow AF has arrived so il count tomorrow as CD1 cycle 3 ah well back to the grind...(pardon the pun!!) for me again on the up side though at least i know what is happenin now!!

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 23:36

thanx emmsy to be honest i was tryin to hard to convince myself i would get a BFP so i wasnt prepared for AF's visit in the slightest!! any thoughts on what to expect for next month?? should i assume i will have another long one or just go by previous months??

MrsEi25 · 11/01/2008 23:39

thanx lobsterlass not to worry at least i have got a few BD free days before im back on the horse i cant be arsed recently anyway(prob why no BFP!!) although i did BD a few times over the 'right' time!!
xx ei xx

kate2179 · 11/01/2008 23:49

mrsei at least you know where you are though.

emmsy I bet you're not an old git! Am still a bit confused though... I think my luteal phase always used to be 14 days, but 13 days last month. When they did bloods because they first thought I might be having a mmc my HCG was 6900 at 7 - 8 weeks which I think is pretty good? Bastards refused to do a repeat test though, despite me asking/begging. They said that it wouldn't make any difference to how they treated me, although personally I'm not sure I'd class being told to go home and come back in 10 days as treatment... even though I explained how important it was for my sanity to see what the levels were doing.
Sorry for the rant, anyone would think I wasn't completely over the experience . What I mean is, I think my hcg levels were pretty good last time, certainly got the impression they were higher than the hospital expected, but when my GP finally did repeat tests they showed that the levels though still pretty high (hence symptoms continuing) were dropping slowly, so it all came to nothing. Rubbish huh?
Rant over. Promise to be less self obsessed tomorrow. Sleep (/bd ) well lovely ladies!

mibbes · 12/01/2008 00:04

Evening Ladies, just in from a night out and trying to catch up - lots of chat ! Just a quick post - Cycle buddies Kate and Emmsy still no sign of af from you either then...? The wait continues for the 3 of us. Poor you Kate with all of the FF changes - listen to Prof. DG as she as been on FF for a while with mixed results so has a lot of useful experience - stick with your gut instinct, you know your body best.
MrsEi25 so sorry TEW got you .
