Thank you so much digitalgirl and NatalieJane! - how is it that when fellow MNutters say nice things I believe it and when my mum tries to do the same I don't believe a word?!? Poor mummy! Have booked a doctor's app for 31st to discuss it with her, am just worried that if that was the cause of my mc I'll have to go through the whole thing again before they'll investigate it... but doctor has been very helpful so far so fingers crossed (BREATHE BREATHE don't forget to BREATHE !)
BECAROO LISTEN TO ME !! one of my good friends is a coeliac, she has 2 baby sons, eldest is just 2, youngest is 3 months. The first was conceived within 6 weeks of starting trying and the second took precisely 4 days of trying (obv I hate her!)Both her boys were about 8lbs. IF you are coeliac - and you and your ds can have a blood test to check - that doesn't mean that was the cause of your mc. Lots of us have mc'd, and one of the hardest things I think is accepting that we'll probably never know why. (memo to self: remember this when obsessively looking for reasons, current favourite = overly long follicular phase) Good luck lovely, and best wishes to your mum, you'll both be fine!
For anyone else it means that the body can't process gluten which is found in lots and lots of food, obv ones being things like bread, pasta, cous couse, wheat based cereals, but some of which you wouldn't think of, eg many types of sausage, some brands of cheese & onion crisps and soy sauce! If your body can't deal with it, it can make you feel very unwell, but it's not like a nut allergy which can obv be instantly incredibly serious. The problem is that it becomes very bad for you if you have it and go undiagniosed for a very long time (just cos B's mum's only just been diagnosed doesn't nec mean she's always had it) and it can cause nasty things like osteoperosis and bowl cancer. BUT THAT IS NOT THE NORM!! It's just a case of adjusting your diet and you won't have any symptoms. I think that the use of the word "disease" is very cruel as it makes it sound so terrible. Sainsburys and Tesco now sell A LOT of "free from" stuff which is all fine for coeliacs, including an AMAZING chocolate cake mix, might make you feel better Becaroo! it's a fairly major adjustment but it doesn't have to take over your life.
Sam CD19 would be incredibly early to have any symptoms, why don't you look at signing up to fertility friend? (can google it)They do a free 20day course which asnwers a lot of the questions you have been asking. HTH. xx
