Hi @Frida9 do you mean your period started a few days after ovulation? How many months have you been tracking your cycle? Your luteal phase i.e time between ovulation and the first day of your period should be at least 10 days I believe. When did you get your peak?

My peak was Friday 19th November and my cycle started today, I was getting high readings on ovulation test ls for 6 days before the peak which was later than expected. The week I was supposed to be ovulating all tests were negative. I've been tracking since August and haven't had this before.

@Frida9 that is a bit strange but if it's the first month it's happened I would just keep on tracking. If it happens again I would speak with your gp just to get their advice. Is it a normal period you're having now?

Yes, came off the pill in May and have had regular periods since. All I can do for now is keep tracking and trying and see where it gets me

@Frida9 yeah see how it is next month and then go from there. I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Sometime our bodies do the strangest of things!

Just had my follow up app at the GP, they are referring us for IVF regardless of OH sperm analysis results. I was a bit taken a back but I do understand it'll be a while before we hear anything else

@Aims1991 how are you feeling? It is good they are being proactive about it and doing what they can, although it can't have been easy to hear - sending you a hug.

@Aims1991 that's good that the referral has come through for you, although I can understand why it would be a bit of a shock. Did they say how long it would be until the ball got rolling (so to speak?) I know that different areas in the country have different waiting times for it.

Bit of a random question so would love your input guys if you have any!!

So yesterday morning got my peak on the CB purple tests (the ones that detect 2 hormones) and when I ejected the test I noticed that the line closest to the purple arrow was super dark and the other like faint. Apparently that's what's expected with the LH surge (cracking!)

Fast forward to this evening, and out of curiosity I did another test (without the reader because there's a static smiley face on it still) and the right line is super dark and the left line is barely there. I've read that the right line is the oestrogen one.

Is it normal for the LH surge to be 1) so quick and 2) to get a very high oestrogen reading after it? Should I bother to DTD tonight? We couldn't on Saturday because DH was still poorly, so yesterday on peak day was the only day we have managed so far. Still got plenty of CM, and cervix is stupidly high and open but not soft.

Any advice would be great! Remember now why I hate using OPK's! Xx

Hi, first post on this thread but also my first post to MN so be gentle!
I think this cycle might be a write-off for me but happy to be here for the journey.

We last DTD on the 20th, fertile window predicted as 24th to 29th according to my Health app. Last AF began (late) on 13th. Only now DH is down with a horrendous cold/flu and naturally isn't up to trying again!

It seems a bit too early in my cycle for this month to be 'the one' but as sperm can last in the body for a few days there's perhaps a minor chance, especially as my cycle can be unpredictable.

Not getting my hopes up but we shall see - and buy some ovulation strips for next month!

@CShandy01 those cb tests are impossible to read without the monitor but mine goes peak day one, peak day two then high always. It's almost impossible to read those without the reader thing. I would defo DTD tonight tho x

I used the CB ovulation tests this month. Got high for 5 days and then peak on the 6th. I did notice that the lines weren't as dark as the control. Was my first timw using so will see at the end of the month.

@hoola23 @CShandy01 do you guys have the CB monitor? I'm gonna buy one next month if this is unsuccessful again I think. I've only ever used cheap OPK's up till now. Would you recommend the CB?

@Aims1991 I'm sorry lovely, that must have been a shock to hear although kinda bitter sweet because things are moving. Sorry, I don't know your history but how come they've referred you to IVF right away, do you know? Xx

@katem22 still plenty of time for your OH to feel better and get back on the horse (so to speak) 🤣 if your fertile period is until 29th?

I'm hoping he'll be up to it and we can have another go (or several) in time! Fingers crossed.

@GemB03 @CShandy01 @plantbasedlondoner Yeah I was a little shocked when she mentioned it, but I was curious why she never suggested to scan or do anything else first 🤷🏻‍♀️

@GemB03 I use the cb fertility monitor but to be honest it basically does the same as the normal cb tests with the holder but it does test for pregnancy too

@Aims1991 that's great that your gp is so pro active, you're very lucky! Mine is crap! I hope you conceive naturally before your first appointment but I hope it brings some reassurance that you have a plan b x

So I had my peak on Friday Saturday and Sunday and my app predicts today is day of OV m! I find that weird does anyone else?

@Aims1991 unless it was building up to peak and yesterday was the peak perhaps? So that means today will be ovulation? Xx
