@Aims1991 we really are! I keep flirting between thinking positively and then straight negatively! Actually driving myself insane! Considering we only had sex twice and I think the second time was too late, I will be shocked if I am. I really am feeling positive for you though as you really did a lot of DTD this month!!

Aims1991 · 31/10/2021 21:36

@hoola23 yeah I keep going from positive to negative too. Yeah we DTD a lot! Cd 7,9,13,15,15,17 got my peak cd 13 and EWCM cd 12

CShandy01 · 31/10/2021 21:43

@Aims1991 bloody hell you must be knackered!!!! I was out of breath reading all number of days you managed!! 😂😂😂

Aims1991 · 01/11/2021 06:26

Really thinking I'm out, I have sore boobs/nipples. I used to always get that as an AF symptom then few months ago I stopped getter sore boobs🙄

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 07:53

@newtolineofduty I forgot to ask you, did you ever get that weird taste when you drank coffee now you're pregnant?

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 07:54

@Aims1991 sore boobs can be a good sign hun!

All my positivity has gone now. I'm taking my bet off the cards 🤣

newtolineofduty · 01/11/2021 09:39

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 09:44

@newtolineofduty interesting!! I dunno, I go though different thoughts all the time! I was feeling positive, but now just talking myself out of it I think. Probs because there was zero effort this month and also I went from low straight to peak, had ovulation bleeding and my peak lasted for like 3 days! Just feel the odds are against me!

Aims1991 · 01/11/2021 10:20

@hoola23 c'mon stay positive, I'm trying. But I've more of that full achy cramps again. Not sore but it's that feeling I get the day AF arrives😭 I'm roughly 8/9 dpo I went into boots this morning and stood staring at tests and then walked away🤣 trying hard not to buy and test 🙈

Newbie1987loz · 01/11/2021 11:08

Morning everyone, hope you don't mind me joining this thread! Just after some advice and to keep in touch with people going through similar! Sorry in advance for the long post!

We’re trying to conceive but were only able to DTD once, last night, which I think was ovulation day.

OPKS:
I got an almost positive OPK on CD12 (Friday 29th Oct), then two very similar positives on CD13 (Saturday 30 October). Of those two positives, both were darker than the control line, but one possibly slightly darker than the other. Premom app recognises the first one of other day (1pm) as a “high” and the second one of that day (10pm) to be the peak if I upload these as “other” tests (they’re Boots own brand tests). However, if I upload them as Easy@home tests (which they’re not), it recognises the first of that day to be the peak, and the second as the high. Not sure why they are different, but do you agree I should rely on the readings under the “other” tab because they are Boots tests, which say my peak was 10pm? Then I took a test yesterday morning (Sunday - CD14) and it was negative (line still clearly visible but lighter than the control line). Would this mean yesterday CD14 was likely to be my ovulation day, or could it be today (Monday – CD15).

CM/symptoms:
I also had EWCM on Saturday, but by the time I got to check on Sunday it was still very watery and leaking out sometimes as it had been before, but was getting more of a cloudy/white and lotiony consistency rather than stretchy. I only check the entrance to my vagina. I don't know jhow to check too far in though, so maybe could have been more EW further up? Hoping this was still fertile mucus. I was also achey in my uterus area (like very mild period pains) on CD 14 so hope this was some kind of ovulation pain, and also feeling that dull ache again today.

Anyway, we only got to DTD last night (Sunday) and I’m worried we’ve missed the boat if CD14 was my ovulation day and we only did it at 7pm, and because my CM had changed a bit that day. Is it normal for CM to suddenly change on ovulation day and to have a negative/lighter test than the previous day? Or do you think I’m out this month? Was it possible that I could have ovulated on CD13 which is the day I got my peak, or does a peak usually happen a bit before actual ovulation? I don’t temp by the way, but apps did predict CD14 as my ovulation day. Getting myself worked up so would really appreciate your thoughts everyone ☹ Thanks in advance x

@CShandy01 please stay on here and as @hoola23 says, I cannot wait until we are ALL talking about pregnancies instead of TTC! Literally! Are you feeling excited yet or has it not fully sunk in?

@hoola23 that sounds like quite an exciting development... fingers crossed!

I have PCOS so sometimes don't ovulate and after a year of regular cycles, the late nights I have pulling for work and stress has meant the last couple of months have been haywire ...no CM this month apart from a tiny bit on one day, very unusual for me. Next month I am going to try the OPKs twice a day! I was so broody over Halloween seeing all these pics of babies dressed up so cutely... I think DH was a bit too 😊

CShandy01 · 01/11/2021 13:05

@Newbie1987loz the problem with OPK's is that because it detects the LH surge, that surge can indicate that ovulation will happen anytime between 12 and 48 hours later: I have literally had an LH surge that lasted for 12 hours, so I ovulated super quickly in that time frame.

The issue with using EWCM is that, whilst it's the best detector of ovulation, you'll only know you've ovulated afterwards because CM will go quite thick and tacky afterwards.

I can't be of much help because it really depends how long your luteal phase is, so it's quite hard to tell if you've ovulated on Sunday or today. My guess would be yesterday if you got your peak on Saturday. Do you get any ovulation pains at all?

Newbie1987loz · 01/11/2021 14:03

Thank you @CShandy01 !

So would ovulation be 12-48 hours after the peak or after the first positive? Because I had an almost positive on Friday (I stupidly forgot to take a picture but I think I would remember if it was definitely a positive). That was Friday late morning, and wasnt able to do another that afternoon/evening, so the next one i took was Saturday at 1pm and that was a much clearer positive and the Premom app says that was a "high", with the "peak" one at 10pm saturday. I'm just worried that if I'd taken one friday late afternoon/evening that it could have been the peak instead, if that makes sense. It's a bit of a guessing game! So if my peak was in fact the Saturday 10pm, would ovulation have occurred 12 hours from around that time, so taking me into Sunday for ovulation?

I definitely had EWCM on Saturday, and then by sunday afternoon it was milky. Still very "wet", but lotiony rather than stretchy. Worried that might mean I could have ovulated Saturday instead so Sunday was 1 dpo, hence the lotiony CM instead. Is it possible to have very strong positive/peak OPKs on the actual day of ovulation? I've read it is at least 12 hours after positives, but not clear on whether that's the very first positive, or the peak, if that makes sense!

As for ovulation pains, this is my first month TTC, so haven't been looking out for it, but did notice dull aches in my uterus area Sunday (yesterday) and this morning. Can that normally happen after ovulation, or do you think that usually happens before or during ovulation? I did notice a very quick sharp pain in my abdomen on Saturday afternoon, but it lasted a second, and I'm hoping it was something else as I have that before at different times of the month.

Re luteal phase, my last ovulation was either 4 or 5 October (pretty sure), and then period arrived afternoon on the 18 October. Would that make my luteal phase 13 days? Sorry, I'm so rubbish with all of this, so really appreciate your help!

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 16:22

@Aims1991 well done for resisting the tests!! I had a load of cheapies delivered today. In my defence, they were supposed to arrive on Wednesday🤣 I'm only 7dpo so no point doing one yet!

Aims1991 · 01/11/2021 18:54

@hoola23 yeah Ano🙈 I'm around 8/9 dpo. Defo too early for us both

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 19:36

@Aims1991 I literally cannot work out if I'm feeling cramps or not. Driving myself insane! I'm sure I feel waves of cramps or it's that full feeling just before AF comes. I'm sure they're there!

Aims1991 · 01/11/2021 19:48

@hoola23 I defo have cramps. Just not sure if I've ever had these ones before. My boobs feel sore then don't feel sore when I prod at them🤣 other than that I have zero symptoms of anything. If I start crying this week at stuff then defo AF🤣🤣

MrsRosaline · 01/11/2021 19:50

@hoola23 I can't wait for you to test 😂

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 20:27

@MrsRosaline I can!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I've never felt so conflicted before🤣🤣 I literally feel like I'm going mad this month. I can't work out if it's phantom pains I'm feeling 🤣🤣🤣🤣

hoola23 · 01/11/2021 20:29

@Aims1991 I think I do too🤣 your symptoms seem really strong so I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Zero sore boobs or any other symptoms for me!

Aims1991 · 01/11/2021 20:40

@hoola23 fingers crossed for you
@MrsRosaline how are you doing?

MrsRosaline · 01/11/2021 22:15

I'm OK. @Aims1991. My period is due any day now but weirdly I have zero PMS symptoms that I usually get. No sore boobs, nothing. Usually they start swelling 4 days or so before my period arrives. 🤷🏻‍♀️

CShandy01 · 01/11/2021 22:37

@Aims1991 @hoola23 so when do you think you'll test?? Sounds really positive for you both!! I'm crossing all fingers and toes for you 💖🤞🏻

@MrsRosaline that's so weird! Have you had no symptoms at all for AF this time round? Xx

CShandy01 · 01/11/2021 22:44

@Newbie1987loz it's really hard to say because everyone is different and the OPK's give a general 24-48 hours from when you get your "peak" LH surge (not high, peak) to when ovulation happens. But in reality after peak, you can actually ovulate within 12 hours (this is what happened with me cycle 4). If you really want to know, the best thing to do is keep testing after peak to see how long it lasts. A lot of people test twice a day for this reason - usually mid morning and early evening.

Again, it's just personal and different with ovulation cramps. I don't get them on day of ovulation, I get them before. So I know exactly which ovary I'm firing off every month. I can get them anywhere between a day or two before ovulation, then since I had DD, I get cramps during and after ovulation too 😂 so for me it's hard to determine when I exactly ovulate. Plus each ovary is different for everyone, so one can have more cramps than the other.

If you think you ovulated on the 5th last time, then yes your luteal phase was 13 days that month. However, stress can change this. Also you may have different luteal phases for each ovary. It's so complicated! This is why I think sometimes the OPK's are a bad idea as they become obsessive, and are often misleading because they can't pinpoint exact ovulation. And if you have irregular cycles (like I did) it can be even more confusing! Its ironic that with DD I conceived 2nd time trying with perfect cycles but I used an OPK; and this time round I conceived by checking my EWCM and my own body signs of ovulation, rather than an OPK, and my cycles are all over the shot!!
