It seems AF is coming to get me end of this week (Fri), so instead of feeling sorry for myself Iā€™m trying to look forward to October and getting to try again! šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤žšŸ»

Anyone else with me?

Hello all, if I'm on cycle day 18 of a 28 day cycle and 7 days past predicted ovulation - when is the earliest it would be picked up on a frer? I'm not holding out too much hope as I had pink discharge 3 days after my predicted ovulation so I think I may of missed the window but I've started to get this heavy feeling low down after cramping for 3-4days straight. Hey @Kyoshi wow!!! 7 weeks to get a confirmation that is wild!

I have all my fingers and toes crossed AF doesn't make an appearance and you get to whip out that digital!!!
I find the TWW the most torturous part of the whole TTC rigmarole, so not looking forward to that, but hopefully, the wait is nearly over for you, and this time round you get your BFP early on!!! :)))

@Mummybearto3bg, I think 7 DPO is way too early. Even with the most sensitive tests, it's way too early, and tbh, some people don't get implantation until like 9-10, maybe 12 DPO! You'll only get that BFP if implantation has already taken place. And apparently, when it does, it still takes a minimum of 2 days, in some cases 4+ for the pregnancy hormone to increase enough in your body, so the early test can detect it. So what i'm saying in a very long way, is (and I know - easier said than done), wait it out. Don't test for another week. Maybe DPO 14-15, if AF hasn't shown yet is the first time you could get really a more reliable result.

@Danani thank you that's really helpful! :)
I haven't bought any tests and don't intend to test until earliest next weekend. (Due on the 11th) its really hard to let go of the thought of testing because 'what if' :D xx

@Danani I'm using the cb fertility monitor but it's basically identical. I accidentally put it on reset last cycle and it was similar to your experience, it was on high for many days before it went to peak. This cycle was normal again, started with low, then a few days high before peak.

Ahh @Mummybearto3bg I know, it's a torture sitting on your hands and waiting!

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/ - I find this site very helpful and sobering when I feel tempted to test: it tells you the likelihood of a positive test by DPO.

If you look at 7 DPO the chance of a positive is 7%. Grin

Ah thank you @Bundaberg84! I hope that's all it is, I have started testing 2-3 days earlier than when I was supposed to (zero patience over here!), so I guess I'll get more high days before the peak. I just hope the peak is end of next week, as predicted! Was your peak when you were expecting it last time, even with the extra days of flashing smileys?

@Kyoshi I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! It would be a great start to October Grin

@Mummybearto3bg I would say don't test until at least 12DPO. I know some people get VFL earlier but that is so different for everyone and is based on implantation. That's my plan anyway - not to test too early. I know the wait is awful and I will probably have thoughts of testing earlier but I know you can still get a false negative and actually be pregnant so I prefer to wait than be disappointed twice lol

@Danani I'm totally looking forward to Christmas this year - we usually travel but this year will be staying at home and I absolutely cannot wait to get all cosy and chill for the first time in years - no pressure, no running just rest and enjoy it in a small circle of family and friends. In terms of your flashing smiley face - I am only just starting with testing but immediately was not a fan of the digital ovu test - I much prefer simple strips as I find them much more reliable - I still get faint lines from CD8 onwards but you can see almost exactly when it gets darker and when you reach your peak. I use easy@home and highly recommend them Smile

I'm currently 4DPO and the wait is definitely not easy haha. I know it's going to sound absolutely dumb and I may regret having said it but I have a feeling that I'm pregnant - or I should say I will be pregnant. Not based off of any symptoms because I know it's too early for implantation even - I just have this gut feeling. Hopefully I'm right and then I can share more about it Grin

Ahhh @Peauela I am so intrigued! And so hope you are correct! You know, I've heard a lot of people say they "just knew", so...it's not that crazy, but would love to hear more about it when you get your BFP! Not too too long to go now! Absolutely same plan re Christmas, and it would be so so extra sweet if we're also pregnant, like literally best gift ever!

RE the ovu tests, I'll check these out on Amazon, I'm sure I've seen them on there before! TBH, I quite like the CB ones, this is my 3rd cycle using them - the prev 2 times they were spot on with my app predictions, just first time starting them earlier and getting a flashing so early on! I might get the easy @ home ones though, just to try something new! :)

@Peauela btw, did you do anything different this month? Were you following any particular plan or method when DTD? Also, is this your #1? :)

@Danani if you like CB that's absolutely fine! Whatever works for you, I personally didn't like the digital aspect of them!

Yes we are trying for our first baby :) and not trying long at all, still newbies. the only thing that was different this month was that my peak fell on a weekend and so we've DTD in the morning for the first time - and actually did it in the evening again not for baby making, just felt like it lol Grin I know it may affect sperm count but we didn't really care at that moment Grin other than that I actually felt ovu this month in a form of shooting kind of pain my left ovary - it doesn't always happen for me - and it would be right looking at the LH tests and my peak. I don't know if any of the above will actually matter though. But it's amazing how I'm getting to know my body more now that I pay attention :)

I hope all of us have some good news before Christmas anyway Daffodil

@Dobcaty yeah I donā€™t think I will bother with Clearblue ovulation tests going forward. Finally got my peak today on CD24!

Does anyone know, I got my peak today so due to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours. What day would be classed as 1dpo? xx

Peauela · 30/09/2021 18:29

@Coco9910 I would probably count Saturday as 1DPO :)

@Peauela from my period app says today is ovulation day i also felt a sharp pain in my lower stomach area. We have been DTD since the 21st, not because we thought we had too but because we want too. Does anyone know If we DTD every day does it decrease sperm count?

@Coco9910 haha I know! But you'll get there and hopefully see a BFP ļæ¼

@Vwhite I guess the sperm count can be lower but I doubt it would be significantly down for it to affect TTC but I may be wrong.

Can I join for a lucky October? This will be our first month properly trying and weā€™re going to loosely follow the ā€˜Sperm Meets the Eggā€™ plan.

Just waiting for AF to depart so we can start next week!

@Coco9910 the digital clear blue is quite a different approach to standard OPKs and only works if you start it early enough in your cycle, because the first reading it takes is your base line, so that first test will always be a blank circle. Subsequent tests then search for a change/increase in hormones, to indicate you're due to ovulate. Presumably because everyone's base level of hormones are a bit different šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø It took me a while to get my head around it. I think it's just personal preference whether opk strip tests or digital make most sense for you and your cycles. But you could try again next cycle if you now have a whole box of the digital tests. Anyway, Good luck!
