Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@Misty84 just checking in to see how you are. Don't feel the need to reply - just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you as I'm sure we all are and here when you need us xx

thislittlebird · 20/08/2021 10:03

@Geriatric1234 urgent care were very good, not been before. X ray suggests I have no breakage which is good, now to will it to heal 🤨

Definitely thinking of @Misty84 like @ElsieG3m said, we’re all here if you do wish to vent.

Lucylaroo · 20/08/2021 10:20

Just been catching up as I have been MIA. Sending soooo many hugs to @Misty84. TTC and IVF seems so hard and I wish it wasn't. I am so very new to it all and I wish I could be of more use and say more useful things...but I just wanted to let all know I am here, cheering everyone on in their efforts from my keyboard

KatRee · 23/08/2021 18:42

Hi- hope everyone is doing as ok as possible.
Echo what others have said @Misty84 - thinking of you and sending love

@Marvellouslymadmum How did your appointment go today?

KatRee · 23/08/2021 18:44

@thislittlebird Hope your ankle is on the mend. So annoying when you had plans for the next few weeks, but good excuse to put your feet up and take care of yourself xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 20:00

@KatRee thank you for remembering! It was ok, I wasn't in there for long and they completely dismissed the endo and didn't want to look into it at all which is frustrating as that could be what's preventing me getting pg. but she's sending me for an amh and another progesterone teat and then probably putting me on letrozole or clomid which is good! She did say my tubes can't be blocked as I've been pregnant before (which was somewhat confusing) and therefore she will only check those as a last resort. So good and bad points really

thislittlebird · 23/08/2021 20:49

@Marvellouslymadmum that is frustrating! Sounds kind of similar to my experience. Annoying they won’t give you a lap, but Letrozole or clomid is good.

@KatRee thanks, it’s on the mend! A bit better each day. Be pleased I haven’t shared a photo of the purple monster foot lmao

thislittlebird · 23/08/2021 22:15

@KatRee forgot to ask, how is the ivf going?

KatRee · 23/08/2021 22:36

@Marvellouslymadmum Clomid or letrozole sounds like a good step to try, I hope they go forward with that option for you. I can understand you being frustrated that they weren't interested in talking about the endo though. I'm surprised that she's said that about blocked tubes though. I have one blocked one picked up by HyCoSy and the consultant told me the most likely cause was probably an infection I didn't know I'd had, so presumably it's possible to have pregnancies and the tube get blocked later on. It might be unlikely you have a blockage, and I really hope you don't, but speaking from personal experience could be worth getting checked out one way or another.

@thislittlebird Glad the ankle is getting better! Is it a sprain? I sprained mine tripping off a curb when I was drunk in my twenties and the bruising was pretty impressive!
Took my trigger shot this evening so EC is on Wednesday - found today quite nerve wracking!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 23:53

@thislittlebird yes very frustrating in one sense but at least I didn't come away with no assistance!
Your ankle sounds like when I tore the ligaments in my foot and ankle, looked awful! I was on crutches for ages and had to have physio, was horrible. Hopefully yours will heal quicker!!
I did mine stepping off a stone step and my ankle just went under me as I stepped down 🤢
@KatRee yes that was my thoughts, I was sure they can get blocked at any time but hey ho! I think she'll look at that if the letrozole doesn't work. Ooh not long for you now then!

thislittlebird · 24/08/2021 21:04

@KatRee yeah a sprain. I feel into a pothole in the grass because I’m a fool. Good luck tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah it seems to be healing ok tbh. So far so good. But I do need to do some exercises. I agree re the tubes btw, sounds a bit dodge.

Today I have reached the glorious point of being active in the mumsnet ttc community long enough to see people have whole babies since I got here, so that’s fun Confused Wine

When I say I want to graduate from this thread I really mean it. 😭

I heard from the complaints team today regarding my May gynaecologist appointment complaint. Not much use really, she just denied stuff or claimed she was right. Load of old tosh if you ask me, but hopefully it’ll get us through the ACU quicker. I’m going to ask to speak to them and clarify that I should be seen promptly at Guys for treatment, rather than just be left languishing in a queue for months.

KatRee · 25/08/2021 16:26

@thislittlebird Is this the doctor who said you were unexplained and there was nothing they could do when it was clear to the private doctors and pretty much anyone who's ever posted on a ttc Mumsnet thread that there was a potentially very treatable issue? I do hope they get your treatment sorted soon, as you say, you've been waiting long enough.
Totally hear you on the Mn babies- it's lovely to see success stories, but so hard to remain patient and keep hoping it will happen for us isn't it?
@Marvellouslymadmum I think it's very good news that you'll be able to try letrozole. Keeping everything crossed that this is the little boost you need, although would be good if they were open to explore the possibility of investigations for the endo and possible blockages too

I am back home after EC, which was actually a strangely nice experience in the end. Although I was under some kind of sedation which wasn't general anaesthetic, I don't remember a thing about the procedure, only coming around very quickly and getting tea and biscuits afterwards. Hope that's reassuring for anyone else looking at moving to ivf soon. They managed to get a decent proportion of eggs from the follicles so now begins the anxious wait to see how they do. I think the sedative must be lingering in my blood and helping me stay calm for now. I don't think I'll manage to stay this way for long though

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/08/2021 22:52

@thislittlebird let's hope they sort your appointment at guys out quickly now!

@KatRee that's heat news about your eggies and that collection went well! 🤞🏻 for lots fertilising for you (why does that always remind me of farms?! 🥴)
I'm a bit more positive about the letrozole now, I just hope it works!

thislittlebird · 26/08/2021 19:34

@KatRee yeah that’s the one! I’m really, really hoping Tuesday brings us good ivf news.

Glad you had a good experience with the egg collection and it’s all going well. Keep us posted on the updates! I’m nosey 👀

@Marvellouslymadmum i know you don’t see your dms often but I did dm you about a massage I’m planning to book for me and dh 😂. Weird, I know, but I think you might be a guru on the topic

Ladies I’m thinking of getting a dog. Am I mental? Is this ok? Do I need to chill? I’ve wanted one for ages but I can’t do anything we want right now, but I could do this? Work is now hybrid so there will be someone home half of the daytime every day and I’ll be home all day for two or three days out of five working ones per week. I know some of you guys have dogs.

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/08/2021 00:20

@thislittlebird you're right I don't see dm's unless I log in online rather than the app, I've answered though 😊

I think a dog is a great idea! We are getting a lab puppy next year and I'm so excited! What kind are you thinking?

KatRee · 27/08/2021 10:12

Thanks for the well wishes @Marvellouslymadmum and @thislittlebird
Hanging on in there

@thislittlebird I've never had a dog so no idea about how much effort, time and commitment is involved, but I do have a cat and it's been such a massive comfort to me having an animal at home during hard times- she brings me so much solace and joy when I'm feeling low.

Bundaberg84 · 27/08/2021 10:33

@thislittlebird getting a dog is never crazy (unless you already have like 10 or so). I'm just looking at my now 14 years old girl, she was a handful when she was young, but I never had any regrets. Also, I grew up with dogs, having had a dog as my first best friend as a child was so great!

thislittlebird · 27/08/2021 12:24

@Marvellouslymadmum 🙏 thank you

Love labs! I couldn’t have one (allergies) but they’re such nice dogs. Probably a miniature poodle or bichon. My mum had them way back so I’m familiar and don’t make me itch like dogs with double coats.

@KatRee that’s what I’m thinking, it’ll be hard work but I’m so lonely in all this and think it would be nice to have a focus and a companion.

@Bundaberg84 that’s nice to hear tbh. I keep worrying I won’t cope and stuff because I haven’t had dogs in so long but I think that’s just my anxiety speaking. It does that a lot. I grew up with them too and my siblings didn’t live with me because they were much older. I think if the ivf works it will be a nice addition to the family, especially if we can only have one child.

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/08/2021 12:53

@thislittlebird I find for myself, my son and step son we all have animal allergies but once your body gets used to said animal the alllergy dies down so I can go somewhere else and be allergic to their cat/dog but if I'm there for more than a few days it starts to get better!

I had labs before, my yellow lab I had before my children so they grew up with him and we had him until he was almost 16! My sister breeds labs, sprinters and cocker spaniels and my partner has now fallen in love with the labs too so we are getting one of hers which should be born around February 🤞🏻 I'm so excited!!

thislittlebird · 27/08/2021 13:13

@Marvellouslymadmum that’s funny because I never had allergies when I lived with dogs and then when I didn’t they started. But yeah, I’m sure whatever I have will adapt.

That’s very exciting!

Bundaberg84 · 27/08/2021 13:29

@thislittlebird I mean not gonna lie, it is a lot of work in the beginning, but it's totally worth it. And let's face it, we're all here TTC so I'm pretty sure owning a puppy is much less hard work than having a baby. Funny enough, when I got my dog my brother and his wife just became parents for the first time, and we had some similiar stages to go through at that time. Just my dog was potty trained a lot earlier ;)

thislittlebird · 27/08/2021 14:19

@Bundaberg84 ngl I have thought about it as kinda mild prep for a baby. Which will be a huge shock for us since we’ve got to nearly 40 without any kids. Or pets.

Bundaberg84 · 27/08/2021 14:25

@thislittlebird makes sense to me :)

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/08/2021 00:05

@thislittlebird I definitely believe it's true! People that have never been around animals and say they have allergies believe they can never have a pet which is sad because I think in most cases it's not necessarily true! I'm very excited about the puppy, I wanted one from her current litter but they were all already reserved. So waiting for the other lab as they only have one litter each in an 18 month term.

AnxiousWannabe · 29/08/2021 22:18

How's everyone? I try to zone out of this every now and then...

I just realised I messed up my folic acid prescription. Darn Amazon - when I got a new bottle I accidentally ordered 1000ug instead of 400ug. Combined with the pregnacare I'm having - I may have overdosed. Sigh. What a kerfuffle.

On top of that I consume 1000mg of epo routinely which now I realised is not recommended too. I feel like a total failure. Sigh
