Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

So here u go ..urs
Fostimon, Letrozole, Fyremadel, Utrogestan, Ovitrelle.

Mine
Fyremadel,Menopur,Ovitrelle,Cyclogest

Strange....I always come across Menopur in IVF talk. I'm on the short protocol

thislittlebird · 06/08/2021 17:56

@AnxiousWannabe what’s your AMH/AFC? It’s probably different to @Misty84’s which is why it’s a different plan, it’s all quite different from person to person I’ve found.

So far all I know I’m on is Meriofert at alternating doses because of my high Amh, rest is tbc. Originally was Menopur and he changed it while we were on the call.

thislittlebird · 06/08/2021 17:57

@Misty84 good luck for cd2! Are you doing the injections or your DP?

Mikkelsmum · 06/08/2021 18:44

Hi guys - mind if I join the thread?

I was 35 last month. Last year I had a baby boy, Mikkel, who was premature and didn't make it. It took us 11 months to get pregnant with him. We have been trying again since January and nothing!!

Did the day 3 and 21 tests - all came back okay-ish - my FSH was 10.5. I thought it was hight, but the GP seemed to think it was fine!

We have an appointment with a fertility clinic next week. For a SA and an ultrasound. Not sure what the ultrasound is for, but I'm sure they'll tell me!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself and hope you don't mind me joining! Smile

ElsieG3m · 06/08/2021 19:21

@Mikkelsmum hi, and I'm so very very sorry for the loss of your son. Life can be so very cruel. Welcome to the thread. You've come to the right place - you'll get lots of lovely support here. The ultrasound is to check your follicle count I would imagine. They'll also check to see the shape of your uterus etc. I don't know much about FSH values. Have you had AMH tested?

Mikkelsmum · 06/08/2021 19:51

Thanks @ElsieG3m!

Life is cruel. I miss Mikkel so much and it all feels so unfair. But we are determined to make him a big brother, so even though its disheartening to keep at this month after month we will persevere!!!

Yeah, I got my AMH, it was 24, which I think is good. Though apparently it's unusual to have a good AMH and a high FSH.

And I'm so glad I found this thread. I was reading through it and all of you seem so lovely and supportive, which is amazing because we all have our own difficult journeys! It's nice to be able to bounce off people in similar situations!

Misty84 · 06/08/2021 19:55

@AnxiousWannabe I don’t think it’s anything to worry about that we’re on different plans- it would be more worrying if they were exactly the same considering we likely have different needs!

@thislittlebird Thank you! Was hoping I’d be one of those people that got lucky just before their ivf cycle, but alas it was not to be! At least I feel ready for it now as I’m so sick of this limbo, I’m looking forward to someone else being in charge of things!
DP will probably start the injections off and if I feel confident enough I’ll take over. The Fostimon needs mixing so that’ll def be his job as I don’t trust myself!

@Mikkelsmum Welcome, and I’m so so sorry to hear about your son. Unimaginably devastating xx

@Misty84 @thislittlebird @ElsieG3m
I wish I can do more than just typing thanks here. I wish I can send you both flowers. Chocolates or just anything you wish coz even my oh gave up on me freaking out but you gals put up with me thusfar. I allow myself to freak out like 30 min a day. But slowly i freaked out like 30 min over two days...three days ...it gets better.

Then a rubella bomb dropped.

Luckily the clinic came back and said my plan worked

My amh and afc are good...I can't remember the numbers but my verdict was I was normal.

@Mikkelsmum
I can't even start to imagine the pain you are going through. A friend went through something similar and she told me this - there's a scientific term called fetal microchimerism which means...The baby's genetic materials will always be part of you. In a way, mikkels is always with you. It gave my friend a lot of peace knowing that..

AnxiousWannabe · 06/08/2021 20:34

@Misty84
Good luck with the injection. Did you get like ice packs and such ? I did acupuncture ages ago and the dude poked needles on my tummy. I think my fats were so thick that I hardly felt anything at all!

KatRee · 06/08/2021 21:29

@Geriatric1234 Glad you're doing well and exciting things are happening. Life's a lot better without OPKs and supplements, i seem to vaguely recall. I hope you'll still pop by from time to time as we'll miss you!

@AnxiousWannabe I'm sorry you are having to delay your treatment- it's very frustrating when you are so ready to be getting on with things. At least with your good afc and AMH medically there is no reason to hurry, as difficult as it emotionally. Also, a freeze all does sound like a pretty good plan if they let you go for that option.

Hi @Mikkelsmum - I'm so so sorry you lost your little boy, what an impossibly difficult thing to go through. You deserve your rainbow and I hope you get there soon. Ultrasound can give lots of useful info to help figure out next steps

@Misty84 - I'm sorry af showed up right on schedule. I'm also quietly hoping for a miraculous natural conception, even though only dtd once last fertile week. But I'm sure I'll be right behind you and cracking open the fostimon in a few days.
How are you feeling about it all now?

My meds arrived today in a gigantic box. I can only think about everything one tiny step at a time, so I read through the instructions and watched two videos on injecting the fostimon, which is the one I'm starting on. Kind of itching to get started now

Mikkelsmum · 06/08/2021 22:37

Thanks @Misty84! I'm sorry AF arrived. It's always disappointing because there's always that hope!

@AnxiousWannabe - yes, I heard that before. And it's reassuring that part of him is physically with me and always will be. And I'm so sorry your friend had a similar loss. It's a devastating thing to go through. Amd I'm really sorry for the delay in the treatment. It's all stressful enough as it is!!

@KatRee thanks a mill. I really hope so. I really hope we all get our babies soon xx Great the meds arrived for you! YouTube is great for those videos!

Misty84 · 07/08/2021 08:17

@AnxiousWannabe There aren’t ice packs, not sure if I will use ice I might try without first. I do weekly acupuncture “for fertility” and I hate the part where the needles go in haha, spend the whole time trying not to wince. Once they’re in I go to sleep 😛

@KatRee I’m feeling very ready for it now so I’m looking forward to starting, going for regular scans and being monitored, and hopefully on the path to becoming a mum!🙏 The expense is horrendous but we’ve agreed to do 2 cycles and then see where we are. How are you feeling and when are you due to start?

@Mikkelsmum Thank you, it’s been 2 years of failed attempts so I’m very used to AF arriving! I always have hope regardless…

Marvellouslymadmum · 07/08/2021 13:06

@AnxiousWannabe sorry it's all been delayed for you. I don't have any advice on when to get the injection, I hate when you have to make one of those decisions that no matter what you do it probably won't be the right thing but hopefully it'll sort out for you.

@Misty84 sorry af arrived but exciting that you're getting started!

Hi @Mikkelsmum so sorry to hear about your little boy, must've been truly awful for you 😞 usually if you have a high amh it's a low fsh so maybe speak to them about that at your appointment, I'm sure they'll explain everything to you.

KatRee · 07/08/2021 15:15

@Misty84 Also looking forward to getting going. Trying to find that balance between trying to manage our expectations and staying positive and also trying not to think about the cost. Looking on this first one as an experiment and keeping in mind that whatever the outcome it will be progress of sorts as we'll learn things like how I respond to these meds etc
What dose of fostimon are you on ? Are you mixing it with anything else for stims?
I am supposed to be doing 300iu fostimon for first 6 days or so, then switching to 300iu meriofert.
Im due to start in the next week- have to call the clinic when af arrived and then go in for a scan and get go ahead to start meds the next day. App is predicting af due Wednesday, but my last couple of cycles have been slightly longer, so thinking it may be next Saturday, which is bit concerning as clinic no open on Sunday, but they said it wouldn't matter to just come in on the Monday instead
Exciting times- hope your first injection goes well xx

Where is everyone else is your cycles? Anyone in tww?

Misty84 · 07/08/2021 19:49

@KatRee That’s how I feel too.
I’m on 300iu Fostimon and 2.5mg Letrozole tablets to start with.

I’ve done my first injection!!!! Oh my gosh the relief that it’s out the way is immense! (from someone that hates needles). I let my partner do all the mixing (2 parts powder, 1 part solvent) and he did the injection too. But it was fine you know, didn’t need ice on it. It didn’t hurt 🎉

@Misty84
Thanks for the update! I'm very relieved hearing that - it will be me soon and hearing you having such a smooth experience helped tremendously!

KatRee · 07/08/2021 21:03

@Misty84 Yay -well done!! 👏👏
Did you have the ampoules with the red dot that you have to snap open as well?

Misty84 · 07/08/2021 21:14

Thank you!!
@AnxiousWannabe I’m glad that’s helped!
@KatRee Yes we have the ampoules, so lots of components! But think we’ll quickly get used to it x

Marvellouslymadmum · 07/08/2021 23:49

@KatRee I'm cd43 and 17dpo af firmly on her way as I can barely walk without doubling over in pain 😩

@Misty84 that's great about your first injection.

@Marvellouslymadmum Sorry to hear that. It's bad enough that she shows up at all. Is the pain down to the adenomyosis? Have you been able to have a useful consultation with the doctor about it yet?
Hope you're able to put your feet up and take care of yourself today x

thislittlebird · 08/08/2021 09:22

This ^ person is being deleted on more than one thread of mine so I will assume spam. 🤨

@Misty84 well done on that first injection! Must have been nice to get it out of the way. I’ll try to get DH to do mine too. It’s weird but i don’t really find acupuncture needles painful so far. I breathe and then they’re in, maybe I should panic less about the ivf meds.

@KatRee I’m cd7 of my second mmr cycle! The cost just adds that extra layer of stress most people really don’t need. I was listening to the fertility podcast yesterday and BPAS were on there talking about their not for profit ivf clinic launch in Autumn. I’m really looking forward to seeing how much they charge when they do launch.

I’ll have those glass red dot ampoules too 😐

@Mikkelsmum so sorry to hear about your son, what a horrible situation to go through. Fingers crossed you can give Mikkel a brother or sister soon!

I don’t know much about AMH FSH disparity, but have heard of it before.

@Marvellouslymadmum Seems like there’s more going on with your cycles for that to happen again surely?

KatRee · 08/08/2021 09:42

@thislittlebird Yeah, complete spam- someone apparently found a doctor who cures HIV and blood cancer with magic herbs 🙄
I'm almost more worried about the ampoules than the needles- looks quite fiddly and like you need a lot of strength to crack them open. Although my meds pack had some caps included that you cover them with that's supposed to make it easier. We'll see soon enough I guess

KatRee · 08/08/2021 09:44

@thislittlebird I'll also have to check out that new clinic and I'm also going to look at the access plans for subsequent cycles. I was so overwhelmed initially I just went to the clinic nearest me (super lucky to have one within walking distance). But if we have to do this more than once I'll need to explore more economical options

Mikkelsmum · 08/08/2021 10:01

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you. I'm so sorry to hear you're I such pain! And I'm sorry that AF is on her way 😞

@thislittlebird thank you. I'm glad to hear you've heard of FSH / AMH disparity before. I have a fear that they have messed up my results and my AMH is actually low! But if you've heard of this before, maybe that's not the case!!

@Misty84 yey!! Well done! I'm sure it's a relief to have the first one over and done with!
