Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@MargotChateau I wanted to do the 2 cycle refund package with Access but wasn’t eligible (that damn AMH again!), so I’m doing the 2 multicycle package.

I had all my medical files sent to myself and then anything relevant I sent over to the Lister. Probably an easier way to do it! Although they didn’t actually want to see any proof of my results until my nurse appointment.
A money tree would be lovely!!

Welcome @Lucylaroo, have you been trying a while or just started?
It’s definitely difficult when behind all your friends.

@Marvellouslymadmum clomid etc could still be an option for you if you aren't ovulating regularly?

@MargotChateau wow, it's such a shame that they misinformed you. I knew @Misty84 had been rejected and assumed you got lucky but nope, they're very harsh with the funding.

Fingers crossed Dr Faris will work for us. I was a little taken aback by the phone number offer tbh, seemed very unusual but I won't complain.

I'm also doing the 2 cycle muti-cycle package with Access. Although I would likely be eligible because high AMH, the three cycle refund package is more expensive for us because of my age and I wasn't comfortable handing over so much money in one go. So I'm optimistically plumping for 2 cycles and hoping that does the trick.

My weirdo mother suggested surrogacy today Hmm. Thanks for that, mother.

@Lucylaroo welcome to the thread, I'm sure you'll have more luck than us long-timers!

Lucylaroo · 29/07/2021 16:59

@Misty84 I'm so very new to it all, I'm sorry. We started trying in January, but was told to wait a few months, so now we are back up and running. I know they say not to stress out, but I can't help but worry. My friends keep asking when we will have children. It's a bit annoying.

@thislittlebird thanks for the welcome. I am with you on the weirdo mother....I have one as well. They seem to say the most inappropriate things at the most awful times. DH is hoping I don't become her...and so do I!! Confused

thislittlebird · 29/07/2021 17:16

@Lucylaroo honestly one of the reasons I want a child of my own is so I can have my own little family. I don't have a good family and my mother left us when I was young, so it really makes me want to have my own family and do my best not to become her, because I do fear it. It's hard because you can see the similarities and just have to hope to avoid turning into them Confused

Lucylaroo · 29/07/2021 17:37

@thislittlebird you will be a wonderful mother. To care that much, and to be so aware of what a child needs in a good family. I am hoping so hard that you will come good asap. You deserve it. So many crummy mother's out there, and then there are people like you, who would make an amazing mother....it's not fair.

I would love a little family of my own as well. Something to nurture, have little family traditions and things. I've always wanted a family, just been too scared that it wasn't the right time. Now, I'm praying it's not too late. I have everything crossed for you!!

AnxiousWannabe · 29/07/2021 20:12

I just paid access today. Got my prescription and everything. Can we compare notes on what we are getting ? I feel like I'm just a standard package. Spoke to the doctor once. And now I'm doing this life changing thing.

I am trying not to read into things. I'm very scared. But I allow myself an hour a day to be scared. The rest I try to occupy my mind on something else...oh well

thislittlebird · 29/07/2021 21:39

@AnxiousWannabe I don’t have much to compare yet, but it basically is one appointment and done. History, plan and off you go. I think we all just expect more when going private.

You do seem particularly stressed and maybe you could consider taking up the free counselling ivf clinics offer? I’m considering it. It’s a big thing, and it could be worthwhile?

thislittlebird · 29/07/2021 21:41

@Lucylaroo thanks 🙏 . I’m really hoping we all get there soon, it wears you down. It’s two years in now and I’m losing the will lol. And you’re right, it’s definitely not fair whatsoever.

I was the same. Kept putting it off and then at 36 started trying. Glad I didn’t leave it later.

selina37 · 29/07/2021 22:59

Just marking a spot to keep up ❤️

Misty84 · 30/07/2021 07:33

Hi @AnxiousWannabe, do you mean compare notes on what medication and treatment we’re having?
I’m on a short antagonist protocol, so I go straight to stims on Day 2 of my cycle. My prescription is Fostimon, Letrozole, Fyremadel, Utrogestan, Ovitrelle. No idea about any of it, just going with it!😂🤷‍♀️
Yes I also had one chat with the consultant and she decided a plan based on that. I understand the first cycle is a bit of an experiment as they don’t know at this point how we will respond. So I’m not really expecting it to succeed (especially as I have diminished egg reserve) and will probably use my included counselling session after that.
I’ve paid for the 2 multicycle prog through Access.

Also, I downloaded an app called Mindful IVF which has little meditations for each part of the process! I did a 10 min one before getting up for work today. Might help you feel calmer🌸 xx

@selina37! Welcome back 🤗 how are you doing?

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/07/2021 21:37

@MargotChateau oh no what a nightmare! I wish doctors wouldn't do that. Love the money tree idea! Lol

@Lucylaroo hi and welcome

@thislittlebird I'm certainly not ovulating regularly at the moment! Maybe they'll offer me clomid or letrozole once I've had my first appointment. Isn't it odd when people come out with weird suggestions!

thislittlebird · 01/08/2021 13:54

@Marvellouslymadmum my mother is such a weirdo anyway 🥴

I am fairly certain I did not ovulate this past month. Had next to no symptoms at all, and cd1 is today. Based on this, Ivf will likely start the very end of September which is good to know. Only delay would be my august cycle being freakily long, hopefully it won’t be.

I need to motivate myself to exercise, eat well etc for the next 8 weeks. I’m trying to up my protein right now because that’s good for the old eggs and I don’t eat much meat at all.

We’ve put a hold on the move. They’re being annoying about his salary and I’m just too stressed by ivf.

Henslovetoscratch · 01/08/2021 19:04

@ElsieG3m sorry for the delay in response and cutting across all the other chats, been away for a few days and no internet!

Ah that sounds really sore, I hope it helped and that things go better from you now on. Can only be hopeful during this whole process I also find trying to forget about it helps (who am I kidding?) 😂

We conceived naturally and had a normal pregnancy with our first and he is 2.5 now so hoping it will still happen for us but I was 35/6 then so who only knows how things may have changed!! I am grateful to have the one tho and if that's us then that's ok too.

I hope that this thread bring us all some luck and I know it really helps with moral support as we all go through the various stages of the process ❤️

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/08/2021 22:50

@thislittlebird lol fair enough! I think o struggle with protein as I don't eat any meat or fish 🤔 will they hold the job for him or does he have to look for one when you're ready?

thislittlebird · 02/08/2021 00:45

@Marvellouslymadmum it’s tough, we’re mostly veggie but do eat fish so we have increased the fish intake. I’m going for other sources too, plenty of nuts etc, because I definitely don’t eat enough fish I’m sure.

No, they won’t hold it for him. They sent a new salary offer today but it’s very unclear what the final figure is, they’ve been messing around all week. I think he’ll have to retrain tbh. I don’t think what he does will be an option down there beyond this job and a very rare few that might pop up. There certainly aren’t enough roles similar to what he does down there to be able to rely on one coming up when we’re ready. Which is why he went for it, but I think the timing is just wrong. I’ve felt much better about it all now I know he’ll be here and I won’t be alone. The OHSS risk especially worries me quite a bit.

ElsieG3m · 02/08/2021 10:28

@Henslovetoscratch ah that's great re your little guy and same here. We feel incredibly lucky to have our little girl and she's such a joy.

Forgetting about it is so hard. I struggled more the first few months but have calmed down a bit about it now. We're getting some help and we really hope it all works out for us but as you say, if it doesn't happen, we're incredibly blessed with our little lady. It's mainly a sibling for her that I want it to happen. My husband is not at all bothered about that as he says she'll be more interested in her friends anyway!

We are both just focussing on what we can control. Eating (mostly) very healthily, lots of protein, avoiding red meat, no alcohol, caffeine, smoking, taking supplements, running and trying to get plenty of sleep. The one part we're not doing well is the stress factor. Both in very stressful jobs. I have acupuncture to help that but I'm still pretty highly strung - think it's just part of my dna!

ElsieG3m · 02/08/2021 10:31

@thislittlebird @Marvellouslymadmum sorry to cut in but I had similar concerns re protein as also mostly veggie with occasional chicken and fish. My acupuncturist recommended a natural pea protein powered called nuzest and I've started to add a scoop of the natural (no flavour one) to my morning smoothie of frozen berries, spinach, banana, and pineapple and almond yoghurt. You can't taste the powder and it makes you feel very full because of the protein. Just wanted to pass on the tip as it's something I struggle with loads and I know I don't get nearly enough protein xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/08/2021 11:13

@thislittlebird ahh yes, I was considering taking fish oil as that may help with some things but I don't think it would do much for protein.

It's a shame that the job just came up at the wrong time for you but who knows what will come up in the future, could be something much better!

@ElsieG3m ooh brilliant thank you! I'll look into that one

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 02/08/2021 11:47

Thanks for tagging me, hope you're all well!

I saw a nutritionist when I went veggie, and was surprised how much protein is in everyday foods such as wholemeal pasta, wholemeal bread etc which adds up to the daily recommended amount. @ElsieG3m is right, pea protein is great also.

Other things I was recommended that haven't been mentioned - add seeds to everything and eat wholemeal seeded bread. Eat wholemeal pasta. Switch to high protein yoghurt from normal- the difference in this was surprisingly large. I mostly eat beans, lentils or chickpeas daily - really delicious in salads, curry's, to bulk out pastas etc. But mostly a breakfast of something like high protein yoghurt, with walnuts and seeds and fruits gives me half of the amount of protein I need to eat for the day.

Or alternatively an avocado on 2 slices of wholemeal seeded bread with 2 eggs and seeds is about half of what you need.

Tahini, hummus, falafels etc - great to up the protein in salads as is cheddar

Henslovetoscratch · 02/08/2021 13:46

@ElsieG3m I feel exactly same as you and trying the same things too. Already eat well and exercise a fair bit but now on decaff tea and trying not to eat loads of crap!

Only difference is I was spotting a fair bit before period but that's stopped the last two cycles which I think is down to seven seas supplements. Just going to see what happens the next couple cycles and go from there I guess!
Best of luck to you! X

ElsieG3m · 02/08/2021 13:48

@Henslovetoscratch loss of luck to you too!!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - great to see you back here! How are you getting on now?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 02/08/2021 14:16

@ElsieG3m I've been following the thread here and keeping up with all of you. So hopeful for all of the upcoming ivf cycles🤞 although also so sorry for the stress, complications and money it's adding to the process.

I'm okay thanks, nothing much to report here, just plodding along.

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/08/2021 16:13

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's good to know as I've switched to whole meal seared bread and whole meal pasta!
