Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@Loladoodle Thanks! How are you getting on?

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/02/2022 20:53

@Hoping43 that's not too bad then! I had to push for more help after all my tests came back ok
They do scans for different reasons so don't always check the lining or follicles.

@Tinkerbell098 hi and welcome, I know drinking pomegranate juice is good for thickening the lining, just one small glass a day all the way through the month

I had to wait 9 months to be seen by a consultant initially and each appointments tends to be months away I'm afraid it's quite standard on the nhs

@Tofu35 I'm not sure about turning them down twice but hopefully it would be ok if that's what you feel you need to do

@thislittlebird glad your egg collection went well and 9 fertilised, let's hope for lots of great eggies for tomorrow! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I had my consultant phone call yesterday and he's putting the dose up to 100mg but for some reason I've got to wait for an in person appointment to get the prescription which could take ages and I don't want to wait! He also kept going on about my amh being very low, that of someone in their late 40's rather than early which is odd because it was 1.2 which yes is low but is supposed to be right for a 40yo 😖 unless it's being measured in p/mol I've no idea!!

Loladoodle · 16/02/2022 11:02

@thislittlebird we are on the waiting list for ivf… but I’m swaying towards packing this journey in now. We are buying our dream home, considering a couple of lovely holidays this year and that’s really where I’ve moved my focus to so we are not actively trying this last couple of months at all. I may reconsider at a later stage but for now I feel happy with my decision. Not sure if we got to the point of being offered IUI/ivf if I would turn it down but something I’ll consider when the time comes.

Really hoping this is it for you 🙏

thislittlebird · 16/02/2022 13:43

@Marvellouslymadmum so we went for ET but it didn't go ahead. I was very stressed about breathing problems I'm having and they were happy to do a freeze all to be on the safe side. We have 3 good embryos, one top quality amongst the three, and an additional 2 that may or may not catch up, we'll find out tomorrow. Very happy with that, it means we finally have a few chances of success. Fingers crossed!

How long until they see you for this clomid appointment? It usually is measured in pmol in this country, I would double check with them to be sure.

@Loladoodle that all makes sense and I think you already have one DC? I would love to move on, it's such an awful position to be in just treading water.

Marvellouslymadmum · 16/02/2022 14:09

@thislittlebird that's really good that they agreed to do a freeze all for you and you have 3-5 looking good 🤞🏻 when does that mean you'll have your transfer?
I don't know how long I have to wait for the appointment but I'll be ringing for my blood results Friday so if I haven't heard anything I'll ask about it then, part if me wants to ask if I can get the prescription from my gp like for the 50 but part of me wants the in person meeting so I can ask about the amh etc. i hope it's not pmol, if it is mine is very low! 😞

@Loladoodle I wish I could get my head around this like you've managed to, I definitely don't see it happening anytime soon for me

KatRee · 16/02/2022 17:29

How frustrating for you @Marvellouslymadmum !
I'm sorry you're being made to wait, doesn't seem to make any sense at all

That sounds like a very good result @thislittlebird , well done! And good move not to go ahead with the transfer if you weren't feeling right. Will they let you do another egg collection before transfer, or do you have to transfer all embryos first? Not sure which you'd rather do anyway, but I'm still toying with the idea of asking for a freeze-all so I can do another round of EC soonish. That is assuming we get anything to freeze, which we might not

Congratulations on buying the dream home @Loladoodle - great to have other things to focus on and look forward to

Loladoodle · 16/02/2022 20:39

Thanks ladies- I have reached a stage of contentment. Long may it last! 😅

Wishing all the best for you and will keep checking in to see your news ✨

Carla2601 · 17/02/2022 07:03

@thislittlebird well done you - sounds like a really positive result and hope you’re feeling better soon

thislittlebird · 17/02/2022 09:32

@KatRee we have just the one funded round with three transfers. So although we could do a private round with them I’m not sure if I want to straight away. Especially feeling a bit shit right now. Tbh I don’t actually think they’d let me do one yet, won’t even do a FET until my next cycle after the one due soon, so I can’t see fitting in another EC being possible, unless ET was delayed to June which I’m not keen on. I’ve never been pregnant and don’t have a clue if I can get pregnant yet so I’m keen to take one for a test ride 🙃

I’ve seen people be upset with three blasts on other threads and for me that was a positive outcome because age + awareness of how wrong this can all go made me think we could end up with none. It’s hard because I am ageing and will be 39 in May but three months away from 39 the outcome hasn’t been bad, plus I was on low stims. In my head I’m thinking next time we’ll be on a higher dose and maybe it will be better, but can’t be sure.

What are you thinking, do an EC (is it next month?) and then another before any ET?

@Marvellouslymadmum probably late April based on my cycles, and if the next one returns to normal after stims :/ feels like a long way off but we do have a holiday in-between which is nice. My only concern is they will want me in for scans early in that cycle and I’ll be in Scotland 😬

You’re in a shit ttc situation and it’s hard if your amh is low but that’s usually only relevant for ivf. You have the eggs you have even if there’s fewer than in the past, so if you’re ovulating there’s a chance.

@Carla2601 thanks! I hope so too. How are you getting on?

@Loladoodle sounds sensible, good luck!

thislittlebird · 17/02/2022 10:50

Another embryo just made the cut! So we have four frozen, I’m really pleased. They also said two more are hanging in there but probably won’t make it.

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/02/2022 21:26

@KatRee I've heard nothing so when I ring for my results tomorrow I'll find out about the appointment

@thislittlebird April will be here before you know it!

I know you're right it just makes me think if I don't have many eggs time is deffo running out!!
Great that you got another egg too

KatRee · 18/02/2022 10:29

@Marvellouslymadmum Hope they can sort you out an appointment relatively soon

@thislittlebird I think 3, and now 4 embryos is a positive outcome at any age and ovarian reserve tbh. I haven't seen many people at UK clinics getting more than that, have you?
The nurse that does all my scans told me that the vast majority of their patients get between 1-3 embryos, but they all have different routes to getting there. Some sometimes people start of with loads of follicles and get a big drop-off, and other times they only get one or two eggs, but they will often still get an embryo.
I started stims on Wednesday, so EC will probably be in around 10 days. I feel like strategically I should be asking them to freeze any embryos and do another EC before a transfer, to get as many eggs as I can as young as I can and also do some of the implantation tests before transfer- as we struggle to make embryos (I've had 3 blastocysts in total from 2 cycles varying in quality from 'good' to 'poor') I don't want to waste any because the uterus isn't receptive or something. But my clinic doesn't really subscribe to all those tests.
I think for now I'm just going to take it one step at a time and not think about what to do with the embryos until I actually have some
Are you feeling any better with your breathing today?

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/02/2022 10:49

@KatRee I got an email today to
Say I have an appointment on March 2nd (which would mean I missed out a month) but it's for the maxillo facial unit 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ think they've booked me in the wrong department 🤷🏼‍♀️ will try and sort it when I ring

KatRee · 18/02/2022 11:46

@Marvellouslymadmum Whaaaaaaatt?!?!?! 🤦‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/02/2022 12:02

@KatRee I know! And now I can't get through for my results or to ask about it as there are power cuts everywhere here and I think they have one at the hospital!

KatRee · 18/02/2022 14:59

@Marvellouslymadmum How frustrating for you! I hope things are back up and running soon and you're able to speak to someone. What a bizarre mixup

thislittlebird · 18/02/2022 17:46

@KatRee I hadn't really thought about any of this and what numbers were expected from a cycle until I was reading some threads yesterday, I'd been so focussed on the stuff before that stage and getting one embryo so it wasn't a failure for us iykwim. I'm very pleased we have 4 chances we wouldn't have had otherwise! Really interesting that most people get 1-3, I've never heard any of this stuff before and have no idea what's 'normal'.

That's very soon! EC won't be far away. See how you get on and take it one step at a time. If you get two for example, you might want to try a transfer, or not, you might be happier getting your collections done. Definitely see how you feel.

@Marvellouslymadmum omg that's hilarious and ridiculous. Why have they done that?!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2022 15:03

@KatRee @thislittlebird I have finally managed to call today as I'm out at the in-laws, have had no electricity, water, heating or phone signal signal At home since Friday morning! Still not back either 😕 I got through to a secretary who hasn't a clue how or why I have that appointment and can't work it out so has asked me to call back Wednesday for the proper lady to try and sort it! I did however get my progesterone results and they are 60 🎉 third time lucky I actually ovulated at the correct time ish on the clomid so that's good at least!

KatRee · 21/02/2022 15:23

That's great news on the progesterone results @Marvellouslymadmum No so great about the power and everything being out at home - I'm sorry you've been so badly affected- are you in the south west?
🤞They figure out the appointment for you and can book you in at the right place soon. I wonder if there's some bloke somewhere trying to figure out why he's been booked in with the gynaecologist!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2022 15:36

@KatRee thank you, no we are right down on the south east coast - East Sussex.

😂😂😂 that did make me laugh but you're probably right with the appointment!!

MiaKay · 21/02/2022 15:39

Joining! ❤️

Tinkerbell098 · 21/02/2022 18:22

Hi ladies, bit of an update, I've booked my HSG today for next Wednesday evening! Super nervous about it though. But a step closer to finding answers. Fingers crossed!

KatRee · 22/02/2022 21:16

@Marvellouslymadmum , it must have been bad in the coast. How are you doing? Any sign of power and water being back, or of that appointment in the correct department?

Welcome @MiaKay 👋 How long have you been ttc for? I'm afraid a lot of us here have been around a while - hope things are going/ will go better for you!

Good you've got the HSG booked in @Tinkerbell098. I got fed up of trying to get NHS appointments pretty quickly and getting a private HyCoSy did give me some answers. Hope you get some reassurance and clearer idea of next steps

How are you feeling @thislittlebird? Fully recovered from EC, I hope?

MiaTTC2 · 22/02/2022 21:32

@KatRee I am about 8 months postpartum and my period returned about 3 months ago. This was my 2nd cycle of trying. I'm not sure if it ended or not, actually, I am really nauseous and dizzy and a couple of days late. I tested yesterday, though, and it was a BFN so I have no idea if there is any point in testing again or I should just wait for AF and start again in the next cycle

thislittlebird · 22/02/2022 21:42

@KatRee @Marvellouslymadmum the storm wasn’t that bad here but sounds rough over there in East Sussex.

@marvellouslymadmum 60 for progesterone is great, at least you know you’re ovulating!

@MiaKay welcome! I promise we’re not representative, most people have come and gone from the thread but a few of us cannot graduate however hard we try!

@Tinkerbell098 good luck with the hsg! I was super nervous for the hycosy but it wasn’t that bad in the end.

@KatRee yeah I’m recovered I think but AF arrived today and half our house is being redecorated so I feel quite nauseous tonight, presumably from paint fumes + extra hormones. How are you?
