Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@thislittlebird that sounds like good follicle progress? I don’t know much but sounds good so early? I must join that thread you mentioned I’ll have a look!

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 22:53

@Carla2601 it’s basically not telling us much at all. That’s my standard follicle count each month give or take. It’s varied each time I’ve had a scan but it’s been 23-38 on day 1-3 in the past. So in theory good but it’s possible they won’t have eggs in, or they might not respond, or they might respond and produce mature eggs or immature eggs! It’s a bit of a minefield of outcomes at this stage, but the next week or so should tell me more.

Yes, do check it out! Lots of nice people going or gone through the process over there.

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/01/2022 23:42

@thislittlebird all I know at the moment is that it's to discuss how the clinics not working and hopefully up the dose and do some more investigations like a lap and hycosy.

I have so many hopes for you, really would be lovely for you to graduate! 😂

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 23:56

@Marvellouslymadmum investigations would be useful!

I’d really love to graduate 👩‍🎓 but it still doesn’t feel real at this stage. I’ve spent so long being in this dumb limbo phase that I can’t imagine escaping it. I might not escape it ever but I hope I can 😬

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/02/2022 07:08

@thislittlebird they definitely would! I know exactly how you feel. I see pregnant women everywhere and just think I doubt that will ever be me 😞

Hoping43 · 01/02/2022 09:32

Hi! Please can I join this thread? I have just turned 35 and TTC my third baby. First two conceived relatively easily and now on month 11 trying for our third. We’ve had our first appointment at the fertility clinic. I had 13 follicles which I haven’t had any feedback on yet and my FSH is 9.6 which they said is on the higher side of normal but is ok. I’m really frightened that it’s going to end in IVF this time round up which is obviously going to be really expensive with no guarantees of success. I feel so down about it, I cry most days. I hope you don’t mind me joining. I realise many of you don’t have any children and have been TTC for much longer x

thislittlebird · 01/02/2022 17:51

@Marvellouslymadmum I had to see a colleague’s new baby today and I didn’t really want to when I’m stuck here being childless and infertile af lol.

Day 4 of Ivf for me is a lovely bout of thrush, presumably because of the fsh injections 🙃. Otherwise I’m fine but of course I would get thrush lol

@Hoping43 welcome! The positive is you’ve conceived before so it might just take longer this time. I wouldn’t worry about FSH though, it only really comes into things if you do decide to do Ivf and you might not need to.

Hoping43 · 01/02/2022 20:51

@thislittlebird
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Looking forward to getting to know your journeys x

thislittlebird · 02/02/2022 11:36

So today the Ivf clinic mucked up my bloods and took the wrong ones and I have had to go in a second time 🙃. I’m now here at a busy time of day, at 8.30 the clinic was dead and no queue. Good job I bought myself some comfy trainers recently, I need them with all this train station walking.

Carla2601 · 05/02/2022 10:56

@thislittlebird how are you getting on? Did you get your new bloods back?

thislittlebird · 05/02/2022 13:22

@Carla2601 it’s ok, I’m on day 8 of stims now, bloods were all ok. No side effects except thrush because of all the hormones but I’m on fairly low doses.

I went for a scan yesterday and looks like 10 or 11 eggs are growing. I won’t lie, I expected a few more because I have high AMH but I am on mild stims so it’s probably not an abnormal response. 10 is ok but we do have male factor too so I’m expecting a high drop off rate, let’s hope they can collect all 10 and they’re ok quality.

Lesson learned though I guess, if this round is a flop then I’ll need to increase the doses next time. Will see what Monday brings!

thislittlebird · 05/02/2022 13:24

Oh and egg collection is probably Wednesday or Friday next week

Carla2601 · 06/02/2022 01:13

@thislittlebird 10/11 is good! How are you feeling? When will they transfer them back?

thislittlebird · 06/02/2022 09:03

@Carla2601 this side of it is relatively easy tbh. DH is doing the injections and it’s fine. The mental side of it is about to get harder I think, if they can’t collect all the eggs, if the eggs are crap, if they don’t fertilise or don’t develop...I am not looking forward to the next phase of this really. Transfer would be in the week after collection, if there’s anything to transfer 🙃

KatRee · 06/02/2022 18:22

Sorry I popped up being all 'woe is me' a couple of weeks ago and then disappeared again!

So sorry you were messed around with your appointment @Marvellouslymadmum - so frustrating

Welcome @Hoping43. IVF can be a very daunting prospect and the emotional and financial aspects are stresses we could all do without. However, in my experience the ivf itself - the needles, the scans and the procedures really aren't as bad as I imagined. Take it one step at a time x

@thislittlebird - so glad your ivf is finally is full swing and seems like you're coping very well with it all. The mental aspect is hard and can truly be a rollercoaster. 10 follicles is great, I can understand why you would maybe be expecting more, but anecdotally from all the time I've spent on the infertility thread, quality over quantity does seem to be a real phenomenon a lot of the time

thislittlebird · 06/02/2022 20:07

@KatRee don’t apologise, it’s nice to hear from you! What’s happening with you at the moment?

Honestly I have felt fine, the physical part is ok. I have had persistent thrush since a couple of days after stims started which is a potential issue for further down the line but hopefully not, I’m prone to it anyway. I’m treating it frequently and looking forward to EC I suppose.

I’ve had a migraine today as if I’m due to ovulate but let’s hope the drugs are doing their thing bad stopping that. Got another scan in the morning to see what’s going on.

I feel like I didn’t go into this expecting first time success and the results so far have reminded me of that. It’s an unpredictable and potentially long process. If we could get a couple of blasts I’d be happy.

KatRee · 07/02/2022 19:56

Hi @thislittlebird
Boo to thrush, not what you want- I hope the scan this morning went well- have they given you a time to trigger yet?

I think a lot of what we think of as ovulation signs are actually signs that eggs are growing, so probably good news in that respect, although sorry yours include migraines ☹️

I've got round 3 pencilled in to start on 14th Feb- I am hoping it is a good date. My last cycle started on Hallowe'en so fingers crossed a Valentine's start is a sign it will be better 🤞🤞
Had a really good phone call with consultant last week and he answered lots of my annoying questions. I'm going to try a different stim this time to see if that produces better eggs. It's all very trial and error, no one has any idea if it will or not, it's just a might as well try kind of thing

Marvellouslymadmum · 07/02/2022 21:58

@Hoping43 hi and welcome, sorry to hear you're having troubles this time around.

@thislittlebird hope it wasn't too bad seeing your colleagues baby! 😳 I'm sure that would be me with the thrush too!

Hoping43 · 07/02/2022 22:31

Hi guys. So I’m worried I might be peri menopausal and don’t know if I’m being realistic or irrational. Since having my second baby I wake up around my period sweaty (not properly drenching night sweats, but definitely sweaty back of neck, chest and thighs) and over the past 6 months my periods don’t seem to last as long. 2-3 days of normal bleeding followed by 2-3 days of spotting. I’ve just turned 35. Had the sweating since I had my second baby when I was 32. Any thoughts? Is this all just a normal part of getting older?! X

AnxiousWannabe · 07/02/2022 23:15

@MargotChateau thanks for checking in and apologies for the late reply. I am keeping well and less stressed now. Still anxious lol.

@thislittlebird good luck with your ivf! I really hope it's round 1 success for you. You seem so strong mentally it's inspiring!

thislittlebird · 08/02/2022 05:27

@AnxiousWannabe I sound more chilled than I am lol. how are you getting on? I know you were considering IVF but not heard more

@KatRee yeah, I’m triggering 22.30 Wednesday. The migraine was one day only so I’m sure it was my oestrogen being a pest as usual.

I’m kind of annoyed after today’s scan. I actually have 19 eggs but 7 are probably too small to be of use. Their threshold for a freeze all is 20, and I’ve told them I don’t want to risk OHSS all through this and now I’m going to have to have that conversation again because I’ve also been given an HCG trigger. I’m more scared of getting sick than I am most things right now, it’s very frustrating. I’m ok with the EC stuff but everything after is making me anxious.

I’m glad you have your next cycle pencilled in, a yes, 14th feb sounds more promising! Good to hear you have got protocol changes planned! Have you been with the same clinic throughout? It seems to make a big difference sometimes, do you follow Amber Izzo? She’s had a new protocol and better results so far I see.

@Marvellouslymadmum I feel bad not talking to her about the baby but I’ll do it in the near future when this is over. I’m so tired of the fucking thrush. I treat it and two days later it’s back because of the hormones. I’m going to blast it with oral and pessary Canesten in the next couple of days ahead of egg collection on Friday.

@Hoping43 I had short, light periods start in late summer 2020. I was 37. I think it might be part of getting older because and stress of ttc, it’s unlikely menopause for me yet (high ovarian reserve) but I can recommend acupuncture. I’ve been doing it at least once per month since Feb 2021 and my periods are normal now unless I miss a session one month.

Tofu35 · 08/02/2022 14:18

Hey all, hope it's okay if I rejoin this group- I had a miscarriage in November and now back on the 35+ TTC rollercoaster!

thislittlebird · 09/02/2022 06:39

@Tofu35 welcome back! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage but glad you’re feeling up to rejoining the ttc game.

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/02/2022 17:37

@Hoping43 there can be many reasons why things change, it's worth going to the gp for some tests

@thislittlebird that's what I usually end up doing to get rid of it!

Hi @Tofu35 sorry to hear you had a miscarriage

Hoping43 · 09/02/2022 17:54

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks.‘I’ve had lots of tests over the last few months. Dodgiest one was FSH at 9.6 but was still classed as normal and everything else was normal xx
