Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@VicJ86 Ah I hope so too - hopefully it’ll become clear soon!

All ok thanks, tad emotionally drained after a weekend with young families....it’s hard not to be envious but overall I enjoyed it and is quite fun being the ‘cool one’ with no children who buys the treats! Haha. (Big caveat here I’m not actually cool 😂)

madeleine85 · 12/12/2021 22:19

@Carla2601 feeling much better, thanks for asking. And the opk I did when sick turned out to be wrong, as I got my real high yesterday, so still in with a little shot ☺️.

Carla2601 · 13/12/2021 16:52

@madeleine85 great news glad that’s worked out!

VicJ86 · 13/12/2021 17:25

@Carla2601 it seems that when TTC everyone around you is either pregnant or has a baby. It’s hard not to be green with envy.

@madeleine85 that’s good news. Good luck!

Carla2601 · 13/12/2021 19:53

@VicJ86 isn’t it! They’re everywhere at the moment too (babies that is) there is no let up. Hopefully it will be all of our turns soon 🙏

thislittlebird · 13/12/2021 23:00

@Carla2601 I'm ok now, thanks. Was better by Friday, but it was a bad migraine that's for sure.

I think I've ovulated this month (based on my body, anyway) and now I'm deciding whether to take some progesterone. I may well do so. The doctor gave me bloods to get taken and said I can't be on any hormones when I do them, wondering if I can squeeze the bloods in soon.

Carla2601 · 14/12/2021 11:40

@thislittlebird that all sounds positive - can you call and ask re taking it? Glad you’re better

thislittlebird · 14/12/2021 11:47

@Carla2601 I’ve done the bloods this morning, managed to get an appointment first thing so I’m free to take the progesterone whenever I want really. Wasn’t allowed to be on it for the bloods, but I’ll give it a couple of days and then start taking it. I’m fairly sure I ovulated.

Carla2601 · 14/12/2021 12:04

@thislittlebird that’s great - pleased they could be so speedy for you!

We got my OHs results, it’s the same again. We’re not sure what this means for us but there is some small consolation in knowing what the problem is. What this does definitely mean is it can never happen naturally for us which is pretty heartbreaking. Feeling confused and sad so I might take a little break but I wanted to let you all know as you’ve all been such a wonderful support to me.

I wish you all all of the baby dust there is and will be hoping for lots of positive 2022 news for all of you. I’ll keep checking back sometimes to see how you are and thank you so much for helping me x

thislittlebird · 14/12/2021 12:50

@Carla2601 oh no, it was the same again??? No sperm at all? That must be a bit of a shock even if you have had one set already. This probably isn't much help, but we saw Mr Ramsay the urologist and did read quite a bit around it all, about about men taking clomid to increase production, some have surgical sperm removal and so on. There are some options, even if it feels bleak right now. When you're feeling up to it make sure you see a good urologist/andrologist in the new year and go from there.

If you want to vent you know where we are. x

Carla2601 · 14/12/2021 12:59

@thislittlebird thank you I’ll look into that once we’ve had time to digest everything. If we don’t speak before ALL THE LUCK for January! I hope it goes smoothly and you feel well through it and of course that you get your BFP x

thislittlebird · 14/12/2021 15:14

@Carla2601 thank you! Probably not much happening with me until Feb at the earliest (if ever, because that’s the game 🥴), hopefully by then you might know your next steps. x

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/12/2021 21:55

@Carla2601 starting to feel human again now just the odd sniffle now lucky thank you. I'm sorry to hear the sa was the same, if you can try and get him in to see a specialist I'm sure there will be things they can do, sometimes it's as simple as a little op for a tube blockage etc. 🤞🏻 for you, if you're not here have a lovely Christmas and new year xx

Carla2601 · 14/12/2021 21:59

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you so much - you’ve given me a bit of hope, everything we read is really dark and negative. And to think there’s a chance it could actually almost be a ‘good’ thing isn’t something we’d thought of. Still very fresh and we’re pretty sad but you’ve cheered me up.

Thank you if I don’t speak to you before I hope you have a lovely one too x

VicJ86 · 14/12/2021 22:12

@Carla2601 sending huge hugs.

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/12/2021 22:30

@Carla2601 never give up hope that there's something they can do! I've read stories about all sorts, they can do a sperm retrieval too if they can't fix the problem, really hope they can do something for you x

Carla2601 · 17/12/2021 14:34

@Marvellouslymadmum @thislittlebird @VicJ86

Hi everyone, I know I said I wouldn’t be back for a while but....

I actually came back to share some (maybe) good news. My OH GP and the hospital have been amazing. Since the awful results and dire prognosis on Tuesday they have seen him every day and turned around two sets of bloods. All of this reveals he’s ‘lucky’ this is a blockage likely caused by some innocuous accident at some point. They have referred him for a scan which they’re hoping to do next week but might be January, and then surgery in the new year. I think he might have the UKs best GP - he had bloods taken one day at 3 and got the results the next day!!!

It’s a funny one - might mean there’s zero fertility issue at all - might mean there is one but we don’t know it yet. But we have options, and we are feeling a LOT more positive.

Hoping that lifts your spirits and THANK YOU all again for all the kindness and support. Happy Friday x

VicJ86 · 17/12/2021 14:58

@Carla2601 absolutely amazing news. I am so happy for you! This has made my day!!

thislittlebird · 17/12/2021 16:10

@Carla2601 ahhhh that’s great news. What a good GP! So they think it’s a blocked tube issue, basically? At this point anyway. Sounds like a great start to the investigations, such good news!

madeleine85 · 17/12/2021 16:20

@Carla2601 that is such good news/a great GP to be working with. Fingers crossed it is all easily resolved!

Carla2601 · 17/12/2021 18:47

@madeleine85 @thislittlebird @VicJ86 thanks so much! We’ve booked a scan for tomorrow as it wasn’t expensive and the wait was till after Xmas it turned out. So then we should know what the surgery entails but to have made so much progress in a few days feels like an improvement!

How is everyone? Plans for Xmas in full swing?

VicJ86 · 17/12/2021 18:52

@Carla2601 I’m doing ok, still have some blood on wiping so think it’s going to take a while for things to settle down after the coil removal. I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

madeleine85 · 17/12/2021 19:03

@Carla2601 doing good here, but symptom spotting obsessively and need to control myself. AF is due around the 23rd, so got a while to go, and thats with a 11 day luteal. Trying to lower expectations as I still have a cold/had such bad sickness during the FW, as did my husband, and yet the minute I get cramps/heartburn im like OMG it is happening, even though I know its just progesterone. Today I was like oh I didn't have much hair come out when I was washing it, it's a sign.
Lol. Clearly I need to find a new hobby.

Carla2601 · 17/12/2021 21:17

@VicJ86 urgh I’m sorry - the waiting for everything to settle is incredibly frustrating isn’t it. Hoping you’re going into 2022 with that done 🤞

@madeleine85 oh the symptom spotting is the worst! Everything crossed for you, we need some good Christmas news!

Thanks everyone I think we get same day results so I’ll let you know. I’m letting him go solo as it seems like from the website most people go for 4D scans so......I don’t think that’s a good waiting room for me!

thislittlebird · 18/12/2021 08:11

@Carla2601 keep us posted later!

I don’t seriously expect pregnancy at this stage, but I like it when my cycles look normal/like I’ve ovulated. I didn’t use OPKs or anything, I had an ovulation migraine on days 11 and 12, was worried we missed the window, then on day 14 I was really hot in the night. I guessed, based on that, I’d ovulated on day 13. Lo and behold, I have the classic oestrogen surge signs in the form of some CM late last night, so day 13/14 is accurate I think. I started taking progesterone three days ago.
