Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

Welcome @VicJ86! I'm another recent joiner, but will echo what others told me. You already have children, so your body can do it. It might take time, but you also might just get lucky My doctor told me when I went for a check up and was still on the pill that up till 40 things really are fine for the majority of women. Statistically, you can conceive, but miscarriage rates may increase slightly with age. After 40 things can get harder. Everyone is different. Also, my friend had an IUD removed recently, which is what i think Mirena is, and her doctor told her that some women experience reactions causing them to be extremely fertile in the first 1-2 cycles. Maybe that will run in your favour! Hoping for a fast journey and a lucky #3 for you.

VicJ86 · 07/12/2021 09:31

Thank you, I felt really emotional yesterday and had a few tears worrying that maybe we have left it too long. I read Sperm Meets Egg Plan and have ovulation tests being delivered today. All we can do is try and see what happens.

I hope things are going well for you.

KatieLooLa · 07/12/2021 10:32

Mind if I join?
I'm 36, TTC#1, god only knows what cycle I'm on now... been at this nearly 2 years on and off.
If it doesn't happen this month then I'll be having a very boozy Christmas Xmas Wink x

thislittlebird · 07/12/2021 14:11

@Carla2601 yeah, I find the whole thing weird when they act like you can't have a life unless it's dogcare. People have dogs and live their lives, it's really off-putting. Probably good she doesn't use the crate now so you don't have to have it out. I'd love a frenchie as I know they're highly regarded as good family pets but I can't handle the shedding which is why I have to look at low/no shed breeds when we do it. I suspect we will only end up with one child, if any, but a child and a dog would be enough for us.

I have the same thoughts. I think maybe, maybe if we can do the ivf it'll stick because I've never been pregnant to the best of my knowledge. But who knows, I guess I should consider no losses a positive but it's hard to when you don't know what the future holds. Potentially my eggs could be immature, or his sperm won't fertilise them and so on. It's a lot of hurdles to overcome yet, but if we can get a few embryos I'd be pleased.

I told myself when I got back from holiday I'd try to exercise and shed a few pounds but I feel rubbish. Tired and moody and the weather is crap. Sigh.

What do you think of this email from my clinic? I don't know how to interpret it or reply. Screenshots of the question and reply attached. TMI warning and sorry if my proclivity for thrush is tmi, but I don't know what to make of the reply. Are they agreeing I can have Cyclogest, or just adding it to my notes? Maybe they haven't finalised my drugs order yet and I can take this as a positive that they'll include it.

Welcome to the thread @VicJ86 and @KatieLooLa! I'm in the 2 years (and still counting) club too, what a fun place it is :/

thislittlebird · 07/12/2021 21:54

I’ve shared my tmi ivf thing on this thread and now someone on another thread has said you get emailed a list of meds so I’ll wait for that and see what progesterone I’m being treated to 🤨

Carla2601 · 07/12/2021 22:31

@thislittlebird I read it as yes you can and it’s the one they commonly use so she’ll add to your notes that it’s the one you want....hopefully. That’s what I’d have taken from it

Carla2601 · 07/12/2021 22:35

@thislittlebird definitely hurdles to overcome - but you’ve overcome so many so far that hopefully this is the home straight for you now. You deserve it to be for sure. Yes one and a dog would be amazing wouldn’t it! I’d deal at that right now if given the option. I’m with my mum and she’s saying how she thinks my brother will have a third (I adore his children but it’s tough to hear. They honestly look at each other and are pregnant....which is wonderful and infuriating in equal measure, they’ve got two, can’t it by my turn now!)

Carla2601 · 07/12/2021 22:36

@VicJ86 @KatieLooLa welcome! Sorry you’re here....but it’s a lovely supportive group

KatieLooLa · 07/12/2021 22:45

@thislittlebird @Carla2601 Thank you!
It sucks but at the same time it's nice to know you're not alone and others are having similar struggles with TTC x

Carla2601 · 07/12/2021 22:52

@KatieLooLa it sucks a lot but I do find this thread so helpful and supportive. @thislittlebird and others even helped interpret my blood results when the doctor helpfully provided the numbers with no commentary!! You’re not alone, even though I know it really feels like it

madeleine85 · 08/12/2021 01:15

lol so today I get a high reading while both my husband and I have an extreme stomach flu, and we’re home with our 2 year old dd who just stopped throwing up. I do not foresee any dtd in the next 2 days so onto next month 🤦‍♀️.

thislittlebird · 08/12/2021 10:16

@Carla2601 my sisters have a ton of kids, they’re older, so now my nieces have kids too 😩

So not entirely dissimilar to @madeleine85, I’m having quite a bad hormonal ovulation migraine today. I’ve called in sick but of course I’m scheduled to dtd today and I got EWCM this morning 😭

It’s been a while since I had my usual hormonal migraine. I’m not pleased to see them as such, they’re horrible, but I was a bit confused about where they went for a year.

Carla2601 · 08/12/2021 11:20

@madeleine85 @thislittlebird so frustrating when you can’t DTD and you know you ‘should’ be. Sorry you’re both sick too - get well soon!!

That could happen on my husbands side but my nieces on my side are 4 and 2 so I’ll definitely be out by the time they get there, so that’s something! We’ve been working on a plan b in case there are no options for us....which is basically running away from our problems (to New York I’ve always wanted to live there) but it’s good to at least have something in case it is really bad news. Hopefully it isn’t.

madeleine85 · 08/12/2021 15:40

@Carla2601 great plan b! I lived in nyc for 8 years, cannot say enough good things about it. it’s an amazing backup plan, and hopefully takes some of the pressure off you In this situation ☺️.

VicJ86 · 08/12/2021 20:23

Well I had my coil out Monday and have had 2 negative OPK’s yesterday and today and I’m already feeling disheartened. I wish there was a switch we could flick to make it happen.

Carla2601 · 09/12/2021 00:00

@madeleine85 I spent a lot of time there in my old role and I loved it so whilst it’s not what I ideally want right now the thought of being able to escape all the pressure and sort of start over has a certain appeal. Hope you’re feeling a bit better....or at least that your little one has stopped throwing up on you!!

thislittlebird · 09/12/2021 02:57

I’m awake and bored, trying not to wake my husband up. I’m on the other side of the migraine, I think, still not well enough to eat or drink really in case I start throwing up again but I’m having some water Confused

We had a similar chat about plan B. If none of this works out we’ll take the money we’ve saved and go around the world. I’d love to move to New York but I’m not sure my husband would, and I’m not sure my health would like it either (I have chronic conditions). I wanted to move there before I met him, but never was in a position to do it really. We worked for a company that had a NY office, my friends went out to work there, I should have tried too but what’s done is done.

madeleine85 · 09/12/2021 05:31

@Carla2601 thanks for the well wishes, dd recovered fast, us oldies are still catching up. Fortunately the vomiting stopped, but my husband has developed the man flu🤦‍♀️. It’s weirdly nice to kind of write this month off though and know there’s no chance, so no need to stress the 2ww. Guess I can enjoy Xmas with the in laws, have wine and not feel guilty.

@thislittlebird hope you’re feeling better, migraines are the worst, really hope it’s a one off.

Love the plan B/dream do over discussion. Even if it doesn’t happen, it’s great to have a fun backup out there.

@VicJ86 it’s a really weird feeling coming off birth control and expecting your body to just snap into what it’s meant to do. It’s a lot of pressure. Easier said than done, but try to relax and not stress 🤞

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/12/2021 11:27

@Carla2601 thanks, starting to feel a bit more human now!

@thislittlebird we got both of our dogs as rescued and they're honestly a total nightmare! My husky is so highly strung (known with the breed anyway) but she just thinks she's in charge if everyone and bullies to get her way, with food etc. and if she wants to go to the toilet and you can't see her she will just go in the house rather than go out! The little one is a nutter but generally good but then she follows the big one 🤦🏼‍♀️ I thought I was doing right by getting dogs out of the puppy stage, it was not a good idea! But then saying that the one I got years ago from a rescue was such a good dog so I think no matter what it can go either way.
Oh and I also get thrush Farley often - i hate it!
@VicJ86 hi and welcome, my only advice would be to get checked out with the docs asap, 6 months after starting is usually when they will do tests of over 35. I wish I'd got checked sooner and now I'm 3.5 years in and still here. I also have 2 children from previous relationship and so does my partner but we've none together.

@KatieLooLa hi and welcome, have you had any investigations with your docs yet?

Me - currently cd49 thought I'd finally ovulated last Monday - Wednesday so therefore had my second day 21 (47) tests on Tuesday, phoned today for the results - 8.2 😑 so looks like I still haven't ovulated, or maybe I did but not until the end of last week 🤷🏼‍♀️ the secretary was very nice, said they'll want two cycles of clomid before they'll put it up 🤦🏼‍♀️ so she's booked me in for a phone cal appointment on 24th January in the hopes that I've actually finished this cycles, taken my clomid again and my day 21 before that day 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 she's said they'll almost definitely put me on 100mg or maybe 150mg if it doesn't work again, so yet more waiting for me woohoo 🙄

VicJ86 · 09/12/2021 11:49

@madeleine85 I will try and relax, it’s so hard isn’t it?

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you for your advice, I’m bleeding today but not sure if it’s AF or withdrawal bleed from the coil removal. I hope your telephone appointment goes well. I have weeping appointment with my GP tomorrow to discuss another matter but I will mention TTC to them.

madeleine85 · 09/12/2021 17:38

@VicJ86 it is so incredibly frustrating. I remember agreeing with my husband that we should come of the pill in October, and that it would likely take 6 months at least TTC. I then read the 3 months expectation to get back to normal, and wished I had come off the pill in July. A time machine would be nice! All my 6month + expectations went out the window, and I expected my poor body to immediately get knocked up. A therapist could make a lot of money from me haha. Hope your journey is easy and fast x

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/12/2021 23:06

@VicJ86 I would say it's most likely a withdrawal bleed

@madeleine85 I've done alit of research and it can take some people up to a year for their cycles to return to normal and things to be working after coming off contraception if they've been on it for a long time!!

Carla2601 · 12/12/2021 14:48

@madeleine85 @Marvellouslymadmum @thislittlebird are you all feeling better?

@thislittlebird that sounds tough, I’m sure that’s made this last couple of years plus the IVF a bit tougher but I’m sure you can do it and we’ll all be here cheering you on. Plan b round the world trip sounds amazing....

@VicJ86 did you get to the bottom of AF v withdrawal bleed? Hope you’re doing ok

VicJ86 · 12/12/2021 15:32

@Carla2601 I’m still bleeding but it’s light, I’m hoping it’s AF because it’s 4 days since it started and if it is an AF it makes tracking and OPKs easier to plan. I want to be pregnant already! Hope you are well?
