Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@Geriatric1234 wouldn't that be easier if Amazon did cars?! Everything is difficult to get hold of at the moment it's a nightmare! Will keep you updated on when we actually get ours

Misty84 · 26/11/2021 09:31

@Geriatric1234 Thanks for asking I’m doing fine; mentally I’m cautiously ecstatic, physically don’t feel much different!
Wow that is a LONG wait for your car and sofa!!!!

@Misty84 just popped on to see how everyone is doing to see your lovely, lovely news! Huge congratulations and wishing you oodles of luck for a healthy 9 months xx

polkadotpixie · 29/11/2021 05:43

Hi, please can I join? I'm 37 and TTC #2, we already have a 3 year old DS. He took 11 cycles to conceive and I eventually got a BFP after having a HSG

I have low AMH and my most recent FSH was 9.2 so not great. I also have suspected Endometriosis, visible on MRI but waiting for a lap to confirm. Overall, I'm not expecting it to happen easily!

This is my 5th cycle trying. I had a MC at 5+3 in August from cycle 4 then took a break until this month due to some health issues. I'm currently 8dpo and expecting AF on Thursday (I have a short luteal phase)

ElsieG3m · 29/11/2021 08:36

Hi @polkadotpixie! Welcome to the thread. I've been popping in and out the past couple of months after having two back to back early losses (CPs). I'm also 37 with a 2 year old who will be 3 in February. I have a complex history and had 2 miscarriages and a stroke before our daughter came along. We thought we'd cracked it with blood thinners which I was on with my daughter and had a textbook pregnancy so assumed all would be well next time. I used to conceive quickly but first pregnancy this year took 7 months and followed a hycosy.

I also have a short LP (i get positive OPK on day 19-21 of a 29 day cycle) so have now been started on progesterone from 4dpo to see if it helps. My progesterone level on day 21 was 20 nmol/L.

I'm also waiting to have a hysteroscopy to see if anything wrong.

Misty84 · 29/11/2021 08:54

Thank you @ElsieG3m 😘 and wishing you luck 🙏🌈 xxx

@Misty84 thank you!

ElsieG3m · 29/11/2021 08:58

@polkadotpixie meant to ask - when you had your BFP following HSG did the consultants think the HSG was the reason? We had no joy until the hycosy then 2 pregnancies back to back but some of the consultants I've seen have said it just took longer because I'm older?? I'm skeptical but maybe in denial!

polkadotpixie · 29/11/2021 09:44

@ElsieG3m I'm not sure what the consultant's opinion was regarding the HSG as we cancelled our follow up as I was 10 weeks pregnant by then but I 100% think it was the reason we conceived. I found it quite painful and think there may have been some scarring or blockage that it cleared as I'd had nothing but stark white BFNs before and conceived literally days after I had it

ShirleyValentineManc · 29/11/2021 17:11

Hi all, I'm back! After trying since June 20, had our third miscarriage first week of Nov. We're just stick of this now. Our referral to St Mary's (Manchester) is with them for the IVF clinic but who knows when we'll actually get seen. All of our tests have come back normal so really fucked off that pregnancies aren't sticking.
It's awful to see the same names here, I'd hoped we'd all be out of this group!
2022....

madeleine85 · 30/11/2021 01:27

Hi, can I join this? 36, have one DD, but at the start of cycle #3 TTC our 2nd child (if it happens). Have to wait until 6 months TTC to see a doctor at my age where I live, so the next 3 months are going to be slow going. I know the wait is probably figure out cycles etc, but if I didn't have a good folicle count etc i'd prefer just to know and move on/not feel down every month. DD wasn't planned/happened at 34, so we don't know if it was just really lucky, or what the next few months could bring/not. Also factoring in the fact of being 36 means MC chances are huge, so really trying to not get hopes up. Baby dust to all you lovely ladies.

ElsieG3m · 30/11/2021 05:45

@ShirleyValentineManc I'm sorry to hear that you've had 3 miscarriages. I've just had my second (fourth including the two before our daughter). I hope your appointment comes through quickly at st Mary's. Have you any thoughts on what it might be? I'm on aspirin and now also progesterone due to a short LP. I feel period cramps almost as soon as I finish ovulating. No idea if it's that or something else but going to give them a whirl anyway. Sending lots of strength and hope your way xx

ElsieG3m · 30/11/2021 05:48

@polkadotpixie ah in that case, it probably was the HSG that helped you. My consultant said you feel pain if there's a blockage so perhaps that cleared you out. I didn't have any real pain (discomfort but nothing excruciating). Just seemed odd to me that I fell 1st/2nd time for all 3 previous pregnancies (granted 2 mcs) then nothing this time for 6 months until the hycosy when I feel 6 weeks later...and 6 weeks later again. Fingers and toes crossed for you x

ElsieG3m · 30/11/2021 05:56

@madeleine85 welcome on board. It's great that you have a DD already. That's a great sign that you can conceive naturally and carry a pregnancy to term. I wouldn't panic yourself about being 36. I'm 37 and Lesley Reagan at st Mary's just laughs at me when I worry and says I'm still young. I also wouldn't say the mc risk at 36 is huge. It's very, very slightly higher than at 30 granted but, except for horrible one offs, recurrent mc is something that is likely to happen to you at any age. I had them at 33 as well as at 37. I have many friends who are having babies at 42. One had her first at 38, 2nd at 41. Try not to panic. 3 months is not very long at all. It may take 6 months, may take a year, or may be just a round the corner but I wouldn't look for signs there's something wrong unless you have a reason to do so. I had a complex history so I sort of knew it might be hard though still took me a little by surprise. I really wasn't worried as I know so many people having babies >35. In fact, I don't think I know many

ShirleyValentineManc · 30/11/2021 09:52

No idea! But glad that this new NICE guidelines say for me to get progesterone if I bleed next time. Everyone needs to contact their early pregnancy unit and check they're following this, otherwise you'll have (another) fight on your hands www.bbc.com/news/health-59385621

RugbyGirl1 · 30/11/2021 18:41

Hey all! Sorry I've been MIA for a little while - work has been hectic and I went away on my own for a bit which was lovely and relaxing 😊

I had my progesterone results back at 29 nmol/L which is a little lower than the 30 the doc wanted to see. Got a telephone appointment in December - does anyone know what the next steps may be now?

I've also started acupuncture this last month. The acupuncturist thinks I have a thin lining which may be contributing to the lack of BFP so she's suggested a load of foods etc and TMI my AF this month is a lot heavier than usual (probably classed as normal now and not light!) so I'm assuming it's worked! Although no BFP this month obviously 😂

Anyway, hope you're all well 😊

madeleine85 · 30/11/2021 18:57

@ElsieG3m thanks so much for your kind words, it helps to put it in perspective, and it really helps to read other people's experiences around the same age range.

I think I am expecting this to not be easy, my husband had a tube issue as a child and was told there was a 40% chance of children one day, and I had eating issues for almost 20 years. To say DD came as a shock was an understatement lol. Now that I am finally in therapy/being good to my body it feels hard to think it will just do what I want, but time will tell on that one.

Now we are TTC, everything feels strange, my body had every BFP symptom the first month, and cramps most of month 2, so I am clearly obsessing/reading too much into it, or having strange pill comedown symptoms. With DD I didn't know I was pregnant until week 6. Very much looking forward to getting onto a normal cycle (hoping soon)! Right now I am averaging 30-40 days, but one was first month, and the next I had the covid booster, maybe this will be the month of normality :). If not... there will be xmas wine!

thislittlebird · 30/11/2021 19:02

@RugbyGirl1 why does she think you have a thin lining? Acupuncture has been great for me at lessening the PMS symptoms and making my periods regular length and heavier again. They went short and light for about six month last year. But weirdly my lining was fine throughout all this, it’s actually above average when I go for scans and thickens up quickly. The nurse told me that the body can reabsorb it, probably because of stress, so I wouldn’t worry too much if your periods are light. Were they heavier in the past?

For your progesterone it could just be a day or few hours out since it’s almost 30. are they retesting?

@ShirleyValentineManc that’s great news on the progesterone. It’s so frustrating how they don’t want to give out basic things like progesterone that could help a lot.

@madeleine85 and @polkadotpixie welcome aboard!

My line manager said I can take my egg collection as leave today, so that’s good. I can keep some of my holiday back instead of using it up on EC and transfer etc.

RugbyGirl1 · 01/12/2021 16:13

@thislittlebird she reckoned it was thin due to light and short periods - I didn't question it as it seemed logical but never had a scan to confirm either way. They've never been heavy really, no, nor painful.

The surgery rang today and said they want to run another progesterone test as the last one was borderline, so got that booked in. I have a feeling it'll be low again.

When is your EC?

thislittlebird · 01/12/2021 16:19

@RugbyGirl1 it’s possible if they’ve always been light i guess, but even if your lining is fine the foods and things they suggest aren’t harmful so win win.

Good that they’re running another test. 30 or around that is fine, but good to get it double checked. The hardest part for me was getting the day right, but it was low whatever day I went 🙃

EC probably won’t be until early/mid Feb, but I’m waiting for some sort of reply to the info I sent the clinic. I’ve just chased for an acknowledgment of my email today.

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/12/2021 18:30

@polkadotpixie hi and welcome

@ShirleyValentineManc sorry to hear if your mc, I'm still hanging on in here unfortunately - here's to a better 2022!

Hi @madeleine85 don't believe everything you read, mc are not much higher risk over 35 than other ages, a lot of the data is way out of date. Yes there's extra risk but it's not massively different.
It can take quite a few months after coming off your contraception before things return to normal but af and pregnancy symptoms are very similar,
@RugbyGirl1 if you haven't had other tests yet that'll be what they do next

@thislittlebird good news you can take egg collection off!!

I'm still here cd1041now 😂 and still no confirmed ovulation! The opk keep dipping a little then straight back up high/peak again but no proper temp raise 🤷🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 02/12/2021 12:07

Guys emailed me. Starting ivf from week of 24th Jan, depending on my period arriving. All very weird and real.

ShirleyValentineManc · 02/12/2021 12:31

@thislittlebird get in there!

thislittlebird · 02/12/2021 12:37

@ShirleyValentineManc I’m really hoping our eggs and sperm make some embryos! They seem to struggle to make contact on their own!

RugbyGirl1 · 02/12/2021 14:29

@thislittlebird that's fab news that you've got a date to start IVF - must be a relief to get things progressing!

@Marvellouslymadmum sorry to hear about your super long cycle! Do you know what's caused it? Are you on clomid / letrozole, from memory? I've had day 3 bloods, prolactin, testosterone, Chlamydia antibodies and thyroid tests so far. The GP actually rang me today (not a booked appointment, just to chat through things through which was a nice surprise!). She wants me to repeat day 21 bloods, get DH to do his SA (which he seems reluctant to book) and after that she's happy to refer to fertility clinic so we'll see what happens next.
