Hope this works girls, haven’t done this before, we’ve run out of space on the other thread.

@Marvellouslymadmum we were supposed to be going to the cinema today too, it’s our first anniversary 😔. Instead I took a day off work to go to the fertility clinic and have an afternoon migraine sleep 🥴.

Trigger is now taken, I don’t know if my body was lacking HCG (I mean it definitely is but that’s another matter lol) but my migraine feels better after, which is odd. Maybe it had just been long enough that the migraine decided to die off. I’m going to test out my trigger this month. I want to see how long it stays in my system.

Nice, when do you start/when is cycle day 2?

Marvellouslymadmum · 08/10/2021 21:39

@thislittlebird aww that's a shame, but at least it's for something good! That is good about the migraine going though.

I'm not really sure as my last four cycles have been two long and two short but I may have ovulated a couple of days ago, just waiting on the temps to see if it definitely happened or only just tried it, but if it did it'll be about two weeks to start

Who is Caroline and what's she waffling about? I didn't see the post before it was hidden 🤔

thislittlebird · 08/10/2021 23:07

No, neither did I 🤨

thislittlebird · 08/10/2021 23:07

Are they doing any scans or blood tests with the clomid or just leaving you to it? @Marvellouslymadmum

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/10/2021 08:58

@thislittlebird yes I was quite surprised actually! I get a scan in the first cycle to check my follicles and lining then blood tests on day 21 every cycle! Very impressed. Not that I have any way of contacting my consultant still so I assume I just get the results through the gp 🤷🏼‍♀️ on my letter it still just says my amh is 1.3 so I'm taking it is in ng/ml as that's a better result than pmol/L lol

thislittlebird · 11/10/2021 20:15

@Marvellouslymadmum that sounds good! I hope it’s ng/ml but it’s probably still ok at nmol because it means you are with eggs.

So I have to start progesterone soon but I’m convinced I started it too early last month (I followed the nurse’s instructions). This month the nurse was very vague on the instructions so I’m timing it myself. On the plus side I sensitive nipples today and I think that means I have/will ovulate(d) 🤨. I don’t get stuff like that very often, come on those two eggs! Free yourself from the follicles, ladies.

I thought the attached would be of interest to anyone in the IVF club. It’s an update on the BPAS fertility clinic launch.

Just wanted to drop by and say I’m still lurking and crossing everything for you IVFers!

All great here, it’s been a huge relief ditching ttc. I feel like myself again! DH has his vasectomy booked for next month, so we are drawing a very firm line under it all…and I’m going new car shopping 🤣

Crossing everything for some pre-Xmas BFPs! Xxx

Misty84 · 12/10/2021 13:16

Finally got the DNA fragmentation results back, basically horrendous, partner is being referred to an andrologist and our next round won’t be until at least January. There was me planning for 2 weeks time! Absolutely gutted.

@Geriatric1234 You’re wise to be out of all this xx

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 13:53

@Geriatric1234 👋🏻 hello! honestly you’re the only sane one left here 😂. The rest are pregnant or bored of our endless ttcing, probably!

@Misty84 what’s the breakdown? Is he on supplements now? And have they checked for a varicocele? Sorry if you’ve said this already and I’ve forgotten.

Geriatric1234 · 12/10/2021 13:58

@Misty84 it blows my mind how awful you felt during the first 2 years of TTC only to find out now about male issue. So sorry :-(

Geriatric1234 · 12/10/2021 14:00

@thislittlebird More like I'm just a functioning caffeine and wine addict...;-p Are you having a collection this cycle? x

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 14:04

What @Geriatric1234 said. A surprise male factor issue fucking sucks tbh. We’ve known about ours since the start, so at least we’ve had time to adjust.

No, no collection for me just doing a monitored letrozole cycle with trigger shot and progesterone. Trying to get the stupid eggs out of their houses. I’m in the two week wait now, so much fun 🤪

Misty84 · 12/10/2021 14:35

Thanks @Geriatric1234 and @thislittlebird, that’s exactly how it feels, just such a curve ball to deal with on top of how much time and emotion we’ve already put into it over the last few years. It really feels like everything is working against us 😔 I just can’t see it happening, I really can’t.

Yes he’s on supplements. They’re going to check for those things (infection, dilated vessels etc) over the next few months. I actually thought that was all part of the defragmentation cost (£500), but no, more money to part ways with.

Breakdown of the sperm was given in very simplistic terms:
Average sperm they want 64%, my partner was 14% 😣
Bad sperm they want

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 17:32

@Misty84 I’m just comparing it to DH’s because I find it hard to understand. So the high comet score was 32%? Is that right?

And yeah, they always want more money, sadly 🙄

Misty84 · 12/10/2021 17:36

@thislittlebird Yes that’s correct. How does that compare? X

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 17:37

For comparison, DH was

Average 31%
Low 59%
High 0%

This isn’t great, but JRams was happy with it for a man about to turn 40 with low motility, but the 0% High Comet Score in particular was a positive.

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 17:38

Again when we spoke to Faris he said the 0% was good, so I guess the aim will be to get your DH’s high score down?

Misty84 · 12/10/2021 19:35

Oh well that’s a hella lot better than mine hey. DP is only 31, not that that’s helped whatsoever.
Gonna take some time out from this, just too low now, it’s yet another major blow and I’m done with it taking over my life. Can’t do fuck all until Jan anyway! Good luck everyone else in the meantime.

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 19:41

@Misty84 bear in mind that this was after months and months of impryl, ubiquinol, omega 3, and a number of others I forget, he started them in February or March. 0% is quite rare they said, so I’m assuming it was a one off or a result of the supplements. Either way, it’s still not great average wise according to the parameters but it’s enough to move to ICSI.

Take some time to enjoy autumn and Christmas and enjoy yourself, drink and eat well and get him on antioxidants maybe, so that when you try again you have the best chance. I know it’s hard, but he’s young and you know now so I bet you’ll see improvement once he’s on supplements for a while.

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/10/2021 20:01

@thislittlebird well yes I definitely have eggs we just have to hope they're decent ones now! 🤞🏻 for those eggies for you!!

@Geriatric1234 lovely to hear from you! Glad you're so positive on it all and new car shopping is fun, though I warn you there are so many delays at the moment most cars aren't available until next year and they keep getting delayed further, it's a nightmare!

@Misty84 im so Sorry, hopefully when he is referred there is something that can be done to sort it out 🤞🏻

So ladies what would you do in my situation? I'm currently 7dpo last cycle before clomid and I've trapped a nerve in my back - AGAIN! Do I refuse all strong meds in the hope it goes by itself or at least doesn't get any worse over the next week before af is due to show her ugly face just in case by some miracle I happen to get a bfp or do I say let's face it there's been nome why should I get one now and take the pain relief?! I'm so torn, I really want to avoid it just on the off chance but I'm also in agony 🤦🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 12/10/2021 23:01

@Marvellouslymadmum we’re planning on getting a car in the new year, but mostly because they aren’t available until then 🥴

Honestly I’d probably take at least some drugs. What are they?

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/10/2021 23:17

@thislittlebird you'll need to order your car asap, we ordered ours in august and were told it would be ready 22nd October, knowing about the delays i rang up just over a week ago to confirm everything was still ok and was told the date has now been put back to 17th December! We looked around as we were thinking about cancelling and ordering something else and almost everything was unavailable until next year and we still like ours best so we have stuck with it just hope it's not delayed too much more!
I had the tablets left over from last time, I looked them up online to see what it said naproxen it said is ok in early pregnancy but not late, so I took one of those, very strong cocodamol is not recommended but again ok early on so I took one of those and diazepam is ok haven't taken that yet will see how bad it gets 😂

thislittlebird · 13/10/2021 08:54

@Marvellouslymadmum cocodamol and me don’t get along 😩. Hopefully the naproxen will help, I always think it’s not worth worrying when the odds are against us.

Oh god, sounds like we’ll never end up with a new car if it’s all delayed lol. We have a small Peugeot 208 because we don’t drive much and I’ve bashed it up a bit. Luckily it’s low emissions since our bit of London has just entered the ULEZ. On the plus side it should sell ok I think, because it’s low emissions.

We will have to have a look in the new year now, probably.
