@Lozfish made the mistake of searching on the internet for 'slow rising hcg success stories' 🙈🙈 why do I do this to myself?! Its like a slow form of mental torture isn't it?! And I totally know what you mean, I had to take a good few months there to get ready for ivf again and whatever it would throw at me (quite a lot it would seem!)....each time just knocks you off your feet. Take as much time as you need, there's no rush (unless you're 42 like me then by god get your skates on! 😂 ) xxx

bluepixie · 29/07/2021 10:25

Can I ask everyone when mr shehata advises progesterone until? Thanks

Danni8 · 29/07/2021 10:28

Hey ladies. I was following the last thread and hadn't managed to bookmark this one to keep up.

I'm sorry to read that some of you guys have had further losses recently. It's so heartbreaking I know. Sending you all lots of love.💓💓💓

I also wanted to ask if any of you ladies have asked for a laparoscopy to investigate endometriosis? I don't think I have symptoms apart from always having a thicker than usual lining at scans and having heavy periods with cramps. But wondering if any of you have investigated this to see if it's contributing to losses? Xx

VenusStarr · 29/07/2021 13:40

Hi @Cream123 progesterone until 16 weeks with Dr S. Hope you're OK.

Hi @Danni8 I've not had a laparoscopy. We do struggle to conceive so I had a hysteroscopy and hsg. I don't believe I have endo but I do have adenomyosis that was picked up on scans. Are you under Dr Shehata?

@Luckyducky2 best of luck for your bloods tomorrow. Will you get the results the same day?

Hope youre OK @Tumby

Hope your op went well today @Lozfish

I'm finding progynova is making me tired and hungry. I've got to get up at 5 tomorrow to get to crp for 8.30! 😴

Danni8 · 29/07/2021 23:13

@VenusStarr hey lovely. I'm still under Dr S on the NHS (we get reviewed every 6 months). I went to see Dr Gorgy in may and am doing lit therapy and other immune stuff with him.

Ooh good luck for your appointment tomorrow. Are you going in for intralipids? Yah progynova made me sleep too, especially when I added uterogestan. Hang in there
Yeah makes sense. I can't figure out if I'm overdoing it or if it's plausible to wonder! I've seen conflicting research on whether or not endo contributes to losses! X

Lozfish · 30/07/2021 07:31

Hi ladies. My surgery went well yesterday - the adhesions were over my Fallopian tubes so I'm so glad he was so thorough and wanted to go back and check before we tried again as we wouldn't have been able to conceive. It feels a different world from the NHS who refused to even get the tissue out in the first place saying it would come out in 'my period'. Thank God for Dr. Jan. He's also signed us off to try this cycle as I've only just started my period. After finding no heartbeat in April, this miscarriage is finally over and I can move on and try again so I'm really happy 😃 Intralipids booked on Tuesday.

Hope all is well with everyone else. Good luck with your bloods today @Luckyducky2 x

VenusStarr · 30/07/2021 08:13

Great news @Lozfish 🙌 I've just parked up and going to see Dr Jan in 20 minutes! So pleased he was thorough and you got the go ahead to ttc.

@Danni8 I'm just having a scan today, hoping the progynova is keeping my ovaries quiet and we can carry on with this mock cycle. It's making me very emotional though, I've been getting flashbacks to my first miscarriage and I've been welling up on the drive down. I think it's a combination of feeling tired, hormones and overwhelmed that we're still on this journey.
I don't know much about endomitriosis - would it been seen on a scan? I've heard good stuff about Dr Gorgy, so if he's not suggested a lap, I'd maybe go with the treatment plan for now. It's so hard to know what to do for the best isn't it? 😔 We thought we'd cracked it when we got the diagnosis from Dr S but then we've uncovered a potential lining issue now.

I hope you're OK @Luckyducky2 ❤️

Will report back after my scan. Decided to get a nice breakfast after before I drive home... X

Lozfish · 30/07/2021 08:17

@VenusStarr I hope it goes well, let us know what he says. Good idea about the breakfast, you gotta look after yourselves, these appointments are always very stressful. You are in great hands though xx

treesall · 30/07/2021 09:19

@Lozfish that's such great news, I'm so pleased your procedure went well. And fab that you can start trying this cycle, yay! Fingers crossed for you that this is a lucky month.

@VenusStarr I hope your appointment went well? And hope you have a lovely brekky! :-)

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Xx

Lozfish · 30/07/2021 09:38

How are you feeling @treesall ? Did you decide to get a private scan in the end? Any more symptoms? x

treesall · 30/07/2021 09:46

I'm ok thanks @Lozfish. My husband was so massively against another scan, he feels we have to just fully trust the plan and is frightened we will jinx things by going anywhere else. He also thought I'd be better off getting bad news at CRP where we can discuss what happens next, rather than anywhere else, so I decided not to push for one. So another week til I find out whether there's still a baby in there.

I don't really have any more symptoms, which is a major worry. Mild nausea and occasional sore boobs, but otherwise I'm just exhausted (which I have had with every mc so that's not reassuring!). Very aware that I was super sick at this stage with my son, but trying not to focus on that or I will work myself up into total despair! I can't change anything so I'm just trying to be positive. 🤞🤞🤞

VenusStarr · 30/07/2021 10:13

Thank you @Lozfish @treesall! It was good news 🙌 we can go ahead with the mock cycle. I'm cd 6 and my lining is already 6mm with my ovaries quiet, so progynova is doing its job. I'm booked in again for a scan, intralipids and progesterone blood test next Tuesday (another early start... 7.30am! Will have to leave at 4.30 👀) and then the biopsy will be the following Monday all being well. Dr Jan is very clear and explains it so well - I think I'm one of the first to do these tests as him and Geri seem to be the only ones who know the plan! So feeling relieved and full - had eggs benedict 😋 was very nice. I know we're still so far away from the end goal, but this feels productive and like progress.

I hope you're OK @treesall it's hard to know what's for the best, but if the worst happens, getting the news at the clinic is probably better as you can discuss what happens next. I really hope that won't happen and you get good news next week 🤞

Luckyducky2 · 31/07/2021 09:02

@Lozfish so pleased to hear your surgery went well, onwards and upwards for you! 😀

Well I am even more confused today after yesterday's blood test, my bloods have now more than doubled to 1700?! I don't have any pain but i still have this light brown discharge so no idea what on earth is going on but I'm booked in for a scan next Friday to see if they can see if it's in the right place and what's going on. Limbo land continues! Aah! 🙈 Had an absolute panic when I realised I only had 6 days worth of medication left so been trying to sort that out and hopefully it'll be here in a few days. I was a bit worried I haven't had the recommended intralipids at a positive test but I know Dr S' nhs patients don't even get the intralipids so let's hope that's not too big a deal? If this pregnancy is viable after all I'll be down to Epsom like a shot!! 🤣 what an emotional rollercoaster!

@treesall I do the same as you, compare all my pregnancies to my successful one with my wee boy. My mum keeps telling me every pregnancy feels different (she had 3 kids) so I try and keep that in my head to calm me down (doesn't really work as I still keep squeezing my boobs to check if they're sore lol 🤣). Fingers crossed for good news on both our scans next week 🤞🤞 xxx

Luckyducky2 · 31/07/2021 09:05

@VenusStarr that's also great news that you have the go ahead for your mock cycle, I think you always feel so much better when you're actually doing something, it's the waiting around that's a killer! Xxx ps those eggs bendict sound amazing!

VenusStarr · 31/07/2021 09:36

Wow @Luckyducky2 this is a roller-coaster for you. I really hope that next Friday you have a positive scan. It's hard for you still to be in limbo, hopefully your bloods more than doubling is a good sign.

I think yesterday with the driving and the hormones have taken it out of me, I feel so tired today, even though I've had at least 11 hours sleep. I feel quite fuzzy headed today.

Wired76 · 31/07/2021 10:35

Whilst the whole process, with all the waiting, the crushing disappointments and incredibly dark days is utterly soul destroying it may be hard to hear someone say it’s worth pushing on. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and in that light there may be the gleam of a rainbow.

@Wireless77, occasionally of this parish and aged 44, 5 MCs, Mr S complex plan w/o pred, 6 rounds SO (3 BFPs, 3 HBs, one unknown but massive SCH, one T13) - also my partner and one of the strongest women I know - gave birth to our son yesterday evening.

Lozfish · 31/07/2021 12:12

@Wired76 and @Wireless77 major congratulations! That message has made me incredibly emotional, thank you for sending xxx

VenusStarr · 01/08/2021 08:42

Wonderful news 💙 @Wired76 @Wireless77 congratulations

@Daffodil21 thinking of you, hope you're well.

treesall · 01/08/2021 09:25

@Wired76 huge congratulations to you both. Thank you for giving us all hope!

@VenusStarr sorry for the stupid question, but what is a mock cycle?

@Luckyducky2 oh my gosh this is such a roller coaster for you! I think the intralipids are meant to last in your system for a month anyway so hopefully even without a top up at positive test, you'd still be covered? But I have a friend who is due to give birth imminently who didn't have intralipids even privately with dr S - she told him she simply couldn't afford it, and she's had success anyway x

Daffodil21 · 01/08/2021 10:10

Absolutely lovely news @Wired76 @Wireless77 - huge congratulations!!

@Luckyducky2 what a rollercoaster. Hope all turns out well. Thinking of you ❤️

Thanks @VenusStarr a week tomorrow until my CS. I'm off to an Airbnb near the hospital tomorrow which is a huge relief knowing that if it happens sooner I'll be less than 10 mins away rather than over an hour. So let's hope nothing happens until we get there tomorrow. Starting to get a bit nervous now. I just wish I knew what the outcome will be, but at the same time it's nice not knowing for sure if that makes sense. Hope you're doing ok xx

VenusStarr · 01/08/2021 10:54

Not a silly question @treesall. As I'll be going a frozen embryo transfer, the clinic said to do a cycle where I basically do everything I'll do for a frozen transfer but instead of transferring, I'll have a biopsy instead. So I need intralipids, fragmin, cyclogest and prednisolone as well. They'll be able to check my lining for receptivity for implantation and also for any inflammation or infection. If it's all clear, I can book my transfer. If something shows up, I'll need antibiotics and probiotics and I may need more progesterone. The results take about 3 weeks. It's mad how quickly all of the acronyms and protocols you pick up when you're having to do it, but if you don't it's a foreign language! :)

That's good @Daffodil21 I'm glad you're close to the hospital should you need it before your planned cs date. I hope you are able to rest as much as you can this week. I'm thinking of you xx

ginandoreos · 01/08/2021 12:49

@Wired76 and @Wireless77 when I read your message, the tears came! How absolutely wonderful, congratulations to you both ❤️❤️❤️😊.

@Daffodil21 so close now! You sound well prepared and comfortable with your plans - this is great 😊. Will be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing from you next week! Look after yourself and rest 😍 Xxxx

@VenusStarr I wasn't sure what a mock cycle was either but that sounds like a great plan, to get to to exactly the right place you need to be for transfer 👍🏼. Everything moving forwards now in the right direction, and you sound very positive which is great ❤️.

@Luckyducky2 how are you doing?? I hope you are okay, the waiting to find out what is going on is just so hard! You are right not to worry about intralipids, my best friend has had 2 successful pregnancies via Mr S NHS protocols and no intralipids involved in that. Are you all sorted with you medication?

@Lozfish I'm so glad your surgery went well. I'm sorry you've had to go through it but it sounds like Dr Jan was excellent and you are now in a great position to move forward. I hope you have been well looked after 😊❤️.

@treesall I hope you've been able to keep busy/distracted whilst waiting for your scan, it's so hard! Just gotta do whatever you've gotta do to keep going and try to stay positive if you can 👍🏼👍🏼. It was macrame for me this weekend!!

Sorry if there are any lovely ladies I haven't tagged - sending love to everyone, whatever you are going through 💪🏼💪🏼❤️ xxx

myrainbowjourney · 01/08/2021 16:23

Hi ladies

Really quick question for you all. My appointment is tomorrow and my other half has helpfully had a rugby injury and he can't walk 🙄. Do partners have to attend or is it optional?

I'm keeping up to date with all your news. Lovely to read some positive hopeful updates. Fingers and toes crossed for each and every one of you

@myrainbowjourney my husband came with me so I don't know but I can't see any reason it would matter if you went on your own.

How is everyone today?

I'm feeling a bit down as my gut feeling is that this pregnancy has failed. My nausea just hasn't got any worse, its super mild, and i was soo sick with my son by now. I also REALLY stupidly dug out the home Doppler that I used in my first pregnancy. I couldn't find a hb but that's not surprising given I'm only 7+4/5 so I don't know why I did it because all I've done is put myself in a bad mood! Why am I such an idiot?! Friday feels like a lonnnnnnnng time away x

Daffodil21 · 02/08/2021 10:07

@treesall I'm pretty sure dopplers don't pick up a heartbeat until about 16 weeks so try not to worry tooo much.

I bought a stethoscope to check the heartbeat when I was at the stage I was meant to be able to hear it with one and I never heard it because my placenta is at the front. It's definitely still going though x
