Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

@Zibidee ah congrats!!! You give me hope as I think my IVF will be at the same clinic. Parts of it anyway! And yes I've often wondered how people stay sane until the first trimester is done!

@dogmam I'm delaying because of a mix of not knowing the full mat leave details until I start and not wanting to get pregnant the same month or two that's I start. It'll look bad anyway if I get pregnant the first year but first month is taking the Mickey I think 😅. At least if it's Jan I'll be a year in by the time I go off on mat leave.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 10/09/2021 07:59

@zibidee yay congratulations i read yesterday after the 7 week scan if a heartbeat is detected miscarriage rate is only around 4% and after 8 weeks its 1% x it made me feel better x

pinkginpls · 10/09/2021 13:19

@Zibidee Congratulations!! So happy for you, I wish you a pleasant journey ahead.

@Juno231 glad they are accommodating in a way. Good luck with the new job! I am sure you will ace it!

Had my first MMR jab yesterday. No pain but feeling nausea and keep waking up in the middle of the night. Joy...

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 15:05

@Zibidee amazing news, congrats!

@pinkginpls I had zero mmr symptoms at all, makes me wonder if I’m capable of making mmr antibodies 🤨

I’m sat here waiting at the clinic. One big boy follicle which is good news, it’s 22mm. If I had multiple mature follicles they wouldn’t trigger. Weirdly the side I had pain on is where I assumed it would be but nope, it’s on the left and on the right are a few (3 or 4) smaller immature follicles around 12mm. Just waiting to see what’s next with trigger etc.

Juno231 · 10/09/2021 15:28

@thislittlebird sounds like a great follicle! and I'm glad you didn't overstimulate considering you started the cycle with 38. And yes ovulation pain isn't to be trusted lol - I've had the same where I had pain on one side only for US to show I'd actually ovulated on the opposite side... oops.

Sounds like trigger could be today!

Kay00 · 10/09/2021 16:27

@Zibidee Yey!! Congratulations!!

Thanks ladies. It has been a rough couple of weeks really. The good news is my step mum is out of ICU and by little brother is home from hospital Smile. My sis in law is also 100% certain she is staying with us and not going back to her abusive partner and I am really pleased about that, even if it will be difficult having another person in our house.

I agree it will be best to keep our TTC efforts quiet, and I can pretend to be popping to by office when I'm going for appointments. I just hope the Clomid doesn't make me irrationally emotional Grin haha!

On the downside, my sis in law told me she had a chemical just a few weeks ago... so I think it will be bitter sweet if I actually fall pregnant whilst she is here.

@thislittlebird Great follicle news! Do you mind me asking why the do the trigger shot, and don't allow it to pop out naturally?

@Juno231 How exciting that you finally have a rough date for your IVF start... that's certainly something to look forward too. It will come around in no time! When do you start your new job? Do you feel prepared?

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 18:55

@Juno231 Yeahhh, I'm also glad. They warned me when I (eventually!) went in that a few that were growing on Wednesday could have matured but luckily they took a backseat. Obviously it's only 5 days of meds but nice to know they didn't go wild. O pain is definitely not to be trusted, it's happened to me before too at another scan, I bet that ovary is just a try-hard. My lining was good too, 10.3 or 10.6mm, can't quite remember, and triple layer. Trigger is indeed today! Shock They gave me ovitrelle and I'm bricking it, got to do it tonight, then try for a few days, and start progesterone from Sunday night. They also want me to test in 2 weeks on the Friday, and if negative test again in two days. Not sure why I can't just do it the one time, I really don't like testing. Confused

@Kay00 even if you did get pregnant you have a bit of time (hopefully) before it's obvious.

With the trigger, I think they do it because they aren't sure if you're ovulating naturally because it's not always used with ovulation induction drugs. It should help the process along too, it helps the dominant follicle(s) mature ready for ovulation and the hope is they'll pop out in the next 36 hours ish so you can time ttc. And I guess they'd rather trigger you with one or two mature follies instead of letting them keep growing, in case you don't naturally ovulate immediately.

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 19:01

Forgot to say, good news on your step mum and little brother @Kay00!

Oh and these three boxes in the photo cost me £94 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

PurpleUnicorn01 · 10/09/2021 20:03

@thislittlebird couldn't you get a pre-paid prescription. I had one for 3 months whilst having treatment.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 10/09/2021 20:04

@Kay00 that is great news. I hope you're well.

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 20:06

@PurpleUnicorn01 was yours nhs? this was private, I don’t think those work for private? I have a yearly one. At least I can’t imagine the nhs would let you use it for private scripts.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 10/09/2021 20:15

@thislittlebird yes mine was nhs

thislittlebird · 10/09/2021 20:22

@PurpleUnicorn01 yeah we aren’t with them yet (although they should have tried ovulation induction with me a few months ago 🤨) but will be for our first ivf round. In the meantime we’re trying a medicated ovulation induction cycle with the private clinic.

Zibidee · 10/09/2021 21:03

Thanks everyone, still trying not to get excited but I feel a bit more relaxed than I did a week ago, fretting about every little thing.

thislittlebird · 11/09/2021 20:14

I would be too @Zibidee

Absolutely no sensation post trigger injection. Not sure what to make of that 🤨

Kay00 · 11/09/2021 20:58

@thislittlebird 😆 are you meant to feel something? I would imagine your ovaries would feel like a rocket was taking off 🚀 but I suppose its just one cell popping out of a clump of other cells.

thislittlebird · 11/09/2021 21:10

@Kay00 yeah it’s weird, I guess I expected ovulation pains to ramp up afterwards???? Because the trigger is what causes OHSS in an ivf cycle. I think me and my one big follicle are safe from OHSS on this occasion. No rocket launching is occurring.

It was good injection practice for DH though. Pessaries start Sunday 🥴

Zibidee · 11/09/2021 22:28

Don't worry, pessaries are much easier than you'd think, just like putting in a tampon with a little applicator stick. Although post egg retrieval everything is very tender so it might ache like a period cramp the first few days.
Make sure you have liners or towels in though, the gunk is copious!

thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 00:09

@Zibidee I’m fine with pessaries because I get a lot of thrush (seems this is a PCO/s thing too) but I think in going to do them the other way. I get so much irritation that that gunk is really going to aggravate me further so rectally seems the better choice.

Zibidee · 12/09/2021 08:31

Ok, although the one I have, Lutigest, can't be done rectally so maybe check whether the one you have can.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 12/09/2021 08:31

@thislittlebird @Zibidee i did the same. Thrush is not fun. Ive never had it before. Rectally ive had zero issues.

thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 09:11

@Zibidee yeah I asked the nurse straight away lol. Wasn’t getting caught out and being stuck with thrush for ages Confused

@PurpleUnicorn01 did you get thrush doing them vaginally or just skipped that way? I’d seen so many stories on here of the mess they make and I just know it’ll set off all sorts of irritation issues.

dogmam · 12/09/2021 10:20

@thislittlebird how exciting that you triggered. Don't worry about not having a sudden sensation after it, I know its different circumstances but even with all the follicles I had i didn't feel anything new when I triggered other than extreme bloating but started from the all stims. Also, cyclogest is the same pessaries I'm using, other than being a bit messy I've found them absolutely fine.

@Zibidee huge congrats!! Hopfully you can start to get excited soon. Have you told anyone yet?

I'm 4dpt today, a little crampy but nothing much else going on. Trying to remain calm!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 12/09/2021 12:14

@thislittlebird ive never had thrush until having the pessaries vaginal. I had horrid irritation and gunk from them. Now i take them rectally and have zero issues. Just buy some latex gloves and you will be fine you dont even need to push them in too far literally an inch or whatever is comfortable. Your body naturally holds on to it. Just make sure you have done your morning ahem poops before.

Also at week 7 of your pregnancy fingers crossed for you your body starts making progesterone too so you may get extra nausea at that point, as I did but Id say have a good breakfast before u have it and the night one have at bedtime.

Hope that helps x

thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 22:48

@PurpleUnicorn01 I’m glad you’ve confirmed my fears! I will definitely be going the suppository route. I used one recently for the first time but for my hycosy (it was an antibiotic) and it was fine, easier than I expected, so I’m happy to use them to avoid thrush. I’m going to be doing them at night so I sleep through with it!

I cant imagine it’ll ever work at this stage. I started having this horrible self reflection this week. My optimism level is pretty low Confused
