@Tillybabs It's used for ovulation induction, like clomid is. A different drug that aims to do the same thing. I'm also being given a trigger shot with this course of Letrozole, sometime next week probably.

Tillybabs · 03/09/2021 22:50

@thislittlebird ah I see. Thanks for explaining.

@beckyCarlos I've had so many blood tests I honestly don't know what most of them were for. I'm sure it would have been mentioned if it was an issue.

Has anyone else taken Gonal F?

beckyCarlos · 04/09/2021 20:01

@tillybabs tell me about it 🤣 before this I'd had a grand total of one blood test, I'm now well acquainted with the nurses frown and disbelief after digging around for 5 mins (after previously tourniqueting me and going 'we'll have no issue today, theres a juicy one here') its always nice having a new bruise to explain away 🙄😂

Juno231 · 06/09/2021 15:27

@dogmam how are you feeling? Still on track for Wednesday?

@PurpleUnicorn01 I hope all is still progressing nicely for you!

No updates from me - still waiting to hear back about my IVF funding. Starting my new job in 4 weeks so I don't mind them being slow with the application at least!

Tillybabs · 06/09/2021 15:45

@Juno231 how long has it been? I imagine you should hear soon.

Juno231 · 06/09/2021 16:59

@Tillybabs They've had it since 10th of Aug so not that long I guess! Feels like ages ago now though, time has felt a bit strange this summer. When is your AF due? Ie are you starting on the gonal f soon?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 06/09/2021 17:12

@Juno231 hopefully you should hear very soon. It can take upto 6 weeks.

Yes im all well thank you. Just waiting for the 7 week scan.

Tillybabs · 06/09/2021 17:13

@Juno231 you should hear any day now. Sag should be due in around 9 days. I will start the Gonal F on CD2

paintfairy · 07/09/2021 15:05

Woop, I've heard from the clinic!
I've got my scan and a SA for DH booked in with the clinic in 2 weeks time (they could have done next week, but I couldn't do the time they had). Then the following morning we have a phone appointment with the dr. I guess then they'll decide what they are doing?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 07/09/2021 15:26

@paintfairy yay.you are well on your way x

Juno231 · 07/09/2021 15:58

@PurpleUnicorn01 oh 7 weeks already, that was fast! If all is well is this the point at which you get dismissed from the clinic as a graduate?

@paintfairy woop woop!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 07/09/2021 16:03

Lol @Juno231 it is indeed they do the scan then you go back to your local gp and midwife. This still all seems a bit crazy. Lol

paintfairy · 07/09/2021 16:10

@PurpleUnicorn01 7 weeks has gone fast!

Gracie2021 · 08/09/2021 09:43

@paintfairy such quick turnaround time. That’s fantastic!!!! You’ll be flying it.

Juno231 · 08/09/2021 10:14

@PurpleUnicorn01 ah how exciting! Can't wait to get to sign up with a midwife one day!

dogmam · 08/09/2021 15:24

Hi ladies, I officially have an embryo on board!! Clinic called this morning to say our first embryo thawed (which I've been so nervous about) and to go in for transfer. Partner was allowed in and before they transferred, they put a pic of our embryo on the screen for him to take a picture on his phone, which I am obviously obsessing over now ha.
Transfer itself was fine, more uncomfortable than a scan but less than egg collection. Quite intense as 4 staff were in the room and could tell the concentration levels were super high. Felt quite emotional throughout although we were in and out in 20 mins. So now it's just a waiting game until next Friday.

Hope everyone is ok, I need to have read through to catch up.

@dogmam I have all my fingers crossed for you. I love that they allowed you to take pics. I can imagine it must feel quite emotional.

I pray your little bean sticks xx

beckyCarlos · 08/09/2021 15:40

Oh my gosh @dogmam that is so exciting! I have everything crossed for you. It is absolutely lovely that your partner was with you, especially if you've done everything else alone 🥰

PurpleUnicorn01 · 08/09/2021 15:51

@dogmam really excited for you. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. I was naughty i tested 4 days early lol.

paintfairy · 08/09/2021 16:55

@dogmam how exciting! Fingers crossed for you. I'm sure none of it should be painful though!? The things we have to go through.

Juno231 · 08/09/2021 17:13

@dogmam aaaah congrats on being PUPO! Got all my fingers crossed for you

thislittlebird · 08/09/2021 17:22

@dogmam fingers crossed for you!

I went for another trip on the transvaginal express today. It was the most uncomfortable one so far, lots of pressing on my lower stomach to get the right angle. My follicles are ok, got to go again on Friday for another one and do an ovulation test in the morning just in case they pop early. Of course I haven't been using my clear blue ovulation machine thingy this month and the stupid thing won't let me log a period after day 4 so I had to buy some sticks from Sainsbury's, but I doubt they'll work, ovulation tests don't normally work for me.

Tillybabs · 08/09/2021 17:41

@thislittlebird I find the transvaginal scans uncomfortable in the pelvic area when they move it around a lot.

Perhaps the strips will work now with the medication?

Juno231 · 08/09/2021 17:47

@thislittlebird ooh will they trigger even if you have lots brewing? Wait - do you even have to trigger with letrozole/clomid?

Also am I weird for only having had really pleasant ultrasounds? Grin

thislittlebird · 08/09/2021 17:56

@Tillybabs yeah, there was a lot of moving round today. I mean I do have a lot in there so they’re checking quite a few out but it felt like it went on for ages today. I hope they work, they told me to use fmu.

@Juno231 I have to say they’re not normally bad, just mildly uncomfortable when they move left to right. But this was the first time I’d had to press my stomach for them and it just went on longer.

I had 38 last Tuesday but haven’t had a numbers update since my trip to Guys. I wonder if some just stop developing and a few leads continue developing? You don’t have to trigger, but because no one is sure if I ovulate naturally they’re going to trigger and give me progesterone too. Unless I ovulate tomorrow and beat them to it, in which case we need to try straight away Confused. I don’t trust the ovulation sticks with me, I might try tonight or tomorrow anyway.
