Breaking banjos, poking boobs & getting promoted πŸ™ŒπŸ»it’s TTC bus 44

Minster2012 · 28/06/2021 13:11

Wow that last one was a quick one! The bus driver nearly missed the bus!🏎🚌

Here is the bus where anything goes, and chat isn’t just TTC it’s anything. Ranting very much encouraged to her things off your (are they sore boobs?!) chest. The last bus had loads of work promotions too & we’ve still got interviews so hopefully it’s a lucky bus in more ways than just making babies.

We are here to help and support each other & anything goes. We’ve had losses, heartache & some super fertile short ride passengers so welcome all.

The price of your bus pass is an embarrassing story please, doesn’t have to go be TTC related but can you beat breaking a guy’s banjo in a BJ or whilst DTD?! πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»

And if you see mention of my blog then blame these guys, but I need to carry on with it it, I’ve been lazy! #shamelessplug

paintfairy · 06/07/2021 21:10

@Minster2012 love the dress!

Minster2012 · 06/07/2021 21:18

@GuessHowMuch don't worry I just like to check in on the passengers once in a while! Hope you get to sleep better soon. PAHAHAHAHA love that story, I'd be mortified if my postman opened my door anyway but I guess he felt more comfortable Cos of neighbours n all. Well, he DID feel more comfortable πŸ€£πŸ˜‚do you regularly hang out (pun intended) on the stairs starkers regularly??

@paintfairy why thank a you much love 😘

@GuessHowMuch hahahhaahahaha that's brilliant!

@Minster2012 looking very trim as well! All that emkfit paying off

@bez91 I hope you're okay - do they know if it's an ectopic yet?

@Franklydear wait are you referring to foof as a dungeon?! Cause if so I LOVE IT

Had a bit of a chat with HR today and they asked what I think they could add to their benefits that they haven't thought of. I told them ivf leave, miscarriage leave, and to share their parental leave policy as part of their job offers and they loved it. Let's see if anything comes of it.

Apparently the reason they don't have a minimum requirement of time worked before you're entitled to full pay parental leave is because a lady joined last year and got pregnant straight away so they changed the policy for her so she'd be entitled to it!

Franklydear · 06/07/2021 21:42

@Juno231 πŸ˜‚not quite, @Minster2012 had an, I assume, autocorrect from symptom spotting to dungeon spotting, I loved it and kept it, but as I started wiping light pink I guess it is indeed a dungeon where all swimmers go full of hope only to die there and never find a way out....

bez91 · 06/07/2021 22:02

Good news no ectopic! The sonography said there was quite a bit of tissue built up around the opening to my Fallopian tube so it may have been a ectopic that came away itself which they said is pretty rare but would explain symptoms. They can’t say for sure but just feeling slightly relieved and in much less pain now πŸ™‚
I spoke to the doctor there about the recurrent MCs and he was lovely and said he would make a referral so I'm glad I asked. We've already asked GP too so surely one of them will work!

@Juno231 good on you, is this at the new place or current employer? I think a few countries have brought in leave for miscarriage quite recently haven't they, it should be extended to fertility treatment too for sure. No one should be penalised because it's not plain sailing for them.

Argggh @larrythelizard hope you feel better soon πŸ’• sorry you had to cut your break short

Ladies, you've got me through the last few days you're bloody awesome πŸ₯°β€οΈ

Sunbird24 · 06/07/2021 22:11

That’s so good to hear @bez91, what a relief, and glad the pain is easing off!

Juno231 · 06/07/2021 22:20

@bez91 current employer - I figured as I'm leaving I have nothing to lose in saying this to them so gave it a shot. They'd def give you time off for a miscarriage regardless but I said not everyone would know that and by communicating it women would be more comfortable asking for it. I'm really glad pain has decreased and the CP seems to have resolved itself. Well done for getting the doc to refer you as well!

@Franklydear aah yes that rings a bell. I'll def be referring to foof as my dungeon from now on though!

Minster2012 · 06/07/2021 22:42

@Juno231 why thank you very much! 😘that's really good you said that, and if they changed their policy for someone last year that's actually really good I guess maybe it will change 🀞🏻did you get anywhere with suggesting reducing your notice?

@bez91 yesssssss so pleased it's a "good" result in the grand scheme (resolved I should say maybe?) and about the referral πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»boom it will work!

@Franklydear πŸ˜”blood sucking sperm dungeon go away I say 🀞🏻

Noting down blood sucking foof dungeon for title, that'll get past the Pearl clutchers

Very good suggestions @Juno231! My work actually announced our financial controller last year was getting gardening leave for a couple of months due to struggling with the menopause. The boss said he'd be opening this to all woman in the company and more information would be coming soon but it never did. I have to admit, at the time I thought it didn't sound genuine as it was when dodgy furlough behaviour was happening in the company and we were all working from home at the time. I thought it slightly convenient that our financial controller was absent for 2 months during the audits. Even more so now our boss never actually implemented any new menopause leave allowances! It would be great if companies could consider the likes of that, IVF and miscarriage along with the standard maternity.

Sunbird24 · 06/07/2021 22:59

I’ve had a week off for each of my miscarriages, although my boss was expecting me to take two weeks after the last one on account of it putting me in hospital for 2 nights, I just wanted to get back and get busy otherwise I’d have wallowed. They also let me take the whole day off for my embryo transfer yesterday and encouraged me to take the next 2 weeks as leave even though we’re busy. I really appreciate it, but I know that it’s probably easier to do in the public sector than in some other jobs.

larrythelizard · 07/07/2021 03:04

I think that's great @Juno231 although even if that had been an option, I wouldn't have taken it, I correctly guessed that being pregnant would preclude me from getting promoted on my old team and I never would have wanted them to know I was TTC! Going into work the day after my D&C was stupid though! I'm impressed by your workplace and how open you've been @Sunbird24!

The more I hear about the menopause @2020mission the more I think menopause leave would be a good idea, you may well be right about furlough weirdness though!

Pleased it has resolved itself @bez91, seems the best option from where you are! Also good that it's got you a referral. Be kind to yourself and rest up.

Hate being awake in the night like this, had weird dreams before I woke up. I suppose DH would find it unreasonable if I woke him for a chat?!

Sunbird24 · 07/07/2021 03:47

Morning @larrythelizard, I seem to go through phases of waking up silly early too. Hoping we both get back to sleep soon - think it’s a temperature thing for me, I’m always a bit chilly when I get into bed but at some point I turn into a radiator and wake myself up!

Minster2012 · 07/07/2021 07:22

Some really interesting views/company stances & allowances there! I think you should be offered time off for miscarriage (if you choose to disclose) like @larrythelizard said it's a tough one as it could potentially go against you, definitely would have thought it's easier in the public sector like for @Sunbird24 that's really understanding of them. @larrythelizard you went in the day after???

Btw when's your interview with the big boss @larrythelizard?

I feel really weird this morning. Headache, twingey & so hot but apparently my temp says otherwise

larrythelizard · 07/07/2021 07:37

@Minster2012 I suspect where I work it would be down to the line manager and how they run their team. My colleague lost his mum earlier and he had a lot of time off.

And yes, the day after my D&C. There was an important meeting and I couldn't think where to tell them I was. DH was away for work (I got a cancellation, was a really long drawn out MMC) and probably should have told me not to be an idiot!

Hope you got back to sleep @Sunbird24.

I'm still feeling rough today, waiting for the lemsip to kick in before showering!

Franklydear · 07/07/2021 07:37

Morning all, it is more than spotting but nothing on pad, so I think I should call this cd1?

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 08:32

@Franklydear if its not on the pad it's technically still spotting!

@larrythelizard I agree - I did also caveat it by saying I'd personally not take ivf leave as I'd then have no legal recourse if I got screwed over. It's a flat structure company though so promotions wouldn't be a problem!

larrythelizard · 07/07/2021 08:49

Yeah there's so much to think about isn't there @Juno231

Spotting doesn't really mean anything @Franklydear - see how it goes today??

Final interview is tomorrow @Minster2012 I just have to hope I feel better - feeling horrendous this morning, too much to do to take today off work though

Franklydear · 07/07/2021 09:02

Thank you all, we'll see, nothing at all on pad all night, spotting was light pink tingue and then more brown turning dark red, of course I woke up every two hours through the night so ended up oversleeping and rushing, but golden boy got out of the house and to school on time like nothing happened

Today's happy music, status quo

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 09:25

@larrythelizard best of luck on the final interview! Hope you smash it

@Minster2012 My boss is refusing to cut down my notice and is giving me loads of NEW work to do still. She's mental. I think I have 2 weeks leave left to take though (after the 2 weeks I'm taking starting Mon!) so in total I actually only have less than 2 months to work thankfully. Only got the contract through yesterday so I'm glad I didn't wait with my resignation!

Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 09:27

@bez91 oh thank goodness have been thinking about you, glad it has led to a referral too.

Our company has zero policies on miscarriage at all. I'd imagine we would be able to claim our weeks full sick pay but that would be all.

Franklydear · 07/07/2021 09:29

@larrythelizard good luck tomorrow!
@Juno231 she's mental, don't kill yourself trying to deliver, you're leaving after all

paintfairy · 07/07/2021 09:35

@Juno231 they sound fairly reasonable! Hopefully it'll benefit future people.
@bez91 fingers crossed for that referral now. At least you've now been in and they've seen it happening. Keep shouting loudly.
@Franklydear the dreaded spotting. But no i don't count CD1 until I've got actual blood on a pad and my usual cramps.
@larrythelizard yes you are mental. But I know what you mean- rather than having to say things out loud, its easier to do what you have to do and grin and bear it.

I've been thinking about me. And there's some others on here I think that ovulate early? I've never been scanned on cd11 (ovulate 12 usually) to see how big my follicles are. Right now (with drugs) they are only just the right size. So is the problem (I've wondered this before actually) that the eggs just aren't mature enough at the point of ovulation usually? Hence why it doesn't ever happen for us? πŸ€” In which case if they get the drugs right and timing then a miracle might happen! Took my shot last night. Just hoping that my body doesn't ovulate earlier than it should in its own right! CM isn't looking correct to me......

Minster2012 · 07/07/2021 09:41

@Franklydear I'd say if it continues like that then yeah CD1 today, but love status quo!

@Juno231 so your boss is being really reasonable NOT glad you did resign last week & have some time off too

@paintfairy I think you make a very good point that maybe your eggs weren't maturing so it's def good you've got the drugs and course it can work! They just need help POPPING that's all

@larrythelizard urgh that's so shit feeling awful and not being being able to mope about. Goddamn it

OP posts:
Vil10 · 07/07/2021 09:46

@paintfairy hahaha I should've definitely listened to youπŸ˜‚

@Minster2012 literally! I just don't know what to expect now!! Imagine, an eye swabπŸ˜‚

@bez91 hahaha I said that, bloody wrong hole

@feliznavidad2 then when I went back to get the right one they still weren't sure!!

@Kirky658 hahaha doesn't it! I hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!

@larrythelizard I mean we can all hope can't we!

@bez91 so glad to hear you're not in too much pain now and you're getting the referral! Sending hugs x

I forgot to update you all, not sure if anyone remembers my friend who's had 2 abortions before and a few months ago had a MC, and wasnt arsed and it really upset me? Well the same friend found out she was pregnant again on Sunday, her abortion tablets came in the post yesterday, her reply to me was "I can't be arsed with this, just get it out of me", she doesn't know I'm TTC and how long for obviously but it hurt so much, I just kept my reactions and replies as vague as possible and didn't get involved! I've finally told my mum about us TTC and she gave me a massive hug and asked why I didn't tell her sooner but understood my reasons for not, and I balled my eyes outπŸ˜‚ I feel like telling her feels like a weight has been lifted!
