@thislittlebird they can do a blood test to check for rubella immunity. I had it before IVF as it was a requirement even though I know I had my MMR jabs.

Annny27 · 23/06/2021 13:09

@thislittlebird yes my fertility clinic checked I had rubella immunity :)

becarefuloutthere · 23/06/2021 13:10

@thislittlebird mine did too! Good luck at the GP x

@Annny27 @Narwhal88 @becarefuloutthere not sure if you guys are private or nhs? I know becarefuloutthere is nhs. I’m trying to see what the nhs will do for me, even though I’m private (because the nhs told us go away, which I’m contesting) and someone told me today that’s there’s a huge delay with rubella if you don’t have immunity. That it was a month between doses and then another month for it to leave your system? No one had told me that to date so I’m panicking because it’s going to cause me yet more delays if I’m not immunised. GP surgery don’t know because they don’t have my records yet (?), so all I can do is ask for this test when I get to speak to my GP.

crazycatlady1981 · 23/06/2021 14:24

@thislittlebird you should be able to get it checked via blood test through your GP, but if they are messing you around you can get test from medichecks to check, but it’s £91, so hopefully the GP can do one for you. It’s the least they can do if they can’t find your records!!

Sunbird24 · 23/06/2021 16:06

@thislittlebird I’m private because of doing it solo, but my dr did all the blood tests to save me money. Always worth asking!

@clolo mine hasn’t got those records yet because I moved. I wonder if my old GP would still hold them? Is that something they do?

@Sunbird24 I’m going to ask them, as soon as I can get an appointment.

@crazycatlady1981 I’ll try the GP, but that’s a handy back up, thanks!

Elakiya · 23/06/2021 18:15

@becarefuloutthere thanks for tagging me. Although I don’t check my emails so didn’t even realise. Was wondering where everyone got to 😅

Narwhal88 · 23/06/2021 18:32

@thislittlebird I'm NHS too and it was done by my NHS fertility consultant. Do you know if you had your MMR as a child? Most people did so you are probably fine.

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 18:55

@Narwhal88 I don’t know for sure, unfortunately. MMR was only introduced in 1988 so I would not have had that as a baby but from what I’ve read catch up programmes happened in the 90s so I could have had it then (and I might remember this happening but don’t trust my memory).

@clolo hope your scan is positive!! I’m really feeling the bloat atm x

Elakiya · 23/06/2021 20:09

@clolo

Sorry I am only just starting out on this journey (well been ttc for ages but I am not doing anything about it apart from a couple fertility tests in Nov/Dec last year plus have been given some clomid to take that I still haven’t taken) so don’t actually know much 😅

Good luck I really hope everything goes amazingly well for you.

CycleGirl20 · 23/06/2021 20:54

@thislittlebird I found out yesterday that the weird letters and numbers on my blood tests were the clinic testing me for antibodies to rubella and pox! Did you manage to get your records?

Sjhigs · 23/06/2021 21:04

Good luck for tomo @clolo ❤️

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 22:03

@clolo yeah getting hold of my immunisation info is the bit that bothers me. I’ll ask the doctor about the screening test. Good luck for your first scan!

@CycleGirl20 what blood tests was it on and what did it look like? Didn’t manage to get the records, am going to try to get tested for it.

CycleGirl20 · 23/06/2021 22:09

@thislittlebird A clinic overseas did some fairly extensive blood tests. It's called VZV IGg on my blood test result. I found it when looking for my estrogen levels. Speaking of which, what does low estrogen mean?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:34

@thislittlebird have you tried any other things like maca? That's supposed to be good for libido and has deffo helped my oh, he's been up For it every time I've wanted to this month! Though we've slowed a bit now I've ovulated lol

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 23:39

@CycleGirl20 interesting. I’ll have to see what I can swing on the screening front.

@Marvellouslymadmum I didn’t know it was useful for women too. Funny you mention maca because I showed my husband a wellman product with it in tonight and said “this has maca in which is supposed to be good”. He was sat next to me organising his supplements at the time and then whipped out a bottle of maca root 😂.

I’ll look into it for women, another one for the collection!

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:43

@thislittlebird haha he's adding things himself now! I've got the one off Amazon and it's definitely good for men and women so worth a go

thislittlebird · 23/06/2021 23:46

@Marvellouslymadmum I’ll check it out. Might be worth a go. He’s been buying some this past week or so, I know he ordered vitamin e as well. I think we listened to a fertility podcast and maybe they mentioned it there, can’t remember. He was bang into this podcast.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:49

@thislittlebird that's really good, that's what my oh has been like recently he's making so much more effort now
