@waves1985 have you spoken to your doc about the short Lp? They may give you progesterone

@choccrumpet definitely! You can't eat healthy all the time

I've started with my usual bloatiness - not fun in this heat when I want to wear something cool but not happy with the way anything looks!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 00:23

@Marvellouslymadmum oh no, hate the bloat it makes everything feel so uncomfortable 😩

@choccrumpet pizza sounds good! Haha I reckon you get a couple years expiry on tests 😂 but yeah donate to a friend sounds good

@Slk3558 I did not know about it being 5-6 weeks and the hook effect! Thanks that would have been horrible! I agree on the 7 weeks. I guess nhs is so overstretches though and private scans are surprisingly okay in cost - about £60 so cheaper than vitamins

@waves1985 sorry I had a short luteal phase and late ovulation, I tried soy iso and high strength vitamin C together plus cleaning up my diet and taking pregnancy vitamins. It went from about 9 days to 12 days.

@Marvellouslymadmum I bloat from just a bit of food so am learning to adapt my wardrobe and have more bloat friendly but also nice things. The other day I finally found a pair of denim shorts with an elastic waist that fit me and also look nice and aren't tight 🙃 it can be such a struggle but dresses are normally the easy go to if you're into them

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm going to have to chase them now, I'll end up buying the same from Amazon anyways whilst I wait for them to come 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/06/2021 07:43

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @choccrumpet I hate the bloating! I never used to get it, it's more a recent development the last couple of years 😕 I do wear dresses a lot in summer and most of them fit nicely I just wanted shorts yesterday and none of them looked right on me lol

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 07:54

@choccrumpet and @Marvellouslymadmum I've sporadically had flare ups of bloating for years, and it is so uncomfortable! Does make your clothes hang (stretch!) funny too. If you find a cure for it, let me know! It's often when I've been away and eaten lots of bad food and drinks

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 15/06/2021 09:01

@Marvellouslymadmum @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it can be frustrating! It's more comfortable to wear things with an elastic waist so if you bloat it gives a bit of space for the bloat. Otherwise when I wear jeans by the end of the day my tummy gets sore from the pressure so jeans are a no go especially after lockdown 🤣

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/06/2021 09:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @choccrumpet o just expand around the middle bit where is still have my extra tummy from two c-sections, when I bloat it gets bigger- exactly what I need 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm already 1-2 dress sizes bigger because of the pouch when I bloat it's 2-3 I hate it! Happens every month shortly after ovulation all the way until day 2/3 of af so basically half the month I'm fatter then normal 😂

Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 15:25

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 do you find that your sore boobs come and go throughout the day? Pain intensity varies? Just wondering because I keep having moments of panic when my boobs don’t feel sore , but by the next morning there always sore again but seem to ease off in the day.

Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 15:28

@Marvellouslymadmum did you have any such experiences?

@choccrumpet I know your only v early so I expect yours will be getting sorer day by day..

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 15:36

@Marvellouslymadmum actually I'm bloated for the last week before period. I never clocked that it was hormonal before I started tracking, just assumed I'd eaten badly or something!

@Slk3558 yes mine are similar to yours, really hurt first thing and then it eases off through the day. Have noticed my nipples are huge though, and always poking out now, can't wear mesh or lace bras. Have you seen that? I know symptoms aren't meant to be here until six weeks, but I'm over sox weeks now and still have very few. Do you have much?

OP posts:
Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 15:55

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes my nipples have been sore since last few days! That’s my only symptom really I was feeling sick this morning after my breakfast but it’s eased off now. I haven’t done a clear blue as I’m too nervous lol. Haven’t tested since 18dpo and I’m 5 weeks tomorrow. with my first BFP I had frequent urination but last one and this one haven’t had that which I’m glad about as it’s just another symptom to be overanalysing! Lol

Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 15:59

Like now I feel like they’ve suddenly gone deflated ! Happens in the afternoon. Need to try and learn to not focus on them!!

choccrumpet · 15/06/2021 16:24

@Marvellouslymadmum that's frustrating, I normally bloat a little more around / during my period too. It's not fun. Maybe there are some things that make it a bit worse during that time? Spicy food sometimes does that to me.

@Slk3558 I just checked this in my app, I've had sore boobs since 7dpo. They're sore if I touch them, if they move, if I'm lying on them, when I shower lol, when I run, I'm finding it helps to wear a bralette so they're not moving around. I suspect they're getting bigger. Since coming off the pill my boobs have grown and I have no proper bras that fit me anymore 😂🙃 I'm also super thirsty and cannot quench it although water with ice seems to help a bit and am also quite bloated and feel like I'm breathless sometimes.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I thought everyone got their symptoms at different times, not necessarily 6 weeks. Is that a thing? I've definitely been feeling a few already.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 16:30

@choccrumpet I've no idea, everything I keep reading is saying six weeks for symptoms on average. I've had tender and bigger boobs, constipation and a bit of tiredness from the start. Nausea and vomiting is meant to kick in at six weeks, I am terrified of vomiting, so very worried in case this arrives in a bad way 🙈😂. So lucky to be wfh for the next two months, and not having to travel in rush hour and sit around a lot of people

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 15/06/2021 17:10

@Slk3558 I've never had sore boobs with any of my pregnancies! The only time mine got really sore was after I had my son when I woke up Christmas morning with Jordan's boobs 😂

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've a feeling mine is to do with the endo as I never had any bloating at all but since coming off the pill it's gradually crept up on me like the pain etc

@choccrumpet maybe with the med diet it'll help who knows

I think for symptoms it is totally random it's just more likely that you get them from 6 weeks onwards. @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I absolutely can't stand being sick, sends me into a panic attack yet with my son I was sick every day from about 7 weeks - 15/16 weeks more than once a day most of the time too and it was sort of different, hard to explain but it's not the same as being sick when you're ill lol no where near as bad.

choccrumpet · 15/06/2021 17:15

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that reminds me that I've actually done almost no googling recently 🤣 what is going on. But from seeing replies on forums it seems to be different for everyone, some start earlier and for others a bit later. I've had no nausea today which is great but the tiredness, sore boobs is still there and has been from the start. I actually know when I first felt the tiredness which is strange, I was out for dinner and thought I was good drunk lol. But it continued every day after that 😂 totally agree about wfh though, super lucky to be!!

Have you or when will you be telling your work? I'm thinking about speaking to my manager sometime soon, we've got a good relationship so I don't mind telling him and even if things don't work out for me I might want to take some time off anyways so thinking it's a positive to let him know either way.

Slightly off topic, has anyone experienced a burning like smell or sensation kind of between their nose & back of mouth? I've been feeling this for a few weeks, I thought it was after and due to running but it happened today when I was out eating lunch too. It only happens sometimes and not after every run. I've got no idea what it is and it's a little annoying.

choccrumpet · 15/06/2021 17:28

@Marvellouslymadmum sounds like it could be the endo. The med diet might help with that and I doubt the hot weather is doing many favours for bloating.

Today confirmed that my nipples are facing slightly different directions. I hope bigger boobs don't make this worse or more obvious 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2021 17:36

@Marvellouslymadmum hopefully the Mediterranean diet will help with the bloating and with any pain then. I guess it makes sense you wouldn't have had it on the pill, because hormones are so tightly controlled. I saw on the other thread you got some good news on the semen analysis? That's amazing.

Oh wow, every day for months 😬😵 you poor thing. Really awful. I haven't been actually sick for so long, I don't know if I'd get any warning signs. I normally take and do absolutely everything to prevent puking.
I've only really been looking @choccrumpet because of the vomiting thing. Although my app sent a lovely message about sickness and puking being likely to start in the next week also 😂 cue some googling!

I'm not planning to tell work for a while, but I've some boozy drinks and lunches coming up so it'll be quite obvious I'm not drinking. I'm usually a pretty good drinker. I think my partners looking into giving his boss a heads-up a bit earlier so he can get sidelined from bigger projects for next year so he can take his shared parental leave easier

@choccrumpet sorry I've never had altho burning thing, no idea what that would be. Would it be anything Covid related or from the vaccine do you think? Doesn't sound very nice though

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 15/06/2021 17:59

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I've heard some people who have a fear of vomiting (can't remember what the term is called) found pregnancy nausea okay and no or little vomiting so fingers crossed you'll be okay.

The boozy lunches sound like they might be a bit awkward/obvious for you! Thankfully I barely drink anyways so shouldn't be an issue for me 🤣 but that makes sense as it works for you and your partner. That makes me realise I haven't even asked my partner about that yet 😅

The nose burning thing was happening on off before the vaccine so don't think it's that. I've been doing covid tests here and there and have been negative and I don't think I've had it but maybe I had no symptoms and this could be a side effect? Otherwise google is telling me sometimes exercising burns something like protein or something else, I can't remember now, so it could be that but I haven't heard many people mention it so have no idea. Will try to research it again.

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/06/2021 18:28

@choccrumpet here's hoping it helps! @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes I never had any symptoms before I had my children, started to have very irregular heavy bleeding a while after having my daughter and they just plonked me on the pill, little did I know that wasn't a good thing as it just masks it all 😑 so it's gradually crept up on me without even knowing what it was until I joined mn! Yes really pleased with his sa result and surprised too.
You don't even want to know the other symptoms I had with him 😂 Every pregnancy is different though, I was a bit nauseous with my daughter but was sick I think twice and that's it!

Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 18:36

@choccrumpet I don’t want to tell my work just in case it doesn’t work out again. They know about my mc’s but rather keep it to myself until get into the ‘safe zone’. But personal preference, it might give you an excuse to have some lazy days if you tell your manager😉

I am also wfh not looking forward to returning to the office !

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think 6 weeks is when it starts to get into the higher range doubling large quantities hcg and that’s what triggers the nausea aparantly. But different for everyone .

@Marvellouslymadmum Good to get some insight from you as you have been there !!! Anything else we should know? Lol.

did you end up buying the bike? The gentle exercise might help with feeling less bloated as well.

Marvellouslymadmum · 15/06/2021 18:57

@Slk3558 erm - ice water is a godsend for sickness and keeping cool (but don't get addicted to crunching ice for the next 15 years like I did 😂🤦🏼‍♀️) stay out the sun! Even on a cloudy day I got heatstroke! I think I've forgotten most of it it's been that long lol

And yes I did, we've been for a few little rides so far but now the doors are stuck shut on the back of the van so got to take it somewhere to get looked at before we can go again 🙄

Slk3558 · 15/06/2021 19:04

@Marvellouslymadmum I was on the pill for 9 years. Progesterone only pill, I can’t be sure but I believe that’s what caused my short luteal deficiency. I’ve read it’s worse than the combined pill because it’s progesterone only your body basically stops producing progesterone while your on it.. came off the pill and guess what? Low progesterone. Don’t think it was a coincidence x
