@Slk3558 glad your sickness has got a bit better!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 woohoo to maternity wear 🎉

I'm just impatiently waiting for my phone call to say when I can start my clomid!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/09/2021 19:23

@Marvellouslymadmum I hope that phone call comes soon!

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 17/09/2021 19:29

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 27th so just over a week! I've been busying myself by re-organising the house all week, lots more to do so hopefully it'll keep me occupied next week too! How are you feeling?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/09/2021 20:04

@Marvellouslymadmum I think I saw that you're 7dpo, and so hopefully you'll be able to start next cycle? Organising is good! I need to do the same actually. Its just quite boring without help!

Just tired really, but works been really busy and I've had a couple parties to attend this week so late nights. Just going to be lazy tonight, in my pjs already :)

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 17/09/2021 23:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes that's right, so the day I have my phone appointment I'll be 17dpo or more likely about cd2 so unfortunately I think it'll mean I'll start the cycle after but at least I'll know it's happening!

I find the organising and housework I actually prefer alone or mostly alone because people don't try and throw things away that are needed or put things away in the wrong place etc if I can give someone a job they can't do wrong - hoovering, polishing that's fine 😂

Sounds like you've had a busy week! My oh bought me a tracksuit and honestly I'm living in it! 😂 it's so comfy, as soon as I'm joke I'm in it

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/09/2021 23:46

That was as soon as I'm home lol

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 19/09/2021 12:24

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm the opposite, I like to have company and wine for a clear out! And really, no-one except someone who's paid really wants to come clean someone else's place 😁Feels good once its done, but my gosh its boring. Place now looks a tip, as I've got one room that's a dumping ground to sort through and decide what the hell to do with it. Need some of your motivation.....

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 19/09/2021 17:04

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 trust me my motivation is only here once in a blue moon 😂 I'm not one of these constant cleaners and organisers by any means! I get annoyed because by the time I've finished it all it gets messy so quick again!

choccrumpet · 20/09/2021 07:20

Hi ladies, sorry only replying now, I've had a really busy week with work, friends wedding & now we're away in Devon for a week so things only slowed down for me now 🙈

@Slk3558 glad to hear you're feeling a lot better!! I'm 18+3 today, 20 week scan is coming up soon. Great to hear yours went well @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 and also exciting news @Marvellouslymadmum, hope that phone call comes through very soon!!

I've been quite tired too, major baby brain going on atm. Have also put away all my normal stuff that doesn't fit @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 as my wardrobe was getting a bit too full. I have ordered a few maternity bits to try but been living in my flowy dresses or bigger sized leggings. New look have a sale on and their maternity bits are quite cheap if anyone is interested. Got a coat for £20 so hoping it fits nicely.

@Marvellouslymadmum I like things to be tidy and organised at all times so we try to tidy as we go instead of having these big cleaning sessions 🙈 I'm sure a baby will change that dynamic lol

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/09/2021 21:17

@choccrumpet glad to hear yours ok, yes keeping things clean and tidy all the time with children and pets isn't easy lol

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/09/2021 07:57

@choccrumpet hope the wedding and holiday is/was great!

I aspire to be so organised 😍 I have spent hours sorting through my wardrobe, into store/donate or keep out for now piles - we live in a flat so just don't have a ton of space to keep everything. My wardrobe and drawers were getting out of control and I couldn't see anything which made getting ready stressful - just TOO MUCH STUFF

choccrumpet · 21/09/2021 09:25

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks, we're enjoying the time away, really needed it!

We live in a house and there isn't enough storage space so have to make the most of it / be as organised as I can 🤣 it's hard work and takes a long time, I wish there was endless storage and things would get rotated automatically 😆

@Marvellouslymadmum im sure I'll learn soon enough 🙃

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/09/2021 09:41

@choccrumpet @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 there's no storage space whatsoever in our house, it's an absolute nightmare!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/09/2021 09:45

Maybe at the end of our big sort out, we'll all be minimalists with beautiful homes like a showroom 🤣

OP posts:
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/09/2021 09:46

I imagine that's tougher with teens though @Marvellouslymadmum !

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 21/09/2021 21:17

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 😂😂 I don't think I'll ever have a show home! Or be minimalist for that matter, I like my things too much lol amd yes let's call it impossible with teens!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2021 10:13

@choccrumpet I just wanted to check in and see how your scan went?

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 06/10/2021 13:00

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hello 🤗 it went well and we are having a little boy like you! I felt it was a boy so it wasn't a surprise to me, it was funny how confident I felt that I knew. He seems to have a bigger stomach so had to do a glucose test this morning but it could be unrelated. Everything else looked well.

How are you getting on? Have you started buying anything?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2021 13:47

Congrats @choccrumpet that's lovely news and glad all is good!! 😍

Yeah all good here thanks, just had my 2nd vaccine this morning, so looking forward to being able to go away outside of the UK.

Not really! Have you bought much? I've been given a fair amount from friends that I need to sort through. I have bought a chest of drawers and actually my reusable nappies, but that's about it

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 06/10/2021 13:57

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 great timing for the vaccine! I had my flu and whooping cough recently but am still nervous to be out and about in big crowds.

How lovely, we don't know too many people who have things to give away so have to buy everything. We've bought the snuzpod as there was a good deal and choosing the cot bed, storage & nursing chair. Have bought some little onesies as I couldn't resist and making a list of everything but will get more serious about it now. My head already feels all over the place so will want to get organised soon. Also thinking about redecorating the babies room so will be doing that soon I imagine.

Tbh I just want to be off work to focus on this instead of work 😅 have been finding it so hard to focus and motivate myself

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2021 15:52

@choccrumpet you're being very organised! Buying everything means you're getting everything how you like it and matching though, which is a benefit. How're you doing the nursery? We're looking to move in the next 6 months or so, so I've been looking at these fabric wall stickers that i can peel straight off www.enchanted-interiors.co.uk/5-unisex-wall-stickers

I will buy some little new clothes but later on I reckon, when I see how much this baby weighs. I've been given quite a few new with tags on newborn clothes that people never got to use as their babies were larger 🙈 have no idea what I'll actually need!

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 06/10/2021 16:47

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I like the idea of having all this time to research, plan and buy rather than waiting until 30+ weeks to do it all. It won't change the outcome is how I'm looking at it. Plus it'll be Christmas time soon and I think that will be busy so I don't want to stress myself out.

Not sure about the nursery yet, it's most likely going to have a desk and shelves for our stuff in there so not a lot of space to work with but trying to make the most of it. Your stickers have actually reminded me that I'm meant to look at stickers too! They look lovely. I think we'll keep it simple and repaint the walls and maybe add stickers or something simple like that and use accessories for the rest like new curtains, blind, light shade etc, we're hoping to move in less than 2 years so don't want to put too much effort into it but at the same time we could be hoping to move for a long time 🤣 moving sounds exciting for you! And will be busy I'm sure too. What are you thinking for the nursery?

Oh yikes amazing that you got that free stuff but agree on the size, who knows honestly.. I'm trying not to buy too many clothes as I think we will get gifted a bit, all grandparents first grandchild so a lot of excited people but it is hard when I keep seeing H&M ads for cute clothes!!

I've been trying to expand my maternity wardrobe too, looking for jeans and might have found a pair in new look that fit the best. Got a maternity coat and getting a few tops and a couple of dresses. I've spent so much this month it's insane 🙈 I thought you could do new baby as cheaply as you wanted to but it all adds up!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/10/2021 17:07

@choccrumpet I'm a very last minute person. And honestly I can't deal with the clutter right now 😂 We've piles of stuff, I'm just working through washing it all and had a night of flat pack hell but now at least I can put it all away! More organised would be better, and yes you can then relax and put your feet up at 30 weeks 😅

The nursery is currently my wardrobe. Planning to keep it same neutral paint, and just wall stickers and prints that can be removed easily for when we put it on the market. And maybe a colourful rug etc. Nothing major. Two years you'll be getting a bit more mileage out of it!

I think mat clothes is money well spent tho, makes you feel so much better when things fit nicely and make you look good! I've got three pairs of jeans, some leggings, and 3-4 dresses now that'll hopefully see me through!

@choccrumpet aww so pleased for you, little boys are such cute babies!

I'm so excited for you and @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 buying all your things for the little ones and looking forward to the arrivals. The best advice I can give is don't buy too many clothes until after baby is born, it's such a shame when you have lovely little outfits and they don't fit or only fit once then too small!
It's a shame you're both planning on moving and we are probably far away anyway as I paint wall murals, live doing little nurseries

choccrumpet · 07/10/2021 11:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sounds like you're working through it though! We're starting to gather piles of things so I just want to get the right storage to be able to put it away.

Ooh how sad to be losing a wardrobe room!! For a positive reason of course. We're doing something similar too and yes more mileage and who knows how long we'll actually be here for, ideally not too long as we need a bit more space.

I do agree, it's just a lot to come out in one chunk isn't it!

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you 🥰 preparing is making it more real for me. And I am TRYING not to buy any more clothes 😅 I can tell it's already hard but totally see the point.

Is there anything you can't do!? That sounds amazing and would be lovely, my partner would love that instead of trying to put up wallpaper 🤣 still unsure how much to put into this room but I'll know more when I do a bit more research into it. How have you been?
