@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 😂 I can just imagine it 👊🏻

@choccrumpet I have a feeling my two will be like it for a long time, my son is not as mature as he should be for his age in some respects and his confrontation is one of them 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 13:21

@Marvellouslymadmum hope today has gone well and been useful xx

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sort of lol I was in my appointment for all of 12 minutes! She totally dismissed the endo didn't want to Discuss it at all, said adeno will effect af but not fertility. Said we have secondary infertility as we've had children previously and the only thing she can do is offer a 'tablet' presume that's letrozole or clomid (which is good) but is sending me for another blood test for progesterone and amh first. She gave me the form and said make sure it's day 21-23 which is this Saturday a Monday when they're closed 🤦🏼‍♀️ said it's highly unlikely endo is effecting me as I've been pregnant before (many many years ago) and therefore also highly unlikely my tubes are blocked but she will check those as a last resort! Then practically threw me out the door saying she would call in 4 weeks!

How are you doing?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 18:05

What?? But you last were pregnant over a decade ago, how does she know your tubes are fine now!! Last resort, would take no time to flush them. Very annoying.

That's good news about the adeno/endo likely not affecting things though. Hopefully that's true. And great news that you get the letrazole. 12 minutes after all this time waiting just seems crazy though, although you'll be getting the letrazole, and I guess that's the thing you really wanted?

Are you okay, or feeling a bit let down?

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 19:21

I was pregnant in 2017 and had a mc too but it totally could be one tube blocked or what's to say it hasn't got blocked since then?!

If I'm honest I'm happy about the letrozole/clomid help but not so happy about being dismissed on the endo front as I know that's not true about it not being that so I could have the letrozole but may still not get pg because the endo is still stopping me and the only way to make sure and clear it would be a laparoscopy

choccrumpet · 23/08/2021 19:41

@Marvellouslymadmum your appointment sounds infuriating, I'm sorry it went like that! I am happy for you about the clomid but it really sounds like she dismissed you completely about everything else and yeah maybe generally speaking those things normally don't affect fertility but I don't really buy it, i doubt you're the only one having these issues 🤦🏼‍♀️ that must be so frustrating. The pros is that you're going in the right direction and you're in contact with them now which is amazing! I'm really hoping things keep progressing for you 🤞🏼

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 20:06

@choccrumpet endometriosis can effect fertility a lot but because they've confirmed I have adenomyosis she just put it all my symptoms down to that and that doesn't effect fertility as much. And decided that I haven't got endo because I would've known before now 🤦🏼‍♀️ to be honest if the letrozole or clomid get me pregnant and I can stay pregnant I'll be happy as pregnancy can make the endo symptoms milder for a while anyway but if they don't help I'll need to start all again to get the endo sorted then hope
They'll give me more clomid/letrozole so it could just make the process longer which I really don't need at my age 🤷🏼‍♀️

How are you doing anyway?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 20:14

@Marvellouslymadmum of course you were sorry. Hopefully they get you on the letrozole really quickly, but sorry they aren't giving you the laparoscopy now

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 20:27

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 don't be silly, you can't be expected to remember everyone's info, I know I don't lol. I won't care about the laparoscopy if the letrozole gets me pregnant 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 21:18

@Marvellouslymadmum was clumsily phased, I meant last time you gave birth. I know we've talked about your miscarriage before, and it was a later in the first trimester one

OP posts:
A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 21:19

I just bloody hope so @Marvellouslymadmum!

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 23/08/2021 21:19

@Marvellouslymadmum you know what you're talking about, not saying she doesn't but for some reason is being dismissive, so stand your ground when you need to which I'm sure you will anyways. Hopefully the letrozole helps! And yes of course that's the end goal right now so whatever helps is brilliant.

I'm doing good thanks, have managed to get away to see my family so am happy to spend time with them now.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think you're brilliant at remembering most things that I definitely don't 😅 have major pregnancy brain at the moment too

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/08/2021 21:20

Ahh @choccrumpet that's brilliant, hope you're having a lovely time!!

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 23/08/2021 23:36

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes! last time I gave birth (both c-sections) was 2006 😂

@choccrumpet I think it's because the referal was for infertility, she was an infertility specialist like in a private clinic only nhs whereas I believe I need to see a gynaecologist who specialises in endometriosis or at least a general one (which I and the doctor thought I would be!) as although they all train in everything to start off with they don't specialise and carry on keeping up with new training etc if it's not their field, like anything I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ so therefore she was totally focussed on the infertility and didn't want to know about the endo stuff that I've learned from research and other endo ladies.
Good thing is if the tablets work at least I don't have to worry about the endo for now (though it can also cause mc) but can come back to that at a later date.
That's brilliant that you got away to see your family, I do hope you're having a good time.

I can never remember people's stories completely and I don't have baby brain as an excuse 😂

choccrumpet · 24/08/2021 17:24

Thank you both, it's so lovely to spend time with them! @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @Marvellouslymadmum

@Marvellouslymadmum that absolutely makes sense, I wonder if you can ask your gp for a gynae referral, although I wonder how long that would take, or see if you could switch now. It's a tough one as both will probably help in different ways! Let's see how you get on with the tablets, it's a move in the right direction.

Haha there's a lot to keep tabs on if you could or wanted to, you have to select what you can take it at a time!

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/08/2021 20:59

@choccrumpet well this was a gynaecologist referal but I'm guessing a different department may have different wait times. This one took 5 months which wasn't as bad as the 8 months they originally told me so may be worth a go. I think I'll give the tablets a try and see what happens, they say 28% live birth rate after using them for three months so although it doesn't seem that high I'm thinking it's pretty good when i think ivf is about 20% if I remember correctly!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 07/09/2021 10:15

@Marvellouslymadmum when do you get to start the letrazole?

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 07/09/2021 23:58

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think from the letter she sent it will be clomid (both similar anyway) but I'm due a call on 27th to discuss when we can start it and if this month is a normalish one that'll be right around af so there's a possibility of starting end of this month but probably more likely end of October

How are you doing? When's your next scan?
And you @choccrumpet

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/09/2021 07:44

@Marvellouslymadmum omg that's brilliant that it can be so soon! So pleased for you. Good they're not kind of stringing it out with more appointments before. Must be such a relief that they've got a move on with it! V exciting.

Good thanks here, been away for a wedding which was lovely, really nice to see all my family and cousins, as I haven't seen much of them during lockdown.

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 08/09/2021 10:00

@Marvellouslymadmum that sounds positive and exciting to try something different! 🤞🏼

I've been alright thanks, good mostly but struggling with tiredness which could be due to low blood pressure. Spent a few weeks with my family which was so lovely. Now back to trying to work (thankfully from home still)

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 my friends wedding is next week so hopefully will go all to plan 😆

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/09/2021 10:09

@choccrumpet ahh you got a few weeks with them, that's lovely.

Wedding should be good fun! There were a lot of pregnant women at the one I went to, and we were all trying to eke out a glass or two of champagne and make it last all day/night with tiny sips. It def is a different experience when you're on elderflower sparkling water and everyone else is smashed by early evening

OP posts:
choccrumpet · 08/09/2021 13:17

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I don't know of anyone that is pregnant that will be there, there might be one or 2 others and sounds nice that you had that company! I haven't thought about it too much apart from my dress, im worried I'll get too tired and won't be able to last very long 🤣 im the taxi driver to our hotel so hoping I can manage! I'm sure it will be fine though

Marvellouslymadmum · 08/09/2021 22:24

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it's nice to be doing something! I had hoped for the lap first then clomid but at least something is better than nothing and she's not hanging around with it.

Ahh sounds like you're both getting on well, I do love a good wedding!

Slk3558 · 17/09/2021 11:11

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7
@choccrumpet

How are you both doing ? Have you had your 20 week scans yet? I’m 18+3 today, my sickness stopped at 16 weeks and I’m finally feeling normalish.

@Marvellouslymadmum glad to hear you are getting somewhere and hope the meds work x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 17/09/2021 12:41

@Slk3558 aah yay to feeling better! You must be so relieved to be able to eat and do things again!

All good here thanks had my 20 wk scan this week and all came back okay. So now feeling I can order some maternity bits to feel nicer, and pack away my too small clothes etc.
