Month 12, 6 DPO, fed up and loosing hope

Hi all,

I apologise in advance if this post is negative but I'm so so fed up with TTC. We have been trying for 12 months and haven't even had a hint of a line. My three best girlfriends (and soon to be bridesmaids) have all announced they are preggers this past month. Whilst I'm genuinely ecstatic for them I'm hurting so much as I don't believe it will ever happen for me.

I had to take a few days off work at the start of the week when the third told me they were preggers as I was just so overwhelmed and upset. A few days eating rubbish and watching Netflix made me feel a bit better but I have just lost hope that I will ever see a second pink line let alone have a baby.

I'm currently 6DPO and even though I know I won't be pregnant I'm still working myself up about it. I (stupidly) did a test today which was obv a BFN but it's like I can't help myself. It like a weird form of self torture!

I'd be so keen to talk to any hopeful mummas in a similar boat - let's keep everyone sain!

@HopefulGlow Morning :) I know, I was just saying the other day I miss the old me. It's sad how it becomes so consuming, I wish it didn't but I know it's totally normal to feel this way when you have wanted it for so long. But yeah, it hurts a lot doesn't it. And no one really understands unless they are going through it too! Which is why its so nice to chat on here x

Yeah all UK, a few of us up in Aberdeen. Where are you based?

I know, so lovely! And then she fell pregnant with her second naturally, quicker than she'd expected haha! Love my nephews to bits! My Mum very much had the attitude of "you may just need a little help" which sadly isn't the case, and my sister, god love her, kind of seems to have forgotten what it was like trying. Aw that's so good about your sister too :) being an Auntie is great isnt it! xx

HopefulGlow · 16/09/2021 11:43

@HJen22 I have been stalking these pages for months, feeling like I couldn’t post because there were people out there that have been TTC for longer than me 😅 but everyone seems so lovely and supportive I thought it would hep x

My mum & my best friend who doesn’t live near me is the only people who know. They are supportive although I made the mistake of asking how long it took my Mum to get my sister….she said not long at all haha which made me feel awful! But she was only on the pill for 6 months before and I have been on some form of contraception for 15 years 😩 suppose it can take a while.

I’m in the East Midlands! So a little way away from you guys.

Oh yes I love being an Auntie too, they are adorable and it’s great seeing them grow up. Makes my ovaries throb though haha

Is anyone taking any vitamins or using fertility lubricant? Any other tips and tricks I’m not aware of? Haha

I’m on the raspberry leaf tea, 7 seas trying to conceive vitamins and sometimes I remember to use Conceive Plus!

I know I need to do more to relax, probably get back in to yoga?

✨💕✨

HJen22 · 16/09/2021 14:41

@HopefulGlow aw don't be silly, it's not like that at all, we are all going through the same thing. It defintely helps me to talk to others in the same position, and I

I know we have our OHs but its hard for them to fully understand how we feel, I guess as it is for us to understand how they are feeling. So welcome :)

There are always people who got pregnant first try, or without trying isn't there, its like HOW?! Haha. I was also on the pills for years and years, the Acupunturist actually asked me about that and said about it taking a while to come out of your system - however i have no been off it 18 months!

I know how you feel, I want so badly to give my nephews a little cousin :(

Haha as you may have read I'm on a concoction of many many vitamins from the Nutritionist, along with a few I already took and now some Chinese medicine from the Acupuncturist! I used to take the seven seas tablets, and sure there was another one i tried as well! Oh i used a spray thing!

Yoga is a good idea, I go through phases of doing yoga and meditation but not really been feeling it lately. Podcasts are always good as well!

xxx

HopefulGlow · 16/09/2021 20:30

@HJen22 that’s true! He does listen to me and comfort me when I’m having my mini breakdowns haha

Oh wow! That is a concoction, do you feel any different taking them? Oooo acupuncture, I will have to take a look at that. I did read about reflexology too, I might try that haha I will do anything at this point.

Ahhhh the things we do 😅 ✨💕✨

HJen22 · 16/09/2021 21:27

@HopefulGlow haha same, I feel sorry for my poor OH with my constant meltdowns!

The only thing I've noticed is that I have way more regular bowel movements which may be due to eating gluten free and no dairy, or the concoction of vitamins! I've been tired and grumpy but probs the sugar detox as well!

Haha I've also tried reflexology, I went a couple of times but didn't love it, but I'm sure my sister enjoyed it! I like to just feel like I'm trying everything I can.

Currently sitting in the pub having soda and lime and thankfully they had gluten free burger buns, however the chips, tomato sauce and coleslaw aren't very "natural" 🙈😂 took plenty supplies for our weekend away but it's more difficult when out! Trying my best though!

Xxx

HopefulGlow · 16/09/2021 21:54

@HJen22 ooo being regular is always good! One of the things I keep an eye on too as it can be a pregnancy symptom (along with everything else! Haha)

I love that you’ve tried reflexology too! Do you prefer the acupuncture then?

You see I need to be a bit more natural, I’ve just had 3 digestive biscuits with a hot drink 😂 not very healthy 🤦🏼‍♀️ I do prefer being dairy free though, but dairy free cheese isn’t as good in some things!

I imagine gluten free is super tricky too. It’s a good job you have some stuff packed to take with you. Are you excited to go away? ✨💕✨

Lynne425 · 17/09/2021 05:56

Morning All

Can't believe this is actually happening this morning (please stick 🤞🏻)

After 14 months TCC, a miscarriage in February I finally have my vvf BFP 🌈💕

I'm trying not to get my hopes up just yet but just knowing this might be it makes it feel soo much better

(Also I've just realised this should have been my due date) xxx

MaybeBabyAli · 17/09/2021 07:04

I’ve been lurking on this thread for a while to follow all your journeys but just have to post to say a massive congrats @Lynne425 what fantastic news!!!! Your bfp made me really smile this morning. Got all my fingers crossed for you 🌈 What a wonderfully odd way the world works, I think this is meant to be (re previous due date).

Lynne425 · 17/09/2021 07:13

Thanks @MaybeBabyAli

I know it's still mega early (only 10dpo) but that hint of a line has given me hope!!

If the line gets darker over the next week I'll book a private scan for 6 weeks before I get excited (that's when I found out re the miscarriage last time) Xx

AZ1992X · 17/09/2021 08:09

Morning all!

How’s everyone doing? Sorry I’ve been a little quiet since I returned from my jolly’s - I’ve been a little under the weather (non Covid).

@HopefulGlow Welcome! ☺️ Hope you’re doing ok & I hope you feel a little better for finally reaching out? I know I found some comfort that there was others going through the same thing. I’m from the East Midlands too so not too far away.

@Lynne425 that’s great news & im keeping everything crossed everything will go well this time around ❤️❤️

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 08:12

@Lynne425 oh my goodness!!!! Yessss!!! This is amazing 💕💕💕💕

A huge congratulations to you 💕 I’m hoping and praying this one is a sticky bean 💕💕💕

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 08:16

@AZ1992X oooo you are close to me!! Hi neighbor!! 😁

I do feel better for coming on here actually, I was really worried about it for no reason. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s so nice to see everyone being so supportive and giving each other advise 💞

The last 2 periods I’ve been an emotional mess before them. Not because I was overthinking the TWW, but I actually felt like a dragon! I’ve been so moody and grumpy, silly me thought that was a good sign 😅💞

AZ1992X · 17/09/2021 08:23

@HopefulGlow I’m glad you feel better for coming on here, everyone has been so supportive to me and if you ever have any questions you can guarantee someone will know or have experienced it, I’ve learnt so much since joining here!

I always find it really hard around when AF is due so you’re not alone in that and defo normal to feel grumpy 😂

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 08:38

@AZ1992X thank you so much! 💞

I loved chatting with HJen yesterday too, it’s so interesting hearing what other people are doing to help their chances.

I’ve decided if I start my period next try, I’m going to the doctors and starting the help process!!

Have you been doing anything that has helped/made you feel better?

✨💕✨

HJen22 · 17/09/2021 08:41

@Lynne425 what wonderful news to wake up to ❤️❤️❤️ congratulations lovely I am so happy for you. And on your due date too 🥰 after going through your MC I really am
hoping for the best for you and this one!

@AZ1992X morning! Happy Friday ladies! Good thanks how are you?

The reflexology for some reason I didn't seem to fully relax, I don't think I'm very good at switching off! But I know some people really like it!

We came away last night; we're just an hour or so away from home so we drove up after work, today we're going for a walk around a Loch with the pup 🐶

What does everyone on this weekend? Xx

Amy259 · 17/09/2021 09:51

Morning ladies!

Just checking in because I’ll probably be a bit quiet for a little while as we’ve got a wedding today then are off on holiday tomorrow for 10 days. I’ll probably check in occasionally but just wanted to wish everyone good luck for scans, appointments, fertile weeks and ttws that I might miss!!

@HopefulGlow welcome, you’re in good company here ♥️ Dont worry about how long you’ve been trying or compare your struggles to anyone else’s - it’s all relative to what you’re going through and how you feel. It seems you’re sensitive to the knowledge that some have been trying longer and have gone through some tough stuff, and that’s all anyone can ask.

@Lynne425 bloody wonderful news ♥️♥️ Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Lots of love ladies! Xxx

HJen22 · 17/09/2021 09:58

@Amy259 have a fantastic time at the wedding and enjoy your holiday lovely! Hope you have the best break! And can't wait to hear all about it ❤️ xxx

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 10:18

@HJen22 oh gosh I don’t know if I could relax either, I struggle to switch my brain off. In yoga when we are meant to meditate and be mindful, I just think of food 😂

@Amy259 thank you! Everyone has been so lovely 🥰 I think it really shows people’s strength, seeing that some of you have been through some really hard things. I hope we can all help each other stay positive & hopeful. And I just know that when we get our BFP’s it will all be worth it.

This is my month 12 now, so I’m trying to keep positive and remind myself of those annoying statistics 😅

I hope you have a wonderful wedding and a fantastic holiday ☀️

✨💞✨

AZ1992X · 17/09/2021 12:53

@HopefulGlow no problem 😌, hopefully your gp will be good should you go down that route.

I take the seven seas vitamins - recently swapped from another brand, I’ve just tried to be a bit healthier - cut down on caffeine, no alcohol, more balanced diet and less treats - 😂 doesn’t sound much fun but hoping it’s all worth it.

It’s really hard but I’ve tried to not think about it as much - I felt less stressed about it all but I know it’s hard to not think about it!

@HJen22 good to hear! I’m not too bad thank you. That sounds lovely! - I don’t have too much planned yet maybe just a chilled one as I’m trying to get over this cold.

@Amy259 Hope you have a good day at the wedding & an amazing holiday!! Cannot wait to hear all about it - have fun ❤️

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 13:03

@AZ1992X fingers crossed they are. Although my OH has said it’s now 2 years before they refer you! 😳 sorry if I’ve missed it in this thread, but have you spoken to your GP yet?

I have another 2 packets of the seven seas left, which ones have you switched to? I’m basically the same with diet and alcohol. Should probably get some exercise in at some point too haha

You’re right, it’s so hard not to think about and I think the day of your period is the worst. Usually my mood picks up after that and I try to be positive again.

I finished my period yesterday, so back to looking at positive affirmations and attempting to plod on! ✨💕✨

AZ1992X · 17/09/2021 14:25

@HopefulGlow I’d defo get in touch as after a year they should refer you for at least tests etc… that’s what my gp said. Hopefully yours will be the same!

Unfortunately im not eligible now until next April even though it’s been over a year since ttc as I got a positive in April this year but had a miscarriage a few weeks after. It needs to be a full year with no positives. My GP has still been doing some bloods etc to reassure me in the meantime.

I just switched from pregnacare to the seven seas ones so on those ones now 😊, I’m CD8 now so not far ahead of you in the cycle.

Trying to remain positive like you too ✨

HopefulGlow · 17/09/2021 20:06

@AZ1992X fingers crossed my GP says that too! I suppose even speaking to them will give me a little peace of mind.

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry you went through that. It’s so frustrating that you need to wait again, the system is floored in that respect. Sending you a huge virtual hug.

I’ve had no issues with seven seas so far. I read lots of reviews where women had their cycles messed up from them. But so far so good.

Ahhhh yes you are only a few days ahead of me! My cycles feel like they go so quickly sometimes. They’re only 23/24 days 😩💞

User1400 · 17/09/2021 22:39

Hi girls, feel like I’ve missed a whole flurry of information😵.

Huge congratulations @Lynne425 what wonderful news ❤️❤️. Everything crossed for you 🤞🏻💕.

Welcome @HopefulGlow 😃. Sorry to hear you are going through this too, however you are certainly in good company! I recently joined the thread as well and have felt such comfort reaching out to these ladies. It’s like a weight off confirming you’re not alone!

I am just taking daily folic acid and vitamin D, no other tips and tricks from me I’m afraid! To be honest I try and stay away from Googling fertility boosters, it keeps me sane haha😅.

I’d deffo advise getting the ball rolling with things on the doctors side too. It sucks and hopefully you don’t end up needing it but it’s good to know there is a back up plan Smile.

@Amy259 have the best time at the wedding and hope you have some relaxing days off💕.

@HJen22 how is your weekend going?

@suzy124 @Loops01 how are you two doing? Xx

Loops01 · 18/09/2021 04:41

@User1400 Sorry I've not been that responsive on here its a lot to catch up on.

Got 2nd jab yesterday so not feeling the best if I'm honest. That and lots of work. Dh is away. Another pregnancy announcement and just generally feeling really crap about it all so trying to distract myself and not really look at fertility stuff as much just now. Cd11 now and might start opks if I get the chance. Days off but got things planned with family and friends before back to work. Scan next wk which couldn't come quick enough. I'm sure we won't fall pregnant naturally and just the thought of waiting another year and a half I guess before we could get ivf and pregnant is just making me sad. It's like time is a dead weight just now. I hope you're feeling a bit better about it all.

I'm only doing the same vits as well. I've tried taking loads of others and it clearly had no difference!

HJen22 · 18/09/2021 08:57

Morning girls 💕 I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Our time away has been nice, took the pup a long walk yesterday around a Loch, then we went to Braemar for a wander. Today we head home, on the way back we'll do another walk. My OH has football away tomorrow so will maybe go see my family or something!

@Loops01 oh I'm sorry you're feeling poorly after your second jab, I was the same and ended up in bed off work the following day. I hope you are feeling better today ❤️ and sorry there was another announcement, they just get harder don't they 😔 that's nice you've got some days off to spend with family, I am sure they will take your mind off things. I know how you feel, I got my letter through saying I'd get an appointment letter in January, so now until then feels like dead weight too. And I just cannot be miserable waiting for the next 4 months to pass.

@User1400 how are you and how's your weekend? What CD are you on?

@HopefulGlow I tend to have shorter cycles too, around 25-26 days normally. As the other girls say, I would call your GP. Up here it's definitely one year, 6 months if 35. Hopefully you don't need it; but tests and things take time so it's worth doing it sooner rather than later.

A pup pic to brighten up your Saturdays 🐶
