Ah @Littlemiss40andfabulous that is the most amazing news! I’m so pleased for you!

I currently dying with the worst vomiting bug I’ve ever had. Caught it off my 2 year old! I feel so poorly 😢

Catconfusion · 29/07/2021 19:26

@Littlemiss41andfabulous that’s amazing news. So glad you got a good result. I remember the relief clearly with ds when I got the combined test results. Just goes to show age doesn’t necessarily lead to high risk.

I think we might go for the nipt if we can find the money. Just keen to know all is well ASAP. Being that bit older at 42 the risks seem much higher so want as much information as we can get. I have to say I was really confident in the nhs combined test results at 40. I just feel like I need more reassurance this time around. Xx

99pctpractice · 29/07/2021 20:59

Aaah that’s great news @Littlemiss41andfabulous you must have been very pleased to get that reassurance.

@anirek I think my little boy had that last Thursday. It was sooooo bad but we were lucky not to catch it. V hope you’re feeling better soon!

@Catconfusion yes, pregnancy after loss is so hard. Sounds like this one feels a bit different and is pretty definitive on the tests so all fingers crossed for you!!

Catconfusion · 29/07/2021 21:45

@99pctpractice yes it’s definitely challenging. I feel a bit better now we’re past the point I lost the previous three. Now it’s anxiety about the first scan. I had a mmc with my first ever pregnancy and was being sick right up until the end so the nausea isn’t even reassuring. I just hope all is ok for us. I guess only time will tell! Xx

@anirek I’m so sorry to hear you’re unwell. I hope you feel better soon! Xx

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 30/07/2021 07:53

@sabtom not sure what they are but my results page stated my NT result as well as hCGb result and PAPPA-A result, as well as the fact I'll be 41 and 10 months old at my expected delivery date!

Geriatric1234 · 30/07/2021 09:07

YAYYYY @Littlemiss41andfabulous!! That’s great news and so exciting! I’d be the same as @sabtom and @Catconfusion I think and probably throw money at every possible test 🤣 Nothing makes you feel old like over 40 TTC-ing!

AF due for me tomorrow/Sunday (cd 27/28) and feeling very PMT-ish so I think I’m on to cycle 8. Decided to make this Nov my last TTC cycle so my game of egg roulette has about 4 more spins or I shall be embracing the joys of childfree living! Not sure which door I’m destined to walk through, and whether it’ll be full of nappies or dogs, but very excited either way ❤️🤞🏼❤️ 🤣

Happy Friday folks! Hope you feel better for the weekend @anirek!!

Xx

Would you mind if I join your group? I am 42 and TTC #2 since September 2019. I have had 6 miscarriages, five in 18 months and the last in between an ivf cycle. Ive tried ivf once, with genetic testing and had 3 euploid embryos make it to day5/6 but ALL failed to even implant. I tried steroids and blood thinners to no avail and now without anymore funds we have to try naturally but after so many losses and failures, the moest recent ivf failure today, I am so disheartened and was hoping to see some hope here….

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 31/07/2021 07:21

@Unicorn9 welcome to this lovely supportive group. Glad to have you join us. It sounds like you've already been on a rollercoaster TTC journey and I'm sorry you've had to go through this. XxX

Hello everyone could I join too please? I will be 42 in a few weeks. Have a 2 year old born May 2019 and been TTC #2 since June 2020. Got a BFP in March 21 but had a natural miscarriage at 8 weeks (scan showed baby stopped growing at 6 weeks). I'm trying to stay positive that it will happen for us but feel a constant sadness that time is running out. It's helpful to hear from others in a similar position.

birdbybird · 31/07/2021 20:36

Hi @Unicorn9
And hi again @Jem1979 . I share your frustration…. Been in a pensive mood all day.

I’ve got some watery CM although not had a positive opk yet. CD11.

Also have gone and ordered the ovusense core, last night. Expecting it to arrive hopefully next week but probably too late for this cycle.

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/07/2021 22:12

@Littlemiss41andfabulous that's really good! So they don't do the other test now?

@Unicorn9 hi and welcome, so sorry for your losses, has anyone looked into why you manage to get pregnant but they don't stick?

Hi @Jem1979 sorry for your loss, it's hard when things don't work but there's still hope. Have you had any tests or anything done yet?

Unicorn9 · 31/07/2021 22:38

@Marvellouslymadmum I’ve tried everything. I’ve been tested at st marys recurrent miscarriage clinic in london and nothing was found except a small clotting issue which can be resolved by aspirin at 8 weeks on.

I’ve had two biopsies done at Coventry who said I had high nkc one cycle but normal the next albeit i was actually pregnant that cycle but lost it due to chromosomal abnormality. I’ve had an ERA test and microbiome test. The latter picked up vaginal bacteria was out so got treated with antibiotics and probiotics.

I’ve had an aquscan/saline scan. Nothing.

I had a 10mm lining for ivf and everything was fine. Got 11 eggs retrieved with only 7 being fertilised. 3 made it to day 5/6 and all came back normal genetically.

Two miscarriages tested one was normal female and the other abnormal female.

Not sure these is anything else to test… I can’t afford Shehata or Gorgy anymore after all the ivf and the tests they want run and am reluctant when the general answer is steroids and progesterone which I have anyways…

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 01/08/2021 06:34

@Marvellouslymadmum I don't think so as I've not come back high risk, so it doesn't need confirming either way for definate. 1/1700 chance of Downs Syndrome and 1/10000 of Edwards and Patau Syndrome. Next midwife appt at 16 weeks (14 weeks now) so think she'll go through results again there but if I needed more blood tests someone would have rung me by now I think.

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 06:45

@Littlemiss41andfabulous those are similar to the results I had with ds and he was fine. I think there’s some doubts over the accuracy of the nhs tests, however if the neck measurement was normal and the bloods show very low risk you should be fine. I’m really happy for you. Xx

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 06:46

@Unicorn9 I’m so sorry you’ve had such a tough journey. Hopefully you’ll get lucky naturally now. I’ve got everything crossed for you. Xx

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 06:50

@birdbybird I used Ovusense for a year before I conceived ds and I loved it. At first it was to monitor my cycles before we started ttc as they are long and irregular. I didn’t think I ovulated but sure enough, it picked it up every cycle albeit irregularly. It definitely took some of the stress out of temping. I couldn’t afford it this time around but thoroughly recommend it. The only thing I would say is it doesn’t always quite get the right day for ovulation. As it gives such an accurate measure of temperature, you’ll see when it happened. Good luck with it! Xx

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 06:52

So ladies, I’m 5 weeks. I can’t believe it. I’ve had so much drama with my tooth coming out and yesterday my elderly dog got taken sick and might not make it. All at a time when I’m trying to look after myself and minimise stress. Anyway, I can only assume all is well. Feeling really sick and lots of other symptoms. I’ve got an NHS reassurance scan next week at 6 plus 2 so just getting through each day until then really. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 01/08/2021 11:38

@Unicorn9 it's so hard isn't it when you have no answers 😞 have you thought about trying the aspirin for the whole month? I've heard a few people have tried and it's worked

@Littlemiss41andfabulous that's really good! Being told you're not high risk must be a huge relief!

@Catconfusion so sorry about your doggy, it's so hard when a pet gets sick. Great news about the pregnancy so far though, exciting you have a scan next week

Jem1979 · 01/08/2021 11:59

@Marvellouslymadmum no tests yet, contacted my GP to get the ball rolling then got a BFP. If no luck in next couple of months then will contact them again. Tho my husband wouldn't be keen for IVF, so it's natural or nothing for us. I'm still bfeeding so thought that might be a factor.. but did fall pregnant in March so I know it is possible. Obvs my age is a big red flag! Though I know lots of people on their 40's who have successfully conceived and had healthy babies. And great to hear of ladies on this thread with BFP's! Sending lots of luck to you all x

birdbybird · 01/08/2021 13:42

Congratulations @Catconfusion on getting to 5 weeks. Once you got the hang of it, how many cycles on ovusense did it take before you conceived. I have a rough idea but I can’t temp these days with a toddler.

@Jem1979 I’m still breastfeeding a 19 month old. Have conceived twice but then lost. I thought he was weaning but the frequency seems to have increased. Confused

birdbybird · 01/08/2021 13:42

@Catconfusion I meant to say I have a rough idea of when I ovulate.

Unicorn9 · 01/08/2021 13:53

@Marvellouslymadmum Thank you re aspirin. I have tried it before and it didn’t work and I have been advised by prof Reagan to start 150mg when I get a bfp but not before as there is some evidence that it can affect implantation…. I think it may do the same as clexane though? But I don’t know anymore. I’ve gone to reflexology as well and acupuncture. I’ve heard of LLLT (low level laser therapy) that has had promising results but it’s £1200 in london for 12 goes and we can’t do that. It’s just a minefield of what else can we do and it seems never ending.

Did aspirin ever work for you or anyone else have success on this thread Plse?

@Catconfusion congratulations. I hope it all goes good for you so we can get some hope too. X

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 16:22

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum he’s a lot better today so fingers crossed. He’s very elderly so it is a matter of time but he’s doing well. It just threw me yesterday and was quite upsetting. We’re so relieved he’s ok for now. Xx

Catconfusion · 01/08/2021 16:32

@birdbybird so I started in the august before I got married and took out a year subscription. We’d planned to ttc in the January. I did take it on my honeymoon in the November but was really inconsistent in using it. Found out I was pregnant on our return. Hadn’t even got a confirmation of O because of missing data but could see roughly when it was. I still was shocked it had happened the first time we’d not used contraception. Sadly it ended up being a mmc. I had to have a d&c but used Ovusense as soon as I got a negative hpt. Got pregnant again straight after. This was a chemical. I was so traumatised by the losses I just used it to monitor and we didn’t really try. The first cycle we tried again was the July and the last month of my subscription. That’s when I conceived ds.

As my cycles are irregular it wasn’t great at predicting O but it helped to get a confirmation it had happened. If you know when O comes it might be better at giving you a heads up. So I wouldn’t say I conceived because I was using Ovusense, more it helped with monitoring my cycle and reassuring me we’d tried at the right time. I really hope it works for you. Any questions, let me know. Xx
