Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@GlassLily thank you so much :) cramps are gone now. I'm hoping once I get to 12 weeks I will relax a bit more!

mumof23188 · 08/11/2021 14:00

@LS2020 glad to hear you are doing good. Brilliant that you are starting to feel better ☺️. Ahh lovely to have a little popping going on 😍. We are all ok thank you. Baby is 10 weeks now! Can’t believe it! Absolute mayhem having a toddler and a baby 🤣.

mumof23188 · 08/11/2021 14:01

CD 25 today after first AF after baby. Going to try tracking my cycle using Fitbit and another app. This is my graph so far! No idea where I’m at 🤣

RHR has dropped, test still positive but I'm so anxious :( with my last pregnancy the same thing happened and ended up in a loss.

@gezelligheid that's scary, hope you are doing ok. Mine dropped 2bpm in 1 day at 17DPO. It went back up the next day, and every time it went up 2 it would go down 1, so was an emotional rollercoaster. Hopefully yours is just a normal fluctuation like that and it'll be ok🤞🏻 your tests sound promising, so don't lost hope just yet! Come on little blastocyst, hold on tight 🤞🏻🤞🏻

gezelligheid · 09/11/2021 08:50

I've looked online and even looked back at @Kona84 charts to give me hope lol. No cramps, no bleeding, tests still strong. Taking the fitbit off cos it's driving me crazy Sad

gezelligheid · 10/11/2021 07:10

Fitbit removed, I'm having repeat bloods today and Friday, and I just did another test and it's a dye stealer. Gonna try to relax now. Removing the fitbit was the best thing I could have done I think!

LS2020 · 10/11/2021 14:36

@gezelligheid yes off with the Fitbit and give yourself a break! Hope you’re resting up A important to get loads of sleep in early stages 😊

gezelligheid · 11/11/2021 20:28

I had my bloods done today and they're the right levels for gestation so that's good, just gotta have repeats done on Saturday! :)

Also I'm going for a transvaginal scan tomorrow as instructed by the doctor and I will be 5+3. What should I expect to see, if anything? The scan is just to make sure implantation happened in the uterus rather than in the fallopian tube like last time.

gezelligheid · 11/11/2021 20:29

The nausea hit hard today too. Felt like I was on a boat in choppy waters this morning in bed. Enjoying every second of it though Smile

GlassLily · 12/11/2021 22:32

@gezelligheid oh that's wonderful news! So glad everything is as it should be. I had my first scan at 6+5 so I can't say much about 5+3. I did lots of googling many months ago, and from memory I think at 5+3 it's important that you should not expect them to detect a heartbeat. I think it does happen for some people, but I think from around 6 weeks is when they're likely to be able to detect it. So do not panic if the heartbeat is not detected, it doesn't mean there's a problem. As you say they are just checking the foetal pole is in your uterus and nowhere else.

Otherwise, at 6+5 I could see a fairly clear picture of a small black emptiness (the middle of my uterus) with a little blob attached to one wall of the uterus, which is the foetal pole. Other than the shape and position, it wouldn't have been distinguishable from the wall of the uterus. The picture was my absolute most treasured possession and I think she looks like a teeny tiny little baby on the scan pic, but I think to other people it just looks like a blob... I had to circle the bit that was the baby when I showed my ffamily! Let us know how you got on Smile

gezelligheid · 12/11/2021 22:38

@GlassLily it was just a small black circle nothing exciting to report but it was in the right place so it's all good so far! Got more bloods tomorrow so hopefully they'll have doubled Grin I have 2 weeks off now too so plenty of relaxing. Feeling positive now instead of worrying constantly, the reassurance has been wonderful.

GlassLily · 12/11/2021 23:45

@gezelligheid wow that's great! So happy for you. Relax as much as you can! Hope your nausea doesn't get any worse.

gezelligheid · 13/11/2021 17:34

Just got the blood results for my repeat tests, they've more than doubled so they're happy with that Grin they want us to come back on Monday for another scan, they said because my hcg has risen they should be able to see something by then Grin

Juno231 · 13/11/2021 18:03

@gezelligheid fantastic news! I'm so pleased for you 😁 keep us posted on Monday!

@gezelligheid oh wow that's great, so exciting to see the baby again so soon! So pleased for you and your little blob ❤️

GlassLily · 13/11/2021 21:59

Has anyone got an idea of the highest their rhr has got above normal AF rate when pregnant? Mine has skyrocketed in the last few days and is now about 26bpm higher than AF rate, I'm 28 weeks and I'm a bit worried my heart might explode?!

gezelligheid · 16/11/2021 18:59

I have to go back for another scan on November 25th but the scan today shows that baby is growing in the right place! Such a relief after my ectopic last year! The sonographer said although I'm 6 weeks from LMP, I'm looking more like just on/approaching 5 weeks Smile

@gezelligheid Lovely, congratulations! You must be so relieved. And great to get another one next week! So many scans Grin

How are we all getting on, any interesting RHR charts? I've been looking at HRV and breathing rate on Fitbit and wondering if that is affected too...

mrsS21 · 19/11/2021 20:10

Good evening ladies, I’ve followed this thread for quite some time and wondered if anyone had any reassurance… we followed smep this month and I’ve been so excited feeling like it could really be our month. My question is, for anyone who’s had bfp’s, did RHR always stay elevated after O, or did it dip and pick back up?
Feeling like my RHR is pretty much at lowest rate, but trying to hold out hope we could still be in with a chance! The purple arrow is my O day, between 8/9th November. Any thoughts?

GlassLily · 20/11/2021 22:36

@mrsS21 For my BFPs, the only time it has dropped back below ovulation level is when it's been a CP, sorry to not have a more hopeful story! Rhr isn't the be all and end all, so a big drop doesn't necessarily mean you won't get a BFP and healthy pregnancy, there are plenty of other factors at play. But still, I wouldn't take too much hope from a chart with a big drop like that. Any other possible bfp symptoms?

mrsS21 · 21/11/2021 04:10

Thank you @GlassLily, really appreciate you coming back to me. I’ve had a spike back up by 3 or 4 bpm since about 24hrs ago…so I guess I’ll just have to be patient! Had a positive on frer Friday night, so keeping everything crossed!

mrsS21 · 21/11/2021 16:41

Just a little update :) thought I’d share, as I really thought this wasn’t my cycle. I hadn’t really had symptoms, and my RHR was dropping back off up to Friday evening. But had a faint positive Friday night, started with pinching feeling overnight, then feeling nauseous today. Lovely strong positive this afternoon 🥰

@mrsS21 Ah brilliant!! Congratulations on your bfp! And great that rhr is bouncing back too Smile maybe just a big implantation dip, or maybe dropped due to some other factor. Lovely line, how many dpo are you now?

mrsS21 · 21/11/2021 20:20

Thanks ever so much 🥰 I’m feeling over the moon today! I’m 12dpo, period was due tomorrow.
So reassuring that it’s springing back to ovulation levels :) happy Sunday!
