Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@mumof23188 hope you’re all on the mend now at least?

It’s actually today! We had a private one booked in pre our holiday to Greece tomorrow. Measuring 10+1 with lovely heartbeat and we got to see them wiggling around which was amazing 🥰

GlassLily · 16/10/2021 09:17

@LS2020 how was your scan lovely?

GlassLily · 16/10/2021 09:18

Oh hang on was it the 10+1 you just had or have you had your 12w one now?

LS2020 · 18/10/2021 06:26

@GlassLily all went well thank you! Even got to see the umbilical cord - amazing what they can see! That was just a private 10 week one yes and then have my 12 week one a week on Friday and then be on the normal NHS schedule 😌 (although they put me as high risk due to IVF so will add a few extra appointments I think). How are you doing?

GlassLily · 18/10/2021 13:23

@LS2020 Oh brilliant! Yes it's a great time for a scan isn't it, I had a scan at 9+1 and it was so lovely to see the baby wriggling for the first time. You must be getting excited for Friday! Hope you aren't too nervous.

I'm doing great thanks, 24 weeks so not far off the third trimester! It's all just flying past. She kicks me a lot, so it's great to get that as a sign that everything's ok. I'm starting to think about birth etc already!

LS2020 · 19/10/2021 06:19

@GlassLily yes they got me to walk around as they were all curled up so couldn’t measure right and when I sat back down they were not happy with me 😂
I’m in Greece until the Thursday on holiday so hoping that keeps me relaxed 😬 although OH came out with a cold and has passed it on to me and being poorly in a hot country is the worst!!

Oh my gosh I can’t believe how far along you are! When did you start feeling her wiggling? I’ll be half way at Xmas and hoping I might feel something by then 🤞🏻

LarasMama · 20/10/2021 07:44

Hi llovely adies, I'm back! How is everyone?
If anyone remembers me...I held off ttc for a year (not trying not preventing) and I think I'm ready now. 🥰🙏🏻
1 dpo today only drd when I started heaving ovulation pains. How are the chances? I think they're quite slim. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Juno231 · 20/10/2021 10:20

@LarasMama all I'd say is not to trust ovulation pains! I get them but my docs say it could just be follicles rubbing, and true enough whenever I've had scans it turns out I've ovulated from the opposite side I thought I had!

OP posts:
LarasMama · 20/10/2021 19:33

@Juno231 I'm always spot on with the side. OPKs also turn negative shortly after. But with dd I didn't have ov pains. I thought I hadn't ovulated at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️
We also dtd 7 days prior to ov. Any point in dtd tonight if i ovulated last night/this morning? I always wonder how long after ov the egg can be fertilized

GlassLily · 21/10/2021 13:11

@larasmama I think it's about 24h? But think it's a long shot if you've already released the egg, as the sperm takes since time to travel I think.... However, you might not have ovulated yet, so get down to business just in case 🤣

@ls2020 sorry you're poorly. Hope it didn't cause any problems with travel.
I felt her wriggling around 17-18 weeks, just little tiny movements at first. By 20weeks they started to get a bit stronger. Now it's like having an acrobat in there!
Let us know how your scan goes!

LarasMama · 22/10/2021 15:30

@GlassLily Well let's see. Didn't end up dtd again. 🙈 But it looks like I'm in the luteal phase now. My RHR is high and stable. I assume I'm 3dpo.

How long did it take you to get your bfp? Congrats! 🥰

GlassLily · 22/10/2021 23:52

@LarasMama about 14 months. It felt like an absolute lifetime, but I know there are many people on here who have been trying much, much longer! 💔

By the end we started having CPs which meant that our only real option left was IVF - but the doctor wasn't convinced it would work since they weren't sure what was going wrong with the CPs. Thankfully a few weeks after the dr said that, we found out we had this little one on the way ❤️

mumof23188 · 26/10/2021 07:55

@LS2020 hope you the holiday was good? Where abouts did you go? I adore Greece! It’s our favourite 😍.

@LarasMama hello! Welcome back. Hope you are well? RHR is looking good 🤞

gezelligheid · 26/10/2021 13:29

Those of you who got a bfp, how soon after ovulation did your rhr rise? Did it keep rising from ovulation or did it drop a few days and then rise?

EveryMumDay · 26/10/2021 22:53

@gezelligheid when I got my recent bfp before I miss miscarriage at 5 weeks, my rhr kept increasing after getting a peak on clearblue ovulation fertility monitor. 8th day after ovulation peak my rhr jumped by 4bpm, then I tested 14 days after ovulation peak as it remained high. Hope this helps somehow :)

GlassLily · 28/10/2021 09:08

@gezelligheid here's my BFP chart, the line is ovulation - so it already looked promising from 4DPO when it reached 68bpm (higher than it's been before, even 1bpm higher than it got for any of my CPs). At the time, I thought it mustn't mean anything because it was too early. Who knows, maybe it didn't mean anything - I came down with a bit of a cold that week so maybe that made it higher?

But it didn't go down... Then at 8DPO my cold was a lot better and yet it went up to 69bpm... and that's when I thought, this might really be it! I made myself wait until 10DPO and I got a super faint BFP, then it all went in the right direction from there 🙂

Currently sitting at 76bpm and 25 weeks🤰

LS2020 · 29/10/2021 18:19

12 week scan today went well - measuring two days behind so new EDD but otherwise all looked really well. Amazing what they can see!

@GlassLily was fine on the way out even tho was being sick pretty much every day. Nauseas ebbed off and then was so nauseous on the plane was sick straight away when I got home.. bizarre! Hopefully will start feeling them for December then 🤞🏻 25 weeks is amazing! How are you feeling?

@mumof23188 we went to Kos, it was beautiful!

@gezelligheid bit different as IVF but it went up basically from what was about 4DPO, had a dip about 7-8dpo when implantation happened and then continued to rise from there.

@LS2020 aw that's a proper baby now!! I'm so glad it's all looking good for you

@LS2020 wow look at your little baby ❤️. Beautiful! So happy to see your scan picture ☺️. When is your due date? We are hoping to go away next year so may look at Kos!

LS2020 · 30/10/2021 07:06

@Juno231 thanks! Yeah my OH was surprised to find out that they’re there, all they do is mature and grow now. They were 5.8cm too which is a weirdly tangible size and that blew my mind!

@mumof23188 11th May so feels like ages but it is only actually 6 months away 🙈 it was so lovely, the weather was insane for end of October too - still about 23/24 most days. Not sure how much there is to do with kids - my parents were in Crete at same time and they seemed to have more to go out and do but weather didn’t seem as good

Kona84 · 01/11/2021 22:04

Lovely scan photo.

I thought I would come to update,
I had my baby on the 17th October (the due date) we had a baby girl and have named her Edith. She weighed 6lbs 4oz
She is perfect in my opinion, the last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind and I haven’t had much sleep but I wouldn’t change anything.
My RHR is lower than before pregnancy. It started falling a day or 2 after birth.

@Kona84 many many congratulations to you, your partner and family. She's adorable and such a lovely name too. Hope you all are keeping well 🥰
