After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

Also... just had my 1st jab 😬😁😬😁 hope it doesn't mess up my cycle too much!

Juno231 · 04/06/2021 11:04

@kay00 woop! which one did you get?

Flowers222 · 04/06/2021 11:50

@ChinChilly that's wonderful news about the scan! I'm so pleased for you 😊 I have my early scan booked for tomorrow and feeling quite nervous about it.

Lovebug06 · 04/06/2021 11:59

@Kay00 I had my first jab at 11dpo last cycle. I was worried it would mess up my cycle but it came on time and the same as always.
@Tillybabs I get spots a lot. However they definately calmed down after my first year off the pill.

My opks didn't make much sense this month they have thrown me. Also don't think we dtd enough. Usually on it. Dh did fall asleep one night and usually Id get so annoyed but I just didn't. I've done everything I can for so long and it has made no difference... People also get pregnant from having sex once(lucky buggers) . Maybe there's a chance. I don't know. I've been fine, but kind of defeated by the whole thing. I feel kind of anxious about it now, but at the same time it's done, no stress, and we dtd in the fertile window enough I think. I'm kind of telling myself it's never happened when I've done it loads anyway!
So nothing new here.

SkeletonSkins · 04/06/2021 12:04

@Kay00 yep that’s exactly what happens to me! I’ve got those supplements arriving today after seeing you mention them so fingers crossed they help. I already take myo-inositol but going to swap to this version of it.

Congrats on your first jab too! I’ve had both mine now through work so I’m not sure if that’s got a part to play in my cycles or they would have just been mad anyway 😂

LV1987 · 04/06/2021 12:31

Hi everyone

It's been a really, really long time since I posted, so I don't think anyone will remember me!

I'm 34, trying for my first, my OH has two boys from his first marriage. I've been off the pill since the end of 2019 and I still haven't regulated...I have a lot of markers for PCOS but am currently wading through the "it's because your fat" BS before getting a proper diagnosis.

My last hospital appointment ended with the Dr saying, "Well, your 34 now so we don't have a lot of time.". Which as you can imagine, has filled me with positivity and hope for my next appointment at the end of this month.

We've been trying for a long time now and I just feel generally disheartened by the whole thing, to the extent that I'm not even sure I can be bothered with the follow up appointments, knowing that I'm not being taken seriously 😒

Anyhoo! If anyone has managed to successfully regulate their cycles even just a little bit post-pill, I would be grateful for your suggestions - I've tried myoinositol, seed cycling, weight loss, patience, yoga, giving up alcohol, exercising more frequently, more patience and just about everything else but I am still open to suggestions!

@Juno231 I'm sorry to see that you are still trying lovely, I know it's been a long time for you too x

AllyCat31 · 04/06/2021 13:09

@Kay00 I got mine on Sunday, now 5 days late for LH surge. Hoping that doesn’t happen to you too!

Juno231 · 04/06/2021 13:11

@LV1987 of course we remember you - I'm sorry you're still here! And I'm sorry for the poor treatment by your docs so far - the fat excuse is ridiculous and so so lazy of them. What's the next appointment for? Keep on advocating for yourself, 34 is far from the end of the line xxx

I think @Kay00 's cycles really improved after taking the conceive plus ovulation tablets btw.

LV1987 · 04/06/2021 13:41

Thank you @Juno231, you don't know how much I needed to hear that today ❤️

Juno231 · 04/06/2021 14:07

@lv1987 I think cause I work in the City (of London) sooo many of my colleagues only started having kids age 38 or whatever (and still went on to have 2-3 kids) so if you said that here they'd say we're still babies with plenty of time. And remember that once you're diagnosed with eg PCOS they can tackle TTC so much more effectively (quickly!) with clomid et al. The crux is making sure they don't bat you away, stick to them like a fly to shit as my mum would say lol. We'll get there!

Kay00 · 04/06/2021 15:07

@LV1987 Yes, you have been remembered here too :) I'm 35, nearly 36 and very much hoping I'm not at the end of the line too Grin. I know lots of ladies who have conceived more than one child in the late 30's early 40's Smile.

I too suspect I could have some sort of PCOS (maybe borderline?) as I have high AMH levels and rubbish cycles (long in length and occasionally no ovulation at all), but I don't have any of the other symptoms. As Juno mentioned I have started taking Conceive Plus Ovulation Support and Fertility Support and my last cycle I ovulated on CD18, and on this one CD15!!

@Juno231 I had the pfizer Smile

WhirlingD · 04/06/2021 15:26

Hello again @LV1987. Hang in there. Doctors can be rubbish. I’ll be 39 in a few months and I still haven’t given up yet! I’ve tried everything you’ve done (plus acupuncture) but cycle is fairly AWOL. I’m so depressed with the whole thing that I may as well add back the alcohol! Waiting this long has meant I built a good career and got out of a crap marriage so I try not to beat myself up with the “should have started sooner” stick.

@Kay00 I haven’t managed to ovulate since my vaccine, but my cycles are all over the place, so I don’t think I can blame the vaccine!

@Juno231mh FSH and LH were both around 13 a month or so ago. Not good. I’ve read that FSH can be artificially elevated after the pill so if that has decreased now, my ratio could well be off. I don’t have any other signs of PCOS other than a seriously infrequent period! By some small miracle, I called the docs today and got an appointment (telephone) for Monday so I’ll see what they say.

Lovebug06 · 04/06/2021 15:51

@LV1987 sorry Im not sure if I knew you but I've also been trying a long time (start of 2020) and I am at the stage where I feel I can't be bothered at times, it all feels so disheartening!
Your doctor has been so out of order. 34 isn't too old at all! I know lots of women who had their babies late 30s and some early 40s. Please don't listen, makes me sad how some doctors can be so dismissive and rude and make people feel even worse!
I also have a DH who already has dc so I understand that too. I think it can make them find it harder to understand at times. sending you lots of love xx

Juno231 · 04/06/2021 16:27

@Lovebug06 remind me when your next appointment is? I feel like your follow ups are dragging, or is that just me being impatient Grin

Cams50 · 04/06/2021 16:59

@LG93 congrats!!

@ChinChilly lovely news about your scan.

@Kay00 great news about your earlier ovulation! I started conceive plus fertility support and ovulation support this month and I had a slightly longer lp etc so I’m happy with them so far! Could be coincidence of course. I got the Pfizer vaccine today too.

@LV1987 I’m sorry it’s so frustrating! I agree with what all the others have said. I’m in month 14 now so I can sympathise. The GP said they referred us on 19th May but I haven’t heard anything about an appointment yet.

Kay00 · 04/06/2021 20:20

@cams50 🤜🤛 re the Pfizer vaccine 😆

I have also noticed that I'm getting HUGE amounts of EWCM since I started the conceive plus supplements, way more than when taking EPO!

SkeletonSkins · 04/06/2021 23:42

@LV1987 cannot believe that comment - to me 34 is quite young! I have PCOS and it’s a PITA but I did read a book called Getting Pregnant with PCOS which was helpful in helping my understand where my body was going wrong. My diet is crap atm though so I need to get back on board with it all.

Took my first dose of the concieve plus fertility and ovulation supplements today! Exciting.

Sorry if this is strange to ask but am I right in thinking normal lube is no good when TTC? We do tend to use lube so wondering if I should swap to one of the proper TTC ones or does it work out really expensive to do that?

SkeletonSkins · 04/06/2021 23:42

@Kay00 yay for EWCM! That’s one thing my body does seem to manage to be fair but at all sorts of random times unfortunately 😂

Moocher90 · 05/06/2021 06:44

@Kay00 the ovulation support tabs do you have to take 4 a day?

Kay00 · 05/06/2021 08:10

@moocher90 yes, the ovulation support you are supposed to take 4 in a day, spaced out. I usually forget one lol and should probably set an alarm to the them more constantly 😅

@skeletonskins normal lube kills sperms so you'll need to stop using it if you are TTC. I use pressed which you can use with an applicator to get right up close to your cervix, or a little on the outside (a little goes a long way) to help with chafing 😆

Flowers222 · 05/06/2021 16:03

Hi ladies! I hope everyone is well and having a good weekend with the lovely weather. Just thought I would drop in to give an update, I had a early scan today and everything was great, healthy heartbeat and where it should be, and it was measuring at 8w2d which is 3 days ahead of what I was expecting. I feel like I can relax a little now (at least for a few days lol)

Lovebug06 · 05/06/2021 16:29

@Juno231 15th June. It was originally yesterday the 4th but he cancelled it as it was around the end of the fertile window. I told him not to as I'd have preferred to get that going tbh. And I think I ovulated earlier as well so could have gone. Oh well 10 days should come around fairly quickly I hope! But it really is dragging. I'm so behind compared to everyone else. How are you?
@SkeletonSkins don't use normal lube! I use pre seed and I think there's another similar called conceive plus which is sperm friendly.
@Flowers222 that's great news. I bet the scan makes you feel at ease and more relaxed about it all. Very happy for you ❤️

Anyone else use pre seed and feel so disappointed?! I know it's a bit ridiculous but I read SO many amazing reviews about it and people conceiving the first time they used it after a long time of TTC. I was well excited and nothing 😂 seems silly as I knew it was unlikely but I couldn't help it after such good reviews and here I am no further forward after a few months of using it. Typical Smile

mrsmacmc · 05/06/2021 19:26

Sorry ladies been off the radar. Waiting on the results of my 'day 21' blood test and DH has his appt booked for next week to raise the 💦 sample test. However I have found out tonight DH had mumps as a child and freaking a bit about it 😩 he has done a home sample kit previously that showed he had swimmers but how does mumps affect a man? Trying really hard not to disappear into the google vortex 😥

SkeletonSkins · 05/06/2021 19:33

Thanks for the advice re lube, I’ll order some preseed. FF seems to think I might ovulate tomorrow as I’ve ovulated around this time in both my previous (also really long cycles) but I’m not convinced. Had some EWCM today though so maybe. Just want to ovulate and crack on with the next cycle as this is the last month we can’t TTC due to work commitments. If I take too long this time, I’m worried I might miss our first official month trying by ovulating in my week away from DH 😭 Fingers crossed my body plays ball.

@mrsmacmc Great you’ve got an appointment booked, not so great about the mumps. I’d avoid google as it will no doubt be the worst case scenario, and if the home sample kit came back okay then that’s such a good sign. Fingers crossed for you.

SkeletonSkins · 05/06/2021 19:34

@Lovebug06 I feel like that about myo-inositol. Read so many things online abojt how it was basically the miracle supplement for PCOS and so many people saying they got normal length regular cycles. Here I am with my 50 day cycles like er, where’s my results 😂
