That message withdrawn was me posting on the wrong thread before my call with the lister btw, sorry, got confused!

Virtually met with Alison Taylor at the Lister and she was great. Wasn’t pushy about ivf, is going to wait for my husband’s test results with Mr Ramsay and then meet us again to discuss options. Either a) ovulation induction with letrozole plus trigger shot and scans for a couple of months before ivf or b) straight to short protocol ivf/icsi if his dna frag is poor.

She was very pro natural conception and wants me to have a hycosy so we have the best chance, also going to write a letter so we can challenge our “unexplained” classification with the NHS because she thinks we should get our tests and treatment entitlement. Really impressed with her, a very nice doctor that filled me with confidence tbh.

Gave me the stats for ivf success with my age and high amh, was very positive, and raised the issue of OHSS and getting the balance right. Honestly a relief after all the horrible doctor encounters I’ve had the last year.
@Crazydoglady123 you'll be fine, it's so exciting you can start looking at twin things now!!

@notyetamumbuttrying horrible that they're not updating you, do you think they would if you called?
I phoned the surgery yesterday and they said my scan results are in but can't give me them as they're not qualified so I have to wait to speak to the doc on Monday! I asked about his sa results but she wouldn't even tell me if they were in!! Said we can ask the doc on Monday and she will talk to us both 🤷🏼‍♀️
Annoying but better than my GP receptionist who gave two lots of incorrect results out 🥴

thislittlebird · 02/06/2021 13:35

Congratulations @Crazydoglady123! That’s very exciting, how amazing. I won’t lie I would like twins in a way, so I could draw a line under it all and move on with a little family and not worry so much about wanting more. Although I’d probably not survive twins lol

Aimzie · 02/06/2021 17:49

@notyetamumbuttrying oh my god that's amazing. Fingers crossed for your little embabies ❤️❤️
So sorry I've been so quiet been so busy with work and had 2 weeks up home after a year of not seeing anyone 😊 such lovely news to come back too @Crazydoglady123 that's so amazing, congrats I am so so happy for you ❤️❤️
I was a bit sad after our results and having to wait now for my NHS referral. But in another sense I was glad to hear about OHs sperm count being 0, its just taken alot of pressure of me if that makes sense I haven't been tracking, or spending a bomb on tests as I know the chances are very low naturally 😕 so duno how to feel about ttc now, I think we're just going to wait until we get to our new clinic and focus on the wedding and house for this year 😕 makes me so sad but what else can we do but wait 😢

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/06/2021 18:11

@Aimzie thank you 😊 aww glad you've been able to see all the family, how lovely! I think that sounds like a very sensible plan hun ☺️

crazycatlady1981 · 02/06/2021 19:54

@RobinRose so sorry to hear that, take care of yourself and hopefully see you back here sometime in the future x

@notyetamumbuttrying I can’t believe you don’t get updated until transfer! 😱 That’s totally nerve wracking!! But I guess understandable if that’s how they usually work! Fingers crossed for those little embryos!

@Aimzie good to hear you’ve been able to see your family! Sorry to hear about your wait for referral, but it sounds like you got some positive things to focus on in the meantime and hopefully your referral won’t take as long as they say!🤞🏻When are you getting married?

@thislittlebird that sounds really positive! It’s so nice to have consultations where it feels like they actually care!

@Marvellouslymadmum that’s so frustrating!! Did you manage to get anything out of them by email?

thislittlebird · 02/06/2021 20:41

@crazycatlady1981 seriously, and just yesterday I had a bizarre encounter with an incredibly miserable doctor who I was trying to get prescriptions from at the GP surgery who just did not want to help and was obstructive in every possible way. Speaking to a good doctor makes a world of difference.

Crazydoglady123 · 02/06/2021 21:12

@notyetamumbuttrying pineapple with core on an empty stomach. Good luck chomping through all your nuts 🤣

@Marvellouslymadmum can you not make an excuse and say you need them for a private appointment?

Amazing news @thislittlebird! OI with trigger shots and monitoring is really good! Thank you.

Thank you @Aimzie. Glad you had a nice time away. Fingers crossed your referral is quite quick. You'll have to tell us all about your wedding details 😍

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/06/2021 21:29

@crazycatlady1981 so nerve wracking! What if none have made it, it can happen 😱 I'll try and keep the faith though!
@Crazydoglady123 yep have been doing that around ovulation previously, didn't realise it was good to do before transfer too. My online shop is coming tomorrow evening! Haha love a good Brazil nut chomp 🤓
You doing any weird and wonderful things now that you're pregnant?

OP posts:
crazycatlady1981 · 02/06/2021 22:22

@Crazydoglady123 I’m on buserelin to start with and then ovaleap for 5 days, then menopur for the remainder.
I must remember to order pineapple with my shop later this month! Just ordered 6 litres of pure Pomegranate juice, that should see me through!! 😂

thislittlebird · 02/06/2021 22:54

@Crazydoglady123 did you have any OI along the way? I hadn’t heard of it with trigger shots before but maybe I hadn’t read enough on the subject.

Crazydoglady123 · 02/06/2021 23:05

@notyetamumbuttrying nothing but sleeping!

@polejunkie awww so exciting for you! Once you start stims it'll fly by!

@thislittlebird I did three cycles of letrozole and 2 of clomid. Mine wasn't tracked properly (just cd21 bloods) and no injections but the way your clinic wants to do it is the proper way which is good

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/06/2021 23:14

@thislittlebird that's amazing news!! I do hope everything goes well now and you do get your nhs entitlement! And yes that's definitely true about the results! I was more annoyed she wouldn't tell me if the oh sa result were even in than what they were, I'd expected to wait to speak to The doc just didn't think it would be a week!

@Aimzie it does make sense that you feel like the pressure has been taken off, I little time away from ttc may be what you need hopefully it won't be long for your new clinic

@crazycatlady1981 I didn't ask today in the end, I'll ring tomorrow @Crazydoglady123 I'll ring tomorrow they're usually ok about emailing results through

Juno231 · 03/06/2021 09:17

@crazycatlady1981 what brand pom juice did you get? I struggle to ever find any that's not just from concentrate.

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/06/2021 09:30

@Juno231 same! It's the one item that isn't in my shop for later.

OP posts:
crazycatlady1981 · 03/06/2021 09:51

@Juno231 @notyetamumbuttrying yeah I had the same issue! Used to get Pom juice from Waitrose or Morrison’s and then they seemed to stop selling it when I most need it!! 🙄 I got Biona one from Amazon in the end. Have hopefully attached a photo.

First injection done!! 💉 woohoo!! Was a bit shakey from nerves but DH popped home from work to help me out and he was good at flicking the needle to get rid of air bubbles! Teamwork! 🙌 😬

Infertile donkeys hoping for the endo the ttc journey. Longing to be fertile unicorns!
crazycatlady1981 · 03/06/2021 09:53

Flicking the syringe I mean, not the needle obvs!! Lol!

thislittlebird · 03/06/2021 09:55

@crazycatlady1981 on the plus side Biona is not from concentrat but POM is (despite the high price 🙄) although I won’t lie, I don’t love the taste of Biona. Had to mix it with orange.

Glad the injection went well!

@Crazydoglady123 my only fear with OI is it’ll be a waste of time and money and we could move straight to ivf but still, DH sperm might be too poor for it yet so I’ll wait and see.

CycleGirl20 · 03/06/2021 10:37

Hello 👋. Can I join? I'm 10dpo, negative cheapie early test (1-stop) and wondering how I'm gonna keep doing this for however long we need to to make an actual baby! I don't know how many cycles I've been TTC as I'm not sure what to count. Had to have 2 lots of TTC related surgery which put me out for 5 months, but we started TTC in Feb 2020.

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/06/2021 11:17

@crazycatlady1981 thanks for the pic! Good on Dh helping you out! Mine would flick the syringe too 😁
@CycleGirl20 welcome 🤗 have you started investigations yet? Was one of your surgeries a laparoscopy? I had one just before starting ivf. I'm currently waiting for my embryos to develop and transfer is booked for Sunday! 😬

OP posts:
CycleGirl20 · 03/06/2021 11:32

@notyetamumbuttrying that's good news. I think we've spoken a little before on here. I'm really happy to hear you're waiting on your embryos and transfer. Fingers and toes crossed!!

I've had bloods done twice, both times fine. AMH is normal/high 4.67ng/ml. One doctor suggested I might have pcos and another said I definitely didn't and I just have a lot of eggs for a 35 year old which she'd seen on many of my numerous ultrasounds. My testosterone and androgens were normal and I have regular cycles and confirmed ovulation in bloods and lh tests monthly. DH has 2% morphology but otherwise good, which they said shouldn't be a big issue. I had a lap and a follow up hysteroscopy. The lap involved a fair bit of surgery as I had 3 fibroids. We're now on month 1 of trying post lap after 5 months of down time (my period didn't happen at all in that time anyway). We said we'd try until September then look at ivf but we're going to get on the waiting list anyway. DH just needs to do bloods and the doctor will send our referral. I also have a packet of letrozole upstairs which I'm tempted to take next cycle but no longer with the doctor who would do the scan, so would be without monitoring.

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/06/2021 11:41

@CycleGirl20 aw thank you 😊
Wow lots of surgeries then! I wondered if they'd found endo. I have a fibroid too but they didn't remove it as it's small. Is Dh on supplements? If not, get him on proxeed plus. My Dh sperm was 2.3% morphology and it went up to 4% on them and with some lifestyle changes. Good to have a plan in place with getting on the waiting list etc. We started ttc sep19 so wasn't prepared to wait any longer really! I'm not familiar with letrozole so can't advise there but best of luck with whatever you decide 🍀🤞🏾

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 03/06/2021 11:45

@CycleGirl20 welcome! I have similar AMH to you, I would be cautious about the letrozole without monitoring with an already high number of eggs. Maybe you could take it but get scans from a private clinic?

CycleGirl20 · 03/06/2021 11:46

@notyetamumbuttrying that's a good % increase! DH is on supplements, but different ones. When they run out I will suggest proxeed. They didn't find endo, no. I just had a submucosal fibroid in the middle of my womb, plus one that was 3cm but indenting from the outside. The 3rd was just easily removed with the others.

thislittlebird · 03/06/2021 11:48

And I also had similar am I aren’t I PCOS chats. I’m 38 with 36 pmol/5.04 ng/ml. They seem to think it’s just very good for my age rather than PCOS at this stage.
