@Noodella18 when you on the other side desperate for answers i would never have looked at it the way you have just explained it.
but i suppose its true the NHS are very overstretched.

@thislittlebird yes you really have drawn the short straw and i just hope that going forward you receive the right care xx
maybe once you have IVF sorted booked etc (sorry don't know how it works) that you will be able to relax and could end up conceiving naturally. xx

Noodella18 · 25/05/2021 17:55

@thislittlebird, yeah I meant you progesterone! Just stumbled across some figures while looking for something else and it said that normal levels are between 5 and 20... www.healthline.com/health/serum-progesterone

Noodella18 · 25/05/2021 17:58

@got2be yeah I totally get it! And I wasn't trying to undermine your frustration, it's totally understandable, but I thought it might be useful to know why he said that!

VixFromThe6ix · 25/05/2021 18:03

@got2be I was on depo provers shot which I ended 4yrs ago. My periods were never the same since. I'm sure someway somehow it messed it all up for me. If I am lucky to have a daughter I'd never advise her to go on a pill or a shot. Maybe one of those IUD thingies.

thislittlebird · 25/05/2021 18:15

Oh god, I just read the ivf forms and I need all these tests done before treatment. Could cry thinking about trying to get a GP to help me get these done. Ones in red bracket are the ones the clinic have to perform, the rest in yellow can be done elsewhere.

Is it the same measurement? They usually want 20 or 30 over here.

Is ng/mL the same as nmol/L? I have no idea 😐

thislittlebird · 25/05/2021 18:24

I think the frustration for me with the nhs fertility care is it’s so all over the place. I need help for problems and I can’t get it, other people who just lie about the time they’ve been trying can probably get help. Someone might get ivf on the nhs who is much better off than the next person because they live in a different postcode. It’s not a fair system and I think they need to offer the same everywhere really, not 3 rounds in one place and none in another. That’s my frustration. Not that they push back on some things because I understand they’re under pressure, but the fact it’s not equal is frustrating.

thislittlebird · 25/05/2021 18:24

Although I know the NICE guidelines try to make treatment more standard but obviously that doesn’t happen when it gets to ccg level.

thislittlebird · 25/05/2021 18:30

Because I can’t stop posting @Noodella18...

ng/mL and nmol/L are not the same.
Screenshots of conversions attached using my results.

I checked - I did my prolactin test early in the morning (trying to self assure that this is why it's elevated). I'm going to book a private blood test to check again....fingers x

Noodella18 · 25/05/2021 19:29

@thislittlebird ah yes, not the same units.

Totally understand your frustration re the postcode lottery. Does seem completely unfair.

@VixFromThe6ix
Hi how are you doing?
Any symptoms so far? X

Hey, babe!
Sore boobs...that's about it so far.
Is bad sleep and being cold a symptom? Been sleeping like crap and always cold when inside my flat last like 3 days.
Would have liked to have some nausea just so I know things are happening in there lol

ImpatientTTCer · 25/05/2021 20:40

@VixFromThe6ix I have line envy 😂 I’m 12dpo today and can now see a strange pattern: every morning the FRER tests are faint, every evening they’re dark! I’m just starting to get lines on cheap stick tests, which is exciting. I’m so nervous too, I can’t stop testing. I’ll stop with the FRER once I hit 14/15DPO though, I promise.... 😭

Is your blood test just one test, or do they do a couple, X amount of hours apart to check for progression?

I’ve signed up for a private 6 week scan....just desperately hoping I get to that point!

ImpatientTTCer · 25/05/2021 20:42

I don't test with first morning pee. It's never as dark for me. I test with second morning pee lol I get a beautiful dark line on my cheapies and on my clear blue.
This blood test was to get my HCG reading and if it's positive I'll have to do another one in 3 days so they can see a healthy rise. Fingers crossed.
This has been my darkest line to date so I'm hoping this means a sticky bean.
Fingers crossed for both of us!!!

VixFromThe6ix · 25/05/2021 20:47

Your 8 pm line is so dark!!! Are you doing a blood test???
ImpatientTTCer · 25/05/2021 21:15

@VixFromThe6ix fingers crossed for your blood test! I don’t see how it could possibly be negative, given the darkness of the lines...but argh, I don’t envy you having to wait 3 days to do the next one!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t get on with FMU!

I’m too nervous to even call the GP yet, in case I start bleeding over the next few days, let alone arrange blood tests. Silly, I know. It’s a bank holiday on Monday so I’m going to give myself until Tuesday and see how things are. If everything seems ok then I’ll call the GP (I don’t need to but I want to discuss the vaccine), and I have to self refer to the local midwives via an online form.

Fingers crossed for the stickiest of sticky beans for you xx

VixFromThe6ix · 25/05/2021 21:22

@ImpatientTTCer Oh you're patient!!! Haha I told myself I will only test at 12dpo this time, but at 8dpo I could no longer wait.
I think you should keep peeing on the cheapies and see if it's progressing!

ElsieG3m · 25/05/2021 21:26

@MgW1 brilliant that your appt is so soon! I'm so sorry for your losses. That's so hard. I'm sorry to ask but have you had APS tests/clotting tests? They're common root causes of multiple mcs but very very treatable xx

ElsieG3m · 25/05/2021 21:27

@got2be how are you getting on lovely? Xx

02Carol · 25/05/2021 21:41

Hi ladies, I've been following all the posts, super exciting and loving the BFP's happening, keep us all posted how you are.

Been reading all the frustrations too regarding Gp's, wait times and lack or mix of information ladies are getting, it seems at times it's all such a lottery of who you talk to as to the help you are offered.

But something I do know and have seen mentioned, which may go down controversial is surrounding Clomid, and not offered this via GP.....a random but true fact is this is actually really easily available from serious bodybuilders....true story.

ImpatientTTCer · 25/05/2021 22:01

@VixFromThe6ix I tested from 6dpo 😂😂😂 only got the first vvfl on 10dpo

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/05/2021 22:09

@got2be sorry you had such a bad experience this month! And that consultant as much as it seems wrong may have just been hinting that what he wanted to offer he couldn't on the nhs

@ElsieG3m that's great about your test results! Definitely seems like everything's ok there!

@MgW1 I've never heard that about the progesterone! I'll try talking to the doc on Friday about the recurrent m/c and see what she says as I don't think I've ovulated this month at all so good knows if or when af will decide to show her head!

@thislittlebird do those tests all have to be repeated even though you've had most of them before?

I have to say with Drs being up front and telling me what might be paid for options that could help me, I’d be v grateful. Otherwise might walk away thinking there’s absolutely nothing more that can be done for me, when there actually is, it just doesn’t fall within the NHS remit. Sounds similar to Canada @VixFromThe6ix!

Hope everyone’s okay today x
