I get where your partner is coming from with the fear of trying again lovelylittlesunflower. At first my DH was desperate to get trying and I just wasn’t sure I could, as the fear of going through another miscarriage was too much. As time has gone in, I am now desperate for a baby, but the fear was (and in some ways still is) very real and difficult to get past. Maybe just give him a little time while you recover and hopefully he’ll come round to where you are. I would also second not being surprised you’ve had no call from your midwife. The system is terrible and there seems very little supposed. I was discharged from hospital following my surgery without even seeing a dr post-op. I had absolutely no follow-up and nobody contact me at any stage. It is something that really needs to change, and I’m sorry you’ve been upset by it.

That’s disgusting that you got that appointment reminded Babyghirl. Did you complain?

Sorry you’ve experienced the envy of a ‘might not even be a baby’ bump too Kiwi17.

Babyghirl · 21/06/2021 14:38

@miscarriage39
I phoned up and went at them on the phone they really need to change things for people who have had a miscarriage, I knw they see it everyday but the people going through it r different ones everyday 💚

ButtercupBlue · 21/06/2021 17:12
@lovelylittlesunflower I wouldnt expect much from the midwives, mine called me asking why I hadnt turned up to my 16 weeks appointment....I reminded them it's because I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks haha!
Yeah, I had a mmc in February last year and then in the July (would have been due early September), got a voicemail on my mobile inviting me to virtual antenatal classes with a list of dates and times. Totally floored me.

lovelylittlesunflower · 21/06/2021 17:12

Thanks everyone, I agree they must hear everyday of ladies miscarrying and maybe get desensitised to it. Maybe she's super busy?
But how can I build a relationship from a maternity care point of view again with her, knowing if I lose the next one, she won't be fussed at all.
It's such a huge thing to go through, pregnancy etc you need to believe the person, midwife providing your care, actually cares.

I had same experiences with hospital texts re scans when I was actually on the ward too, it was an app for the EPU emergency scan, but by that point I had already lost it.

Would any of you ladies know of the best thermometer I need to get? I've been using my kids in ear one 😅 I realised I prob need to upgrade!

Babyghirl · 21/06/2021 18:47

@lovelylittlesunflower
I used the one I get out of the pound shop lol does the same job for less the money 💚

kiwi17 · 21/06/2021 20:00

@lovelylittlesunflower I think I got a bbt one off Amazon for fairly cheap. On a different note does anyone else find it awkward when they are mid dtd and their pet wanders into the room? 😂😂🐱

Babyghirl · 21/06/2021 20:08

Girls I set in work today and watched the programme the great sperm race have any of yous ever watched it omg I found it really interesting just over 50 mins long get it on YouTube 💚
@kiwi17
Must of been that let's go ten mins till the match starts 😂😂😂😂😂😂 my dogs stay out the bck not allowed in the house 😂😂😂😂

kiwi17 · 21/06/2021 20:35

Haven't seen that! Will check it out. I've been enjoying the fertility podcast on Spotify recently - they have loads about fertility and mc. Hahaha think you're right @Babyghirl 😂😂😂😂 the cat was miaowing at the bedroom door it was all very distracting 🤣

Babyghirl · 21/06/2021 23:15

@kiwi17
Yea do I was amazed at how hard it is for sperm to reach the egg lol 💚

Miscarriage39 · 22/06/2021 11:45

I find the whole idea that maternity / medical staff get de-sensitised quite scary, and quite frankly, unacceptable as an excuse. My friend is a palliative care consultant and always says that the day she doesn’t feel empathy for the families she works with, and doesn’t fee innately compelled to express compassion, is the day she gives up. Yet miscarriage is treated so differently, and the professions seem to accept that.

I’ve not seen that Babyghirl, but will definitely have a look.

Babyghirl · 22/06/2021 14:11

@miscarriage39
Was really quite interesting to watch the journey sperm have to take to get to the egg 💚

Babyghirl · 22/06/2021 14:12

@miscarriage39
Out of all the sperm released there's only abot 2 that make it to the end 💚

Miscarriage39 · 22/06/2021 16:52

Wow, that’s quite incredible Babyghirl (and not particularly reassuring 😂)

Babyghirl · 22/06/2021 17:29

@miscarriage39
It really puts in to prospective why the odds a mouth r quite low and why to have sex couple of days running up to ovulation to have more sperm there waiting lol 💚

kiwi17 · 23/06/2021 16:54

How's everyone doing today? I've had a weird day - woke up with stabbing pain in my low right side bit like trapped wind, thought it would pass but still twinging at 3pm so took an opk and super dark and positive (which I thought anyway given cm) I then took a pg test as I was panicking after my super light af last month that maybe it was an ectopic pregnancy but thankfully negative! (Weird to want it to be negative but I was so paranoid that it was ectopic!) Seems to have subsided now so I'm guessing it was ovulation pain?! I've never had that before. Anyone else get pain that sustained??

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 17:11

@kiwi17
I get ovulation pain nearly every month on one side below my hip, pain is like a stabbing pain I normally have it a few hours mine is normally in the evening and subsides by the nxt morning would remind you of a bad stitch 💚

kiwi17 · 23/06/2021 17:25

@Babyghirl yeah that sounds about right! So weird wonder why that has started up now after so many years of not?!

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 18:23

@kiwi17
It can happen out of the blue even if u have never had it, I went to the docs years ago cause of it but I did nt knw at the time what it was lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂 was nt until I started ttc and was checking and realised it happened every month in the middle of my cycle lol 💚

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 18:25

Well cd17 for me and if I'm right 5dpo lol
@Annny27
Where r u in ur cycle 💚

cupcakesandglitter · 23/06/2021 18:40

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining this thread? I'm currently TTC #2. Had several mc before my DD, so decided to start trying quickly as it took 18 months with her, so started this year.

I have had two mc this TTC journey, one in March and one in may. I've contacted a fertility clinic who have prescribed me progesterone as they think this may be the issue, so I'm going to start taking them after I've ovulated (whenever that is!)

Ive been following this thread for a while but didn't feel ready yet to join. Finding it really hard right now as I would've been almost 20 weeks pregnant and everyone seems to pregnant right now, I feel like it's either not going to happen for me again or i'm going to be left behind and be one of the last ones to get pregnant again. Sorry if this all sounds stupid, i'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 19:23

@cupcakesandglitter
So sorry you found yourself on r thread but glad you found us for support, so sorry for what your going through it's good to tlk to people who have been through the Same thing and understand, I myself have had 4 miscarriages and 1 cp ttc num 1 and have now been going progesterone from my next bfp from the rmc but they will be phoning me soon with more blood results and in going to ask them about it from after ovulation to c if it will help cause most times it has took a year to get pregnant only 4th I fell ten weeks after my 3rd miscarriage rent away nothing asked is ever to much 💚

kiwi17 · 23/06/2021 20:32

Aww welcome @cupcakesandglitter and I'm sorry for your losses. I know what you mean - it's easy when you're in friendship groups of women all getting pregnant and it feels like it is a race but I have to keep reminding myself it's my timescale not theirs and when it happens for me it will be the right time 😊 I have a DD who is 3 and had a mc in march. As @Babyghirl says rant away! @Babyghirl you're probably right about the ov pain - on the plus side at least I know I'm ovulating?! Saves money on opks 😂

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 20:41

@kiwi17
Yep ur right takes the stress out of watching and wondering if them lines r getting darker 😂😂😂😂😂😂, it's so thou and if I got to the pee when my bladder is emptying it's more sore for a min lol 💚

kiwi17 · 23/06/2021 22:54

@Babyghirl yes same!! I kept thinking it was just gas (😂) but it didn't stop. It's gone now and we have dtd so fingers crossed!!🤞🤞

Babyghirl · 23/06/2021 23:07

@kiwi17
Only thing I have nt crossed for u is my legs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 💚
