Thanks for turning up you lovely lot and so Welcome back on board the bus where our route now takes us through the POAS early corner of shame to the “I’m gonna wait until AF is late this time” and then stopping at the fertility clinic to drop off a bunch of giggling girls going to get their foof felt up by a load of nurses and hopefully get impregnated by them! 🤞🏻

This bus is the one where TTC happens in many different forms, shagging conventionally, unconventionally, with the help of scientific intervention, IUI/ICSI/Clomid/IVF & even just watching from the top of the bus 👀. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been trying for days, weeks, months or like some of us we’ve been around each other for so long we can’t bear to leave, nothing is TMI and there’s never a silly question...

Hell we KNOW TTC is tough, lots of us have had heart ache & are chasing 🌈so we are there for each other, as well as trying to have laughs along the way 🥰☺️

@Juno231 who knows! That's why I was half tempted to leave the progesterone to see if there was any change from normal.
@larrythelizard I always found FF accurate as long as you give it enough info. It never predicts mine right off it's own back (it always puts my cycles longer than they are) but if I use opks and/or BBT then it's always correct.
@Franklydear opks are worth a try. You have options. It does depend on how often you need to use them/how predictable your cycle is. It tells you on it what day to start on your cycle length on the clear blue ones (so my slightly short cycle, i start day 8).
So there's the clear blue advanced one (purple) that I've used before. That one checks 2 things. So you'll get blank when there's nothing happening, it'll go flashing as it starts picking up your hormones changing, and then static face when ovulation is due (usually 24-36 hours later). So dtd at static! (but you'd start dtd when flashing really). So you usually get some warning. The downside to it is that its not cheap if you end up using it ages because you don't know your cycle length. You use fmu too for that one.
Clear blue also do just a standard pink one. That is blank to smiley with no flashing warning. So it'll just tell you that you are literally about to ovulate with no advance warning. That one you do at any time of day after a 4 hour hold.
Or you can use ICs, which are really the same as the pink clear blue. I use the one step ones from ebay. Use any time of day after a 4 hour hold (but never with fmu). The good thing about these is you can use loads and it doesn't matter. So you'd maybe do one a day (afternoon tends to be best) until you start getting a stronger line and then you can start doing 2 (or more if you want) a day. You'll physically see the lines getting stronger. If you use the femometer app (probably are others) you can take a photo of them and upload it and it'll tell you if it's low, high, peak etc. But peak is basically when the line is as dark as (or darker) than the control line. One you've done it a month you'll see the line come and then fade out again.
My surge is quick- i start getting lines one day, the next is strong, the next it's fading. But some people get multiple surges so it's best to keep testing after you think it's happened. Just in case.

@Franklydear I use the Clearblue advance ones. Start them quite early as I ov early so I don't find the instructions for them work for me but like @paintfairy says not cheap, think like £27 for the reader and 20 tests, I usually can stretch one pack over 1.5 months though as you can use the reader again. I had used ICs after my peak on the Clearblue just incase my body had tried to ovulate and didn't so as to capture another 'peak' the OPKs don't confirm actually ovulation though as I've found this month just that it's detected a rise in hormones.

@paintfairy I used the clearblue pink one too for the 1st time last month think we missed our peak day though coz OH fell asleep and they we argued for 2 days!!! This month dtd day we got static smiley so hopefully that'll be enough.
As I've said before I don't really understand the process you're going through but are you taking progesterone tablets?
I was told I'd could get help if I get a BFP after 2 CPs and that could be progesterone and aspirin. Just interested in how different other people's journeys are.
Are you taking any other medications? Apologises for my ignorance. They don't tell you this in sex ed do they

You can reuse the holder @bez91 but I managed to buy different sticks than fit in the holder I had DOH!

TTC is an expensive business!

@bez91 🤣 I don't even use them any more. My cycle is so predictable! But @Franklydear if you can bbt then it confirms (although not until after) if the opk was correct. Or AF would also indicate it too, if you lp was always the same length.
@DOB78 so this month i had injections to help stimulate eggs from day 4-8. On day 9 it was found that i had 2 dominant follicles so they didn't want to wait until I ovulated naturally (day 11 or 12 usually) and so gave me a trigger shot to bring ovulation on early. (But ideally you'd not want to be doing that, you'd want to get the medication right, so that you could ovulate by yourself). Then I'm to use progesterone suppositories for my lp because I always spot in my lp. They wouldn't give that to everyone though as standard. Only if there's an issue or possibly after iui hasn't worked previously.

@paintfairy wow that sounds pretty awesome! I just didn't realise there were so many interventions to support ttc. How long do take the progesterone for? Suppositories I thought it would be tablets, oh god I really have no clue.
After my last CP I had bloods done but guess what they tested everything but HCG and progesterone but they think the losses are due to low levels of progesterone. I've tried to help myself by taking vitex but I don't know if it's done anything

CD18 and not even a hint of a positive OPK here so the mc does indeed seem to have fucked my cycle. On the plus side I’ve had my hair and brows done and I do indeed feel “so fresh and so clean” 😂

And Mable @kaylsd I've been on northisterone to induce bleeding a few times & it's so frustrating, but @Hopeful110 has just got a BFP after having previously ridiculous cycles so there's def hope for you. @kaylsd we need an embarrassing story please, doesn't have to be TTC related!

@DOB78 also with the body playing weird tricks on you! It's worth checking back in with your GP on the progesterone, you can request a repeat one I think and you can buy baby aspirin from Savers, 75mg, they don't do any harm in taking them so maybe try that?

I usually only have a 12 day LP so I'm expecting AF in the next couple of days. Probably tonight or tomorrow!

@Franklydear that was the same for me though, that's why I got the clearblue, you just do that with FMU after your longest sleep, I was awful at the ICs & couldn't do BBT as I have broken sleep and apparently wine makes it unreliable so weekends would have been out for me. I'd def try the clearblue darling

@DOB78 I probably forgot the important bit! 🙈 They inseminated me the day after the trigger shot. In a hope getting the sperm in there works. It goes straight into your womb after having a wash. 🤣
The progesterone you use until af comes/ negative pregnancy test (it can delay AF). I don't think you can do it tablet form. I suppose it releases over a time but I'm not sure how many hours it takes to absorb. I only have to use them at night, as its like a top up. It's not bad at all really. But the ivf ladies have to use a lot more! But yeah I think there's a fair few things they can do. Some consultants try women on clomid (you can have the injections I'm using instead, but they are more expensive so I suspect it isn't the go to for the nhs) to just see if that gives their cycle a push. I do think my ovulation is weak to be honest and me ovulation ovulating early is a problem. But that's a guess.

@Franklydear thanks I will look it up. The clear blue OPK are really easy to use, just an fmu but even the cheap ones are pretty easy and you don’t have to hold your wee very long if you get a good surge it will show up. Temping is another matter, I’ve started although I skipped this morning. My thermometer beeps and it wakes DH which stresses me out, also if it has been a warm night it seems to affect the temp as we don’t have the summer duvet on yet so I’m not sure it’s really worth it but maybe if it shows you have actually ovulated it can give you some hope? OPK don’t confirm that you actually have ovulated so they can sometimes give a false sense of security I think but still good to make sure you don’t miss your window. Sorry you are feeling so low, it’s always worse when you are in the midst of af, just be kind to yourself and hopefully you will feel able to make your decision in a few days.

@Franklydear I used to do mine in the afternoon. I tend to wee at 3pm and go out. I'm not really drinking then. And I don't then need to go until much later because I've been and not drinking. If I'm constantly drinking then 2 hours is about my limit!

@kaylsd yeah @Minster2012 is right, my cycles basically sat around 146 days, last month I had a chemical pregnancy (no AF either) and 36 days later I ovulated again, and got my bfp on Thursday and am now 4 weeks tomorrow! So honestly don't give up... if me and @minster2012 can fall pregnant then there's always hope! 🤞 for you lovely x

@Haiyaa yeah I went weekly for a while and now I'm going every other week, so around ovulation and period. I love it 😂 it makes me feel zen ha!
