I'm still only in my first month TTC but everyone is so friendly on these chats and I've learned so much from the lovely ladies!

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 22:09

@charja100 1dpo here!

charja100 · 29/04/2021 22:15

@Geriatric1234 welcome to the longest 14 days 😂

I'm so tired at the moment and making so many assumptions that my tiredness is a symptom but I have no reason to think I'm pregnant. It's hope and wishful thinking I suppose

LizzieLou86 · 29/04/2021 22:28

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum That’s a good idea, think I will get my progesterone tested next cycle too. Perhaps I have just ovulated later, would make sense as I haven’t gotten a peak this month on my ovulation tests, and stopped about CD15... should have probably kept going!

LizzieLou86 · 29/04/2021 22:39

If you ladies don’t mind me asking, have any of you ever found that it’s taken your cycles a couple of months to return to normal after a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage? I know this can happen especially if you’re further along but wasn’t sure with CPs?

Geriatric1234 · 30/04/2021 06:54

@charja100 thanks Grin When I was pg before my MC I was EXHAUSTED so every time I’m tired I think hmmmm.... lol Fingers crossed!!

Noodella18 · 30/04/2021 08:18

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah I know but my sleep is so broken and my temp taking times so variable that I can't pinpoint when the rise actually happened! It definitely has happened, just can't tell when exactly 🙈 so I'm either 11, 10, 9 or 8 DPO! If I just go by when I got the opk peak then it's 9 or 10.

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 08:58

@got2be sorry lovely, I missed this - not very good at reading these posts as they don't seem to appear every time! Looks like they did a decent work up and I can't tell you what the values mean except for lupus obviously! But if you go to Raj Rai - St Mary's is the only place in the country that does this special blood clotting test where they spin your blood in a vial with viper's venom (yes really!). It detects cases of APS missed on other tests. Honestly, I'd prioritise going there if you can. Fingers crossed you get your appt soon xx

KatRee · 30/04/2021 09:32

Did an FRER at 10dpo this morning and predictably got a very stark BFN. Didn't have any expectations and trying to focus on the next cycle and fertility consultation coming up in about a week, but still feel deflated. Sometimes I just get gripped by sheer fear at the thought that this just might never happen 😔

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 09:51

@KatRee I'm really sorry that you didn't get a BFP. Is it possible it's still too early? I read that 85% of i plantations occur on 9DPO so you would g expect to get a positive until 12DPO. How long have you been trying? Any other little ones? It's so scary but positive that you have an appt booked - at least then you are taking positive steps xx

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 09:52

Ps I have period cramps and my usual period signs today too and also feeling a bit deflated so do totally get it xx

KatRee · 30/04/2021 10:26

Thanks @ElsieG3m. I think I have heard something similar re implantation, but from what I see in hear seems most people get faint lines on FRERs this early.
We are trying for our first, how about you? We stopped using protection over 2 years ago and initially were very relaxed and had a 'see what happens mindset'. But started feeling the urgency a few months ago and been trying very hard since the start of this year-which I know isn't long, but it's putting me and our relationship under quite a bit of strain, and every month I worry so much about why it hasn't worked this time. How many dpo are you? I feel like in some months my pre-menstrual symptoms would kick in before implantation would have had a chance to happen, so figure it's not necessarily a sign that you are out? I hope not anyway -🤞for you x

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 10:39

@KatRee we are trying for our second after delaying a bit because of the pandemic (I had to shield and was v nervous). I'm now feeling a different pressure of not being able to give our daughter sibling but we are very blessed to have her. This is our third cycle but I'm certain I'm not pregnant. It puts all relationships under strain so you are not alone but you do have my sympathies. Often we're not in sync - my husband isn't worried at all even though our first three pregnancies happened within 1-2 months (lost two before our daughter). I'm more concerned and frankly a bit stressed so his relaxed attitude winds me up a bit! I've booked in fertility tests next week to do a bit of a MOT. As we're 37 (me) and 43 (him) I thought we'd just go and see then we know if there are any issues. Have you had any tests done? Try not to worry too much if you can. It's so hard but as you say, you've only just v recently started to try properly. Are you dtd every other day in the middle of your cycle? Xx

KatRee · 30/04/2021 11:37

@ElsieG3m I'm so sorry for your losses.
My OH is also very relaxed whilst I'm obsessing over everything. Last month he said something along the lines of 'well, if it doesn't work, we'll just get IVF like soandso' as though IVF was as easy as Amazon Prime or something! Blissfully ignorant!
I had day 3 and 21 bloods done in Feb, which apparently were fine and was referred to fertility clinic at local hospital, supposed to get Hycosy done and SA for my OH, but we can't get through to them to book, so are going to pursue the private route for further investigations in the hope of getting some answers ASAP.
I know I have a lot to be positive about, but my thinking has become so obessesive recently, literally cannot stop- have hardly got anything done at work for past two weeks and when I've seen friend for first time in ages I've struggled to find things to say, because ttc is just so consuming. I know lots of women experience something similar, but it's often not spoken about in the real world for various reasons. Thanks for listening to me whine on here!

KatRee · 30/04/2021 11:49

@ElsieG3m re dtd, I started using OPKs in Jan and will time it as close as possible to when I get a peak, also got the flashing ones this month which gives you a bit of advanced warning -I've found that my ov day does move about quite a bit, probably partly due to what supplements I'm taking that month. I think I have a very narrow fertile window though as don't get any ewcm- I understand you need it to keep the sperm alive, so pretty worried I don't seem to produce any! OH has been struggling a lot with the pressure to perform on demand too, so it's an added strain.
I'm sorry you've had to shield, can understand you would want to postpone ttc during that time, but must have been very frustrating.
I think it's good we're both getting tests done soon- hopeful for good news and progress for us both xx

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 11:49

@KatRee oh no I totally understand. I'm obsessive too - reading everything I can online, getting hopes up and symptom spotting. It's so flipping hard and yet it seems so easy for so many people. I've heard so many times that people have fallen when they're stopped trying but I'm too much of a control freak. I try but relaxed and casual is just not in my nature. It's not whining btw - it's important it have outlets and I've found this community so helpful. We're all in the same boat (in the sense of wanting a healthy pregnancy) and it's hard to talk to friends and family without getting lots of well-intentioned but sometimes fundamentally unhelpful advice. My Mum is def sick of hearing me bang on about it and we're really close. It's just important to have the outlet I think xx

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 11:54

@KatRee I've stripped back my supplements just to folic acid and vit d 1000iu based on what others have said on here though I know others are recommended but that's all I took when I conceived my daughter and I think the pregnacare has been giving me nausea (prob wasn't taking on a full stomach). Re EWCM I wouldn't worry - lots of women don't get much and conceive. I tend to be a bit dry and I think it's because my uterus tilts backwards so it doesn't really come out if that makes any sense. Some people have luck with pre-seed though I have read nothing is better if it's possible. But may be worth trying for a cycle to see if it helps his swimmers!
Tbh I wish I'd not worried about the virus and just cracked on. Pretty sure I had it last March and was then at home for months not seeing anyone but at the time it was so scary. But hey hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it? Xx

KatRee · 30/04/2021 12:13

@ElsieG3m Ah, hindsight... it was scary though, particularly in the early days and must have been so much more so if you'd been told to shield
Thanks for the reassurance re EWCM, that makes me feel better. I did actually use preseed for the first time this cycle after umming and aahing about whether it would be beneficial or not. Obviously it didn't work any miracles, but I actually quite liked it, so will probably try it again. Also going to try some good quality EPO. Even though I'm already rattling with the amount I'm on. Pregnacare did not agree with me either!
I hope you have some good news soon xx

ElsieG3m · 30/04/2021 13:04

@KatRee fingers crossed for you too lovely xx

Misty84 · 30/04/2021 13:19

@KatRee Everything you’ve said is how I feel too! (And my OH sounds similar to yours!)

bass123 · 30/04/2021 13:27

Sadly AF visited today. I am really starting to think this will not happen :(

Katiekattty · 30/04/2021 13:30

I’ve ruled myself out and AF should have started yesterday or today and nothing showed up not even my normal spotting so I tested to torture myself. But it can’t be, can it? Am I seeing things??
