hey everyone thought id share this. had reflexology today reflexologist said everything looked fine and in great working order no imbalances etc, so she gave everything a boost. only thing she picked up on was tightness in legs/a tight psoas muscle and said that can affect fertility and to try pilates, said i don't need weekly sessions to come back next month if no bfp.
never heard of psoas muscle before so will research an share what i find.

got2be · 01/05/2021 18:12

@Theawkwardblonde congratulations wishing for a happy and healthy 9 months x

Aimzie · 02/05/2021 08:30

@got2be that's so interesting, I've been going to an acupuncturist for about a year and I've a tight psoas muscle on one side, it has caused me knee pain for years, she's very spiritual too & told me that the psoas muscle is actually known as the soul muscle, she sent me a really interesting article on it I must try find it for you ❤️

Aimzie · 02/05/2021 08:35

www.joburninghamyoga.com/psoas-and-fertility/

This isn't the one that she sent me but I found it so interesting at the time when she told me about it

got2be · 02/05/2021 12:15

@Aimzie I’d never heard of the psoas before but upon reading it is a master muscle. And really does make a lot of sense.
Did your acupuncturist tell you how it can be loosened?
Also looking into it, it keeps referencing pelvic congestion and alignment which I personally want to look into more as my last child was late due to my pelvis being out of place.

MIW01 · 02/05/2021 16:15

Congratulations @Theawkwardblonde I am literally keeping everything crosses for you!

That's interesting @Aimzie I had physio for psoas in last couple of years. I was told it's connected to a weak core which I've always had despite regular yoga, horse riding, daily planks (when I remember) etc. I've always had a weak core which physio told me puts strain on the psoas causing problems. Too much sitting on a chair (i.e. office based work) exacerbates it

Ladies I remember an Endo Facebook group being mentioned earlier but can't find the post. Would someone please kindly share it again? Thanks.

Aimzie · 02/05/2021 17:39

Yeah @MIW01 so those positions like sitting, driving a car/bike or horse riding has your hip flexor shortened, it's in a kind of strained position so it gets tight. Yeah that's interesting I've heard that about a weak core too affecting that area

she did a bit of work herself on that area for me @got2be because when mine goes my knee locks and I can't walk, I found a bit of yoga in the morning really helps mine, I have to warm up for half an hour before I train my legs but I think I've years of damage there, nothing gives me relief for very long, there is another little plastic thing for the psoas muscle I'd say you could find it on ebay or amazon, you just put it on the floor and lie into it and I think it gets in deep to the hip flexor area for you 😊

@MIW01 that is interesting. I have terrible core muscles, can't ever seem to activate them, I wonder if it's connected!

paintfairy · 02/05/2021 19:44

God my hips are always tight from riding! @Aimzie That's Not good.

MIW01 · 02/05/2021 20:12

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying I just requested to join. I wondered, have you had much information about how much removal of endo post lap is supposed to improve fertility and increase chances of conception, naturally I'm curious as I've never had a BFP

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/05/2021 22:13

@MIW01 no actually. I was just told it will help with ivf as that's what's next for me due to my low amh. We still tried this month even though I'll be starting down regs drugs next week. I've been told it won't have an effect if I am pregnant...time will tell! Hope you find the group useful.

@Crazydoglady123 good luck with your EC today! 💕

Motherofkittens28 · 03/05/2021 10:27

@Crazydoglady123 all the best for egg collection today! Fingers crossed for lots of lovely mature eggs for you!

Crazydoglady123 · 03/05/2021 12:12

Thanks everyone. Back home and feeling okay. More sleepy than anything else. I did wake up on the last bit of collection but they were basically done so I can live with that. 12 eggs collected (would have been 14 but they lost two 🤷🏽‍♀️). They'll be fertilised by ICSI this afternoon and we'll be updated tomorrow

Annny27 · 03/05/2021 12:43

Good news @crazydoglady123 hopefully the fertilisation rate is promising too 🥰🥰

Motherofkittens28 · 03/05/2021 12:48

@Crazydoglady123 that's a wonderful number, have yourself a well earned rest and relax today and try and keep calm over the next few days as you get updates, I know its easier said than done!

polejunkie · 03/05/2021 16:28

@Crazydoglady123 amazing news! How did you find it? I hope you’re feeling ok, such a big step forward! Keep us updated, exciting days ahead for you! Any idea when transfer will be yet? Well done you x

Motherofkittens28 · 03/05/2021 18:20

Hey all, hope everyone has had a nice Bank Holiday. I'm feeling really low today, I'm expecting AF on Saturday but had none of my normal ovulation symptoms, no pain, no sore boobs. I have been having cramping on one side for the last two days though so I think the witch is on her way. I know I should be excited to start our second ivf cycle but I'm just so scared it will be as bad as last time with only 1 egg from my five follicles. I kind of just want to get it over with and move on to my frozen eggs, then if that doesn't work we know a donor egg really is our only option. I just feel so old and useless! I'm only recently 39 but I was 37 when we started this process, it all just feels so unfair and I'm struggling today.

polejunkie · 03/05/2021 18:45

@Motherofkittens28 sending you some sympathy - the low days just keep coming on this journey don’t they, I know what you mean about wanting to get on with things, I feel that too. It is unfair but we have to get through these days and keep stepping forward, even if it feels like your at a stand still 💐

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/05/2021 19:52

@Crazydoglady123 really pleased for you! Hope you have some good news on the eggies

@Motherofkittens28 sorry you're having a low day lovely, when are you starting the new ivf cycle? Hopefully it'll go better than last time for you

Motherofkittens28 · 03/05/2021 20:11

Thanks @polejunkie and @Marvellouslymadmum. New cycle should start at the weekend, AF due Saturday and that will be day 1 of the ivf cycle. Have to have a baseline scan by day 3 and if all is well start drugs on day 3, which I guess will Monday or Tuesday next week. I'm a bit worried I shouldn't have gone for another cycle before my wedding (just under 11 weeks) because I have enough on my plate but I originally just wanted to get on. Too late now!

Crazydoglady123 · 03/05/2021 20:15

Thanks everyone. Transfer planned for Saturday @polejunkie

@Motherofkittens28 waiting for Af to come is depressing enough. She never shows her face when you want her! Try and stay positive. Hopefully all the new protocol and the extra meds will do their magic this time ❤️

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/05/2021 20:22

@Motherofkittens28 I think af is due for me on Saturday too, at least you'll be so busy you won't have time to sit around and think!
