The girls have swapped their checked shirts for pastel dresses and it’s time to sit back and relax after a stressful few weeks (months…years!!)

Welcome to the 10th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Whether you’re struggling with an insanely long cycle or an insanely short cycle, your luteal phase is crazy short, your temps are all over the place, or you’re just feeling like if you see one more day of a damn flashing smiley you’re going to throw it out the window…we’re here for you. Grabbed a cheap Asda test over the weekend, don't know why cos I'm not pregnant but I've just done it now and it's not even bloody worked 😂 can you pee too much on it?!

@MissM94 if you’ve been drinking loads it could be too diluted but even though you’d just get a negative test. Also most PTs say to use First morning urine (I presume because it’s more concentrated.. 🤷‍♀️). So maybe check again in the morning 🤞

I don’t usually get a mad urge to test but struggling this morning and it’s only 8DPO so way too early. Too tempting.

@Gracie2021 @ChinChilly Thanks ladies!! Acupuncture was amazing, it felt like therapy!! She spoke to me about loads of stuff for 20mins going through my medical history and said she wants to work on bringing my ovulation forward. It just felt so nice to be listened to and not felt like you're going crazy (basically like this group but with needles too!) Interview went ok I think, they were so lovely and sounds like a great role, but there are 5 other candidates 😩 I'll know tomorrow afternoon if I go to the final round!

@MissC07 I'm a big fan of acupuncture. I look forward to it every week. It has encouraged me to drink less and eat better too, as I don't want to undo the good work.

I paid for a finger prick blood test and the results just came back. My vitD and thyroid were normal but my LH and FSH were high, which has sent me into a bit of a depressing google hole today. 13.8 and 13.3 respectively. Those numbers are indicative of poor ovarian reserve It doesn't necessarily mean I won't conceive naturally but it's not a good sign, especially if I wanted to consider IVF (and I don't think I want to go down that route, at the moment anyhow).

The papers I've read today (I'm by no means a specialist but I'm a biologist by training so sort of familiar with the bio markers) suggest that FSH can rebound high after stopping the pill (ANOTHER thing the doctors don't tell you) so it can actually settle down after 6 months. This is my first real cycle after coming off the pill, after all (after waiting 100 days for a proper period) so it would make sense things were messed up. My hormones have been suppressed for so long that I'm obviously really struggling to ovulate.

I'm not giving up hope by any means and I'm just going to stay positive and keep trying. But the signs aren't great. I always said that "if it didn't happen" I didn't want children enough to consider IVF but now I'm not so sure. And I'm running out of time as well (I'm 38). It's hard wish I'd started ages ago.

@MissM94 I came off the patch mid February. Had my withdrawal bleed as normal, then waited 42 days for my first AF on March 29th. Which only lasted 2 days and super light. And now nothing since, CD43 and nothing but cramping spells and insane hunger?!

@Gracie2021 Ih that’s good. So I assume you came off contraception around June? How have your cycles been since Christmas, have they regulated now?

@whirlingD you're so soon off the pill, hopefully that's what's pushing up your FSH. But if you're concerned then ask your GP if they will re-test you; say you did a finger prick test and you are a little concerned by the results, that's what I did with my TSH (which was much lower on the NHS compared with the finger prick test) Hopefully everything is fine x

Well i got a BFP this morning, pretty faint lines again but I'm cautiously optimistic but also q bag of nerves!

Worst mood this month. My SIL conceived both of her children very quickly. She has taken pics of her baby girl out at the zoo and the toy shop. I have a lot of friends with toddlers or babies. They're lovely but I'm just tired.

A day late for period, cramps on Saturday, nothing Sunday, cramps yesterday, no blood. I'm expecting it to start today as got a couple of BFNs, one just taken now. Sad and sore!

@pineapple2021 I'm not sure how many DPO as I haven't been tracking this month, AF was due yesterday accoring to FF.

9DPO here today. Feeling so much pressure this cycle for a few reasons. First cycle after starting acupuncture, there’s been a few announcements around us, we managed our best DTD timing ever this month and we got our referral for testing this month. And then my temps were through the roof higher than any other cycle. All of which means nothing and I’m no more likely for good news this month than any other but still know it’s going to be one of those cry on the couch months when it all comes crashing down. Decided to just skip the “will I won’t I” with tests and just do a cheapie Easy@home every morning and at least then I’ve bitten the bullet and can go on about my day. Anyone else struggling in the TWW at the moment?

Missed your message there @minipilling so sorry you’re having a rough time. Hope AF just comes already for you if she’s coming. That in between stage is just a killer. Hope you have some nice treats planned xxx

To you lot who seem much better at knowing OPK sticks and their mystical ways, does this look my peak (CD14) is coming?! It's the highest level I've ever had and I've been POAS for days(!)

I'll wee again later to see, and try to err dry my self out a bit in anticipation (I drink far too much tea/squash) 🙄

@feliznavidad2 for sure. Especially when it’s so high early in the morning. From what I’ve read LH really only starts rising from late morning. Good luck.

@Gracie2021 thank you, wishing you the best for this cycle! Anticipating disappointment really sucks. Like, I know I'm out this month but then my body plays tricks!

Actually to caveat that, everyone is a bit different. I get rapid LH rises and only when ovulating but some people struggle with rises through the month that don’t always trigger ovulation. But when you start to see it rise safer to assume ovulation is on its way.

@minipilling it’s at the point that I feel relief when it actually comes because at least it’s closure for that particular month. The hope towards the end of the cycle is actually the worst but for me.
