@Lalala1985 My dog does the same! She likes to poke her wet nose directly into my eye socket!

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 13:26

Yeah 50mg of b6 per day was great last month for me, I think I’ll try it again after ovulation this month. Apparently at our age it’s one of the things we can be lacking in.

I assume it’s o day soon because it’s cycle day 17 and I just had a sudden EWCM appearance, bit different from normal, it’s just one glob (sorry for tmi) and I usually get EWCM a few days ahead of O.

Would really like to know if I really do ovulate or not, roll on fertility appointment but they will likely just give me drugs.

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah May is fertility, April is dermatologist. As my husband keeps saying, I need to deal with one problem at a time Confused.

@Marvellouslymadmum it’s nice to be able to sleep and not constantly itching. It’s a nice break right now, just worried about the stepping down from the steroids and how my stupid immune system will react.

I went for my run again, I need to keep at it.

Hi all! Just found this thread, was going to create my own but thought I would join you guys!

TTC #1 for 18 months now (cycle 20 now). Had all tests, semen analysis, AMH, full blood works, internal scans, Hycosy etc. All is working as it should. Ovulating, regular periods....just not happening!

Both my partner and I just turned 35, together for 4 years. Neither of us have had children or tried for before so this is all new to us!!

Starting to wonder if we are in the small % of couples who come under the "unexplained" but I am hoping not!!

Hope you all have a good day xx

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 14:19

Hey @Gtcttww86 welcome aboard!

It’s good that there’s no problems, but yeah, frustrating to say the least. It just feels so crazy that it just doesn’t happen in such a long time for lots of people. Did they say what they can do for you as “unexplained”?

Hey *@Gtcttww86* welcome aboard!

Thank you. Yes I am feeling positive that all is seemingly well and working as it should.

Well they didn't say we could be one of the unexplained, that's just me being paranoid and getting ahead of myself!! The doctor doing my Hycosy said its up to us now what we do, basically carry on as we are and hope nature does her thing or go for IVF.

So we are going to continue as we are for 6 months which will take us to the 2 year mark and re-assess where we are! But, I hope and pray by that point we might have a baby on the way!

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 15:02

Really upset. Been told by my doctor that I’m not eligible for IVF because my AMH is too low (2.3). That’s always felt like my back up (as other friends went down that route successfully).
Just can’t believe it. Feel so helpless and don’t know what to do anymore or what other options there are 😖

Katiekattty · 25/03/2021 15:21

Oh @Misty84 I’m so sorry. Sending you massive hugs

soontobeamama · 25/03/2021 15:30

I'm so sorry @Misty84 - hopefully this isn't the end of your journey - are you able to get a second opinion? Would you have the option to speak to a private fertility specialist?

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 15:46

Thank you @Katiekattty and @soontobeamama
Yes I will try and get a second opinion and it looks like we will have to try the private route and put our savings into that😕 Hope something can help us as to not be a mum is just such a horrific prospect that I can’t even face! x

Pamparam · 25/03/2021 16:08

That’s really rubbish @Misty84. So it’s just an NHS rule? You could go private (if you could afford it)?

TTCat39 · 25/03/2021 16:20

Oh @Misty84 Thanks I'm so sorry for your news. I hope you can find another way.

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 16:28

@Misty84 I’m so sorry you got that news. I think @Kitekat81 has done a bit of research on mild/natural IVF for low egg reserve, it might be worth having a read about that in case that’s an option. I don’t know much about it, but I know Create do it.

Also, have you had a follicle count? Not sure if they’ve done that for you and if it lines up.

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 16:42

Thank you @Pamparam @TTCat39 @thislittlebird
Basically the NHS thinks the chances of success are so low that it’s not worth them paying for. So even if we went privately I don’t know if we’d just be wasting our money.
I honestly don’t know how we got to this place, how crap it is, how unfair it all is. Why do some people have it so easy???? It absolutely does my head in.
Thank you for the advice about Create thislittlebird, I will look into that. My follicle count was 10.
I’ve cried so much I’m absolutely drained. I’d actually been having quite a good positive month until that call.
Just want all of us ladies to have success. 🙏

02Carol · 25/03/2021 16:43

@Misty84, I'm with the other ladies, can you get a second opinion?
Or did the Dr at least give some other avenues, for example private or any other tests?

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 16:50

@02Carol He said they’ll do the laparoscopy on me but it’s “at least another 6 month wait”. Do they think we have endless time?! Surely very low egg reserve means time is of the essence! It’s just hopeless. We will have to go private and hope for the best. Exhausted from this x

climbershell · 25/03/2021 16:56

@Misty84 I'm so sorry to hear that!

For others new to opk charting thought I'd show you my chart now my surge is complete. And my tests. I started testing day 9 and finally a faint at day 13. So ov today cd20, one last shag tonight, reluctantly gave him the night off yesterday 😅

Geriatric1234 · 25/03/2021 16:57

@Misty84 Oh no that is such utter bullsh*t!! Can I remind you my sister had an AMH of 3.1 and is now 8 weeks pregnant. With your very respectable follicle count I truly believe you need to just keep going. It’s just awful to have the Plan B removed, but you’re so young (compared to me!) so you have lots of time. Xxxxx

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 16:57

@Misty84 remember 10 follicles is not none and it only takes one, and I bet you if you search around women on mn have been successful with that many follicles or fewer so you are still in the game, the rules just suck. I think the AMH thing is about how you would respond to the drugs, if you’re ovulating that’s where the natural IVF might be worth a read, I’m just not super knowledgeable about who it’s suitable for.

It really, really sucks, it’s really shit how easy it is for some and others are going through this, I would be crying hard too. Definitely do as others have suggested and get a second opinion on the low reserve/AMH thing and see what options are open to you.

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 16:58

Exactly what @Geriatric1234 said!

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 17:02

This whole process has just made me so aware of how little we learn around important information on own bodies until we have to be, suddenly. No one even mentions all this stuff until you’re in this boat.

VixFromThe6ix · 25/03/2021 17:23

Hi everyone 👋
Glad to have found this thread!!
I'm 37, my partner of 3.5 yrs is 32 and we are trying for our first baby!
We had two miscarriages. Both were empty sacs.
We had our appointment with fertility clinic who took multitude of blood and ultrasound tests. All is well except my prolactin is a tad hightened.
If I am negative for this month I will start the meds and hope for April's BFP :)
Hope everyone is staying positive 💪

200% agreed! Always joke with my GFS that at 37 I'm still learning about how my body works... And only because of the unfortunate events of miscarriages Why not teach girls this at school?
VixFromThe6ix · 25/03/2021 17:27

I found out one of my ovaries only has two follacles and one has 9. I've been down about it when I found out last week. Considering I have no babies yet, I'm praying these will result in at least one. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 17:32

Thank you @Geriatric1234, it’s always good to hear a positive story!
@thislittlebird it’s so true, I didn’t even know there were phases to my monthly cycle before all this, let alone the wealth of knowledge I have now!!

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 17:34

Hi 🙋‍♀️ @VixFromThe6ix, welcome!

Yeah, honestly, a minefield. My friends with kids don’t even know what I’m yapping about half the time, follicles and AMH blah blah blah because they just got pregnant in a few months and that was that.

I really think if we understood all this better at least we could be more informed and plan. Choose to freeze some eggs in our twenties or whatever after some tests, that kind of thing. I dunno, it just seems odd that at it’s not something we’re taught.

Every follicle counts, ladies!
