Me neither @Misty84! I was only aware of pre and post ovulation as “phases”, didn’t know there was so many until I entered this rabbit hole.

Geriatric1234 · 25/03/2021 17:39

@VixFromThe6ix that a very decent amount of follicles - don’t be down!! What is prolactin? I’m relatively mew to all this too but I haven’t even heard that one!!

@Misty84 I think you’ve had an unfortunate series of knocks and, combined with lockdown, they’ve really knocked your confidence and stress. I think you are going to be fine, honestly xxx

VixFromThe6ix · 25/03/2021 17:45

It's a hormone that has something to do with your body making breast milk ... Somehow they linked that some women who miscarried had higher levels of prolactin. It also somehow affects production of estrogen and progesterone hormones.
It's not so high that they are worried, they are just trying to rule everything out since my tests all came back good.
So they out you on medicine that I'll start the first day of my period and continue till I get a confirmed positive test.
This one is confusing, I don't fully understand it myself... But honestly I'll do just about anything at this point 🤣🤣

Evening lovely ladies!

@Misty84 sending you so much love! 😘😘😘 but I echo what the others are saying - I would definitely get a second opinion!

Welcome @Gtcttww86 and @VixFromThe6ix! Hope you both get your BFP soon! 🤞🏻honestly, I've learned more about my body from this group and TTC process, than anything at school and uni! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Sleeeeeepy @Marvellouslymadmum yay re: ovulation and regular cycles! Hope this is a lucky month/thread for us all! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@climbershell @thislittlebird I might give the cheap sticks a try with first pee then! Well hopefully I've conceived this cycle and won't need them! 🤞🏻😃 also @thislittlebird you've reminded me that I need to get my arse in gear and start couch to 5k again too! I did really well towards the end of last year!

@Pamparam keeping my 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you!!!

@Noodella18 I've been feeling weird too! Can't tell if it's just pre-period feelings or something else! Trying to resist the temptation to test stupidly early!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@TTCat39 totally relate re: BBT and feeling so much is out of our control! I'm so obsessive with it and I really need to chill! Examining every drop and increase! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Lexber urgh it is so hard! I was on the coil for over 10 years total so I gave myself a couple of months to "regulate"!

Yay to the "ovulators"!!! 🤪🤣 Get on it! 😈

@thislittlebird it must be such a relief for you, steroids usually give you the boost you need to continue to heal in your own so 🤞🏻

@Gtcttww86 welcome to the group, it's so hard when you've no idea why things aren't working, what have the docs said is the next step for you?

@Misty84 I'm really sorry, hope you can get a second opinion and they have some better news for you

@VixFromThe6ix welcome to the group and sorry for your losses, I've not heard anyone say they've been tested for prolactin before 🤔 it's a new one on me!

@M4v3r1ck im actually feeling a little positive this month - which is probably silly after so long 🙄 but I'm hoping with my iron levels returning to normal and all the added vitamins etc that something may work - ever the optimist 😂

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 19:07

I got to week 5 before Christmas @M4v3r1ck, would be nice to finish it! Join me aboard the 🏃‍♀️ 🚂

thislittlebird · 25/03/2021 19:08

Yeah it’s nice @Marvellouslymadmum. I can’t tell you how long it’s been where I’m not itchy at least somewhere every day or night. Right now it’s a relief to have a break.

Kitekat81 · 25/03/2021 21:10

@Misty84 oh no I'm so sorry to hear that!!! 😢😢😢 You know I am right there with you in the low amh club, mine's lower than yours and my afc is lower as well 😔 Was that your GP who told you that or the fertility specialist? I would have thought it's unusual for a GP to make a decision like that, all they are supposed to do is refer you to the fertility clinic. NHS ivf is not an option for me because of age / length of waiting list so I've booked consultations next month with two private fertility clinics, one of which as @thislittlebird said is Create. They specialise in treating people with low ovarian reserve and don't have a minimum AMH level for treatment. They focus on the quality of the eggs they can collect from you, rather than focusing on getting the largest quantity (which is what normal ivf clinics focus on). You can sign up for a free webinar with them to find out more. I would recommend you do that as you will see that there is still hope, you are still ovulating and there are still eggs in there, all is not over yet!xxx

Misty84 · 25/03/2021 21:47

Thank you @Kitekat81. That was from the consultant at the fertility clinic, not my GP. It has knocked me for six. Not something I ever expected as I didn’t know the NHS had a cut off with AMH.
I’ve been looking into Create this evening and will watch the webinar tomorrow (when I’m hopefully less of an emotional wreck!)
Is that the “mild” ivf they talk about?

Kitekat81 · 25/03/2021 21:59

@Misty84 Create offer mild ivf which has some stimulation drugs but not as many as normal ivf; natural ivf which has no drugs at all; and natural-modified ivf which from what I can see is somewhere in between. Remember you are also still relatively young, so even if you only manage to retrieve a few eggs through ivf, they are still comparatively young eggs (three years younger than mine!) so they should be better quality.

Twelvestars · 25/03/2021 22:28

@Misty84 I just randomly came across the account of a British woman living in Canada with her husband. She was saying she had amh 1.6 but was on the government’s waiting list for IVF! So I wouldn’t rely on the NHS in telling me if I am eligible or not.

@Misty84 I meant to say the instagram account. Definitely seek a second opinion and if finances allow for it, go private ASAP. Make sure you research all reputable clinics. Some of the ladies here have recommended good options.

For now, cry all you want. Let it all out. You need it. But soon, get up, dust yourself off and keep trying. One or two or three more times. Or however long it takes. Until you just can’t anymore. If it works, then great. If it doesn’t, at least you’ll know you’ve given it your ultimate best.

Sending you lots of love and hugs

Twelvestars · 25/03/2021 22:50

I had such a busy day and week. I barely managed to go through the thread. It’s probably day 2 and it’s already 6 pages!!! Are we the best thread on mumsnet or what? 😂

Btw, anyone in the tww with me? I’m 6dpo.

@thislittlebird good thing you don’t have sleep issues like I do. How do I get by? I don’t know how I’ve ever gotten by all those years. I just get by I guess. I’ll have a few months of very bad sleep (with intermittent good nights) then I’ll have a relatively good month then back to a few bad months then a few good weeks and so on and so forth 😅

mrsmacmc · 26/03/2021 00:08

Pulling up my chair 🪑 ❤️

Farfaraway1 · 26/03/2021 02:59

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you! Pardon my ignorance.. what does FW stand for? Fertile week?

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 06:54

@Farfaraway1 yes fertile window is the way I always use it but some say fertile week 🤷🏼‍♀️

02Carol · 26/03/2021 07:08

@Twelvestar
❤️ Your message to Misty84, such good advice.

I'm in the TWW, 8 days until expected AF, I'm not going to do any early testing, just wait and see if she comes to town or not.

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 07:19

@02Carol I'm nearly in the tww already! Time has flown by git a flasher yesterday and peak today - great ov warning 😂

02Carol · 26/03/2021 07:33

@Marveouslymadmum Tell me about it, my ovulation was the same, and a week earlier than expected this month, so I have no idea what my body is doing!

Good luck 🤞

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/03/2021 07:39

@02Carol it's weird isn't it! Last month I had 7 days of flashing smileys before the peak! Only one day difference in peak so not too much change there but still I wasn't expecting it as had no warning, thought I would ov late this month 🤷🏼‍♀️ our bodies like to keep us on our toes

02Carol · 26/03/2021 07:51

@Marveouslymadmum same here, last month I had 9 days high then my static smiley, this month high alert, get to it now smiley 🤦🏻‍♀️

Had luckily DTD the day prior, on the day and the day after and 2/3 times after, might this weekend just for good luck 😂 why not!

Boobs are sore which I don't get during my cycle, but i think that's my TTC hypochondriac coming into play. 🤦🏻‍♀️

thislittlebird · 26/03/2021 08:00

I’m still waiting for my peak, it’s day 18 now and I’m still reading high.

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m guessing you’ve never monitored whether oral steroids can push back ovulation when you’ve been on them? We’re into latest ever o day territory in my house. Maybe I just won’t ovulate but I am getting EWCM.

@Twelvestars at least it’s good practice for what’s to come I guess Confused. I didn’t sleep well today mind, the drug jitters kicked in and I’ve been up since 5.

Pamparam · 26/03/2021 08:10

Good luck to everyone in the TWW... I started proper bleeding this morning so 11DPO but CD31, can’t really be anything but AF so no idea what was going on with that spotting on 8/9DPO. Hope this isn’t the start of a shorter LP trend. The rollercoaster ride starts a new climb ☹️

climbershell · 26/03/2021 08:29

I'm now 1dpo. But CD21. One app has af due 7 days, but obviously wrong as on for a long cycle this month.

Longest in the last year has been 30 days, so I'll take a guess & say due poss from 5th which is only 11dpo. I've marked 14dpo in my calendar 🤞🤞🤞
