@kerrym87 how did your investigations go today?

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 18:52

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh that'll be good if it's your funding! I'm going to ask if I can still be referred to fertility for amh and afc even though I can't have ivf when I speak to the docs on Monday.

@Theawkwardblonde I know it's so horrible when your body is messing you around 🤞🏻 the consultant can give you some answers

@kerrym87 that's what I'm thinking too, they didn't take testosterone but that's one to ask about on Monday!

Theawkwardblonde · 12/03/2021 19:11

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum @notyetamumbuttrying
I think I'm just a bit anxious as no MC has done this to my cycles before. I'm feeling quite poorly today too. Had horrendous cramps which were nearly on par with the MC ones so just chilling in bed.

kerrym87 · 13/03/2021 09:01

@Theawkwardblonde my friend and colleague have both had mc,one had no issues with cycles after the other one did, it does settle after a few cycles.
@crazycatlady1981 - tubes are patent, ovaries normal but she drilled them out as it can help some people as she has confirmed PCOS, and there was a small amount of endometriosis on left side which she removed . If I hadn't been on the implant 12 years it would have been much worse (mam has horrendous scarring round bladder and bowel left from it and had hysterectomy at 36) but I will re occur at some point but removed it now while it's a small amount is best. So it looks like combo of PCOS for which she will give clomid or letrizole and MFI. Partners SA was good motility but she said they were mostly a terrible shape.....she didn't say that at consultation I think as she'd just met joel and hed just started making changes. Shes going to follow us up 3 months to give time for him to keep losing weight, hes been on supplements for 3 months now and currently right back on alcohol. She did say that there is a cut off for mens BMI (only when I asked) of 40, but its possibly coming in down to 35.....she said shed accept 38 if it goes down to 35. His was 47 at clinic although he carries it all over and doesn't look that overweight if that makes sens. I think hes already down to 44/45 so its doable. Just trying to be supportive but also annoyed that I've gone through all this and all he needs to do is lose weight, which I've done, bmi used to be 35 it's now 25 and its hard to maintain. I'll be so forlorn if we don't hit criteria because of if but don't want to flare his anxiety and stress as that has an adverse effect on sperm, hes very loving and amazing and looks after me so don't want to seem ungrateful! God sorry for the rant, got a lot of info yesterday and just processing it!

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/03/2021 09:33

@Theawkwardblonde after my mc's my body was pretty much straight back to norma after 1 cycle but I've known other people that haven't been the same and it has taken a few months. Hope you feel better today

@kerrym87 good that you have a plan and know exactly what's going on now, though I get the part with your oh completely! Mine suffers with anxiety and stress too so I try and keep all my tracking etc on the qt and not put too much pressure on him with everything, just made subtle changes to the diet added Pom juice, he's taking suppliments and neither of us really drink anyway, he decided for himself 10 days ago to give up the smoking and hasn't touched one since which Is great and he's even started exercising again! So all positive, I'm hoping that him exercising with me will keep me at it lol annoying that we have to go through so many tests and changes though and their part seems apt easier - a bit like the pregnancy and birth really 😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/03/2021 13:19

@Marvellouslymadmum it'll be amazing if it is!! Good luck for Monday, those two are the best for actually investigating fertility. I don't know why they don't make them part of the initial investigations tbh!?
@Theawkwardblonde hope you feel better today?! Hopefully an evening chilling helped 😘
@kerrym87 glad it went ok and they were able to remove the endo. Did u ever get pain with sex because of endo? I'm still trying to figure out if I have it but guess I'll need a lap to see either way! I'm sure dh sperm will improve if he continues to lose weight and keeps up with the supplements! So will you be eligible for ivf if he gets his bmi down?
@Marvellouslymadmum great that he's given up smoking, I think that contributed the most to my Dh bad results bk in August. Exercising is great too! Hopefully they'll improve in a few months 🤞🏾
Always easier for the men isn't it! 🙄😆

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm really hoping to get some better answers from the other doc on Monday or it'll be on to paying for afc and amh! All going in the right direction at least now! I bet your oh is so pleased with his new super sperm 😂

kerrym87 · 13/03/2021 14:36

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I did that's why they did lap. painful periods is another. We'd be eligible for NHS treatment it's really good in our area.....3 rounds.

Narwhal88 · 13/03/2021 15:15

Hi all, I have checked in a few times but so many messages I can't keep up with everything haha! I hope everyone is ok.

@notyetamumbuttrying amazing news on the SA results!! You have a great chance of conceiving naturally now I reckon, just goes to show what smoking does!
@kerrym87 @notyetamumbuttrying I get pain with sex too it only seems to be better around fertile window. We tried this morning and it was too much and had to stop. It's like a burning sensation. I really think I have adenomyosis (they found this on MRI) and endo but I'm going to try IVF first as trying to get it looked into will be a battle.

@Motherofkittens28 sorry about BFN but that was really early to test so still keeping my fingers crossed for you! How are you feeling?

@Annny27 great AMH, mine is 44 so similar. What's the next step for you? Sorry if you have said I can't keep up!

I stopped norethisterone on Thursday so now waiting for AF to arrive. It needs to arrive by Monday or they will have to rearrange my baseline scan on Tuesday 😬

crazycatlady1981 · 13/03/2021 15:31

@kerrym87 that’s great to have some answers and that she managed to remove some of the endo! Really hope your oh manages to get his bmi down without you having to put too much pressure on him!

Tofu35 · 13/03/2021 16:11

Hey gang, I'm at 8DPO and definitely at the "itchy toe" symptom spotting part of the TWW. Today's conundrum- did I feel queasy this morning because I forgot to have breakfast until midday or is this definitely an early sign of pregnancy (answer: I felt a lot better after a slice of toast) 🤣

PeanutButterBrownies · 13/03/2021 16:16

@Annny27 haha yes unphased is defo right! We've really been struggling this month to get on it, @notyetamumbuttrying you are smashing it, you go girl! Those SA results are sooo promising, you must be in with such a better chance now!

My app said I should be ovulating yest but I'm still on flashing smileys today so we'll see. I've just been feeling really tired and weak for the last couple of days, very far from sexy. About to head for a cheeky nap!

@Theawkwardblonde sorry to hear your cycles messing you around - I've also heard that it can take a couple of cycles after a MC to get back to normal, must be horribly frustrating. Good that you can just chill and take care of yourself this weekend :)

@Marvellouslymadmum good luck for Monday!

Motherofkittens28 · 13/03/2021 17:00

@Narwhal88, is that your ivf baseline next week? Good luck! Im feeling ok, still spotting, this is 4 days now so who knows what's going on. I'm wondering if its my progesterone pessaries so tried using them via the back entrance this morning, which was horrible! Other people sware by that method, maybe I need more practice 🥴

Annny27 · 13/03/2021 17:13

@Motherofkittens28 yep I did them rectally and way better for me! Less chance of irritating cervix 🥰

@narwhal88 good luck hope period arrives and you can get started :D

@notyetamumbuttrying covering all bases then :D

@kerrym87 was it a private laparoscopy? How much?

Glad they found and took away the endo!

Annny27 · 13/03/2021 17:25

Forgot to answer your question @narwhal88 - next step for us is hycosy next cycle and then nhs ivf in november or private before!

Narwhal88 · 13/03/2021 18:06

@Motherofkittens28 yes ivf baseline. Who knows about the spotting, could still be implantation? Oh god I'm dredging the progesterone! I've also got to take a volterol suppository before egg collection 🙈 I've never done one before. Considering getting some glycerol ones to practice, that sounds mental, I think I'm more nervous about that than the injections 😂

@Annny27 thank you 😊 not long to wait then till all your tests are complete, do you think you will go private rather than wait?

kerrym87 · 13/03/2021 18:42

@Annny27 its was NHS but they hired space at private hospital as NHS hospital still repurposed some theatres from covid. Pessaries are best way for voltarol as dissolve and absorb really quickly and same for progesterone, just watch out for 'greasy farts' after as my sister told me when she had hers! Also forgot to share an omg moment...didn't realise I had a 3rd dressing just at bottom of my belly...and they've only gone and stuck the dressing to my short and curlies! Bloody buggers , not looking forward to that unplanned wax tomorrow....

Narwhal88 · 13/03/2021 18:51

@kerrym87 oh god greasy farts 😂 good job I work alone in my office at work. Ouch poor you for tomorrow!! That's gonna hurt!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/03/2021 19:20

@Marvellouslymadmum he is grinning from ear to ear happy 😂 we've done it 4 days in a row this cycle as we're like wahey we might actually be able to do this naturally now! Although I'm now shitting it that I have endo in my tubes or something 😩 it's never ending 🤪 but if I come on next month it'll be hycosy and if the dye doesn't get through then it's laparoscopy for me! 😬
@kerrym87 same as me, painful periods and pain with deep penetration and afterwards too 😖 ah amazing, 3 rounds is great! It's only 1 in our area but that includes 2 frozen transfers too.
@Narwhal88 yeah it's madness, we're so pleased! I'm trying to get both on the nhs, Ivf and diagnostic lap for endo. They said it's a year wait for a lap so if I get pregnant first then it doesn't matter for now. But if we decide not to do ivf then I'll need a lap privately so that we can crack on with natural. Scans haven't picked anything up so if I have it, I reckon it's deep in my tubes! Are your periods usually regular?
@PeanutButterBrownies eek I really hope so!! 🤞🏾 hope you get peak soon! Get dtd tomorrow!
@Annny27 yep, gotta be done 😏
@kerrym87 ooh be careful with that tomorrow ouch 🙈

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 13/03/2021 20:06

@kerrym87 ouch! That doesn't sound like fun on the unplanned wax 😂 greasy farts made me lol

@notyetamumbuttrying I think mine would be like that too! Funny he'll probably go around telling people he's got great sperm now 🤦🏼‍♀️ hopefully it'll all go well for you naturally now 🤞🏻

Motherofkittens28 · 13/03/2021 20:09

@notyetamumbuttrying don't worry too much, I have endo and my tubes were totally fine. I looked into a private lap and it was about £8k! Ivf is the cheaper option for sure! Im still on the waiting list for mine, in December they told me February but then they cancelled all procedures when lockdown hit so im guessing I won't get my lap until at least 6 weeks after lockdown ends. So glad I decided to go ahead with the ivf.

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/03/2021 21:19

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you 🙏🏾 that's the hope! Oh I'm almost certain mine is telling ppl he has super sperm now 🙄 😂

@Motherofkittens28 ah ok, good to know. Yeah been looking tonight and cheapest I've found is £4K. Did your endo show up on a scan then? If my tubes are blocked then I'll have a decision on lap or ivf. I'll prob choose ivf as cheaper like you say!

OP posts:
Motherofkittens28 · 13/03/2021 21:46

@notyetamumbuttrying, no they can almost never see it on a scan. I had two laps 13 years ago for endo and it was confirmed and removed then. Given so much time has passed its suspected adhesions and scaring have recurred. Also when I had my eggs frozen 4 years ago the technician said she could see it still. Im worried it might be causing implantation issues but that might be wishful thinking as I'd really just like an answer that isn't you are too old and have too few eggs left!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/03/2021 22:07

@Motherofkittens28 that's what I thought. Were your symptoms painful periods and sex? It's crazy that it just returns, quite scary really! Ah I really hope your eggs are in good condition still! When are your next appointments?

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 13/03/2021 23:16

I'm back at work tomorrow on nights. I shouldn't complain as it helps keep me busy and take my mind off things.
I'm finding that my sex drive has completely gone this month 😳😳
I'm unsure if it's still the MC affecting me but I've got zero desire to do anything. We've only done it 4 times in the last 3 weeks. I know it's common to get a bit sick of DTD sex, but I've just got no urge at all for any of it.
Bit counterproductive to conceiving 🤣🤣
Has anyone gone through spells like this?
It's quite alien to me. I usually have a decent sex drive, more so than DH but the thought of it actually just upsets me at the moment. Clearly no love honey shops going on in our house 🤣🤣
