@Marvellouslymadmum have you had any scans? Mine got picked up on a scan years ago after DS was born for something else and my ovaries looked like bubble wrap and got a call off the doctors after telling me I have PCOS. Since TTC this time my fertility consultant believes I have only have PCO not the syndrome...not quite sure what that means other than I clearly don't like to ovulate.

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/02/2021 13:30

@Crazydoglady123 bit better today thanks hun, you?
Dh sped off with his sample this morning and the dosy cow at reception thought he was producing there so said go to take a seat! 🤦🏾‍♀️ luckily he only sat for about 10 mins before going bk up and saying again that he was there with his sample and needs to give it in! He said he was still within the hour so here's hoping they still analyse it! My anxiety can't take much more of this ttc malarkey. So ready for ivf now!
@ACMJ remind me, did either of you have fertility issues or were you down as unexplained or hadn't been labelled anything yet?
Talking of bmi chat, I sound like such a lard arse at 29 bmi but I am quite tall and a size 14/16 big bum and thighs too. Shapely I like to call it though 💁🏽‍♀️

@Crazydoglady123 no the last scan I had was before the first mc when I was pregnant so just under 4 years ago. I'm hoping that's where the doc will go next after the blood tests!

@notyetamumbuttrying my bmi is around 32! Which no one would guess to look at me, it's very odd. I have been counting my calorie intake to see why and per day its between 500 & 800 average to 1100 max so I don't know where I'm going wrong but air seems to make me out on weight 🙄 and bow I'm trying to add protein but worry that'll make me put on more 🤦🏼‍♀️

SunnySide1992 · 25/02/2021 13:40

Hey everyone. So im having a really bad day. Heres my story. Me and DH have been ttc for 2 1/2 years. Had a MC last october at 5 1/2 weeks. DH has had all tests come back fine and mine so far are fine. Currently waiting to have a HSG and more bloods. Im just feeling very overwhelmed. I really just thought i would get pregnant naturally and when i finally did it was taken away from me 😭😭 i know ivf would be an option but it sounds so mentally and physically draining. Also feels like all my friends are just announcing their pregnancies and i cant help but feel jealous. Any positive thoughts or similar stories with a successful bfp? Xxx

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 13:50

@notyetamumbuttrying oh gosh! That was a close call! Fingers crossed it gets processed quick! Glad you're feeling a bit better today. It's just a long old rollercoaster of emotions, isn't it?I'm trying to be more positive today. I just feel deflated deep down. We've changed sooo much this cycle and I really, really thought we was in with such a good chance to have it all shattered so early on. I'll be due on around the 9th March but just praying it'll be a short cycle.

@Marvellouslymadmum see trouble loosing weight is a sign of PCOS. I normally find it quite easy though but after my first month on Letrozole I reckon I'd put on half a stone so started to diet and like you was eating well under 1200 calories a day and doing exercise and found it sooooo hard to lose lbs so kind of given up since then.

I think BMI is irrelevant as long as you live a healthy lifestyle. After my crap day yesterday and Dominos and Burger King both in one day I've eaten super healthy today 😇 Yoghurt with blueberries, flax and pumpkin seeds for breakfast and salad for lunch (and also dinner tonight). I've decided not to keep up with the hot/warm food now this cycle now.

@Crazydoglady123 yes which would make perfect sense to me! My mum and sisters are both naturally slimmer and don't put in weight easily and I'm the most active if everyone 😑 I did have a Chinese and cake yesterday as it was oh birthday but today I've had porridge and having a salad for dinner so I think I've made up for it 🤷🏼‍♀️ i usually put something hot with salad that way I'm still having some warm food.

@SunnySide1992 sorry for your loss there's a few of us on her that have been through mc too. It's very difficult to accept when you don't know why! Have you been tracking opk and bbt? We've also had people on here get their bfp sobthere are always positive stories too

crazycatlady1981 · 25/02/2021 14:35

@PeanutButterBrownies sorry to hear that af arrived! She also arrived at my house earlier today and is in full flow now! Booooo! 👎🏻 Was feeling pretty disappointed, but I’ve picked myself back up now and gona focus on getting my eggs nice and healthy with all the protein!

@SunnySide1992 welcome to the group! It’s a lovely one! So sorry to hear about your loss. I’ve also been ttc actively for 2.5 years and all our tests have come back normal so far! The whole ttc process is extremely overwhelming and stressful, but this group is a good place to have a rant if you need it!
I find my weekly acupuncture a good stress relief too!

@Annny27 oh no! Sorry about the thrush! Really hope it clears up in time for some dtd!

ACMJ · 25/02/2021 14:57

@notyetamumbuttrying I have PCOS! But normal male fertility. I wasn’t ovulating at all and only had 1/2 periods a year

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 14:57

Right I'm trying to add protein but not finding it that easy, popping up to Holland and Barratt this afternoon to get some more pregnacare and going to see what offers they have on for the others! I'll order ubiquinol online so I'm looking for vit c, b6, epo, is that it? And what strengths am I going for?

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/02/2021 19:03

@Marvellouslymadmum that doesn't sound like you're eating enough and your body is clinging onto all calories as it think it's starved. Try going to 1500 a day and see if it makes a difference. How was your H&B shop?
@SunnySide1992 welcome, sorry to hear of your struggles and time spent ttc. It's hard going! No bfp story from me but I'm heading to the Petri dish due to male factor and suspected endo.
@Crazydoglady123 yeah it's so draining. I just can't be arsed some days. I'm even worse when progesterone rises and af is looming. My hormones and emotions are shot! Hope it's a short cycle for you too 🤞🏾
Well done on the healthy eating today 😃
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker
Good luck for Tuesday! Is it nhs? If you've got the appointment then you're eligible. If it's private there's no time put on it as you're paying for a service.
@ACMJ oh I see! So pleased it finally happened for you, how exciting! 🤩

@SunnySide1992 welcome and sorry for your loss. It's a horrible journey infertility and totally normal to feel how you are. It's good to speak to women going through the same process.

@Marvellouslymadmum yes that cake was amazing by the way! I forgot to comment. I think my first cycle of IVF will fall right over my birthday 😐 Back to the PCOS, if you can't get a scan off your doctors private ones are about £80-90

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker 3 times a day!!!??? Exciting about the IVF

@notyetamumbuttrying do you find like me like all of a sudden you feel a lot more emotional over it? Like I used to have "my moments" but recently it hits me harder and just sucks the life out of me. I don't even really want to see people at the minute...

@ACMJ did you get pregnant on your last round of Letrozole?

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 19:38

@notyetamumbuttrying to be honest those calories are just for my two meals a day and if I eat a snack like a banana but I haven't added in things like milk in tea etc so it's prob more like the 800-1100 a day but that's with two meals and I just don't get hungry enough for more! The H&M shop was expensive 😂 more pregnacare, 1000mg epo 50mg b6 and as I was speaking to a fairly knowledgable lady I asked about adding protein and she showed me a plant based protein that could be added to water or milk (so I was thinking full fat milk to get my bit of that in too) and I asked if that was as good as eating protein in foods and she said yes definitely! Had a look at the tub and it had lots of different plant proteins and it was reduced from £30 to £13 so thought I'd give that a go! Got it home and realised it only has 10 portions in it and supposed to be one a day! So at full price it would be £90 a month 😳 it also has 450 calories per portion in it! So that'll definitely boost them 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 19:40

@Crazydoglady123 oh that's reasonable for a scan so may do that if nhs won't offer it, is that through a private health place!
My emotions go up and down all the time with ttc

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 19:49

@Marvellouslymadmum mines just an ultrasound service. They have their own base but operate from a few different clinics too on different days. I just searched ultrasound clinic on google and found them (I think look for places that do private pregnancy scans). I've been to the lady 3 times over about 6 years. I'm really lucky as she's so good and knowledgable but never takes the pee and the scan never feels rushed. Like I messaged her yesterday to tell her how I got on with my scan and asked if my consultant could miss a follicle and is it worth going to her for another scan and she called me straight away and said there's no way he could of and so it'd be a waste of money going to her. It's nice to find people who aren't just out for your money! She also said if I end up in pain again on the Clomid to just call her and she'll fit me in. It sounds sad but I can't wait to go to her for a pregnancy scan (when it eventually happens 🙄)

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 19:59

@Crazydoglady123 ahh that makes sense! I did wonder if it was a place like the 3D pregnancy scans but didn't know if it was the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ sounds like you have the perfect kind of person there! I know there a few of those around here so I'll have to have a look about, definitely worth a research. It's not sad at all, it'll be really nice for you having that extra reassurance of knowing her and that she won't rush like the nhs ones!

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 20:02

@Crazydoglady123 omg I am actually so excited I'm selling up 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ I just googled and there's one literally at the end of the road I live on!! 2.8 miles away and they do pregnancy scans (when I need one) 4d and fertility ones!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 20:04

*welling I can't even type 😂😂

TTC 15 months or longer. Bring your protein bars and all your supplements this way! Bus 3
Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 20:05

@Marvellouslymadmum yes definitely look up places that offer 3D pregnancy scans and see if they offer other women's scans! Yeah I feel like she's on the journey with us 😂

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 20:06

Oh wow! That's so close! See, meant to be! They'll give you a written report too so you can take that to your GP after if anything gets picked up

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 20:13

@Crazydoglady123 😬 I know I shouldn't be excited about such a thing but I really am lol I'll still have to wait to see what the blood tests say but I'm kind of tempted to contact them and see what they say anyway!

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 20:18

@Marvellouslymadmum where are you in your cycle?

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/02/2021 20:21

@Crazydoglady123 cd10 5th day of flashing smileys but no peak yet

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 20:21

@Marvellouslymadmum & how long are your cycles?

Crazydoglady123 · 25/02/2021 20:22

@Marvellouslymadmum owww I'd get booked in ASAP then if you want to get a scan. Like me you'd be able to see if you've got follicles developing and whether you're due to ovulate or have ovulated
