@Marvellouslymadmum I think my FSH is too high, it was done on day 3 of my menstrual cycle

13.2 iul/L
Follicular phase 3.0 -8.1 😳

Do you have the same reference for Follicular phase?

What does high FSH mean?!?

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 10:20

@RobinRose I've just checked for you it's says FSH 3.5-12.5 in follicular phase so I'd say you're just at the top of that then it goes up mid cycle I've no idea what any of it means 😂 I'm consulting dr google but he isn't cooperating and telling me much at all lol

crazycatlady1981 · 12/03/2021 10:22

@Annny27 sorry to hear that, it really sucks doesn’t it! Hopefully by next year, we will all have something to celebrate! 🤞🏻

@Marvellouslymadmum great that you have your results! Unfortunately I’ve got no idea what high oestrogen or progesterone levels mean! Surely progesterone being high is a good thing in luteal phase though!

RobinRose · 12/03/2021 10:29

@Marvellouslymadmum interesting yku have a different range to me, mine were done last June so maybe things have changed? I like your range better so I'm going with your figures 😁🤣 I have consulted Dr Google many times and I agree, not giving much info at all! I have read high FSH can mean an early sign of menopause of diminished ovarian reserve... 😳oh the joy!

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 10:31

@crazycatlady1981 yes you're supposed to have elevated levels of both at this stage but mine being way above the maximum I've no idea what that means! Did look up the fsh to Lh thing though and they are supposed to be equal and if they're 2:1 or 3:1 ration it indicates pcos which I have wondered about

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 10:33

@RobinRose some of the levels have changed recently it says it on my piece of paper so that may be why.

What was you Lh when taken at the same time? I've just read they should be equal mine is not 😑

RobinRose · 12/03/2021 10:41

@Marvellouslymadmum oh that is good to know, thank you! I have tried getting them repeated but the gp said there's no point.. I'm ovulating..

Yes LH was taken at the same time it was 7.0 iul/L how are they meant to be equal? 🤔

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 10:46

@RobinRose I've no clue is very confusing but from what I can tell it's if your Lh is higher it's a sign of pcos no idea what it means if the fsh is higher

Crazydoglady123 · 12/03/2021 11:21

@Marvellouslymadmum

I managed to get my results from the gp though they're pretty awkward to read! It's says -

progesterone is 60.5 and should be 13.1-46.3 in the luteal phase,
FSH 4.5 should be 1.7-7.7 in Lp
LH 8.6 should be 1.0-11.4 in Lp
Oestrogen 1127 should be 222-854 in Lp

Other than that just my fbc are still slightly off as iron levels are still low but much better.

So from what I can tell I have mega progesterone and oestrogen, not sure what that means and the fsh and Lh are fine 🤷🏼‍♀️
If anyone wants to know what the levels should be in any phase I have that info on there too which I thought was handy

Well done for getting them! Without getting in g your hopes up, is high estrogen and progesterone not a good sign of pregnancy as throughout pregnancy both hormones continue to rise...
Crazydoglady123 · 12/03/2021 11:23

@Sjhigs that is scary! When my consultant was worried about me having quintuplets I had so many bad dreams about it 🙈😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 11:38

@Crazydoglady123 I did wonder this but then I thought I doubt it as this was only day 21 so would be only just around implantation if that 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm wondering if I should ring the doc today and ask about being checked for pcos dies to my fsh/Lh results, I know I've ovulated this month but it's been really different, sore boobs sharp pain around ov etc which I don't usually get so it could just be a lucky month plus the supplements may have helped it happen!

Motherofkittens28 · 12/03/2021 13:21

@Sjhigs I am also having crazy dreams at the moment and also some dirty ones! The last two mornings I've woken up in the middle of one and been seriously wishing we didn't have to abstain and that my OH was home! We are under strict instructions no sexual activities at all until the clinic say its ok! It sucks because for once it wouldn't be enforced ttc sex!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/03/2021 14:11

@Marvellouslymadmum my progesterone was that high too. It's fine I was led to believe. No ones said it's not. It just had to be over 30 to detect ov had happened, or so I've been led to believe.
@RobinRose optimism is good but it can lead to disappointment. I'll just have to get over it like I do every month 😂
Mother's Day doesn't bother me either but must be so hard for those who have lost their mums 💐
fsh and lh should be done on day 3 to get accurate results.
@Motherofkittens28 what a pain having to abstain! When you do get to that's going to be one hell of a session 🥵 😂

crazycatlady1981 · 12/03/2021 14:13

@RobinRose were your fsh and LH tests done on day 3 or 21? I think they can vary between follicular phase to luteal phase.

RobinRose · 12/03/2021 14:19

@notyetamumbuttrying @crazycatlady1981 they were done on day 3 🤔

Annny27 · 12/03/2021 14:38

@marvellouslymadmum my progesterone was 67 :)

Not sure about the other numbers!

@PeanutButterBrownies hahahah love your story - my DH would probs be the same - unphased 😂

@notyetamumbuttryibg are you going all for it this month now you know DHs sperm is better?

crazycatlady1981 · 12/03/2021 14:48

@RobinRose ah ok, they are only just outside the day 3 range though so I wouldn’t worry. Have you had other tests done (AMH, afc, progesterone etc?) I’ve lost track of who’s had what done on this thread now!

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 15:14

@notyetamumbuttrying that's good to know, hopefully it's the same with the oestrogen then!

I've attached the bit that says what the levels should be for fsh and Lh during each stage of the cycle for anyone interested

RobinRose · 12/03/2021 15:53

@crazycatlady1981 it is easy to lose track! Whereabouts are you on your journey? I have had progesterone but not the others you have mentioned. My gp just tested LH, FSH, Progesterone and Prolactin. I am hoping to get the tests you mentioned with the fertility clinic. I really should make a list of questions to ask them!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/03/2021 16:09

@Annny27 yup we certainly are!! Day 3 on the trot now and ovulating today so will do it again tomorrow for good measure! 😜
Just had a VM from the assisted conception unit though so I hope it's to say that fundings in!! That would be record time if it was. The appointment was only 3 weeks ago! 😱

@RobinRose defo make a list, I always think I'll remember and then come away going crap, forgot this n that!

Theawkwardblonde · 12/03/2021 16:31

Eurgh I'm still sat moping ladies. Still no sign of a peak on opk.
According to my apps period due in 4 days. Lord knows if that'll rear her ugly head.
I'm so down in the dumps over this, but have an appointment with consultant next week so hoping they will have some answers.

crazycatlady1981 · 12/03/2021 16:52

@RobinRose that’s good, hopefully you’ll get a better picture once you’ve had a few other tests! Although saying that, I’ve had most tests except for hycosy and just have unexplained infertility so far! 🤷🏻‍♀️ The private consultant I saw in December just said to go straight to ivf, no point in any other tests! So hopefully starting that in the next few months!

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh that’s exciting! Hope it’s about your funding! 🤞🏻

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/03/2021 17:18

@Theawkwardblonde aw hun, must be so tough for you. Glad you have an appointment soon though!
@crazycatlady1981 so do I! Won't have to go private then! Might just forgo the hycosy altogether if we can start ivf sooner than expected on the nhs. Interesting that you were told that too. Surely it's better to get that checked though, just to make sure all basis are covered?! I'll get it done should funding take months as first thought.

Sjhigs · 12/03/2021 17:22

@Motherofkittens28 always the way I had to go through that when I got my hsg as well probably the first in ages I actually wanted to instead of it feeling like a chore 🤣 typical isn't it 🤦‍♀️

kerrym87 · 12/03/2021 17:22

@Marvellouslymadmum from that I'd say possible PCOS and its characterised by high oestrogen and LH higher than FSH, looks like yours is nearly double like mine, it's more about the ratio as lots of people with it fall into 'normal range. Did you get a testosterone done too as that can be elevated.
