Ahh soo annoying when you just want the results! @notyetamumbuttrying

I had a boiled egg as a snack today for extra protein haha - @Motherofkittens28 got us all protein hooked :p

Welcome @2020mission :) we are on cycle 15 since our miscarriage - started trying again end of December 2019 (first started trying in june 2019)

Crazydoglady123 · 04/03/2021 17:53

@2020mission yay! You're over here now! Welcome 🤗

@notyetamumbuttrying no way! What a joke! You did well keeping your calm 🙌 Yeah hopefully they'll email it to them tomorrow. It was a good job I called to change my appointments.

Theawkwardblonde · 04/03/2021 19:37

@notyetamumbuttrying what an absolute faff on! I'm a tad raging as we STILL haven't had DH sent for just SA, bear in mind we paid private back in November!! He's rang up numerous times and just gets told "it'll be the end of the month". Then the end comes and there is no luck! Absolute joke. He's been chasing it up since December now.

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/03/2021 20:26

Hope everyone's doing well this evening? I've been doing lots of research this afternoon and I've discovered something I was really unaware of! I knew you needed to take iron when pregnant as the baby sucks up extra iron but when my doc said I was iron deficient after having the blood test last month I just thought yeah what's new, I've been like that since I was a teenager and being a veggie doesn't help! She put me on supplements and is checking my iron levels again next week when I have the day 21 tests done BUT what I didn't know is that if you're anaemic which I am as the doc said my iron levels are very low then that means you'll also have an under active thyroid! Causing low energy levels and easier to gain weight, which makes sense. It also means that not only can it cause ovulation issues and make you completely anovulatory it effects egg health and fertility dropping your chances of getting pregnant about 60%! It can make eggs unviable, prevents proper placental development and increases the chance of miscarriage (of which I've had 2 & 2 cp) so now I'm just hoping that is the main cause for all the issues! I'll find out in about a week what my iron levels are and 🤞🏻 if they've improved it should up our chances significantly - go get those iron levels checked ladies, if you haven't already, who would've thought something so simple and so common could have such a big effect?

Crazydoglady123 · 04/03/2021 20:31

@Marvellouslymadmum that'd make sense! I'm forever reading up new things and facts. Fingers crossed they've improved for you 🤞

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/03/2021 20:35

@Crazydoglady123 I really do hope so! I just decided to look up what effect low iron had on fertility and bam! It could just be a contributing factor but my age combine with low iron the poor little eggs didn't stand a chance! If it's improved with the supplements (doc put me on a whopping 630mg a day!) plus all the other bits I've been taking then there may be a chance for us yet 🤞🏻 how are you doing after your frantic search for notes?

crazycatlady1981 · 05/03/2021 07:37

@Marvellouslymadmum ooh that’s interesting! It’s a wonder that anyone ever gets pregnant at all with all these things we can be deficient in!! I was recommended floradix by my acupuncturist, but never got around to taking it, so I’ve just ordered some! 😊

@notyetamumbuttrying hope your SA results come in today! 🤞🏻

@2020mission welcome to the group! 😊

SlothMamaToBe · 05/03/2021 07:49

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks for sharing info about iron that’s really interesting. I’ve also been veggie/vegan for about 13 years . When I’ve had blood tests in past my levels have been a bit borderline, i might get some of that liquid iron from Holland and Barrett.

PeanutButterBrownies · 05/03/2021 08:15

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you for sharing! I'm not vegetarian but only eat meat as an occasional treat so that could be something! I've never been tested for iron levels but I can't imagine there would be any harm in supplementing Smile those figures are astonishing - it's amazing how one seemingly small thing could make a world of difference. Fingers crossed for you!

@notyetamumbuttrying argh how frustrating! Hope you manage to get through to someone today x

Tofu35 · 05/03/2021 09:07

Positive thoughts needed for me today gang! We have our couples phone appointment with the fertility clinic today (cancelled yesterday so we've been told it's at "sometime today". Unfortunately it's also peak ovulation day so would be nice to know when "sometime" is happening because we have some planned sex to have 🤭

Motherofkittens28 · 05/03/2021 09:26

@Tofu35 good luck! Hopefully a useful appointment.
@notyetamumbuttrying hope you get your results today!

@creativethinkertequiladrinker that's a good idea! My mind is completely blank about what questions I could ask- so I'll be grateful if they do an info dump kind of call :)

Tofu35 · 05/03/2021 11:09

Verdict: 5 months before we can go to IVF, all tests are fine (bloods, hycosy, SA) so it's "unexplained". We're taking the right vitamins and "whatever he's doing to improve his semen results as worked" so, in the words of the clinician "the only thing to do is keep trying".

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 11:09

@crazycatlady1981 that's what I was thinking! I've always been iron deficient so I've no idea how I managed it with my teenagers, I know I took iron once pregnant with both, maybe the eggs were just a lot better anyway as I was younger!

@SlothMamaToBe I've been out on iron tablets at various times by docs whenever I've had blood taken in the past but eventually forgot to take them etc and didn't think much of it! I've been veggie for 26 years and was already a bit anaemic before so I'm guessing that's why mines always low . Definitely something to add to the list of things though!

@PeanutButterBrownies I know, I was so so shocked! I think the preconception vits have some in so that may be enough if you don't have low levels, definitely worth a check though with all the blood the docs have taken they may have your results just not mentioned it if they weren't concerned.

@Tofu35 oooh good luck! I've found a clinic near me that has a free consultation so I'm thinking of giving that a go (probably only a basic one where they tell me I need loads of costly tests lol)

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I never realised it was THAT significant! Even effecting weight etc

I had a dream I was very pregnant last night! 😫 as in about to go to the hospital, among some other very vivid odd dreams then woke up and realised I was not 😔

Annny27 · 05/03/2021 11:21

@Tofu35 that was our diagnosis too! Brought me 0 comfort not sure how you feel?

Tofu35 · 05/03/2021 11:27

@annny27 sounds familiar! Its good that there isn't any huge setbacks in our way except the invisible hippo that will move whenever it's ready and not a minute before.

A part of me was concerned they'd just be like "you're knackered, off to IVF with you", so I guess it's good they're saying 'nature can do this, given time' but would also have liked nature to receive a helpful nudge (even if it was another vitamin to try!).

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/03/2021 13:24

Still no sign of these bloody results 😩😖
Dh has called himself now and been told he'll get a callback...nothing so far! 😡
@Theawkwardblonde that's outrageous considering you're paying for it too! Makes no sense?!
@Marvellouslymadmum interesting on the iron front! We have lots of spinach and also meat eaters so hoping we're covered there!
@Tofu35 so what you thinking about the verdict then? Will you give it so long and then do ivf anyway?

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 14:12

@notyetamumbuttrying how frustrating! How long does it really take to read a couple of results out 🙄

@Tofu35 unexplained just feels so unhelpful doesn't it? And it doesn't help either when they say it can happen naturally so keep trying because your frustrated that it hasn't so far, What will you do now?

Aimzie · 05/03/2021 14:17

@2020MISSION welcome 😘❤️ as soon as as AF comes il be going into my 20th month TTC 😭😭

@Motherofkittens28 that's so interesting, my sister is anemic as well and it only clicked with me last week, I'm on iron a week now, but to help with insomnia. So that will be really interesting to see if it makes a difference 😊
I'm at 15dpo cd33, negative cheapie this morning, temps still up and no sign of AF whatsoever, so strange but I'm still not getting my hopes up as I've went nearly 5 weeks in between. Only thing is tho my luteal phase is always only 14-15days, and I know for certain that I'm 15dpo as temp had massive spike on that day and it's still up today 👀 secretly dreaming that my hcg is very slow to rise and il get that bfp.. I duno how I still expect to see it every month after so long of nothing 😔😅

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 15:29

@Aimzie funnily enough it was the first thing the doc checked me for when I was on cd53 and still getting bfn and no af! So you could well be anaemic too, I was actually pg and had a mc too though. I'm on a massive dose or iron from the doc at the moment 630mg a day so hopefully that brings me up to where I should be and I can just go onto a Normal dose. I'm just looked up and I'm on cycle 29 ttc 😳 and that's only from when I started tracking them in November 2018, I came off contraception in April before that so probably another 6 on top of that making it 35 cycles 😑 I bloody hope this iron is the problem!

Aimzie · 05/03/2021 15:58

Girls what the actual F is this... Is this another evap, omg and I've none left to tomorrow, can't even go town as fiancé has my car to work 😭😭😭
